apollo hardwin tell me reality is better than a dream. general info
appearance Graced with a favoured height of 6’1” alongside semi-broad shoulders has granted Apollo a somewhat intimidating physique. Through exercise, he has become a well-muscled man with a leaner build that manages to pack a punch. From a flat, ab-packed stomach to strong arms, he has made himself naturally strong. His abs carve deep lines across his stomach, making their presence obvious to anybody who takes a gaze upon them. The man’s flesh is fair in complexion, leaning slightly more on the tanned scale opposed to the pristine white. Years of work have prompted calloused hands because of his battleworn status. There are many minor scars across Apollo’s body, primarily accumulated around his knuckles and fingers from training. The remaining scars are littered across his flesh, all appearing more pale pink and worn with time. Strong facial features were granted to Apollo in his adult years. High cheekbones are perched beneath his eyes, these cheeks leading down into a strong, pointed chin. A pointed and upturned nose is placed in the center of his face. A striking feature of Apollo’s are the gorgeous amber eyes. When exposed to the light, his amber eyes gorgeously sparkle, possessing a unique and wild shine to them. This is especially evident when Apollo is in a fighting headspace, where his eyes glimmer at the chance to show his strength. Long locks of dark brown hair flow down from Apollo’s scalp, the edges of his hair possessing a bright blue tint. The ends at the back of his hair are entirely blue with a small strand of blue sometimes pointing up at the top flopping into his bangs. His hair is messy and oftentimes pointing out at random sections. As a lycanthrope, Apollo has two different variants to his forms. The first is the form of a dark brown wolf. The size of Apollo’s human form does make his wolf form bigger than the average given to wolves. Woven into Apollo’s course wolf pelt are small streaks of blue which is something that goes unnoticed due to being a part of the under-pelt. This is caused by his natural hair-colour. The other form of his lycanthrope species is the beastly side of the two. When in this form, Apollo became a bipedal wolf with many muscles, additional height and hair across his strong body. In this form, his blue flecks become a little more obvious across his back in the dark brown fur. Additionally, his nails transform into a lot of long claws. Clothing-wise, Apollo does indulge himself into the bad boy style. He tends to wear leather jackets and at times letterman jackets. Ripped jeans are common for Apollo, often being black-coloured jeans. At times, he will wear shirts with ripped edges at the bottom and clothing with chain styles. He does enjoy wearing chokers despite some teasing because it looks similar to a collar. personality
abilities Wolf/Beast Shifting -- Advanced The ability to transform into a wolf and/or a beast form. Constantly, the ability to shift into a wolf is available to Apollo. No matter the moon phase, Apollo can transform into his wolf form. Nonetheless, the man does not use his wolf form as frequently as his beast form. If anything, Apollo’s wolf form is used when he is upset. Acting as a habit manifested to angrily growl at himself. In wolf form, Apollo would be slightly faster with his enhanced speed, however, it is not used often. Meanwhile, Apollo’s beast form is a nasty creation he uses frequently. Oftentimes, he is known for partial shifting, giving him the claws required to rip through others. While his beast form is only accessible during moon phases that avoid the new moon. Around the new moon, his beast form is inaccessible, meaning he cannot reap the benefits of claws, his beast form and ultimately the improved strength he receives. When shifting, Apollo takes an extensive amount of time, caping out at 30 seconds and during this shift, he is entirely vulnerable. Enhanced Strength -- Mastered The ability to enhance the user’s strength, allowing them to be stronger than average. He is capable of accessing strength beyond that of regular individuals. Smoothly, Apollo can access this strength, allowing him to lift heavy objects and deliver hard hits against others. The power of his strength even allows Apollo to break walls and even people if they are reckless enough. As expected of a lycanthrope, his strength correlates with the moon. When the new moon phase comes, his strength dwindles down to the ability merely being considered “peaked”. While this means he will not have particularly powerful strength, it does allow him to deliver a relatively hard hit. Extensive use of his enhanced strength will result in Apollo’s muscles stiffening or becoming sore over time. This can result in a severe requirement for rest since as his muscles become sore, they will grow weaker in delivering hits. Enhanced Speed -- Mastered The ability to enhance the user’s speed, allowing them to be faster than average. Due to his species, Apollo can access speed beyond that of a regular individual. He can run at fast speeds, out sprinting people and delivering attacks capable of bombarding his opponent. This additionally allows Apollo to weave around attacks and dodge because of the intense nature of his speed. The intense nature of his speed can lead to Apollo experiencing momentum and smacking into walls unintentionally, this is regularly due to lapses in judgement and the belief he could ram the other person. Additionally, extensive use does similarly result in Apollo getting sore and stiff. This can lead to exhaustion in his legs and potentially difficulties in movement. Similar to all lycanthrope abilities, during instances of the new moon, Apollo cannot accomplish speed beyond peak during these instances. Naturals: Enhanced Endurance, Enhanced Senses, Immortality backstory weakness is a sin, and you were born weak. you do not deserve life. The Hardwin family consisted of gifted with plenty of unthreatening abilities. Immortality, Seancing and Psychometry, a curse granted to the family who believed a different narrative for the world. Believers of Zeredah and the prospects she supported, but their abilities would never earn them good graces among the crowds. Always among the final tended to, their worth viewed as lesser for their lack of strength and battle grace. While they would be long-lasting supporters, they would never survive the hellish atmosphere of the battlefield. Thus when Jessibelle and Flick Hardwin managed to marry and have a child, it was nothing short of a miracle. Everybody believed they would be greeted with the sinister shadow of Thanatos before being capable of raising a family of their own. They were among the weak and in Assembly of Phantoms fashion, they were alleged to fall beneath the overwhelming necessity for strength in the group. Their child gradually grew to term, eventually being birthed and granted the moniker Apollo Hardwin. Never had they thought about the struggles a young child would face in the circumstance of weakness without reward. Raised in a world perpetuating the terms of weakness and strength, Apollo possessed a destiny riddled with challenges. While his parents proclaimed the wonders of the world, bringing sparkles to his eyes, nobody thought about the horrors that awaited. Through his years of infancy and the beginnings of his childhood, Apollo thrived beneath the words of his parents. He was a content child, brimming with childish glee as he scurried about the halls of their family home. They played endless games with him and summoned a sense of happiness required to raise a child. However, darkness would greet young Apollo as he learned to realize the ineffective nature of being among the weaker when he entered school. The weak gifted boy would be mistreated by his fellow children. He would be shoved around and bumped into because of the circumstance involving his weakness. People treated Apollo similar to an outcast, a child born in weakness and raised by its beliefs, he was restricted by the world around him. Constantly, he would be informed of his weakness in snide comments and snarky words, and as a child of Zeredah’s malicious group, the teachers accomplished nothing to cease the torrent of rude comments. The years of his youth haunted Apollo as he was harassed and bullied without any hopes of those cruel actions ceasing. Whenever they concluded classes briefly for recess, Apollo would be shoved to the ground and toyed with through the entire time. They demeaned him and bullied him, making it impossible for Apollo to forge meaningful relationships with his fellow students. The young child was tortured, and every day he arrived home from school, the resentment towards his parents would start building. The people who assured his happiness at every turn were the people who confirmed his weakness, his doom to the malicious school children who happily played with their little toy. No matter how many woes he shared, his parents who long-lost their beliefs of respect, merely informed him it was how things worked. Weakness was not condoned and their abilities provided them no additional strength against the monstrous TRS who wished to uproot their beliefs. Whenever these notions were mentioned, Apollo discovered himself feeling useless in the wake of others. Everybody else possessed a destiny that assured them life and favour amidst the Assembly when the time arrived, but Apollo was merely fodder compared to them. High school only worsened matters as the individuals around him grew more aggressive in nature. Persistently, Apollo would be pushed around, slammed against lockers and even swung at. Constantly, he was forced to fight back and futilely defend himself against the drowning waves of superiority. Alas, with their abilities they always possessed an unfair advantage against Apollo. Wrists would grow bruised from constant pinning, his face would receive a similar treatment and his body would grow sore from the abuse. No matter what Apollo did, they never ceased their malicious tyrade of picking on the weaker. Additionally, his weakness resulted in Apollo being viewed as an outcast. He would be invited to nothing and nobody wished to create connections with the man viewed as a weakling. Over the hellish years, Apollo grew resentful of his parents for the cursed abilities he was gifted. He began snapping at them more and arguing constantly with his parents. He was angry being told everything happening was how the world was. The strong got stronger and the weak were beaten down before they could get the chance. After graduation, Apollo accomplished the expected and joined the Assembly of Phantoms, where he learned the horrors of his weakness further. As a soldier, Apollo discovered himself constantly at risk and injuries meant nothing in the eyes of AP. A weapon-bound worker, Apollo wished to fight for their cause, but every injury featured him being shoved aside for the stronger. In the grand scheme of everything, Apollo meant nothing to the organization as a fighter. Despite his wishes to prove otherwise, nobody would gaze upon him and assure value over his involvement. As an immortal, Apollo possessed no natural timeline, there would be no old age nor a retirement... Therefore, he was aware he would be captured in this twisted circumstance for centuries to come. The concept was difficult for Apollo to gripe with, those thoughts angering him. He wanted to be useful, he wanted to be strong, but at every turn he was proven weaker than those around him. Each injury proved him inferior to his fellow soldiers, a weakling amidst the powerful brutes changing the world. He craved the opportunity for more, the chance to prove them otherwise and with research, he found it. Questions would be asked around Aria Village, Apollo searching for a specific species that would grant him the things he wanted. A species he considered powerful because of the dual nature of their abilities. Ads were out and Apollo was determined to discover a strength he could not grasp with his present species. Over a few weeks, Apollo would find his solution to his problems with weakness. A meeting was arranged and Apollo was prepared to have everything changed to the manner he wished. Days before a full moon, the claws of a lycanthrope would grace Apollo’s shoulders. Through the pain he gritted his teeth and never uttered a complaint, for the massive marks were the only method to gain what he required. Each night featured changes in Apollo, his parents noticing every time they visited. At times, he acted more animal than man, devouring meat without a second thought and emitting low growls. His strength and speed possessed tweaks different from what was given from exercise. His abilities, other than his immortality, gradually faded away. The changes in their son confused them since Apollo never informed them of his decision to change species. Alas, as the full moon arrived, Apollo’s species would change from the humble gifted to the beastly state he craved. A weakling training to be stronger, Apollo Hardwin shifted from gifted to lycanthrope because of a soul willing to give him power. He could exhibit immense strength and run faster than the average person. Into a beastly form he could transform, and while he was dictated by the moon, there was power there. Upon learning his transformation, his parents were appalled by the circumstance of their child’s change. There was a snap taken towards Apollo’s parents, a subtle growl as he grew determined to gain power. His parents cowered away, the fresh lycanthrope realizing his influence in mere moments and flavouring his parents with a sinister grin. Already, he knew his trade was a worthy one. From there, Apollo separated from his parents, pushing around and snapping at others to flex his new abilities. Through the years of his Assembly of Phantoms service, Apollo became a nasty force on the battlefield.
