Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff
season
Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
It shouldn't have happened but you let it Now you're down on the ground screaming medic The only thing that comes is the post-traumatic stresses Shields, body armors and vests don't properly work That's why you're in a locker full of hurt The enemy within and all the fires from your friends The best medicine's to probably just let it win

Aika had just left her office. It was late at night and she was one of the few people on TRS premises that were still active doing their job. She had finished her training and was intending on going home. But as she walked the halls and pavement she would walk a different route.
"Goodbye, Gloria~" she'd say to an elderly woman, a janitor. She'd nodded to her and went back to mopping. The salt and peppered hair woman was not much for chit-chatting at the moment, or really ever. However, Aika felt the need to say something as if she'd expect something from a "friend". She closed the glass doors and exited the hunter association building. She placed her hands in her pockets and began quickly walking home.
She had visited many smiths in the past, this included the TRS one(although very seldom). There was a time she had gotten a bad weapon and had gotten very pissed at the smith. However, she had never encountered the male that'd be working as such of a late hour as she. She'd see a faint light and fire glowing from the smith. She'd walk into the shop and smell coals. Materials were everywhere. It was dirty. She could hear the pitter-patter of a body that was nearby.
Her breath was cold and from being outside momentarily a white free-form bubble of air still exit her full lips. It was undeniably cold outside and nonetheless, she was glad for a moment to escape the bitterness.
Aika had with her a sword on her back, her uniform on, and a tote bag filled with miscellaneous personal items. She took her hair out of her ponytail holder and let her long hair freely sway.
"Hello?" she'd ask in the 'empty' area.
Why not poke the man who was still at work. She wondered who would come to greet her. She now needed an excuse as to why she had decided to poke the gentleman who'd still be at work at such an hour. Weapon making took work, no doubt about it, but why force yourself to stay til' 30 past 8?
She could ask herself that with hunting.
But she hadn't had a clue other than the one word:
Zephyr heard the door open, the sound of someone speaking, but the large sword before him required utmost attention at this time in its forging. One mistake and no matter how powerful the strengthening charms, it would shatter. He lifted the heavy blade, the mythrin-steel alloy, his own invention, glowing almost white hot, and with a quick thrust, he plunged the weapon into a vat of what looked and smelled like blood. Mostly because it was, in fact, blood. From a manticore. Which had been a real pain to collect.
When the blood stopped bubbling, he reached in, up to his elbow, and removed the glistening tool of destruction. As the blood sluiced off the metal, it revealed that the alloy had taken on the color of a blue rose.
"Perfect. Becket can set the charms in the morning. Now then."
He turned, his eyes bright at the prospect of a new client, willing to perhaps let him experiment on something new, and chaotically destructive.
"How can I Help you?"
He grabbed a can of his energy drink, Black Mamba, which was actually a drink formulated for demons, angels, and other powerful creatures. Had he been human, the stuff would have made his heart explode. He cracked the open, and it hissed as if he had actually opened a can containing a deadly snake. He chugged it like a dying man fresh from the dessert chugging a glass of water.
"I've got everything a Hunter could need, and if i dont have it in stock, i can probably make it in a few hours."

This man.....was.....beautiful.
There was no other way to put it. The young adult female would close in and get right in front of the blacksmith. Her body was close and she was almost touching him. If Zephyr shifted his body forward he would feel her cool skin from walking outside. The woman was awestruck and for a moment had her mouth gaped then smiled too hard, then returned to a normal neutral expression.
Aika would get her thoughts together. She didn't want to seem too creepy. Oh. He was offering to make her something.
"Well. I'd like a custom weapon. It's about time I got one. You know? I had one that broke a few years ago. Currently, I just use typical weapons. Nothing special. I'm starting to get sick of having to buy them all the time because terrors break them in combat and whatnot," she'd say then giggle a bit. She tried to tame her heart rate. She was rather tempted.....to touch him.
"Can you make me two weapons?" she'd ask trying to make eye contact, "I like blades a lot. I don't want to keep you though. Do you need help gathering materials? Maybe we should try this tomorrow. It's fine," she'd tell Zephyr. Everytime she'd successfully made eye contact with the taller man her eyes would dart away soon after.
Zephyr paled a bit as she got close, then blushed a bit.
"Right. Um, i can easily get to work on it tonight, i do my best work at night anyway."
Not entirely true, but he was running a good wavelength right now, and it would be a shame to cut it short. The Brute killer sword, sometimes called a Buster Blade in games, was a pet project, something he had been planning for a while, he had finally gotten his hands on enough mythril to make the Mythrin steel, so he had gone and done it.
"Any ideas what you want in particular? Long sword? Short sword? Axe? Hatchet? Daggers? I've got a catalogue around here somewhere, has all the designs ive done in the past..."
He turned and started rummaging through the piles and piles of empty energy drink cans all over the place. Fact was, Zephyr rarely, if ever, slept. Nightmares were never fun, and he would rather be so exhausted he was at risk of falling into the forge than go through that.
