Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!

A
loving home full of children who never failed to put a smile on his face. The winter holidays whenever they came around did Nitzan always look forward to spreading cheer throughout the home of his family. It hadn't always been this way for the oni. He grew up rarely even getting the opportunity to celebrate this holiday with anyone. It'd was like any other day up until his relationship with his husband had formed. His first experience in celebrating Christmas was with him... and through him was he able to realize the joy and love such day brought. [break][break]
Warm memories flooded his mind and made his heart fill rapidly with love all over again. Adonai had the luxury of showing him what made it so important to spend that holiday celebrating. Such joy stuck to him and after they had gotten married had his knowledge of family traditions and what exactly went on during the winter holiday's grow. When their children came into the picture it was enough motivation for Nitzan to go out of his way to guarantee the month was full of festivities. Memories he knew his children would cherish and love for the rest of their lives. [break][break]
It's why he began picking up how to sew although his capabilities were poor and the results were tacky sweaters that didn't look too terrible in his eyes but unfortunately was the truth. Over the years had his skill improved but still, he was no master. Even now were his fingers were covered in bandages at random spots, the prodding of needles was indeed a very dangerous thing but the outcome was worth all the pain to the oni. [break][break]
Having finished the last of the sweaters the night before meant it was time for them to go into the last of their errands they had to get to. Last minute shopping was achieved earlier within the day and all that remained was the biggest challenge for Nitzan out of them all: wrapping the presents. Nitzan was an extremely capable individual, a bounty hunter with quite the admirable strength but to think... his weakness consisted of cutting and trying to put colorful winter-themed paper onto a box was hilarious.[break][break]
It was too good to be true and yet here he was-- tape messily covering the fingers of his left hand as his other moved to scratch his head. "Honey..." He mumbled in defeat as he looked at the poorly wrapped gift before him. "Are you sure it's okay for me to be helping you out with these?" So much for labelling from Santa. The kids knew his work whenever they see it![break][break]
"I do such a poor job... and the kids! Oh they'll know right away..." dejected, he sighs once more as he lets the slightly crumbled red wrapping paper fall back down to the floor.

[attr="class","cobbody"]Christmas, a holiday designed for the spreading of cheer and the mantra of generosity being crucial. Through Lorsette, colourful lights twinkled across the rooftops and people decorated trees in the name of celebration. While some celebrated other avenues or none at all, Christmas was a staple of joy inside the Blane household. The sheer size of the seemingly ever-expanding Blane family made the holiday a monumental date. Though, instances of the entire Blane family conjugating in a single location were spread out to avoid overwhelming one another.
As a year for the calmer Christmas events, Adonai was comfortable accomplishing a little last-minute shopping and gift wrapping. Fortunately, the shopping went smoothly with their early attendance at Lorsette's shopping centers. The conclusion of their shopping journey inevitably led them to the hard-surfaced kitchen table with boxed presents, Christmasy wrapping paper, a knife and tape. The rigorous task of wrapping paper tight around boxes was something that failed to defeat Adonai, rather, he learned to crisply fold the decorated paper.
The merman's green eyes were fixated on the small box he decided to tackle as the first of many presents. Estimated measuring was accomplished, Adonai bringing the paper's edge to the box's center. Mental notes swirled through his head as the perfectionist adjusted the amount of used wrapping until finally satisfied. Straight-lined folds were made at the adjusted length before Adonai grabbed the metallic handle of the kitchen knife. Carefully, he brought the edge close to cut down the folded line, manifesting a straighter cut.
The pair of edges were folded over the box, a piece of pre-cut tape being grabbed from the table edge. Once secure, he leaned over, pressing one of the wider edges down before folding the sides in. Finally, the remaining edge was folded and tapped. Once he flipped the box, the automatic process was continued until an excellently wrapped present "from" Santa sat before him. A satisfied smile traced Adonai's lips, though his triumph was interrupted by a soft mumble. The merman's gaze shifted to his husband, discovering him tape covered and with a questionably wrapped gift.
A gentle smile carved onto his face followed by a small, breathy laugh. A few steps were taken towards Nitzan, Adonai's fingers soon plucking tape from his husband's fingers.
"It's not that bad dear," he assured. "You tried, but your wrapping is... distinct. Although, if you're against wrapping, perhaps I could fold and you can tape?"
The quiet suggestion was meant for assistance with alleviating the worries in folding the "Santa gifted" presents without disheartening the redhead. While Adonai adored the man who assisted with the acquiring of holiday traditions, he recognized Nitzan's subpar wrapping skills. Nonetheless, the green-haired merman wished to work alongside his precious husband. Holidays were suggested by him, though, learned together and forged into traditions. It made accomplishing the littlest things together with a magnificent experience for the father.
If Nitzan never entered his life those many years ago, Adonai was uncertain of where his life would have led him. Alas, his mind in a negativistic moment suggested possibilities of never-ending loneliness. A world devoid of his delights of children and marriage, one where he stuck in that office and fixated on the requirements of being serious... One where he never slipped his number in Nitzan's information envelope. The sheer thought irked him as memories surfaced of the hundreds of nights he spent with the redhead.
Had the strings of connection never formed between them, Adonai believed those bottles would have never opened. The transformation resulted from Nitzan's entrance created the man he became. The pair affected one another, a pair of lonely hearts wishing to survive in a cruel world. Thoughts were pushed away as Adonai grabbed the sheet of sticker tags and glanced over it. His eyes landed on a blue tag with a small, smiling snowman which would match the white and blue snowflake wrapping paper. Promptly, it was peeled and stuck onto the present on the single, unfolded side in the center.

itzan could only glance over to the magnificent treat besides him- and no, he wasn't referring to his husband. He was fixated on the gift the love of his life had so expertly wrapped in perfection. The way the paper sculpted the box full of goodies their children were sure to go off about. The oni pouts much akin to a child when he returns to looking at his horrible abomination. How Adonai managed to do that was unknown to him, no matter how many times the green hair male taught him. Even grabbed him by the hands on year and aided him in making a better than average wrapped gift, he still wasn't able to retain any of it! [break][break]
"Hey!" He whines upon hearing his comment. "Somehow I feel just outright saying my wrapping is bad is a lot more nicer than saying it's distinct." Nitzan whimpers and finds himself sulking all the more as he retrieved the sticker tag off one of his fingers. He placed it on the corner of present with a gentle pat. Hugo would undoubtedly know that this gift right here was done by none other than Nitzan himself upon seeing it. A defeated sigh escaped his lips as he turned his gaze back over to his husband. "Is that all I'm good for... being the one assigned to tape?" He was being all the more dramatic now but Nitzan gently pushed the gaudy wrapping paper to the side.[break][break]
Despite his insistent whimpering and dramatic behavior he still looked forward to wrapping gifts like this every year with his husband. If it weren't for him, he probably would've never had the opportunity to celebrate the holiday to begin with. His family never really were the type to make a big deal out of holidays and in the beginning it had taken Nitzan a lot to understand why it was important. When the door opened and everything just made sense- he found a newfound appreciation for the holidays. Wanting to go over the top with decorating and embarrassing family memories that he knew their kids were cherished. [break][break]
It's why he worked so hard sewing matching Christmas sweaters, it's why he was so insistent on becoming the world's best wrapper too. His kids deserved the best- and he wanted to them to live happy lives that they could look back on. Nothing like him or Adonai had to go through. It was something the both of them mutually agreed on so Nitzan took it to heart. "Say if I wrapped myself horribly in wrapping paper, would you still accept me as your gift?" He mumbled softly as he plucked more tape off the wheel and onto his fingers, waiting for his husband to steal.[break][break]
He took a quick glance around to guarantee it was just them around for him to make a further comment, and once he acknowledged that they were he spoke in a far more quieter tone. "Maybe without some articles of clothing as well." He muses. "Or one of those horribly skimpy santa outfits." He laughs in amusement at the idea. "Actually, sweetie. How much would I have to beg for you to wear that?" His mind had taken an inappropriate turn but Nitzan regretted it not one bit- it had him nearly holding his stomach in laughter.[break][break] "You would look really good, I think."

[attr="class","cobbody"]The intentions of Adonai's words were always to uplift his dearest husband. After centuries of bottling and walling off people, Nitzan managed to bring everything to a halt. Before they began dating, the green-haired man never imagined how much he may have required the redhead. Since their relationship and subsequent marriage, Adonai could never visualize a life without Nitzan. Thus, no matter the circumstance he attempted to inspire jubilee within his husband and provide endless words of encouragement for him to soak up.
Every crisp fold allowed the wrapping paper to press itself against the frame of the box. Efforts to learn proper folding consisted of harsh scrutiny and steady learning of tactile fingers. Unfortunately, Adonai's husband struggled with accomplish the swiftly accomplished Christmas craft of present wrapping. The distinctive wrapping of his husband was recognizable, though, Adonai still discovered concepts to admire about Nitzan. No matter how many years he struggled with the complex task of wrapping, the redhead never relented.
Each year his dearest beloved would attempt the craft again and following the tradition, Adonai guided him. The whimpering jab at his soothe was immediately noticed. A soft frown touched the merman's face.
"Honey, I'm sure you can do it... Do you want me to show you again? Or maybe we could work together on one present at a time?" The green-haired man suggested to his redheaded lover. "And you are good for many things, my dear. Not just tape."
The amount of love Adonai felt towards Nitzan was neverending. No matter how many times he showed him, for his husband's sake, he would teach him to wrap Christmas presents over and over again. He craved the positive smile to light his beloved's face, rather than the disparaging expression of a man struggling. Wandering steps brought Adonai closer to Nitzan's side, the taller man leaning down and rewarding him with a chaste cheek kiss. As he pulled away, a gentle grin stretched across his countenance.
"I can show you again, it may take some time, but I know you will get it," Adonai told him with a voice brimming with sugar.
The smile remained on his face as Adonai picked up the wrapped present, placing it into the pile of finished Santa presents. Despite their children entering the age where Christmas' mystic faded, the father of many enjoyed continuing the traditions. It was a pleasant addition to the giving spirit around them on the day. From the pile, Adonai plucked one of the less box-like pieces with a sigh.
"Well, this one is getting a bag... All these grooves are beyond difficult to wrap," Adonai vexed.
The item was placed on the table as Adonai turned to the small box of wrapping paper, boxes and bags the pair collected. He plucked a small, red-stringed bag with a jolly Santa on the front. Quickly, the green-haired man opened up the bag, putting the flimsy cardboard holder at the bottom. The item was placed inside, being padded with socks purchased for the same child. Afterwards, he stole the tape from his husband's finger, shutting the bag closed in the process. Though the comment made by his husband prompted a soft chuckle and shake of the head.
"I would accept you no matter how you came, Nitzan," he responded quietly. "I love you."
Perhaps the hint went unnoticed until the additional details reached his ears... however... as Nitzan embellished on his words, a soft rose colour dusted the green-haired man's cheeks. The abrupt turn to inappropriate thoughts arrived out of the left-field, but Adonai was not disgusted by the notion.
"Perhaps if we get some alone time Christmas eve we can have a little treat," the merman told his husband. "For now, we should leave that conversation to the bedroom. You know how our children are. They can truly come out of nowhere. But I will let you know, I am not opposed to giving you that as a Christmas gift."
A smile played across Adonai's face as he spoke to his husband. Unfortunately, despite the vague nature of their conversation, the pair required particular caution. They sired many children over their years, and those kids managed to be sneaky at times. Thus, any lustful conversations required closed doors and hushed voices to avoid the corruption of young minds.
