Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

The day was beautiful. Sun shining through every window of Kai's 4 story manor. He awoke in a large King sized bed that could easily fit at least 4 people. Wearing nothing but his underwear he rolled out of bed the alarm buzzing off. A yawn escaped Kai's lips as he moved from the bedroom into the kitchen. He had a full day to himself for once, on a beautiful Saturday morning. He prepared his own breakfast for once, his chef having the day off on Saturdays. He made what he could, bacon and eggs, something extremely simple. Kai loved Lorsette much more than the big cities he often found himself in, and was lucky that he had so much time off from his work. After eating his plate of eggs Kai made his way down through a couple of walkways making his way to his voicemail. After checking the voicemails and noticing that they do were empty a smile crept onto his face. "I can check out the parks today, and maybe get a hotdog from a vendor in the park." You know normal stuff, stuff that Kai loved to try and do.
Kai made his way back up to the bedroom taking him a good 2 minutes to reach the closet. He adorned his favorite outfit. A dark purple suit with a light pink undershirt, and a chain that he wore around his neck. He loved this outfit, and had many different variations on it. A smile beaming from his face he walked past one of the guards in his manor and he looked at Kai curiously. "You seem happy today Sir." The guard spoke with a grin on his face as well. "Yeah I have the day off!" Kai explained while making his way into the garage.
Kai wasn't really trying to blend in today either, he was wearing his signature outfit, and going to take his signature car as well. Heading into the garage there was 3 cars sitting in the garage each in perfect condition. A black mercedes with tinted windows, a purple aventador with tinted windows, and a Parissian which wasn't tinted but rather in fine shape. Kai decided to take the Purple Lamborghini Aventador today, knowing that someone will probably track him down in that car.
Grabbing the keys off the wall Kai opened the suicide door to the purple Lamborghini getting in and pressing on the start button. The car revved up very loud the engine shaking the car. Kai could feel the engine through the gas pedal and loved the feeling in your chest as the car roared. He hit the garage switch on the sunshade and the garage began opening where he took the car out for a spin.
He went to a few locations, showing off his car, but leaving the top up so no one at least could identify him and send paparazzi his way. He was sure people were noticing the car and sending them his location as best they could but he kept moving around the city so they couldn't really nail him at any location. This was until it hit around 1pm where Kai decided to hit the park. He pulled the Aventador into the parking lot parking beside very modest cars and standing out a whole lot. He got out of the car making sure to lock it, heading into the park to check out the scenery.
He casually passed by a hot dog stand, an ice cream stand, and a few other vendors enjoying the large park. Kai however wanted to make his way to the fountain and koi ponds where he could watch the fish. He wondered if his parents would like doing something like this, but got disgusted at the thought of spending anytime with them. They probably just like the cash payments he sent their way, because that's all they used him for. He made his way to the koi pond and the fountain and began glaring at the small rainbow the fountain left in between the mist of the fountains spray.
He noticed that their were quite a few people out, and shrugged, wondering how long it was going to take the paparazzi to find his location. Especially with the car being parked out in the parking lot. "It's quite beautiful isn't it?" He casually tried to spark up a conversation with the closest person beside him. [/b]

it was tough when the one thing that helped relieved her stress wasn't able today. it wasn't like she never had a day off, she just felt weird if she wasn't working at the bakery. they kicked her out. telling her that she needed to take time for herself. she didn't to sit around and think. work kept her busy and it kept her mind off of things she didn't want to think about it.
though it seemed like today she would have to improvise. she started with doing a bit of cleaning. once she had finished with that. she thought about organizing and de-cluttering some things. she knew that might takes hours. especially if she found things she had forgot she even had. it was an endless cycle and she would probably get distracted and move on to something else.
no, what she needed to do was get out of the house. it was really nice out and some fresh air would do her some good. maybe she could go to the park and practice her sketching. she hadn't done that in quite sometime. it was one thing to decorate cakes and another to draw. though she did do some drawing at work, just to get those ideas on paper, but it wasn't anything like sketching something from life. the more she thought the about it the more it was starting to sound like a good idea. it was still early enough. perhaps she could get some drawing done and get a snack at the baker after. they couldn't kick her out if she was simply a customer. with that, she grabbed a small bag and threw some drawing supplies and her small clutch inside and headed out.
it was a nice day out and hopefully the park wouldn't be too crowded. either way she hoped she would find a nice spot. she really wasn't sure what she wanted to draw, but something would come to mind once she saw it. practice was practice. making her through the park she spotted the fountain. there wasn't too many people around. she figured it was a good of a place as any. she sat on a bench facing the fountain, got settled in and began to take her notebook and pencil out. within minutes she started to draw the outline. after a few minutes she heard someone speak. she hadn't been aware of their presence. once she was focused on something she kind of got lost in her own little world.
she looked around and wondered if he was talking to her."which one?"she asked him curiously.
Kai was surprised to hear a response from someone close by. He turned his head to look at the person who had responded to him. It was a woman, beautiful blue hair. He was surprised she hadn't recognized him either which made interacting with her more intriguing by the minute. He approached her curiously eyeing her notebook and pencil. "Don't you see it?" Kai pointed to the fountain. "If you look at it from the right angle, like this" Kai bent down to get on her level, and began angling himself to find the rainbow again. "If you angle like this, you can see a rainbow through the fountain mist." He looked at the rainbow that the fountain gave off and smiled.
Kai was happy that something so beautiful could happen from something so ordinary, and it didn't even cost him money to see it. He returned his gaze to her surprisingly shocked at her beauty. Kai had spent plenty of time around attractive woman, so he wasn't all that shocked, but surprised to see someone of such beauty among the regulars of the city. What was she doing just drawing out here? He was sure she had something far better to do, she could be a model if she wanted to right? Maybe because that's where Kai's life dealt him he was just surprised to see young attractive people not take the same routes. He was forced into it, but still, it gave you a lot of money if you were successful. However Kai knew all too well that money didn't buy you happiness.
Still very happy that she didn't seem to recognize him he continued to try and talk to her. "What are you drawing If not the rainbow from the fountain?" Kai stood back up from the angle he was trying to show the woman. He stood up strong, and with confidence, puffing out his chest a bit. It was a bit natural for him to try and look his best in front of other people.
"Do you mind if I look and see what you have drawn?" He was intrigued, although he spent his life around artists stumbling into one without actually meaning too was rare. He was prepared to purchase one of her works if he found it exciting, or unique. Not that he needed to tell her that, but he would certainly request to buy it if it struck his fancy. He could put it up on one of the barren walls in the Manor. Kai was used to getting things he wanted, everybody had a price right?
Kai looked around and began noticing some of the people staring at him. He sighed under his breath beginning to feel a little bit nervous. "Anything in particular you feel proud enough to share?" He kept his gaze from meeting hers in fear she would recognize him, and he looked around at the park, the area getting a bit more crowded.
"Hey, this might sound a little weird but.. Would you like to go get a hot dog with me? You see my Mom used to take me to get some dogs whenever I passed an exam." He was bending the truth a little bit, more like whenever he scored a role. However she stopped doing that altogether. "I don't know I was kind of hoping to relive the memory a bit, but I don't want to eat alone.." Kai seemed to leak out confidence, like he wasn't even afraid if she said no, although he still didn't like eating alone. "You'll get a free hot dog and drink out of the deal. You'll only have to listen to me talking for a little bit!" He joked lightly.
"You can show me your drawings on the way to the hot dog stand." Kai was trying to speed things along, he couldn't stay in one place for too long unless he wanted to draw a crowd, or even worse the paparazzi, at least when he was dressed like this. He probably stood out a bit in his nice suit. He was perhaps nervous about getting this girl tangled up in a shit storm of media that was a bound to come within 30 minutes. Hell he showed up in a Lamborghini people were probably already wondering who owned the damn thing, or posting pictures beside it for their instagrams.

she glanced back down to continue working on her drawing. glancing up at the fountain occasionally. though now that she was aware that someone was near her. she would be paying attention just in case the conversation would continue. her pencil stopped once more as he spoke once more. she looked up and tilted her head in hopes that she would catch the rainbow. perhaps it was where she was sitting that she hadn't spotted it."oh, you're right. i see it now."she told him with a smile. he was right you did have to look at a certain angle to be able to see it.
she smoothed out her paper, brushing off bits she had erased."honestly i probably would of missed it had you not told me about it. oh nothing much, just the fountain itself."she said with a nod. perhaps next she would sketch something a little more animated.
she laughed softly."honestly i'm not that good. i'm still learning. i just do it for fun."she told him honestly."i mean i don't mind if you want to look go ahead."she said brushing the page off once more. as she moved it out in front of her for him to see. it probably would of been better if she had handed him the sketch book instead."do you want to flip through it?"she offered."i warned you, they are not that good."she told him as she offered him her sketch book.
apart from the fountain that she was currently sketching, in the other pages there were sketches of flowers, a cat or two and even a sketch of a person reading a book. she looked at him curiously."used to? did she pass? i'm so sorry."she didn't know what else to say. staying quiet and nodding when appropriate. it wasn't an odd request, it just not one she had expected from someone that she had just met. well, she didn't even know his name. it was just a meal. it wouldn't hurt to say yes. she shook her head."you don't have to pay for me. it's alright."she told him with a smile."sure, let's go."she told him with a smile as she started to pack her pencil and eraser. he wanted to see her sketches while they walked, so she left her sketch book out. she stood up and smoothed out the skirt of her dress."i'm magnolia by the way."
Kai gazed at her with a curious eye. "Your drawing the fountain and you missed the rainbow? Surely your going to add it in now?!" Kai couldn't figure out a reason why she wouldn't add it in. The rainbow was lovely, and it was free, and anyone could see it without special equipment or costing them money. Surely it was more lovely than a painting of the real thing which might cost you money to obtain. She could get a drawing of the thing for free thanks to her skills, no matter how under developed they may be. "I'm glad you can see it though, it would have been a shame to miss it" Kai was surprisingly liking her drawing of the fountain as he could view it from her notebook.
Perhaps the drawing of the fountain was the sketch he would want from her, just needed the rainbow. When she spoke about just doing it for fun Kai replied with. "Yeah the things that give us the most entertainment are worth doing. You probably have your own unique style though, and I bet that can't be found anywhere else." He smiled looking at her notebook as she placed it in front of herself. When she offered to have him look at it he graciously accepted. "Yeah I would really like to look at it, I'm sort of a collector myself." Kai took the notebook and held it in his hand refraining from peaking at it for the moment.
"She didn't pass, she just doesn't take me out anymore. Probably because I'm usually too busy, or there's too much to celebrate now." Shit Kai said a little too much there, with the proper funding of his own movie, and various roles he gets selected for there really was just so much to celebrate now compared to when he was child. Not that his mother cared about that, she was content with the cheques right? That's why she didn't really write anymore, or at least that's what Kai felt.
She didn't want him to pay for her? How odd most people enjoyed free things. He was going to pay for her regardless, he had the money to spend so why not? "Alright, if you say so." He had every intention of still paying for her hot dog and drink, just was going to do it before she had the chance to correct him at the hot dog stand. When she stood up Kai looked at her curiously. Why didn't she choose to go into media? She could be a successful news anchor, a model, or maybe an actress but it did require some talent. Magnolia? What an interesting name, she had the looks to be a model, and a special name to fit too.
"Nice to meet you Magnolia, I'm Kai" He reached out his hand to shake hers. Kai decided now would be a good time to start walking, and kept a small pace so that Magnolia could easily follow. He began flipping through the notepad of hers now as he walked examining the pages. It was a good thing they were getting a move on because he could just smell that people were talking about him in the park. Kai began flipping through the pages of the book and began going through the parts with flower drawings in them.
"Do you have a favorite flower? Is it in here?" He continued to walk whilst looking through the notebook drawings. "And I guess I should ask, what do you do for a living?" He was genuinely curious, and wasn't afraid to ask anything about her. She was beautiful, young, and seemed very content. What kind of job allowed her to be so happy?
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .
[attr="class","honey1"]
she laughed softly."i guess i did. i didn't see it from where i was sitting."she told with a slight shrug."i can't, i don't have any colors. it would look weird in black and white. i guess i could always take a picture and use that as reference for later."she had a bunch of pictures on her phone whenever she spotted something she wanted to sketch, but just couldn't at moment. she saved them for a later date. though did she ever go back and actually sit down and sketch? sometimes. she smiled and nodded."it's a good thing i asked."
she smiled and his words and nodded."that's very true. i'd say i wish i'd have more time, but i'm terrible at managing it."she was positive if she moved some things around in her schedule she could do more sketches, or even just setting some time here an there. time management it was clearly something that she had to work on. she laughed softly."it's not too bad, my style. i mean you can at least tell what it is."maybe she was selling herself a bit short, but she knew she could do much better with practice. which is something that hadn't done much of lately.
"a collector? what do you like to collect?"she asked him curiously.
well that was a little awkward and embarrassing. she didn't know why her mind had jumped to that conclusion. of course there are many reasons as why his mother could of stopped coming along."oh. my mistake, sorry."she added rather quickly. she nodded hearing his explanation."it happens, people get busy. you could always do one big celebration if you have many things to celebrate."she suggested, not that he had asked."i hope she's able to at least get together with you once in a while."she told him with a smile.
she finished packing up her things stood up."it's nice too meet you too kai."she said with a smile and shook his hand before handing him her sketch book. started following him once he began to walk. she knew there were vendors around, but she hadn't seen them from the path she had taken to get to the fountain. it seemed like he knew where to find them."my favorite flower, should be towards the front. hydrangeas. i think it's the only one that's in color. i tried water color with that one."she explained.
"i'm a baker. my friend and i opened up a bakery downtown."she told him."what about you?"she was completely oblivious to who he really was. she rarely watched television, especially these days.
"Try to look at things at different angles, you never know what you might discover!" Kai added a little bit of advice in there, not that she needed it but it was natural of him to at least be a bit forthcoming with what he thought needed to be said. "I guess it would look kind of weird in black and white, but it at least would be unique. Have you ever seen a picture of a black and white rainbow? I sure haven't." Kai added to the conversation. He continued to walk down the path with Magnolia following knowing the direction to the hot dog vendor pretty well after passing it on his way to the fountain.
"I'd say we all wish we'd have more time, I'm usually quite busy. Today is a free day however." Kai began looking around the area noticing people tailing behind the two. An audible sigh escaped his lips. He knew she was going to get bombarded with questions later, and wondered how she did in the spotlight. He would drag her away from it if he had too, he didn't need her speaking to the media about him either. As long as she was fine with avoiding the media that is, he wouldn't drag someone away from something they had no intent on leaving. Maybe she enjoyed the attention similarly to Kai's enjoyment of it, but he found that it did get old.
What did he collect? "Many things like paintings, drawings, cars, props, comics." He didn't even realize he let the props piece spill out of his conversation. When Magnolia apologized Kai looked at her confused. "You have nothing to apologize about," He simply stated before looking back at the drawings in the notebook. "One big celebration? I think that is definitely in the plans now." He shrugged when she added the next part. "I mean I'd like to see her eventually, but work does interfere quite a bit." Kai flipped to the front of the book when Magnolia pointed out the hydrangeas and quickly spotted the only one in color.
"It's quite beautiful," He added with a smooth soothing voice. "A Baker!? Do you make brioche bread? I could really use a good source for that food." Honestly he could have his chef prepare it from scratch but the chef wasn't a baker, he couldn't make the best brioche. What about him? Kai became a little nervous feeling like he had to lie to her. "I'm a stock broker," He spoke smoothly and with a confident air in his lie. The walk continued on for a few minutes before they reached the hot dog stand which really wasn't that far from the fountain.
Kai quickly got into line ahead of her turning around to hand her back her notebook. "It was really quite lovely, thank you for sharing. If I had to choose one for my collection though I think I would go with the fountain, add a little rainbow in there and I think it would be perfect." There was only one person ahead of them and he quickly grabbed a hot dog and left. Kai approached the hot dog man and quickly asked for 2 meals. "Can I get two combos? Hot dog for me and the lady there?" The man squinted at Kai curiously. "Yeah sure, what kind of pops do you want?" He said while grabbing two buns. "I'll take a diet pepsi, and you'll have Magnolia?" The man grabbed two hot dogs and handed them over to Kai. He took the two hotdogs and tried passing them off to Magnolia. "Can you hold onto these while I pay?" Kai asked kindly.

she nods at his words."very good advice."it clearly reminded her of that saying about thinking in different perspectives or something along those lines. if one can seeing things in one way, they could be missing the bigger picture."i mean i guess, i could always accentuate the rainbow, but it would in grey."she laughed softly. rainbows were suppose to be bright and colorful. perhaps she could add color too it. it would have to be another time. as she had not packed any colors with her."no, i can't say that i have either, it would be interesting to say the least."
"mine too. well, actually i was told to have free day."she said with a laugh. she couldn't help that she loved her job and that she found it relaxing. though coming out to the park did keep her mind off of things. so in the end it worked out. she still had plans to go to the bakery and check in. they couldn't stop her from doing that. she'd buy a pastry before she would head home. it would be fine.
he told her that he liked to collect. she nodded as he listed off the type of things he liked to collect."do you have a favorite artist?"he seemed to like art quite a bit. she smiled, but she still felt a little embarrassed she had made that assumption. she said nothing more on that matter. she didn't know him and his mother and it wasn't her place to throw out suggestions. honestly, it all depended on them. she hoped that she at least said hello. her parents were busy and so was she, but she always managed to send at least a text message. it was tough, they all had their jobs in different places.
she smiled at his comment. magnolia loved the shade of blue some hydrangeas could be. the purple ones were pretty as well."we tend to rotate some breads and pastries, but brioche is pretty popular. i mean unless someone buys it all, which hasn't happened we should have some."she said with a laugh."is brioche your favorite?"
"that must interesting."she told him after he let her know that he was a stock broker. the business classes she had to take were rather boring. she couldn't believe people actually survived all those type of classes. clearly she liked to bake. those classes were essential in learning to run her own business. so even though they were boring, they were highly necessary.
the hotdog stand came into view and they got in line. handing her her sketchbook she started to place it back into her bag."of course, you're so nice. how about i do a watercolor? that way you get your rainbow."she told them before he placed the order. they asked what she wanted to drink."oh, may i have a water?"she had already closed it when she had forgotten to take out her money for the meal. she was going about about to open it once more when kai asked her if she could hold the food."sure."magnolia said as she accepted the items, figuring he would pay for his meal first and then she could pay for hers.
She was told to have a free day? And she ran the bakery with a friend? Kai had just picked up on those two things. She was a business owner, so she did have a unique job that must provide her with plenty of challenge. This woman must really like baking then. "Yeah, I really love brioche. I could eat a whole loaf of the stuff if I was allowed too." Kai was on a pretty strict diet, he technically wasn't allowed the soft drink but decided to spoil himself anyways. Little cheats here and there was okay when you had to work out 5 times a week.
Kai didn't completely lie about stock brokering in. Although he wasn't a stock broker he at least held stocks in various companies. It was an intriguing position to be in and he hoped one day he'd be able to have more stocks in a company then an original owner. He liked to collect after all. When she spoke about a water color Kai smiled kindly. "That sounds lovely. I can't wait to see it!""My favorite artist is Vincent Van Gogh. I like his unique style, and his story. But I mean I also love Bob Ross, because who doesn't?" Kai would kill for a Bob Ross painting in his collection.
After Magnolia had taken the hot dogs Kai turned around to face the vendor. He slid two drinks for Kai on the counter of the hot dog stand. A diet pepsi can, and a bottle of water. "That'll be $9.50 for the two" The vendor spoke loudly. Kai looked into his wallet skimming through all his bills of money for the lowest dollar bill value. He hadn't really purchased anything anywhere so a $50 bill was all he had that was closest to the price of the meals.
"Hey!? DO I know you from somewhere dude?" The hot dog vendor asked him curiously. Kai looked at him with a kind smile and laughed. "Sadly no, I don't know you." Kai pulled out a $50 bill and handed it to the guy. "Keep the change." He spoke softly not really trying to draw attention from Magnolia. "Woah, are you sure dude? That's like a lot of money!" The vendor tried to get some reassurance. "Yeah I'm sure, for working so hard out here man!" Kai tried to laugh off the exchange with the vendor before turning back to Magnolia drinks in hand. "Let's go find a place to eat, unless you just want to stand out here." Kai was beginning to sweat a bit in his suit.
"It's a little hot out so why don't we head to somewhere with some shade?" Kai asked Magnolia curiously. "Or we could steal a bench, oh, and don't worry about the meal I covered it already!" He smiled nervously. Kai eyed around the park spotting a small picnic table with an umbrella attached to it. "Oh right there looks perfect!" He pointed to it with his right hand waving the water bottle in the direction.

she laughed when he told her how much he loved brioche."alrighty, i'll keep that in mind."she knew there some breads that were there were rotated in and out weekly. she was positive brioche was not one of them. she would have to write down the bakery's address for him later so he could hopefully see for himself that they did indeed have brioche.
she told him she paint a watercolor for him instead. he seemed to like that idea. she smiled at his reaction."i just hope it turns out. we shall see."
"starry night, i love that one."she tells him with a nod most artist like van gogh had interesting stories."bob ross is adorable, what is he always saying. oh, yes. happy little accidents."she said with a smile. it was a very iconic line of his. she'd seen him pop up here and there when she would search for a random painting tutorial to try. his landscape painting were amazing.
magnolia was standing behind kai, so she really couldn't see the transaction. she knew he was paying, but she wasn't aware that he had planned to pay for both. even after magnolia had told him, he didn't have to pay for her meal. not much she could do now. she kept quiet as they talked."do you come here that often the the vendor knows you?"she asked teasingly. with the plates still in her hands she nodded. finding a place to sit would be easier for them.
she nodded at his suggestions"sure, shade is fine with me."before she had the chance to say they could go back to the fountain he mentioned a bench and he told that he had paid for her meal. she kind of figured that he did once they left."is that why you got in line before me?"she asked with a laugh."well, thank you. next time i will treat you. oh, you know what. when you come down to the bakery you can get a loaf of brioche, my treat."she added with a smile.
"looks good to me."she told him when he pointed out the picnic table and the umbrella casting enough shade to hopefully cool him down."are you alright? if you're hot, maybe take off your jacket."she suggested as she sat the plates down on the bench before taking a seat. compared to him, magnolia was rather cool. then again she was wearing a pinafore dress with short sleeved top.
Kai looked at her as they made their way to the picnic table with the umbrella. She wasn't very confident in her drawing skills was she? Kai was pretty sure any artist could make something unique, and wasn't that the point? Not all art had to look 'perfect' right? Her art was sublime, but he didn't need to tell her that, it was something he felt like she would have to learn on her own. He was getting an original copy anyways, so he had something to be happy about.
He made his way to the picnic table sitting down. He was just now registering what she had said. "Yeah starry night is definitely a good one! And yes happy little accidents, kind of like running into you!" He smiled with a confident tone. He was very happy to be sharing his meal with someone, and not eating alone. Although he was sure they were going to be run into by paparazzi regardless if she was there or not at least he didn't have to face the media shit storm alone like usual. He was quite new to Lorsette, most of his friends were in America so he kept to himself for the most part in Lorsette. The paparazzi of course figured things out pretty quickly, and he was surprised at the amount of journalism here in the town.
"I don't actually come here that often at all.." He spoke nervously at her teasing. Did she pick up on who he was? He anxiously wondered if that was the case. "Yes it's why I got in line before you, your not mad are you? I figured I did promise you a free meal, so I like to deliver on those promises." He sat down crossing his legs widely underneath the picnic table. Did this woman just offer him brioche for free? He smiled politely and added. "I mean I'll take it, but I am more than willing to pay. You are running a business after all." He looked at her curiously when she suggested that he take his jacket off.
"Alright but no pictures," He added almost instinctively, but played it off with a nervous laugh. He took off his jacket exposing his light pink undershirt and dark chain necklace. He folded the jacket nicely and placed it beside himself. He gazed around noticing a group of people talking to the vendor at the hot dog stand. "Why don't we eat now, I'm pretty hungry." He said wondering if she was going to pass the hotdog over. He rolled over her bottle of water and popped open his can of diet pepsi to take a sip. "Thank you for coming to eat with me, it was very kind of you! I'm really enjoying myself."

it seemed like the picnic table was the better option. she knew how popular the fountain was and having a table was way better than trying to balance the plate on your lap. he seemed a bit distracted or was she imagining it? though she thought nothing of it once he mentioned starry night."you're right!"she laughed softly.
she really hadn't heard much of the conversation between them. what she managed to catch was the vendor saying how familiar kai look to them. she nodded at his response."maybe you just have one of those faces. the kind that people think they see often?"she said with a slight shrug."i'm sure the vendor sees lots of faces, after awhile they all start to look the same."she tells him. she wasn't a stranger to that."the only reason i remember some of my regulars is by what they order. they always order the same thing."hot dogs were pretty generic. unless someone went all out with how they ordered it.
she shook her head."no i'm not, it's okay."she smiled to reassure him that she wasn't mad about him pay for her food. it wasn't something she was used to."it's just one loaf. it alright."
"what?"she asked him obviously confused."i don't have my phone out."she said with a small laugh. she nodded when he said they should eat. she had set both plates down and they were closer to her than they were to him."oh right, here you go."she slide one over to him before she grabbed the water that he rolled over to her and took a drink."no problem at all. i couldn't let you eat by yourself. especially when you asked so nicely."she said with a smile.
Kai laughed at her reactions. First he laughed nervously when she mentioned he had a face that people seemed to recognize. Scratching the back of his head he calmly responded. "Yeah, I guess I just have one of those faces.." He groaned lightly after his response noticing the hot dog vendor pointing the two out. He looked at the hot dog and went. "Yummy looks so good! Time to eat!" And began scarfing down his hot-dog. He enjoyed it, he didn't get to have a hot dog very often, and it was usually as a surprise for something. This was nice, getting out and eating with a stranger even was pretty nice surprisingly. Kai wondered if he should do this more often, maybe get out of the manor more even if it meant being spotted.
"I'm glad your not mad. You don't appear to be someone who reads into things too deeply. He was of course referring to the paparazzi. He was wondering what kind of tagline they were going to have for their blogs, and newspapers. This was going to be either something surprising and fun for the woman next to him, or something totally horrible. "If you say so, but I bet one loaf could mean a lot to someone." Kai guzzled down his pepsi and tossed it into the recycling bin that was close to the picnic table, tossing his paper plate in the proper section as well. He watched around his surroundings noticing a group of individuals with cameras approaching from the south east. He grumbled under his breath.
"How are you enjoying your food?" He asked her. It was just a single hot dog, she would have plenty of time to finish it before the group of people showed up to their location. "I really like hot dogs, especially with ketchup and mustard!" He smiled brightly, playing it up a bit for the pictures he could just tell that were being taken right about now with a telephoto lens.
He waited for her to finish her food before asking a question. "Say do you like running? I don't mind it! Can I show you something? Stand up!" He gestured getting out of his seated position trying to get her to do the same so she wasn't completely blind sided by the approaching group of paparazzi storming up behind her. Sure enough in a matter of minutes the group approached from behind Magnolia and the first thing that happened was a loud shutter sound as a bright light flashed in their direction.
"Kai what are you doing in the park!?" One of the Paparazzi members shouted rather loudly. Another woman member spoke up. "Is this a date?!" Kai waved his hand away at them. "No comments, can you guys just leave me alone today?" He asked them honestly. Then they began pestering Magnolia now. "Miss how long have you known Kai Lust for?" The cameras began shuttering leaving a loud flashes streaking out through the park. "Has he tried anything funny with you? Are you two dating? What do YOU do for a living Ms? Can I get a name? I'd love to talk to you more in private ms" The paparazzi bombarded her with questions and Kai responded quickly looking at her. "You don't have to answer any of that!" He reached his hand out wanting to grab hers and begin running from the group of annoyances. "Running can be fun, Maggie" The paparazzi chimed up again. "Her name is Maggie!?" Kai kept her real name out of it to avoid her from having to actually deal with the aftermath of getting caught on an outing with him.

she figured she would start eating as well, it wouldn't taste as good cold. she took a few of bites. she shook her head."of course not, that's a silly thing to get mad about."
"perhaps, but you got me something. it's only fair that i give you something in return. what if i give it to you as a gift? you won't say no to a gift would you?"she asked with a smile before she continued to eat. had she always been a slow eater or was he just that hungry. he seemed to have finished his food rather quickly. was he in a hurry?
"it's good. uh, yeah ketchup and mustard are good."she said with a nod finishing what was left in a few bites. okay he was clearly acting weird. maybe this was a good time to part ways."running? it's alright. uh, sure? can i take care of my plate first?"she asked a little nervous as she quickly stood up when he told her too. that trash can wasn't too far from where they were so she quickly tossed her plate and grabbed her water bottle planning to stick it in her bag and she still had plenty left.
"what are you going to show me?"she had barely finished putting it away and slipping the small backpack back onto her shoulders when she heard them. it had startled her, the flashing of the cameras. she didn't hesitate to take a few steps back. they were asking so many questions. maybe he wasn't just a stock broker. these people wouldn't be taking pictures...unless he was someone well known.
it wasn't long before they focused their questions at her. she could not handle all those people staring at her asking her about things that she had no idea about. she just knew him as kai. the guy that likes van goh and bob ross and for whatever reason her sketches. she was like a deer caught in headlights. kai told her that she didn't have to respond and she simply nodded. it's not like she had planned on answering any of their questions in the first place, but it was nice to hear him say that. it kind brought her back to her senses.
he reached out for her hand and she took it without hesitating. she made sure she held on tight as soon as they started running away from the large crowd. running, is this why he asked her about running in the first place? did he know this was going to happen?"is that why you've been acting kind of weird."she said finally finding her voice. she knew it was probably not the best time to be having a conversation, but when would it ever be?
Kai could tell she was getting nervous around him. He didn't particularly like lying but found it a necessary evil. What was he supposed to do just tell her, the truth? Then she would view him differently and he didn't want that. At least now she got the 'normal guy' Kai experience, and he was happy with that. "I'm glad your not mad" He spoke thinking, at least not yet anyways. Kai was flustered when she had asked what he was going to show her. He hadn't really thought that far ahead yet. He came up with an idea, not really wanting to show her this, but found it as well a necessary evil. "I was going to show you my car, it's pretty rare." He said before the paparazzi completely swarmed them.
He watched her reactions when she was completely swarmed by questions, and was happy that she did decide not to answer any of them. She clearly knew something was up now, but maybe she didn't mind all that much, or would be fine with the little lie Kai told. He could hope anyways. She really was like a deer caught up in headlights, and he couldn't help but think she looked cute caught up in all the attention. When she took his hand he quickly began running, the paparazzi following as fast as they could behind him. He was pretty athletic, holding his jacket in one hand he reached into his pocket for his car keys. The thing was pretty luxurious looking and had a special bull/Taurus insignia signalling that it was a Lamborghini car fob. He ran through the paths with her listening to her words carefully.
"Yeah, I guess I didn't exactly plan to be avoided today, Maggie. I thought you would be less blindsided standing then sitting down. Plus it means we could jet out of there that faster." He began tapping the two buttons on the key fob as they approached the purple Lamborghini. The roof began opening, as it was a convertible. The car even started up from the keyfob the machine made a loud rumbling noise that could be heard even over the camera shutters. There was a group of people around the car as well as they approached. "I'll take you where you need to go, and then I can get the bakery address from you? Maybe your number?" He asked while running, trying to pick up the pace even more.
"I really enjoyed myself so it would be a shame to have our meeting end here." When Kai reached the car he let go of Magnolia's hand, and rounded around to the front. "Get in, it's perfectly safe aside from having a loud engine." Kai quickly hopped into his car over the door instead of opening it. expecting Magnolia to do the same really. He really didn't understand why she wouldn't if she decided to stay she had the paparazzi to deal with and they were no fun. Kai had a big smile plastered on his face throughout this experience, he clearly enjoyed running from the paparazzi and was having a good time doing it.
