Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

The moon was high in Northern Lorsette with not a single cloud in sight. It was a crisp night and quite a beautiful one for a certain young woman. Stepping out into the cool air, Aurora made her way out of the flower shop where she had worked in, making sure to keep quiet so as not to let anyone know she was leaving and slowly walked out into the area. It was quiet and peaceful, not many people were even out and about this late, plus crime rates were always low in this section of Lorsette, so Aurora had one less thing to fear as she wandered.
Glancing around, Aurora's hair trailed behind her, a curtain of white in the gentle breezes, as she looked for an area where she could hide herself in order to do what she was really aiming to do tonight. It didn't take long for the blue-eyed beauty to find a dark alleyway and quickly dash into it, turn to her side in order to position herself better for her goal. The fallen angel's heart always raced when she was preparing for this feat at night and tonight was no exception. With a small breath, Aurora unfurled her pitch-black wings, giving them a quick stretch with a small sigh.
The woman then smiled gently and proceeded to flap her wings once, twice, then thrice and she was rising quickly, soaring higher and higher into the air. It didn't take long for Aurora to now be flying above the buildings, passing overhead much like a harbinger of death, but one that wouldn't harm a fly. She would giggle playfully as the fallen angel performed a few small aerial maneuvers.
~Veer left. Veer right. Loop around.~ Aurora would think to herself.
It was like clockwork for the young woman and she had grown accustomed to her wings quite quickly over the last six months. While Aurora was fearful of others to see her, she quite enjoyed the feeling of flying free, even with her darkened wings. This was why the woman would continue to fly for about an hour before landing on a nearby rooftop of a building and closing her wings. She landed light as a feather and would sigh gently, swinging her feet off the edge. It was a relaxing night and the perfect one for her to relax and potentially explore a bit.
Xander found himself in an interesting position. Stuck in a random house, in a rather large party, reading some interesting books. He was smoking a cigarette sitting at a counter top in the apartment while people partied around him. Someone asked him for a cigarette and he sighed. "Yeah, you can have one" The party had some music blaring, but not too loud considering it was surrounded by neighbor apartments. The apartment wasn't too large but had quite a view from the balcony. Sadly the balcony was full of woman, and one man who seemed to be entertaining them with his position as a subpar actor. Xander really despised some of the rich people he knew from magazines, mainly because he was jealous of them. Why couldn't he amass a fortune that large? He groaned while finishing his cigarette. He didn't really know anyone at this party, grabbing a beer, his book, and his lighter, he decided to make his way to the roof.
He walked casually in the dark hallways making his way up the stairs, bringing a small light with him, his plans were to read in silence on the rooftop. He opened the door, holding his book in one hand, he placed a cigarette in his mouth as he attempted to light the dam thing. He tried flicking the lighter but almost as quickly as he tried lighting the lighter a large gust of wind went and blew out his lighter. He kept the cigarette in his mouth as he glared in the direction of whatever created that wind burst. It must have been pretty large for it to have created enough wind to blow out his lighter.
Then the person, clearly a person by the shape, landed on the edge of the roof. Xander was surprised by this but was able to keep his cigarette in his mouth, still unlit. He looked at her wings curiously, but was unable to get a good read on what they looked like in the dark night.
"Shouldn't you be a sleep?" He spoke towards her while cracking open a beer. "Or are you having a party for one?" Xander couldn't help but think maybe his luck for the night had turned around. Someone interesting had shown up, and with the ability to fly. Should he invite the person to the party? He thought to himself curiously wondering what kind of person this was. He tried flicking the lighter a few times, but the thing refused to light. After a few attempts he was able to light his cigarette. Still holding his book in one hand, he placed the lighter in his pocket and took a drag from the cigarette. He exhaled the only thing visible was the light from his cigarette in the dark. He took a swig of beer, walking a little bit closer to try and get a look at the person who appeared at the rooftop.
Having been fearful of others seeing her wings before, Aurora froze instantly at the sight of the man before her with a strange, smoking object and drinking from a tall can. She didn't recognize the figure at all and realized that he could potentially see her wings. Almost jumping for a brief moment, the fallen angel quickly retracted her wings, allowing them to practically disappear into the night and hopefully merely having being seen as a potential shadow in the dark. The woman would stay quiet, unsure of how to respond to the man's presence. She was used to people running away when they saw her wings, so the fact that this man didn't either meant he wasn't afraid or he just didn't notice them yet.
The man didn't seem to have any malicious intent, but Aurora's heart was already racing. The stranger before her flickered a small flame a couple times, causing the woman to almost wince at the small flame as the small object in the man's mouth now had a small light. He was getting ever closer to her and asking if the woman should be asleep or if she was having a party of one. Aurora shook her head gently, as if to say no, but figured she should respond with words. "I don't tend to sleep this early...and what do you mean by party?"
Aurora's voice was gentle and even a bit curious as she watched the man, almost frozen in her tracks like a deer in headlights. She wanted to run away and find Imogen, but if she took out her wings the man could attack her. He already appeared to have some sort of fire control in her eyes, which already frightened her since Aurora didn't quite understand what a lighter was. She didn't understand a lot of things, but perhaps this was a new opportunity for the woman to learn.
Xander looked at her curiously taking a long drag from his cigarette. He exhaled a large puff of smoke escaping his lips as he listened to her words. She didn't sleep this late? And didn't understand what he meant by party? Kai sighed taking a large sip from his tallboy. "I mean I can sit here and explain it to you or you can come to see the party yourself. It's basically a greet n meet of all sorts of different people who drink, and eat, and have fun. Dancing is usually involved. You know that sort of thing." He looked at her with a blank expression closing the gap between them without much hesitation.
Oh it was a young female? He had a pretty line of sight on her now even in the dark. She had long straight hair, and beautiful figure. He raised an eyebrow at her taking another drag from his cigarette. "Have you never been to a party before?" He asked her curiously. He couldn't figure out any other reason she wouldn't know what the word party was. "I mean you didn't know what the word was," He chuckled lightly at how absurd this situation was.
"Well I mean my party was getting kind of boring, but I'm sure I can spice things up if you want to come down and learn how to party yourself?!" Xander smiled taking another big huff of the cigarette. He really was clearing the cigarette a lot faster than he often smoked them. "How old are you? You either are much younger than you appear or your a big shut in." Xander wasn't really sure which she was. He took another big sip of the tallboy and blankly stared at her waiting for a response. "You can freely fly though, must be entertaining." He did in fact figure she was the one that flew overhead of him.
"Come on, let's go to the party. You'll have fun. Better than being alone." Kai tried to reassure her in some way, and this way he had someone to entertain him since the party people seemed a bit lacking for him.
