Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

she really wasn't one to be suspicious to believe people had ulterior motives, but when someone starts acting different only then will she start to question it. she simply nods when he tells her that he wants to show off his car. he had mentioned that he was a collector and cars were on that list. sadly she had minimal knowledge on cars. if he wanted to show off his car, she was the wrong person to show it off to.
out of all the things she could of expected. this was certainly not one of them. surely this didn't happened to those in the spotlight. well, she was clearly proven wrong. they didn't know who she was. she was positive they didn't care. she just wanted to leave and not be followed. she wanted a nice day out. it had been, she was enjoying her time with kai. as soon as kai offered his hand to her she took it. she didn't want to stay here any longer. they ran and it seemed like he was pulling her along. she wasn't a runner and she was not dressed for it either. she kept up as best as she could.
where were they headed? surely there were no good places to hide around here, not when they seemed to be all over the park. it didn't matter where they went so long as they weren't crowded again. as much as she dealt with customers all day. this was something that she could of prepared for. she wasn't a fan of large crowds especially ones that couldn't stop staring at her and asking questions. magnolia preferred being a wallflower, shying away from the spotlight. there were plenty of people that wanted to be the center of attention and she was not one of them.
"so what you're say is this happens all the time? how unfortunate."celebrities and other well known people deserved their privacy too."no, it's okay. it did make for a quicker getaway."she agreed with him. even if he had told her who he was she still wouldn't of known how well known he really was. they approached a car she could only assume was his."okay, sure. wait, i was going to the bakery. they won't follow you there will they?"she asked. she wanted her business to do good and it was, but she didn't want what happened here to affect it in a negative way. if they found out where she worked would they continue bombarding her with questions? she hoped not."maybe you can drop me off somewhere else. i don't want to risk it."
she was starting to panic just a bit more. would everything they worked so hard for be ruined? no, they surely would give up after sometime right? kai speaking once more brought her out of her thoughts. she smiled softly."yes, it was fun. except the whole running away from paparazzi. i don't know how you put up with that all the time. i surely couldn't."he let go of her hand instructing her to get in the car. she didn't see the paparazzi but that didn't mean they weren't still chasing after them. so she getting in the car was a safer bet. she slipped the small backpack off and set it in her lap before putting her seat belt on.
Kai was really surprised with this woman. She didn't seem to be starstruck, she didn't seem to care about his possessions, or wealth, in fact she seemed to not like being in the spotlight whatsoever. She seemed to think that being in the spotlight all the time was unfortunate. He kept his words to himself now while waiting to get into the car. When he approached the car and she got in he stayed quiet for the time being. The paparazzi were taking pictures from afar now and now he decided to respond, revving the engine so that the car could vibrate the seats. Perhaps he was showing off a little bit now. He liked his Lamborghini.
"You know not many people get to ride in a car like this." He added before responding to her earlier questions. "I think it should be fine dropping you off at your bakery, you might get questioned by someone, and maybe have your name in a blog somewhere." He gazed at her curiously revving the engine again, sending the whole car shaking with energy.
"Honestly wouldn't that be a good thing for your business? People will come for a bit but it will die down. You'll get a boost in sales I bet, and I was hoping to stop by and get some Brioche." He peeled out of the parking lot pretty quickly. He was comfortable and confident with the machine as he drove the high powered octane boosted vehicle down the road. People were obviously staring at the car, and Magnolia and Kai were getting a ton of attention as they drove down the streets. Things were much quieter aside from the engine, and the sounds of the wind.
"You never answered my question from earlier, could I get your number? I think there's a party I want to throw as a sort of welcoming to Lorsette. You see I'm pretty new to Canada. I was hoping that I'd get to see you there" He was expecting someone like her to outright refuse a manor party, but it was worth trying anyways, she didn't seem like the person to enjoy lavish things. "You can check out my collections? What do you say?" Kai looked at her curiously while pulling out his phone. He kept his eyes darting from the road to the phone, but kept surprisingly well control of the vehicle as he did so.
He tossed her the phone with an advert playing. It was a "Stars" Trailer showcasing his latest role in one of his movies. "That's me, right there!" He pointed to the trailer when it showcased him as an actor, and even discussed his upcoming film he was trying to direct, and spoke about his latest purchase in Lorsette. "I lied because I thought you'd recognize me right away, but honestly it's been refreshing, you knowing nothing about me!" Kai spoke loudly among the sound of the engine. "If you don't want to see me again I understand, but I think I really liked our time together. There will be less media presence at my party, your going to come right?"

she smiled softly and nodded."oh really. sorry i know nothing about cars. i like the color though."she probably would of been fine with just telling him she didn't know cars. she was honest at least, the shade of purple was nice. despite him saying that it might be fine to head to the bakery she wasn't so sure. maybe she was being a tad bit paranoid. she couldn't help it, those people had her picture."that's what i'm afraid of. being questioned."she told him softly.
she shook her head."no, i don't think so. they would only be interested in you. no offense."she wanted people to come in and enjoy the bakeries creations. she didn't want people asking her questions about kai."you can still stop by, but maybe don't announce it?"she said with a nervous laugh. was that rude of her to ask? it wasn't his fault that he was so popular.
"oh, i'm sorry. yes, that's fine, you can have my number."she told him as she began to retrieve her phone from her bag. she glanced at him when he mentioned having a party. she was surprised that he wanted her to come. she wasn't one for parties, but she went to a few. of course those were dinner parties held by family members. random birthdays here and there. she smiled softly."maybe, depends on the day."if she knew enough in advance she to take the day off. or somehow plan for it. she didn't want to go by herself. being somewhere where she didn't know anyone. it wasn't fun for her. she a social butterfly, despite talking to kai all this time. though he was easy to talk to.
she noticed him messing with his phone and was about to tell him not to while he was driving when he tossed it towards her. she looked down at the video that was playing. watching quietly. she smiled softly."it's alright. you had your reasons. sorry i didn't recognize you. i don't watch much television. i have one, i just don't watch it all that much."she said with a laugh. though he seemed to enjoy that she didn't know who he was. the little odd things that had occurred that day had started to make sense. the hot dog vendor, when he took off his jacket. the video finished playing and since she had his phone she figured it would just be easier to add her number."i'll add my number now, if that's okay?"she asked."okay, i'll stop by. i can bring you some brioche."she said with a small laugh.
Kai continued to drive in a random direction considering he still didn't know where the bakery was. "Well I suppose if your afraid of being questioned I can stop in a different time, I just thought a quick drive-by for some Brioche wouldn't attract too much attention." Kai didn't feel like making her day any more eventful than it already had been. She liked the color though eh? Well he certainly hoped so purple being his favorite color. "I guess your right, they would only be interested in me. Probably think I own the store something." Kai didn't want that for her, it was her store she deserved the glory of running it. When she said he could still stop by a smile crept up onto his face.
"Okay I think I will stop by, but I'll keep it short. Not everyone notices me in public right away, but I wasn't exactly hiding at the park. I guess they tracked me down." If Kai wasn't at the shop for too long they wouldn't be able to track it down, as long as no one snapped a picture of the guy he should be fine. He was surprised at how calm and serene she seemed. She didn't seem phased at all about any of this, and that made Kai feel extremely happy about her as a person. She wasn't into becoming friends for the fancy cars at least.
"Well I will text you when the day is more set in stone okay?" He wasn't sure when he was planning on having this party, the manor was so big he'd need security, party planners, and he'd want to have a massive amount of people presence, but pictures would be a no no. When she apologized that she didn't recognize him he shrugged. "I'm glad you don't know me from my movies," He looked over to her. "Makes it feel more personal in my opinion" He smiled while stopping at a red light. Some kids noticed the car and began taking pictures of the car. Kai waved at them, they waved back accordingly before the light turned green and Kai drove off again.
"Yeah feel free to add your name and number to my phone." He was more than comfortable with her doing that. After a minute or so she said she would stop by with some brioche. Oh so she'd have some brioche to give when she came to the party. That would be extremely nice of her.
"By the way, what's the address to your Bakery? I'll park a half a block away so you can at least be discreet since you don't want the attention." He looked down at the time, noticing that a lot of the day had passed away, it being around 5pm now. "I can drive you home if you like too, but I understand if you'd prefer to walk." They did just meet after all.

she was worried it was the only reason she had said it. they were so far away now. even so she couldn't help, but be a little cautious. she nods at his comment. a quick stop probably wouldn't hurt. she did promise him that brioche. laughed softly hearing his comment about owning the bakery."that would be funny."
she checks the time on her phone."it's not too busy at this time either. so you should be okay."if anyone did stop buy it was a quick order and it was usually something pretty simple."that's so unbelievable that they were able to find you. at least they gave you time to eat. well, sort of."she said with a laugh. he had seemed like he was in a rush all of a sudden. of course not his actions made sense. she felt silly for not being aware of what was going on, but how was she to know this could happen.
she nods."okay sounds good. is it okay if i bring someone?"she agreed to go, she wasn't going to back out. being the host of a party was hard work and figured he would be mingling with everyone. at least if she brought someone with her, she would have someone to talk to. she smiled at his comment."you know i have to at least watch one movie now. don't worry i won't look anything up. you can tell me yourself."it would just feel weird if he didn't tell her things himself.
she opened the contacts on his phone and added her name and number before handing it back to him. she had gotten in the car and completely forgot to tell him where to go. of course he wasn't going to know where her bakery was, seeing as he had never been or even knew it existed."oh right. it's downtown. which we are not too far from now. all you have to do it take a right and it's at the end of the street."she told him."i'll just give you a business card so you can have the address handy."
"thank you for the offer, but i actually have some things i need to do once i get to the bakery. i don't want to make you wait."she told him with a smile.
Kai looked at her anxiously. "Yeah at least they gave me some space at first, but they were definitely taking pictures with a telephoto lens" He shrugged. "You and me are probably going to be on the cover of some magazine, that's just how it works." He groaned while turning a corner. "Sorry about all this, people are probably going to be curious who you are, but I wouldn't expect them to track you down at your place of work. You might get the odd person that actually reads magazines in your store, but I really doubt it. Most things are done online" Kai was expecting it to be in articles online titled. "Kai Lust and a Mysterious woman" Or some crap like that. "You might be in someones news feed too, which sounds more realistic than a magazine" He really felt bad for the woman, she honestly would be the center of attention at least for a little bit.
"Sorry about all this, I really just wanted to have a hot dog. I know they will eventually leave you alone, and it will be hard for them to track you down without a name. However if one of your customers spots you and sees an article about you, well mainly me, but you in it, then you might get questioned.." There was no beating around the bush. She was seen with him, it would come with some attention.
"I'm glad to hear it won't be busy, that makes it perfect." Kai smiled genuinely as he listened to Magnolia speak. "You want to bring someone? Sure I don't see a problem with that at all. It probably would be more comfortable for you that way, as you won't know anyone." He was just happy that she agreed to it at all, it would be fun to show off some of his art collections to the girl. Maybe give her a taste of some fine dining while she was there too. The party was really going to be extravagant. He felt like none of this would impress her and he liked that most about her.
She wanted to watch one of his movies? "Sure I can choose one of the blue rays I own, if you have a blue ray players. Or you could stream something there's some on some streaming sites. I don't mind if you pirate it either." Not that he expected her to but he knew how easy it was to watch something illegally and he would just rather someone view one of his movies. "I'll have to think on which one I would want you to watch though, there's quite a few, and not all of them are family friendly." He added nervously wondering what kinds of movies she liked.
"Do you have a specific type of movie you like?" When Magnolia told him about the turn ahead he complied making the turn and parking about a half a block away from the bakery. The car engine revved loudly as he pulled into the small parking lot on the street. He hit a button on the dash and the top began to fold out covering above them.
"It'll just be a quick in and out." He tried reassuring her nodding at her when she said she had things to do and didn't want him waiting. "Yeah I mean if I wait there's a chance that I'll be found out, so I guess I'd like to avoid that."
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .

she wondered how often he ran into the paparazzi. she felt bad for him, not being able to enjoy simple things. never knowing when someone was watching you. it was rather creepy if she thought about it. didn't those people have anything better to do?"oh, how nice."she laughed nervously. she just hoped her mother didn't find out and get the wrong idea."no, it's alright. you didn't know this was going to happen. our meeting was just a happy little accident."she told him with a smile.
she shook her head once more."i don't blame you for any of this. you should be free to do what you want without having to worry about who's taking pictures of you."she told him honestly."well if anything i can just work in the back for awhile. just to be safe."it wasn't like she was in front working too often so really she wouldn't be changing her routine too much. this was a waiting game wasn't it. they would have to wait and see what happened next.
she smiled and nodded. surely her mother would like to tag along. though she wasn't sure she would be the best one to take. she still had time to think about it. after all kai hadn't set a date for the party yet.
she laughed softly."i don't think i'll go that far. i can just buy the dvd or something. that's fine, pick whatever you want. i don't really have a preference. i'll watch whatever."did she have a preference? she liked comedies and love stories. she even managed to watch a few suspenseful thrillers. though she would give anything a chance so long as it caught her interest.
he parked the car and she made sure she had returned his phone to him. made sure she had her phone before she got out."okay, no worries."she told him before she heading towards the bakery."yes, we should probably play it safe."she smiled. it didn't seem to be too busy. the walk towards the bakery was nice. she had glanced around and didn't see anyone following them. hopefully the paparazzi called it a day and all went home."so if brioche is our favorite bread. do you have a favorite dessert?"
"Your very forgiving." Kai said sternly expecting her to be at least a little upset about the situation. He basically uprooted her life, if only for a little bit. He shrugged casually thinking she would be alright for the most part then. She seemed to not be worried about anything so why would he. "Someone as delightful as you shouldn't have to hide away in the back." He added casually as he tossed his jacket in the back of the Lamborghini fine with staying in his undershirt since it would be less heat to deal with. "Unless of course you like working in the back, maybe your talents are just in baking rather then customer service."
There wasn't much space in the back of the Lamborghini as it was a two-seater so the jacket basically fell down in between the seats. "I'll pick it back up later" He thought to himself. She was fine with any movie? "Well you know what I think the project I had the most fun on was "Bubble Boy" It's not very popular but I had a blast acting on it when I was a kid. I wasn't the lead but I'm in it. I'm Tommy's best friend Jason." Why not choose a part where he was still a child, he had the most fun on projects then when they were more exciting. Plus she got to see a more natural depiction on that shoot because he got to act more like himself, at least for the time-period.
"I got the role after I was in a toy commercial." He was sharing a bit more about his life with her than he usually would like, he was an actor since a child, but he often felt like he had no choice. His parents basically forced him into this kind of work and he slightly resented them because of it, although it did give him success in the form of money.
Grabbing his phone from her he looked through to see her number in the phone. He sent her a text message immediately with his name. "Kai Lust" "There so you have my number as well." He was also curious if she had used a fake number. Her phone would go off if he sent it so he could gauge it that way. Kai wasn't very trustworthy with people because of the ways people have tried to screw him around. He didn't think she had any reason to lie but on the off chance that she maybe she didn't trust him, he wanted to know. Maybe she thought of him as a creep and just wanted to get rid of him. He found himself a little worried about that since she didn't find his excessive wealth at all interesting, or at least it seemed that way.
When Magnolia got out of the car Kai followed leaving the jacket behind in the car. He followed Magnolia as she knew the way much better than he did. "Well I don't get to eat too much dessert. If I had to choose though I'd go with cinnamon rolls. They're delicious." Kai watched as Magnolia looked around for other people. "A little paranoid?" He teased her.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .
[attr="class","honey1"]
she shrugged slightly."well, not much about i can do about it now. besides it's not your fault."if there was anyone she would be upset, it would have to be with those photographers. so long as they stayed away from her, it would be fine."you think i'm delightful?"it was surprising to hear that. she was just about to tell him that she normally stayed in the back. she laughed softly hearing his next comment."it's like you know me so well, but yes i'm usually working in the back."she blushed lightly, or maybe she was just that predictable?"i'm not the greatest, but i'm not that bad it."she laughed softly. thankfully she never really had to step in. everyone did a great job when they spoke with the customers. though if she had to be honest she probably wouldn't be able to handle an angry customer, more specifically one that would be yelling. thankfully everyone that came in were very polite as well.
she nodded before opening the notes app on her phone to jot it down so she wouldn't forget."i can't imagine acting as a kid would be easy. that's good that you had fun though."would it be too intrusive to ask what interested him in acting? did he always know he wanted to act."that also sounds fun. you got to play with the toys right?"she figured acting would be tough, even more so on a child.
her phone buzzed, alerting her she had received a message. it was from an unknown number, which she figured had to be kai's as he had just let her know. she nodded as she added kai into her contacts."alrighty, just saved it."she told him a smile. it felt like as soon as she was inside the bakery she would be safe. he told her it might take a bit for it to blow over. the more she thought of what could happen the more anxious it would make her feel. it was probably nothing. nothing was going to happen and it would be just fine."cinnamon rolls, those are great especially when they just come out of the oven. they are so warm and delicious."they were usually bought up pretty quick, along with the muffins. especially in the mornings. when you needed something quick nothing went better with coffee than a pastry.
he caught her checking and she could already start to feel her face warm up."yes, i mean no. i was just checking. nothing with that."thankfully the bakery was in view. she opened the door, holding it for kai before making her way in. just as she had thought, not too many people."i'll go get you that brioche and the business card."she told him before greeting her co-workers as she walked towards the back.
Kai looked at her curiously as she spoke. D~Did she just blush? "How cute" He thought to himself as they continued to walk. Kai didn't have too much of a muzzle on him to be honest so it was a surprise he didn't say that aloud. "I guess getting to know you is fun, your not like other girls I've come across Magnolia." He stopped for a second to puzzle himself on exactly what he found different about her. "You don't seem like you care all that much about my career, or seem to care about my car, the car is quite rare!" He had to add in that his car was rare.
"If you did care about those things I don't really know how interesting I would find you." To be frank Kai wasn't all too sure about what kind of person he was interested in anyways. He was around wealthy people, people who had egos, people that back stabbed, and people who were all trying to compete in one way or another. "Your not trying to compete with me which is another plus, and you have your own interesting career that's not something to do with acting or music. I guess what I'm trying to say is your refreshingly different than the people I tend to hang out with." He wasn't quite sure why he went on a tangent there but he thought he got the point across well enough.
"I can't wait to try your brioche, then I will judge how great or bad you are." Kai added when she said she was not the greatest but not that bad. "And I have a feeling it's going to be great, fresh bread usually is." He at least hoped the bread would for the most part be fresh. When she said she couldn't imagine acting as a kid being easy Kai had a few flashbacks of the times he didn't perform well and his mother stopped giving him food. "It can be tough at times." He answered calmly to her question. "But yeah, you do get to play with the toys. If I was lucky we'd receive the toys in the commercials." When he heard the number pop up in her phone a bit of relief escaped him. She must at least have enjoyed spending some time with him then.
She seemed a little fluster when he caught her checking around the area. Kai couldn't help but let out a small laugh. Kai walked into the bakery as Magnolia held the door open for him. He immediately spotted the other workers and waved saying. "Hello there! How is your day?" Trying to make polite conversation. He then heard Magnolia speak up. "Oh yeah, I can't wait to try it" He watched as she walked past him to get into the back.

[attr="class","honey1"]
"is that weird?"she asked with a laugh. though he explained a bit more and she believed she understood what he was trying to say."it's not that i don't care, i just...i don't really pay attention to that stuff. as for the car, i already told you i know nothing about them."she smiled softly. maybe she had misunderstood, he didn't want her to care? she wasn't sure how to respond, so she simply smiled.
she liked what she liked and flashy cars and being in the spotlight were definitely not one of them. not that she thought poorly of people that did enjoy those kinds of things. she laughed softly."you don't worry about that. i don't plan on changing careers anytime soon."if he continued to talk like that she might start blushing again.
"well, i wasn't at work today. so, you won't be judging my baking skills, i'm afraid."she laughed softly."maybe next time."she nodded when he told her that acting could be tough at times. she could only imagine. how many times someone would have to do a scene over or the amount of hours they spent preparing their lines and actions. it was probably similar to remember a recipe. she memorized some just because she made them all the time.
she probably sighed with relief when she saw the bakery. poking her head she smiled. they were already asking her what she was doing. she smiled picking up the brioche when she spotted it. she knew who the first people would be to question her. she returned with the bag of brioche in and and grabbed a business card before returning to where she had left kai."you're in lucky. this was the last one."she handed it to him."and here's our card."she told him with a smile.
"I suppose it's not that all weird," Kai seemed to lose himself in thought for a moment. "Well I have some more cars here in Lorsette but most of my cars are stored elsewhere" He responded cautiously about the cars considering she knew nothing about cars. "Well if you did change careers I'm sure you could give a few models a run for their money." He smiled confidently laying down the compliment as if it meant nothing. "And I've met plenty of models. So that means something" He donned a happy smile continuing to follow her. "Well it really is a shame that I won't get to judge your baking skills. However I'm sure your co-workers are just as talented so I guess this will have to do." He paused for a moment.
"I will have to come back for some bread that you've baked. Or if you still planned on bringing some to the party you could bake me some then, but I will have to insist on paying for it the second time." He tried to get a look into her eyes to try and gauge what her thoughts were but she seemed dead set on getting into the bakery and didn't seem to be gazing at anything else when the bakery came into view. Kai looked around a bit to see if anybody was noticing him and things look pretty dead and quiet so he thought things were pretty golden right now.
Kai waited patiently in the store aside from having idle chit chat with one of the workers if they asked if he needed assistance. He was pretty happy with the smell of the bakery and found himself liking the quaint little place they had here. When Magnolia returned with bread in hand Kai couldn't help but give off a nice smile. He took the bread as she handed it to him, and fumbled around a bit with the card as she handed that to him seemingly pretty quickly. He didn't want to squish the bread by holding it hard with one hand so he fumbled a bit with the card and bread before actually figuring out how to stick the card in his pocket without damaging the bread.
"Thank you Magnolia." He said softly, taking a small whiff off the bakeries scents. "I guess this is where we split ways then, huh?" Kai wasn't sure the next time he'd be free so he couldn't schedule a time to meet her again right away either. "I'll send you a text about the party, and maybe we can meet up another time yeah?" He wasn't sure when that would be but it was always nice to ask. His schedule was pretty full with setting up the things about the movie in production in Lorsette, he would need to go location spotting, again, among other things. Eventually do casting calls, but that was down the road. A lot had to happen in pre production.

she smiled when he mentioned it not being all that weird she wasn't like all the other girls."oh, that's good then."she shook her rather quickly."i highly doubt that, i'm not as coordinated and i wouldn't like the attention."she said honestly. even as a child she would always be the last one to approach a group. or she would wait for someone to approach her to play. it seemed like there were some thing that she hadn't outgrown.
"that's fine, i should be working all all week. stop by if you have the chance."she nodded."well, the brioche i will be bringing to the party will be a gift. so i don't expect you to pay for that either."she sighed softly once reaching the safety of the bakery.
she hoped it didn't seem like she was in a rush to get him to leave. though the more she thought about it, it did seem like that. after all she had been worried about them being followed to the bakery. the brioche and the business card were handed over to him and smiled."not a problem. i mean you can stay if you want, i'm not kicking you out."she blurted, now she felt bad.
either way, she had a few things she needed to check on before she would be heading home."alrighty sounds, good."she laughed softly."sure, just let me know where you're free. if it's not too late in the day i can bring you cinnamon roll."she told him with a smile.
When Magnolia said she highly doubted his words he laughed. "No complimenting you is there?" She didn't seem to enjoy being thrust into the spotlight, and she didn't enjoy being complimented? Or maybe she just didn't trust his words. Either way he found it a little entertaining. "Are you saying baking doesn't require coordination?" He asked calmly. "I think it requires a good amount, but you'd be the expert." He smiled looking her way. "Of course, the attention is the part that can be both a blessing, and a curse." He was speaking from a bit of experience.
"Yeah I will definitely stop by if I have the chance to." Kai wasn't so sure he would, but if he ever needed some brioche he could always send someone to go pick it up for him, although he would prefer to see Magnolia if he had the chance to. "You are certainly very generous. I only paid for a hot dog combo. Now your giving me two loaves of Brioche?" He looked at her almost confused. "Well I'm not complaining, " He chuckled wondering how much the Brioche here costed. It had to be more expensive, or just as expensive as the hot dog combo. He got Brioche usually for $15 or the homemade stuff for an expensive price because he payed for a chef to make it exclusively for him.
When she said she wasn't kicking him out he looked perplexed. "I didn't think you were kicking me out." He looked down at the bread and than back up to her. "Besides I wouldn't want to intrude on the rest of your business today Magnolia." He was about to leave when he heard her speak up about bringing him a cinnamon roll if it wasn't too late in the day. "Yeah, okay.." Kai didn't have the heart to tell her he couldn't just eat cinnamon rolls whenever he wanted, if she brought him some he'd just have to cheat he thought. Maybe it was an excuse to just get some cinnamon rolls in his system, it had been quite some time.
Kai waved goodbye as he left the store turning to the left back down the direction he walked from the car. He made his way to the parking lot, some people looking at his car with surprise. "I wonder why she doesn't care about the cars..." He thought to himself curiously as he entered the Lamborghini keeping the roof up this time. He may have dropped the roof earlier simply to show off to Magnolia, not that it seemed to work. He pulled out of the parking lot driving by the Bakery and honking his horn at Magnolia as he passed the bakery, the horn mixed in with the sound of the loud engine as he passed the bakery making his way home.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .

she blushed lightly."oh, is that what you were trying to do? sorry."she didn't know why his words were going over he heard. it's not like she honestly thought that he was trying to convince her to go into modeling."no, you're right baking, it does require coordination among other things."she told him with a nod."isn't it always, attention i mean."though he probably had it worse than she did. people weren't always out on the look out for her. seeing what she did ever minute of the day. she could only imagine. it had to be tiring after awhile.
she nodded when he said he could stop in if he would be able to."no worries if you can't, i understand you're a very busy person."she smiled at his words this time catching the compliment."thank you, i try. i can't show up empty handed to your party now can i?"of course she couldn't. she also hoped to be done with that water color of the fountain, but that would be a surprise. maybe she could even buy a cute frame for it.
well she was glad that he didn't think she was kicking him out. even though she felt like maybe she had rushed a bit to get the bread and the business card. she figured he was busy too. with that there was no more business between them. it was time for him to leave. she waved goodbye as she watched him walk out the door. it wasn't too long after she heard honking and his car passing bye. she waved standing by the door, not sure if he saw her, then she returned her attention to the few things she needed to finish up at the bakery before heading home. it was sure an interesting day.
