Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

was it weird coming to the place you worked on your days off? well maybe it was for other, but for harv it was sort of natural. after all if he couldn't find a cup off coffee or he didn't have time he'd always come here and grab something to go.
currently he had returned from classes. he was done for the day and he had not gotten a drop of coffee in him all day. he figured since it was on the way home he might as well make a stop. it wasn't like he was in any rush to get home. all that was waiting for him was his homework.
he scanned the area and there were a couple of bodies scattered around. it was normal during this time of day. after he placed his drink order he picked a table, right next to the window. he figured if he was going to wait for his cappuccino to be made he could do a bit of reading and get a bit a head on his reading assignment. the more he did here the less he had to do at home. he wasn't sure why he found it easier to focus outside his house. most likely because he was way to comfortable at home. he could kick back and relax. of course he also had all his movies, music and video games in his room. it wouldn't be that hard to find something to distract him from his homework.

NOTE: Hopefully my post was clear enough, but I had it where Alida's check is on the table and she needs to collect it in order to pay for her meal.
When Alida left the cafe’s public restroom to return to the table she had previously been occupying, she certainly hadn’t expected to find someone else already inhabiting it. The set of dark blue hair, and the male’s broad, muscular, build set off an instant rigidness within the blond while the realization sunk into her stomach that this would be the first person she would interact with, besides the Norwood family, since here arrival to Lorsette. The folded slip of amount due check that had somehow halfway tucked itself underneath the condiments holder was the cause of this unfortunate situation she had landed in.
“Hi, excuse me,” When the words escaped her they sounded far more stiffer than intended, and as she rounded the table and caught a glimpse of the male from the front, her posture grew progressively more rigid. Mahagony-colored eyes widened as her complexion lost most of its color, her hand raised halfway toward the table but now stalled and forgotten, as she looked on in momentary horror.
It’s not him. Her heart pounded viciously against her chest regardless of the revelation. Realizing that she had mistaken the dark-skinned male for someone else, Alida jerked her gaze from him to instead look toward the receipt at the end of the table.
he yawned softly behind the book. he made sure to mark his spot before setting it down and taking a drink of his cappuccino. it seemed like they weren't as busy as he thought. less than five minutes and they had served him his drink.
he picked up his book once more and continued to read where he left of. or more like he was going to when someone interrupted him. his eyes looked up and over the book."hello?"he said as he he continued to have the book open. she stood there like if she had forgotten to speak or maybe she simply forgot what she was going to say. he stared at her not trying to be rude, but trying to determine if he had seen her around before. he had gotten better at remember faces and what they drank, but that was only at the cafe and when he was working on his shift. he doubted he'd remember them if he happened to see them outside of this place. unless of course they became friends or something. he was completely lost in his own thoughts now.
he hoped it was enough time for her to collect her thoughts. again he came to the conclusion that he in fact did not recognize her. at that moment he sat the book down and spoke once more."miss, you alright?"

NOTE: ---
“Miss, you alright?” He didn’t look demonic in nature. As Alida turned her gaze back to the seated male, briefly glancing over him, she confirmed his perfectly human appearance, which reminded her of Wayne although her friend was of a shorter stature.
“Awkward, sorry,” She supplied in a low tone and with a subtle raise of both of her arms before her, and then she made a gesture toward the end of the table where her check was located. “Cleaned up fast, I guess,” She further mumbled and then leaned forward to finally grab the slip of paper, bringing it before her to take a quick look. “Need this to pay for my meal.”
She frowned down at the check for a moment, but within her peripheral vision she secretly kept a close eye on the male before her. She didn’t trust him, human appearance or not, and he was the first person she had interacted with outside of family friends. She also knew that her mutterings probably hadn’t made a lick of sense, but she didn’t really care. It wasn’t like he was important or anything. But, then again… was she supposed to be making friends? She didn’t want to make friends with random strangers in cafe’s who accidentally took her booth while she had been in the bathroom.
he was glad he had bookmarked his spot. the book he was currently reading wasn't anything he would of read. it was all for school of course. not that he was much of a reader to begin with. he preferred books that didn't have long series. not that he wouldn't read them once in a while. she apologized and his attention returned to the girl. right. she was at the table because? now that was the question that needed to be answered.
he watched her and chuckled softly. so she had forgotten her money. yes, that would of been hard to explain to the owners. he moved out of her way. he was going to retrieve it for her, but she was quicker than he."what no dine and dash?"he said teasingly.
he cleared his throat. maybe it wasn't the best joke to use."i was kidding."he told her quickly. he hadn't dawned on him that he had taken her booth."you didn't leave anything else behind did you? i've been there before. i left my book bag here once. they kept it for me till i was able to come back for it."okay now he was just rambling. he wasn't sure where he was going with his. he took another drink of his cooling beverage and waited for her to respond.

NOTE: ---
“What no dine and dash?” When the blue-haired guy openly joked, Alida lifted her gaze from the receipt check to stare at him dubiously. The humor in his tone ended with him awkwardly clearing his throat instead. “I was kidding.”
“You didn’t leave anything else behind did you?” Her expression remained hesitant during the beginning of the conversation. Surprise was slowly bubbling within her as the seated male continued to casually converse with her. He was bringing up his own experience in order to be relatable to her, even.
A slow dawning smile began to form on her features, and Alida subtly cocked her head to one side as she continued observing him while he told her about his book bag experience. She wasn’t used to this kind of treatment. She wasn’t used to people so casually talking to her and in such a friendly way. There was nothing else there, no ulterior motive, no hidden thoughts, or threat, and she found it very… curious.
“Pretty sure I didn’t leave anything else around.” Chuckling softly, Alida pressed the palms of her hands against the tabletop, leaning forward to look around. She had the tendency to unconsciously, without care or concern, invade other people’s personal space. Assured that she hadn’t left anything else at the booth, she drew back and looked to him. “But, it sounds like you frequent this cafe?”
he sipped his beverage as he continued to talk with the lovely blonde. it hadn't occured to him that maybe she had come back to the table in search of her check because she had other things to do than talk to him. yet here he was chatting her ear off. wasn't he always thinking he was bad at conversations, yet here he was doing just that. he had made a joke and it was obvious he wasn't great at them. hey, at least he tried right? points for effort.
he wanted to make sure she had all her things before she left and he was told that everything was accounted for. he nodded before taking another sip. he was all to familiar with leaving things behind, especially if he was in a rush. he chuckled at her comment. he knew she wasn't a regular, or at least a regular during his shift. of course she wouldn't know that he worked there. even on his days off he could be found in the cafe. not all the time or at least he'd like to think it wasn't all the time."oh, i work here when i don't have class of course."he told her with a nod."mention my name and you'll get a discount. oh, im harvey by the way. hopefully i haven't kept you too long."
