Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

[attr="class","mouths1"] She aspired to make her family proud. It was one of the single most important things that would bring her happiness. Despite all that - here she was, yanking a comb through a particularly stubborn tangle. How could she ever become anything to bring pride if she couldn’t even conquer a snag in the thick locks of her hair? She continued to arduously work it until finally it was fixed, her copper brown hair free of anything unsightly.
A bandage covered the knuckles of her left hand, evidence of the training she had started to pour her soul into. It was rough and the injury wasn’t so bad - as this was more a mere precaution to avoid the possibility of it becoming infected. It still stung when she clenched her hand into a fist, though it wasn’t anything the girl couldn’t deal with. However a voice bleeds colors across her vision - a dark forest green that makes her perk.
Was that her brother being home? Her reaction was almost too abrupt - too sudden, but she cared little. Willow was overjoyed as she looked up to him quite a lot, and wished that one day she could attain even a shadow of what he was in her eyes. It was what drove her to strengthen herself and work tirelessly, no matter how hard things were or if they knocked her down. Barely suppressing the urge to rush to where she had heard him, it’s harder still not to pounce on his arm and cling to it like when she was even smaller.
”Do you have any time before you have to be busy again?” Her voice was hopeful but gentle in it’s demureness, not wishing to present an issue or any semblance of pressure. But he had surely learned enough about his sister to recognize the unspoken words that she missed him. He’s been busier as of the late though she blames him not, she just wishes for even a moment. She wouldn’t take it hard if today was not in the cards, but it didn’t stop the hopefulness.
Anything would be good in the girl’s eyes. Tea together or even just a walk where they could catch up or discuss different things. Surely he had some sort of story to tell, or had something exciting that had happened? She could bring up her training but it was likely something already easily noticed, due to the bandages tightly wrapped about her hand. If she was lucky, it wouldn’t worry him too much.

[attr="class","wnubreakbody"] Work piled easily throughout the months of his assigned duty. The eldest son of the Klyns, an expected future pride and symbol of accomplishment for their large family. Firm pressure weighed upon Enzo’s shoulders at every passing second, thus, unlike most, he rarely spared a moment to fancy the changing seasons or basics of life. The male brunette upheld his duties as a guard with high regard and jovially accomplished the purposes granted to him from birth. His expectation was to be Morty’s sword and shield, a protector of royalty.
[break][break]
Thus, the spring weather went unnoticed as Enzo was relieved of his duties for the day and permitted to head home. Despite his position as Morty’s personal guard, the brunette required breaks from the duties that surrounded him. Birds chirped around him, hardly noticed as his mind rushed through a variety of possibilities. As Morty’s retainer, he always attempted to assist with matters that bothered his liege or in the formulating of the destined future. Time would pass before their plans would enter fruition and the people of their cursed kingdom would know a ruler of kindness.
[break][break]
The warmth of the spring weather tickled his face, but the enveloping nature of his thoughts kept him from truly noticing. Endless clockwork predicted that Enzo's day would restart the instant he returned to the castle. His duties never ended, as protecting Morty was crucial. He reached the house, twisting the handle and pushing through the door.
[break][break]
"I'm home," he called, shuffling through the door.
[break][break]
His hand reached back to close the door behind him. Once inside, his eyes gazed around, admiring the home he grew familiar with. Footsteps echoed through the house, as recognizable creaks breached his ears. His eyes flitted to see his sister bounding towards him. A light smile traced his lips as he watched her approach. He glanced over her, noticing the bandages around her knuckles; training marks. The young man decided against badgering and fretting since there were plenty of days where he returned home, battered and bruised from practice.
[break][break]
Secret undertones arrived with a simple question. It resulted in him pondering when he last spent time with members of his family. The busy nature of his work kept him away for extended periods of time.
[break][break]
"I should have enough time," he answered.
[break][break]
Offering time was easy, especially when freshly relieved for the time being. There was a moment to breathe and take recreation time in these instances. He wanted to take those precious moments before returning to the fray of the political atmosphere and discussions of the future and how to reach those goals.

Excitement was a little hard to contain, though she tried her hardest not to be too clingy. Being clingy was definitely not something that strong people displayed, and she wanted more than anything to be strong. It was true that she had rushed a bit much, though she could hardly find harm in those actions. She knew a lot has happened since they properly spent time together, probably more things than she could count. Oh wait, there it was! The familiar smile, indicating that she hadn’t bothered him at all. Could he possibly be pleased with a warm welcome home?
”That’s great. Maybe now you’ll get a chance to relax?” Her voice is a little bit on the teasing side, though it is also genuine in it’s sentiment. Working hard is a given and her brother excelled - but everyone needed a rest from time to time no matter how small. Willow had heard a cautionary tale about overworking one’s self - and it ended in a usually vigilant person failing to see the dangerous signs around him. No matter how strong or experienced you were, exhaustion would eventually catch you. She was determined to never let that happen to herself, or anyone that she cared about.
”Would you like some tea? I have several new blends that I’ve recently made myself. While it brews and while we drink it, we could catch up!” Having some tea and conversation was probably better than taking a walk, though if time allowed they could always do both. Since he just barely returned home though, this option offered the most rest. Her blends were safe and pleasant too, as she had already tested them herself. There was a lemongrass one with a slight tang, a soothingly sweet orange blossom based one…she was certain they’d be good enough!

[attr="class","wnubreakbody"] Moments of easement were rare for Enzo given the requirements of his occupation. Bound since birth to protect Morty, he took every second of his retainer work seriously. He struggled to believe breaks should be taken despite other guards insisting on the necessity. Responsibility outweighed health requirements for the young brunette, Enzo opting to proceed with his work. Thus, wariness frequently bordered his eyes, yet, was disguised by the outlandish sense of duty contained within.
[break][break]
Fortunately, Enzo appreciates these blissful moments of family connection more because of his obligations. A broad grin stationed itself on Enzo’s upon witnessing Willow’s bubbling anticipation for his time. There were instances where he wished more leisure time existed for his family, alas, his fixations were handed to Morty. Should his liege request his attention at any time, Enzo would be summoned to return to the castle and carry out his duties, especially given the status of their plans.
[break][break]
The teasing comments prompted a light-hearted chuckle, however, Enzo was aware of their truth. Throughout the days, he worked, through weariness and sickness without hesitation. Unless debilitated, the male serpent would press through without hesitation.
[break][break]
“For now, I will,” he answered, maintaining a light-hearted nature to the genuine sentiment.
[break][break]
Despite being dutiful, Enzo refused to worry his family about his working habits. His presence was crucial to assure that when the time arrived, Morty was prepared to lead this kingdom into a better era. Quietly, Enzo approached the kitchen table, taking his regular seat at the large dining table. While some of the older siblings moved out, the colossal table was required to seat them whenever there were family engagements.
[break][break]
“I would love some tea, Willow,” he happily chirped. “It will be great to catch up, but I haven’t been doing too much, unfortunately.”
[break][break]
Catch-ups were always an awkward conversation for Enzo Klyne. The entirety of his being was devoted to assisting and guarding his liege… At times, he worried he spoke about the upcoming heir beyond what people would handle. Alas, his everything belonged to the prince, each spoken word a holy gospel to the dutiful serpent. Yet, in the hanging awkwardness of exchanged words, he always powered through and maintained short speech to assure nobody got drained from hearing the same thing for the umpteenth time.
