Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
{Click Me..}The candles on the long hallway lit instantly as a trio walked down it. Two were silent, listening to the third, the source of the candle's light. Roami, the Envoy of the Dark Market dressed in her special outfit to match spoke with a clear, warm, and authoritive voice. "Ozaeina, Amelia, remember that the Madame wants you both to study your STEM fundamentals and the Code of Thieves. There's to be no playing..." Roami stopped and turned to Amelia "Amy" Steele, arms behind her back in her usual stance but her blue gaze and the intensity of the candle fire made her message clear to the little girl; she wasn't messing around. "And there's to be no fighting..." Turning now to Ozaeina "Esa" Raunagi, she gave him the same stern look before continuing on, Ozaei grinning. "Of any kind. I hope I'm understood..." With that, Roami lead them to a large room filled with natural light from an unknown source. The room was decorated with a bookshelf, tables and two hallways leading to two seperate private rooms. Letting the children walk in, Roami smiled warmly at them. "I'll be down the hall to the right if you two need anything. Behave please, it's in all our interests."
The usurped queen then left, a door magically appearing to seal them in through a thick puff of smoke. The only thing that she left behind was two heated footsteps in the dirt.
Ozaei loudly groaned, stretching his arms behind his head before turning to stare at Amy, eyes narrowed and a huge grin on his face. He of course was dressed in the usual female Dark Market uniform because he had nothing else to wear: a plain black slit dress with red and yellow highlights. Somehow simple and elegant at the same time. Reaching into his pocket, he quickly whipped out something pure golden... a locket with the letter 'R' etched on it.
"What do you think Amy?! I told you I could do it! I told you!" He said, waving the locket in front of Amy proudly.

[attr=class,Amytextbox][attr=class,Amytext]Amelia Steele, a noble of the Dark Market, was having a day where nothing seemed to have that shimmer of excitement she craved. Usually she could find something entertaining to do in any situation, but as she followed Roami down the hall she found herself wishing she was anywhere else. It wasn't that she didn't like Roami, she was just being boring and pushing it off on Amy and Ozaei.
Amy still made a note to nod and go along with what the woman said. She was, after all, speaking on behalf of Dolores and Amy had a rare respect for Dolores that she didn't feel toward anyone else.
She perched herself on the edge of one of the tables when Roami led them into a room, looking like a picture of angelic innocence. She was still there when Ozaei pulled out a shiny locket. Normally that would have caught her interest, but today he'd have to do far better.
"Yeah well," she pouted, "That's just a locket. Anyone can steal a necklace. Besides, she was distracted by me so it doesn't count anyway." Despite the fact that she'd challenged him earlier, she now had no intention of acknowledging his accomplishment. She could have totally done that. She'd stolen far more precious things, and used better tactics too. When it came to pickpocketing, she was the master. No one that didn't know her expected it from her, and she'd had years of practice. Ozaei may have (supposedly) had talents for which Madame Dolores kept him around, but he certainly wouldn't beat her by challenging her personal strengths.
Her eyes scanned the room, landing on a globe sitting on one of the tables. She hopped off of her own perch and walked over to it. It was beige with gold outlines for all the countries. She trailed her finger along it and glanced back at Ozaei with a cheeky smile. "Roami wants us to be bored, but all she said was that I couldn't play and you couldn't fight. What do you say we break out of here and swap roles? I could pick the fights and you could do the playing?" Her eyes sparkled with mischief at what she thought was a perfect plan. They couldn't get in trouble when they weren't disobeying any direct orders.
Ozaei's eye twitched before burning a bright yellow. There was no way she was discrediting him, did she know how difficult it was to steal from a devil?! "Yeah well I didn't see YOU do it, showoff!" he retorted back, pouting with his fists on his hips in a very overly sassy manner, clearly agitated. "What bullshit..." his voice grew softer as he slowly remembered that Amy was right, this was only just a locket, just a necklace. He had seen Amy steal better, more valuable things, and Dolores gave her praise for it, treating him like thunder to her lightning. Every noble knew Amy might as well be an angel. How backwards it was...
Mind still a bit clouded, Ozaei viciously shook his head and followed Amy to another table after watching her move towards it. A role swap? That was a great idea... again his eyes burned a bright yellow. "Yeah! That's perfect! I'm a genius!" Ozaei said loudly, taking credit for the idea that wasn't even his with a big grin. "Let's do it! But! No offense but I don't think girls like you can fight for crap." Shrugging, Ozaei walked over to the other side of the globe. A weird thing to say when he was the one in the dress, but his point still stood. "Other than that, my plan is perfect."

[attr=class,Amytextbox][attr=class,Amytext]Amy lazily spun the globe around. She'd been made to learn where Canada was, the general location of the dark market. Her finger trailed a little to the west of that. She wasn't sure exactly where her faekin colony was, but she always imagined as though it was a little dot on the map. Like if she found where it was she could just look at that spot and remember her home. It was getting harder and harder for her to want to remember. It hadn't been much fun there.
Her eyes lifted to Ozaei as he approached the new table. "Girls like me?" she bristled. She narrowed her mismatched eyes, but behind them was still a levity that betrayed she was still playing around. "What the hell is that supposed to mean? Girls like me. I can fight just as well as anyone else." She placed a hand on her hip. What did he even mean? That girls couldn't fight or that she looked too small? Or worse, too innocent. She'd had that problem a lot more when she'd first gotten to the market. Her face made her look like a baby and she hated it.
"And I'm super intimidating too!" Her chin lowered slightly and she hardened her eyebrows to glare at him. Then she let out what she considered to be a very scary "Rawr!" After all, lions were scary so saying rawr had to be scary too.
"See," she said haughtily, "I just don't fight becaaaaause..." Because the very idea made her stomach turn uncomfortably? Because she didn't think it was worth hurting another living being? These were things she could never say out loud because she didn't want Dolores to know they were true. "Because it would mess up my hair." She flipped a few unbrushed locks of golden hair over her shoulder as she spoke.
Ozaei stared at Amy with a fierceness unseen before. According to him. "Yes. Girls. Like. You. You wouldn't kill a fly, did I stutter?!" he asked angrily, not believing a word she was saying. "Lies. You're protected by Madame. Sure sure maybe you can fight a little better than most people because fucking doh you're in the market, but me? That devil gal with the dumb attitude? Not to mention me and me? NOPE. I'm fast as fuck boi." Pounding his chest and putting his hands on his hips, he smiled condescendingly at Amy, half knowing his fighting skills relied solely on his speed and charging things up and without it there wasn't much he could do. "You're a damn doll. N-Not that it's a bad thing."
After hearing her intimidating roar, he froze for a solid second before bursting out laughing, falling to the floor and needing the table to help him stand back up. "Sure, sure, hair, sure..." Ozaei said, mocking her by flipping his own shorter hair behind absolutely nothing because it wasn't that long.
"But uh let's fix whatever the fuck that roar was later m'kay? Kay, now gimme your spare clothes. We're switching places right?!"

[attr=class,Amytextbox][attr=class,Amytext]Amy placed an indignant hand on her hip. Wouldn't kill a fly? She'd killed larger than flies. Like chickens and rabbits. Her faekin colony had been fairly cut off from civilization and kept their own livestock. But those weren't the examples that spilled out of her mouth. "I-I have killed multiple flies, thank you very much!" she snapped. In her anger her face had taken on a reddish tone, making her already not-so-intimidating glower a even less fierce. Not that she'd ever admit it. As far as she cared she was the scariest person out there. "I've even killed few mosquitos! And a spider too!" She listed off her accomplishments as though they actually added up to much of anything. "I bet you haven't killed a spider! They're big and scary and have lots of legs." An involuntary shudder went through Amy. She didn't have the sense to be scared of much, but spiders were an exception.[break][break]"My spare clothes?" she asked. Not really certain what he meant, she removed the pink cotton cardigan from over her dress and the sparkly bracelet she'd put on that morning and handed them to Ozaei. She was pretty sure that was all the 'spare' clothing she had on her. She needed the rest of it. Actually, she probably should have held onto the cardigan, but she refused to reveal just how cold she was without it by taking it back. Not to Ozaei. He'd think she was weak and she'd lose all the progress she'd just made proving she was a fierce force of nature, a point she was pretty sure she'd gotten across fairly well.[break][break]"Does that mean I have to be Ozzy and you have to be Amy?" She tilted her head slightly and watched him curiously. "Because if you're Amy you'd be picking that lock by now. Did she lock it? It seems kinda silly to lock it when anyone can open it anyway." The words came out of her mouth in a single, slightly nonsensical line of babble.
Again freezing only to burst out in laughter again, Ozaei fell over through his own amusement, slowly getting back up to his feet. "Aww that's so god damn cute. Didya kill a baby bee too? Or a mouse? I bet you also killed gnat with a electric racket! God..." Looking over for just that, he spotted a daddy longleg near a table. Electricity cackled as he quickly retrieved it, dropping it near her and returning to his original spot. Pointing to it, he smirked. "I could. Bet ya didn't even see me move."
Taking the spare clothes he put them on over his own, clapped on the bracelet, and sent a wave of static through his hair to make it more straight. Inspecting himself, a huge smile engulfed his face. "Huh. I rock this look better than you do, Pacifist Amy."

[attr=class,Amytextbox][attr=class,Amytext] Amy felt her cheeks heating up as Ozaei laughed at her. She crossed her arms over her chest and glared at him. She could be scary. She could- Suddenly Ozaei had dropped a dead spider in front of her and she yelped and jumped back. “Don't do that!” she snapped. [break][break] “I’m not a pacifist!” she insisted. “And you’ve got the hair all wrong. Here!” she took the pony tails from her own hair and moved to fix Ozaei’s in her standard fashion. “Do you even know how to act like me?” she asked skeptically.
For another time Ozaei burst into a laughing fit, clearly amused by her response to the deceased spider. "If you're that upset about the spider being dead you could give it CPR! Whatdoya say?!"
His laughter ceased when she moved in to fix his hair, confused at how it could get any better; Ozaei assumed a small touch up wouldn't kill him. "Thanks... I guess..." they said slowly. "Uh yeah I do! Did you forget I have to act like Madame Dolores when out and about?! Besides... you're all flimsy and loopy and... not fast. It'll be easy-peasy." He finished with a big smile.
