Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
Eli moved quickly around his apartment. It wasn't so much as him rushing as it was him moving with a purpose. He was late. Very late. He even called into work to let them know. They weren't extremely concerned about it but definitely annoyed by the fact that he was currently missing from the station. However, moving with a purpose didn't mean that it wasn't at some times clumsy. He had already tripped over his cat and spilled coffee all over his first set of clothes, which was supposed to be the only set.
He took a sip of his second cup of coffee, set it down on an end table, and headed back towards his closet. Eli sifted through a pile of clean clothes, slipped on his new shirt and made his way to the door.
Forgetting to feed his cat, Biscuit, he turned around to pour a quarter cup into her bowl before saying, "See you later, Kit," and heading back towards the door to toss on his coat. However, instead of eating her food and just having a good day at home, she ran right past him and flew through the door. "Biscuit! Come back." Eli said following her out his door, not even bothering to lock it behind him.
A squirrel had been the culprit. Of course he couldn't live somewhere that had another door- his went directly outside. She turned a corner and then somehow lost her. He definitely wasn't getting to work on time today. Of course, work was important, but not as important as his cat right now. He just hoped he would find her soon.

Mahogany eyes peered into the screen of a cell phone as Alida viewed her reflection in the selfie cam. A rather troubled grimace marred her otherwise youthful appearance while she idly played with the wisps of her blond hair and felt particularly irritated by the fact that today would be her second day attending high school with all of her demonic traits concealed away. Alida had lived all eighteen years of her life with horns atop her head that now she felt particularly unsettled and naked without them. Her hair looked so goddamn plain, too, without all the shiny and intricate jewelry she usually decorated her demonic asset in.
A heavy and dejected sigh parted from her mouth, becoming a puff of fog within the cold winter air, as she pocketed her cell. She never thought that she would wish such a thing, especially after being given a taste of what she had always thought she had wanted, but she sorely wished for the return of her father and brother. Even if it meant complications… eh, well she just hoped that it wouldn’t mean complications. Volos, if her life in Lorsette became a replica of Corner Brook, well then she’d just have to re-think all of this. Which was worse — hiding her demon assets or living in a world where everyone knew exactly what she was? The thought alone was enough to cause a shiver to roll down her spine.
Alida drew from her thoughts when her gaze caught the sight of a colorful and fluffy cat, looking far too preened to be an ordinary outdoor housepet, bounding through the snow in chase of a squirrel. The eighteen year old didn’t think much of it beyond her initial thoughts, but when the feline spotted her and padded through the snow of the yard to greet her at the sidewalk, meowing cutely, Alida couldn’t help but pause to give her attention.
She had some sort of strange magnetism when it came to cats. Her best friend, Felicia, had a cat and she experienced the same draw of attention from him as well. “Aww, you’re just adorable,” Alida chuckled softly after petting the cat for a moment, and then even scooped her up into her arms. While some cats were apparently drawn to her, that in no way meant that Alida was a good or patient owner. Apparently, according to Felicia, she coddled them far too much, to the point of being overbearing, where they would eventually run away and need space.
Eli had run out of his apartment so quickly that he had forgotten his cell phone, his to-go cup of coffee, and the pain medication that he desperately needed for his pounding headache. Perhaps he should have just stopped at one drink the night before, but he was having a good time and it wasn't like it was something he did everyday.
Of course, as he trudged along in the cold calling out for Biscuit, he realized that once he found her he would be going back home anyway and be able to grab everything he was missing. Eli wondered if anyone thought he was crazy running around in the cold calling out for a biscuit with just a light sweatshirt on to keep him warm. He thought that chances were probably good.
"She couldn't have gotten too far..." He mumbled to himself as his eyes searched. A gust of cold air hit him again and he wished that his power would keep him warm. As Eli was making a mental note to try and work on that, vaguely wondering if it would even be possible, he caught eye of a girl picking up Biscuit. He let out a small eye of relief and made his way towards her.
He lifted his hand into a small wave as he got closer, "I'm so glad that you found her," He said sounding relieved. It was far too cold for a cat to be lost outside.

The bright smile that had lit Alida’s face noticeably dimmed at the sudden presence of the dark haired male. While her cheer grew sober and the man approached with a smile and a sigh of relief, Alida began to glance him over. On the tall side, he held a good, healthy build and his appearance was human with nothing visible on the surface to warn of anything out of the ordinary.
Alida hadn’t adapted yet to Lorsette’s way of life, having grown up in a predominantly hellish demographic, and thus every meeting in this new town often gave her a moment of speculation and unease. However, nowadays she was feeling more confident (of course, with the exception of her concealment charm, ugh). The result of living here for three weeks had resulted in her meeting many people, all of whom had been non-threatening— with the exception of a couple middle school bullies— and it had left her feeling safer with these sort of interactions.
“Oh? She’s your cat?” Alida inquired curiously while giving the fluffy, multi-colored, feline a plethora of pets and conversed simultaneously. “Biscuit?” She echoed the name she had overheard and now realized it had been the male calling out for his cat. And by the looks of his attire, he had left his house in a hurry. She could smartly assume then that Biscuit had gotten out when she hadn’t been supposed to.
“Glad I caught her, then,” She chuckled and then gifted the man his cat by returning her to him. “Right in the nick of time too, apparently,” She went on with a laugh as she blatantly motioned toward his state of dress.
Eli didn't recognise the girl who found his cat, but he was very thankful that she picked her up. He couldn't even imagine not finding Biscuit out in this cold- to say that he would have been upset would have been an understatement. He had Biscuit for quite some time and he was more like his kid than a pet.
She asked if she was his cat and he nodded as she pet Biscuit. Honestly, it looked like Biscuit was quite enjoying the attention. He guessed it wasn't too surprising. Biscuit did like people most of the time- though she seemed to be warming up more quickly than normal. "Yeah, that's her name." He confirmed witha small smile in her direction.
"I am too," He nodded, gladly accepting his cat back from the girl. She was a bit upset to be back in his arms, but she was warmed up after a few seconds. "I really owe you. I would have been so upset if she got away."
He looked down at his state of clothing and it was sort of lacking, "Oh," He laughed a bit, "Yeah, my morning's been a bit of a mess."

The dark haired male voiced his similar opinion over her catching Biscuit in the nick of time, and hearing him say as much broadened her smile. “I really owe you,” He added. “I would have been so upset if she got away.” He let out a light chuckle in regards to his clothes and admitted that his morning had been quite the mess.
“Y’know,” Alida mused aloud while looking at Biscuit, “I think I’m turning out to be a cat person,” But, when she brought her mahogany gaze back to the tall man she belatedly realized that she had blurted irrelevant nonsense. “Yeah, Lorsette’s winter has really settled in, hasn't it?” She spoke up more on topic, a grin holding her smile, and both of her hands shoved into the pockets of her coat. “A lot of people find it way too cold.”
She let out a light chuckle as she motioned toward him again. “But hey, don’t let me keep you out here.”
Eli smiled when the girl said that she might be becoming a cat person. He felt like Biscuit had that effect on people, though perhaps he was a bit bias on the subject. Even though she went running out of the door, overall, she was probably the best cat he had ever had. Plus, it helped that she was fluffy.
He nodded at her words. It definitely was cold outside. It was times like these that he wished he was better at making fire out of nothing, but he knew today he probably couldn't get more than a spark and there was no use in tiring himself out. He would just be chilly. "Yeah, it's gotten quite cold out lately," he agreed, "I can't wait until it warms up. I guess I'm one of those people." Eli added with a small laugh.
She said she didn't want to keep him and although he knew he needed to go to work, he felt like he should thank her for catching Biscuit. He wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight if she went missing in the cold.
"I really appreciate you catching her," He started with a small smile, "I have to get to work soon, but I would love to make it up to you." He wasn't sure quite how- coffee or something? He didn't really know what you were supposed to do in a situation like this.
