Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
I'm afraid that won't be possible. There is much I need to do.
But so you know I am safe I'll send you scenery pictures. Remember what I said, no harm will come to you.
I intend to do nothing but keep you safe.

I have every intention of returning to you. I can teleport to your location so long as you send me a picture. But no one else must know about this.
First, I am going to speak with Hanzo and inform him that I'll be leaving for the day in order to collect Sphene. So, I maybe an hour depending on how fast that conversation can go. Are you all right with this? I meant what I said before, we're in everything together. I will not do anything you are not comfortable with.
I mentioned to you about my younger brother, Sphene. He's important to me and I would be very happy if you both got along.
Will you promise me that you'll protect him as I promise to keep you safe?

You could come to me as well. I'll have to teach you how to draw the hex. But so long as I can see it I can summon you to me. I intend to use teleportation hexes to move around the house and be Josuah when needed. I imagine at first things will be hectic, but soon everyone will learn that Josuah Ardel is merely your keeper.
I also wanted to have some legal work done where you will be given more power despite your age. This should help with you making more decisions while I'm posing as my younger self.
I... like the name Sphene. That's one of my favorite gems.
I'll have to meet him first. I don't know how I'll feel about him. But, if you're protecting me, then I will... protect him.

How come you didn't want anyone in my family to see what you really look like? How did you find out that we were Soulmates? And that my parents knew?
Attached Picture: We both know that wouldn't work. But I wish the same. As for your questions...it is a long story. My species has an ability called enhanced beauty, it's passive and uncontrollable. When I am without disguise people are drawn to me, it can range from friendship to sexual.
I suffered a great deal growing up because of this ability and that coupled with my fear of ever feeding from others...it caused me to hide myself and ensure contact with others was completely forbidden.
My mother was the one to tell me that I had a soulmate. As a child my health started to decline because I wouldn't feed from even my own parents which was unusual. This caused a great deal of doctor visits until we were informed by a Cherubim that my only hope of survival was to find my soulmate.
My mother dedicated her life to that and I never gave up that search, but I didn't succeed either. Your parents sent me a letter, with a picture of you...and that's all I needed to know what you were to me. Though, they did further confirm it through the letter.
I've lived years with my disguise...and created a detachment to my real image. It was a way of protecting myself, but with you by my side...it feels natural for the first time in my life to be myself.
I'm glad that you like his name. I trust you two will get along. How peculiar, his favorite animal is also a deer.

I love you, Josuah. But you probably already know that since we’re soulmates. I’m sorry for everything you had to go through all of these years… I don’t want either of us to ever be apart again.
I’ll show him the deer that frequent the gardens near the forest, then. Maybe we will get along after all.
I look forward to you two meeting. I will be leaving shortly in order to fetch him. As I told you before, I'm merely your keeper until you are of age. I will keep myself safe to ensure no one can get to you since it was your parents wish for me to be that shield for you.
Attached Picture: I know that you do, but seeing it written or hearing it from your voice is still so very special to me. I've loved you long before we've even met. Being soulmates maybe a burden to others who will never know such a deep connection, but for me it has always been the greatest part of my life.
Our life is together now and nothing in the world can change that. I need to speak with Hanzo now, so it may be awhile before I can message you. It would be good if you could collect some clothes for me while I am my younger self. And write a list of all the things we'll do together.
Well… thank you for keeping me safe and putting such importance into my parents wishes. I promise, then, that I will take good care of your brother whenever we are together.

Hanzo is definitely suspicious about what’s going on between me and you, and our lengthy conversations and time together. He’s probably worried that you are black mailing me or coercing me in some way to be compliant. Either that or that you are convincing enough to fool me into believing your good intentions.
Maybe when Sphene comes we can also go out shopping for clothes. I have clothes to share with him, but it would be nice to pick out clothes specifically for him from a clothing store. And we can… have some treats too, like ice cream or fudge from some specialty shops…
I know we have to be careful so we’d bring Hanzo and other guards if necessary...
It pleases me greatly to hear that. But I must go now, Hanzo and I have a few things to discuss. I will send you one last image though.
Attached Picture: I will admit that it will always be hard for me to...accept Hanzo is apart of your life. But from everything you have said he seems like someone who has taken care of your during my absence. I will do my best to always remember that.
And yes, we will go shopping. If all goes according to plan then prepared to be called to your father's study. I intend to be honest to Hanzo about my company being heavily restricted. Remember you must not act interested in me any more.
