Lexie Jay Abbot tell me reality is better than a dream. general info
appearance Lexie looks younger than she is. Her round brown eyes and sunny smile make her seem innocent and approachable. She has a lean build, helping her speed, but her muscles aren't overly prominent. She looks like she'd loose any fight she got in Lexie is probably a bit too proud of her silky red hair. The waist-lengthed locks often get in the way of her work, so she's gotten used to wearing it up most of the time. Keeping her hair in a neat ponytail can be a struggle, and when she's in a hurry a few strands start falling out pretty quickly. Lexie doesn't like wearing restricting clothing. She knows her speed is an important skill if anything goes wrong, so she doesn't like to wear long dresses that could hinder her from running. As such, she never wears a skirt that goes beneath her knees. She also doesn't like overly complicated outfits. She doesn't see the point in layering jewelry or other accessories on already flashy ensembles. She isn't used to dressing for comfort though, and usually goes for something classy but simple unless she's in uniform. Because of the extreme inability to tolerate the cold that comes with her naga genes, she always wears a temperature regulating charm: a locket her mother gifted her with when she turned 16. personality
When it comes to responsibilities and duties, Lexie is a force to be reckoned with. Her sense of right and wrong can be confused, but when it comes down to it she will do whatever she has to in order to excel. Loyalty, family, and duty are arguably the three most important things to her. There are very few situations that would lead her to betray anyone’s trust in her. If someone tells her a secret, she will keep it but she’ll probably suggest they do the right thing every step of the way. Outside of work and her other responsibilities, Lexie has a more playful, mischievous attitude. So long as she's not causing too much trouble she doesn’t see any reason to be in full serious mode all the time. She likes to keep things light rather than delving into more emotional subjects. In fact, being honest about her emotions, even to herself, is something she rarely does. If she’s suffering she’d rather go through it on her own than get others involved. She’ll usually be there to help others even when she’s not alright herself, which can sometimes lead to her getting overloaded. Lexie has no problem talking to large groups of people, but when it comes to having hard conversations one on one she falters. She usually wants whomever she's talking to to be happy, so if she doesn't know how to give them bad news without overcompensating and becoming a nervous mess. She'll often try to plan out such situations and sit down with a level head and a plan that quickly digresses into a nervous blubber once she actually starts talking. She'd be able to do much better sending a text or an email. If you get on Lexie's bad side she'll act very stubborn and a bit childish. She won't challenge you to a fight she knows she can't win, but she'll glare at you or give you the cold shoulder until you start being nicer. Usually she doesn't really dislike anyone unless they are jerks or overly stubborn about unnecessary things. abilities Poison Manipulation ~ Lexie can precisely manipulate poisons in liquid and gas forms. She's been trained to identify different poisons and has a general idea which of the common ones ones will paralyze humans along with how much she can use without causing actual long term damage. She doesn't know the effects of every type of poison, but she's studied them long enough to know which ones to avoid if she doesn't want to kill anyone. She cannot create poison save for that which comes naturally in her snake form, which isn't strong enough to do long term damage to a human. Enhanced Speed ~ Speed has always been a vital part of Lexie's life. Since she was young she trained to increase her speed and stamina, along with her reflexes. She can run quickly for hours if she needs too. She's also practiced accuracy along with that speed, so she can keep her footing and readjust herself easily should she fall off balance. Her speed doesn't instantly translate to fighting instincts, and that combined with her physical weakness means she'll probably spend more time dodging and running than actually throwing punches. Due to weaker muscles, overexerting herself can leave Lexie super sore the next day if she doesn't pay attention to her limits. Snake Shifting ~ Lexie can shift into a red spitting cobra. In this form she can move faster and get into smaller areas without being noticed which helps her with her work as a scout. She can also half-shift, just changing her lower half into a tail. In either of these forms she is more vulnerable to the cold and it takes her about 30 seconds to transform. If she is severely wounded she'll instantly shift back into her human form. Hypnosis ~ When she was young, Lexie didn't like the idea of being able to 'control' someone else. As such she didn't really focus on fine tuning this ability until she was a bit older. By maintaining eye contact and using a soothing tone she can sort of put her target into a trance to make them more susceptible to doing what she wants them to. She has to be keeping solid eye contact and can't be overly emotional to pull this off. Mental blocks or a strong will can allow someone resist this ability, especially if she's no longer maintaining contact with them. Naturals: Minor Healing Factor, Poison Immunity, Enhanced Flexibility, Magic Tasting backstory As the second child to an old, wealthy family, expectations have always been high for Lexie. Since she was too young to remember, she and her two brothers James and Tadashi were shaped into the next generation of Abbot scouts for the TRS. Years of tradition had carved out a deep path no member of the family would dare wander from. Lexie never saw this as a burden to carry, but rather a fact of life. She’d grow up to be the perfect scout and at some point she’d marry a man of her parents’ choosing. That’s just the way it was, and she was fine with it. Even when she was a child, her life was mapped out for her. Her father had made sure their education was unbeatable, putting them through public school and private lessons provided by a never ending stream of personal tutors. The three children would be shaped into intelligent people and Lexie always strived to beat the expectations already placed on her, not because she cared what her parents wanted but because she wanted to be the best. When she wasn’t in some sort of lesson she often spent her time studying and didn’t have the time or reason for friends. She still cared deeply about her family, but studying always came before having fun. Their father carefully introduced them to games and exercises to boost the stamina they’d need for their future careers. Lexie always seemed to struggle more on the physical side of things, but she only saw that as a reason to try harder. She wanted to impress her parents and she couldn’t do that if she was falling behind. She began pushing herself harder and harder, even if it left her sore and exhausted the next day. Unless she seriously strained or injured herself, she’d cover any pain with the cheerful attitude she faced everyone with. When she was 11, the future she’d always known was actually set in place. She’d known her parents had been looking for a suitable match for her since she was practically a baby. Her brothers had already been matched up, but it didn’t seem real until she was introduced to Adrian Valentine, her husband to be. Adrian wasn’t actually that bad. He was a smart kid, just as committed to his future as she was. She didn’t mind spending time with him, but she couldn’t equate him to the prince in her fairy tale. She knew those stories were fantasies and the odds of her finding someone that swept her off her feet and gave her butterflies were very low, but some small bit of hope had persisted until she saw him, her future, standing in front of her. She was too young to accept it. She made it a point to avoid Adrian in the coming years, finding excuses to avoid anywhere she knew she’d see him. When she was 16, a new kid transferred into her class. Gabriel Palmer. She didn’t pay him much attention at first, but it didn’t take long for him to notice her. She knew better than to get involved, but he flirted relentlessly and she didn’t know how to handle the situation. For a while she denied any feelings she had toward him, but when he came forward and asked her out she said yes. He’d gotten to know her enough by then to know about her engagement, but he didn’t seem to mind. She still made efforts to keep the relationship a secret. Lexie liked Gabriel, but she knew how stupid it had been to fall for him. For a long time she struggled between her emotions and what she knew was right. A year after they started dating, it all came to an end. Gabriel’s mom’s job forced him to attend another school and, though it was only a few hours away, it felt like oceans separated them. She still remembers his blue eyes turning back to catch one last look at her and the lopsided smile on his face as he said the three words that would haunt her dreams for years to come: “Wait for me.” But she knew she couldn’t. She’d known from the beginning that their relationship wouldn’t be able to go anywhere, and now it was time to face that reality. She was engaged and breaking that engagement would be unacceptable to her, even if she thought her parents would allow it. It broke her heart, but she had no choice but to end things there. It was around this time that Lexie realized she didn’t really know her betrothed. When they’d been introduced, their engagement had been set for years in the future. Now it was only a few months and all she knew about him was what she’d learned through the guarded conversations they’d had in the past. The thought of marrying a stranger made her nauseous. A few months after Gabriel left, Lexie had gotten her emotions under control and went to have a real talk with Adrian. He was sweet, but he seemed as reluctant about their engagement as she was. That didn’t really change things in Lexie’s mind, but he suggested putting off their engagement until they could get to know each other better. She didn’t like lying about the real reason to her parents, but she told them they both wanted to focus on advancing in work before she had to deal with being married. And that’s what she did. He works in the same unit as her so they spend time together and are getting to know each other better, but her main focus has still been proving herself to be an amazing scout. misc Likes: Work, A Good Book, Coffee, Routines Dislikes: Jerks, Lazy people, Ice cream (or any other cold food), Disorder Goals and Dreams: Lexie doesn't really have a long term goal, she just wants to do her best at whatever she's doing at the moment. Greatest Fears: Lexie fears loosing someone she cares about because she wasn't strong enough to be there for them. | roleplayer info ☆ NAME Leesee ☆ RP EXPERIENCE about 5 years ☆ TIMEZONE Central European Time ☆ GENDER Female ☆ AGE Teen-aged ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS N/A ☆ FACE CLAIM league of legends, battle academia Lux ---------------------- THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO LEESEE.
