Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
King blinked at the question, his tired mind making him speak more boldly than he might have otherwise.
"Runt, dog, Beast. Waste of space. Never really had a name. They called me 'King' when they entered me in dog shows."
He stopped in his tracks. Why had he said that? Why had he spoken so...bluntly. He was just tired. Yes tired. From days of not sleeping and eating. He certainly didnt feel safe. Right?
He had to actually think of what it meant to feel safe, and realized...he didnt know what that felt like.
Naturally, the woman requested the child's name for the regular formalities. Everything was playing out excellently inside the purple-haired golem's mind. The basic entry procedures would provide all the information they required, and everything checked out, he would gain a home under the guardian of the Battle Axes. A safe haven for the misfits and a place of questionable moral constitution. The bold answer provided by a simple question brought a raise to Naomi's brow as she side-glanced the young blond beside her.

After watching the pup cower away from low-level terrors, she was not expecting the brazen answer to leave his lips. The headstrong woman felt a smile touch her lips as a chuckle rumbled from the depths of her throat, quiet, but audible. She was amused by the attitude shift. Nonetheless, the final sentence that gave her something to work with furthered prompted curiosity from the golem. A young shifter entered in dog shows, it sounded like a fraud in the industry, but given the kid's age, she was hesitant to believe it was of his own accord; there was a chance, but slim.
[break][break]
"King, well I argue that makes you a fucking champion, eh?" She teased him gently with a grin. "Not a bad name, but eh, if you don't like it we can find something better for ya. I will say, wasn't expecting you to be involved in fraud."
[break][break]
A smile remained blossomed on Naomi's face as she kept leading the way. Her boots treaded against the sidewalk, echoing in her ears as she guided the child from the western area.
King paused. "My real parents dumped me at a hospital, after the first time i shifted. They were both human. I was adopted, but they wanted a pet, not a kid. They just didnt want to have to take care of a pet. Then once i grew out of my pup coat, and my adult coat came in, they figured i could win them some extra cash."
He blinked, it hurt to really talk about it, but also felt...not good, but well, like pulling a loose tooth.
"I won a lot of championships. Then a shifter judge came to a show, and realized what i was. My adoptive parents blamed me, and they moved out of the house, without me. I...could have gone to the people at the child protective office...but i dont want to do that. i wont do that."
He kept his pace up, but he was finding it a bit harder.
"I grew up eating dog food, and living like a dog. I'm not as strong as other shifters, or as fast, because i didnt the right food. And all that time, and no one ever noticed, or cared about what was happening."
In silence, Naomi listened to the young shifter's life story. A turbulent childhood brimming with parents who cared little about the well-being of the blossoming person inside. It struck a quiet cord with the dinosaur-like woman as she led him through the coming outskirts and shifting atmosphere. During her youth, she lived in a hellhole, suffering beneath careless parents. Without her grandparents, the young woman would have died younger than she had. Unfortunately, nowadays Naomi's occupation existed, a task to protect her little sister.
[break][break]
She would give no quarter to her parents nor would she allow them to lay a hand on her. No matter how hard they worked to break her down, the golem would not relent. Instead, she would protect Francisca for as long as possible, giving every inch of energy to the cause. Their stories were different, however, Naomi could sympathize with King's unwillingness to trust adults. After being maltreated, people became cynical and jaded to the efforts of others... Thus, she was happy to find him before anything worse happened to the young blond.
[break][break]
"Well, there won't be any prissy-ass dog shows where we're going," she assured. "You don't gotta do any that shit, but we'll likely find you a way to pull your weight, alright? So I hope you're ready to at least work a little kid. Might be just cleaning and stuff like that if you prefer."
[break][break]
Gang members would complain if the young man received a free pass, furthermore, his age suggested it would be time to instill responsibility into him. However, the tasks Naomi would provide were fixated on basic house chores. Nothing strenuous, but smaller things involving helping the other members and perhaps acting as an errand boy occasionally. Simple things that a child could easily accomplish without worry.
