appearance Human form: When most people first meet Hugo they assume he hatched from a dinosaur egg. This monster of a man stands 6'3" tall and is built like a tank. Naturally, he has a solid, muscular build to his towering toned physique. Hugo is as pale as they come; you'd swear he was a vampire. This is due to his body's natural ability to absorb ultraviolet rays. Instead of creating melanin, his body turns it into energy and warmth. If it wasn't for his reptilian DNA he'd surely get a decent tan. Much like the scales in his dinosaur form, his hair is also deep red. This is one of the few traits he gained from his father. Hugo's eye are a dark blue color. His pearly whites are pointed and incredibly sharp. They almost look like the teeth of a shark. This reptile is anything but fashion savvy and feels quite comfortable in regular blue jeans and a white t-shirt. However, Hugo tends to wear darker attire during the winter months. This choice of clothing helps to absorb more of the sun’s rays. Jackets with multiple pockets are preferred, as they can hold heat packs. Hugo carries himself with the confidence of an apex. He isn't one to lower his gaze around others, and makes it a point to keep eye contact when talking with someone. His stance is held in the same regard. He isn’t one to slouch or lower his head. Hand movement and gestures are direct and precise. Whether it be in his walk or his stance Hugo isn’t the type of guy to show weakness, no matter the circumstances. Dino form: They don't call the Tyrannosaurus Rex the king of dinosaurs for nothing, you know? Rexes ruled over the cretaceous period with their hefty scaled bodies, powerful legs, and strong jaws. They were the apex animal of that time and, as far as appearances go, Hugo’s rex form looks just as intimidating as his prehistoric counterparts. This colossal dinosaur stands as tall as a house with weight to match. The lizard's skin is rough and coarse to the touch. Some would compare it to leather while others would swear his skin felt more like sandpaper. Sitting on top of his rugged flesh are layers of deep red scales. These scales cover his entire body from the top of his head, to the bottom of his three-toed feet. Thicker scales line his head, back, and tail - while smaller, more flexible scales line his chin, neck, and stomach. These scales may become darker or discolored during certain times of the year. Much like a regular reptile, Hugo must also shed his skin in order to grow. However, unlike a snake, he sheds in patches. personality
abilities [Dinosaur physiology] As the name suggests, this grants the user the strength and instinct of a long extinct apex predator. In Hugo's case, he has the inherent power of a colossal theropod known as the Tyrannosaurus Rex. This ability relies heavily on brute force and close quarters combat. [Rex Shifting] Hugo can shift into this terrifying form at will. It will only take him a few seconds to complete the transformation. This beast is forty-four feet long and fourteen feet tall. Hugo boats some impressive weaponry in this form. A large rock hard skull houses powerful jaw muscles and rows of 12" long serrated teeth. These pearly whites were designed to cut and tear through the flesh of large animals with ease. If trained on a human, his teeth would completely rip through them like a hot knife through butter. If his sharp teeth did not kill you, his jaw strength surely will. He is capable of crushing and bending steel beams with those powerful jaws of his; it wouldn’t take much effort at all to crush a human sized being. A long powerful tail counterbalances his large head. When Hugo walks, you will hear him coming. This beast’s thunderous foot falls can be heard from blocks away, especially when he runs. Not everything on this creature is designed to destroy and maim. Take his arms for example, unlike his other body parts, these small arms are completely useless. He cannot use them for grasping, and they are too weak to help push him up when he is knocked over. While in this form, he has access to a heightened sense of smell. This rex has the nose of a bloodhound. Just like his prehistoric ancestors, he too has a larger than normal olfactory bulb in his brain. This allows him to not only detect an array of scents, but pheromones as well. Hugo is capable of memorizing smells of certain individuals he's met. Weakness: The cold, as well as ice attacks, are Hugo's main weakness, and the absolute bane of his existence. Being a coldblooded creature, he lacks the ability to regulate his own body temperature. If he doesn't wish to freeze to death he has to be warmed by an outside source. When Hugo is in a cold environment, he will become sluggish and stiff; he will eventually be unable to move his body very well, if at all. If Hugo remains in the cold for too long without warmth his body will completely shut down. This weakness affects his human form as well as his dinosaur one. Deep water can be very troublesome as Hugo cannot swim. While in human form he will tread water until he drowns. In his tyrannosaurs form he will simply sink like a rock. The sight of large bodies of water will make him feel uneasy. Hugo has a hard time getting up when he falls over. T-Rex arms are useless. He has to pivot his body and use his large head just to stand. This process will take a minute or two, leaving him open to attack. If Hugo is put to sleep, or gets knocked out, he will revert to his human form and will be unable to transform again for at least two days or longer if he is heavily injured. The city is no place for a giant lizard. Hugo has a hard time navigating small spaces while in this form, especially when he wants to avoid hurting other people. [Strong Jaws] Most of Hugo's strength lies in his mouth. His powerful jaws coupled with his insanely sharp teeth can make him an extremely dangerous foe. In human form he is capable of biting through wood, metal, and bone with ease. Weaknesses: This ability relies heavily on physical contact and will be useless in a fight if he cannot touch his target. It is unfortunate that he isn't very fast. [Night Vision] Hugo has excellent night vision in both forms. It only takes a few seconds for his eyes to adjust to the change in light; once that happens he will see the dark world in a light shade of grey. Weaknesses: Night vision is a double-edged sword. Hugo will be temporarily blinded if a bright light is turned on after his eyes have already adjusted to the dark. backstory > In the beginning, Hugo was a slow grower, and smaller than most kids his age. The little lad was frail, shy and a bit of a cry baby; often clinging to Natzan's leg whenever he was hurt or scared. He adored both of his fathers back then but exhibited a respectful, yet hesitant, nature around Adonai. The child was an easy target for bullies. > At the age of five Hugo’s adult teeth began to come in. Unlike his other siblings, Hugo’s teeth were sharp and pointed. This was when his insatiable hunger began to reared its ugly head. > Everything changed when Hugo hit puberty at the age of eleven. He evolved. The once tiny child quickly grew into a behemoth, gaining height and muscle mass as if it was going out of style. This startling metamorphosis brought with it new challenges for his caring fathers. Hugo's clingy and fearful personality did a complete flip. He became easily angered, resentful and distant. The bullied had become the bully. > When Hugo turned fifteen, he shifted into a rex for the first time and got stuck in a doorway at home. Thankfully, his fathers were able to help him. > Hugo was stood up during prom and ended up being sent home after biting a table in half. > Hormone levels began to recede after he graduated highschool. With a clear head, he began to practice his shifting, and soon mastered it. > He now has a job at the local museum. misc Hugo has an incredibly high metabolism and the hunger of a T-Rex. Needless to say, he will eat anyone out of house and home. He is quite ravenous during family dinners and is capable of eating an entire turkey, and then some, by himself. Being the only son in a family of daughters has made Hugo very protective of his sisters. If you so much as look at them the wrong way he'll reduce you to a red stain on the concrete. You'll likely never get any shut-eye if you sleep in the same room as Hugo; this man snores like a freight train. He LOVES basking in the sun, especially in his rex form. Whenever Hugo starts to shed he will become incredibly irritable. Itchy scales always put him in a sour mood. He hopes to someday join the TRS as a hunter.
