Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Easy to find what's wrong, harder to find what's right.
The reaper had arrived back to his home in the dead of night after being out doing who knew what. He was quiet as he entered his home, having opted to just take to walking for the time being, and slipped his shoes off by the door before he made his way over to where the kitchen was. He flipped on the light in the otherwise dark house, needing to see if he was going to find something to eat. He opened the fridge and scanned his eyes over what was in the fridge. A soft grunt of disapproval escaped him as he took notice of how he was going to need to make a grocery list soon for some of the items there. He reached in and grabbed the thing of orange juice before he closed the fridge, walking over to the counter as he reached up and opened a cabinet to grab a glass.
He paused a moment as he took notice of a soft padding of footsteps coming his way, reaching to grab another glass before he opened the orange juice and poured some into both glasses. "Did I wake you when I came in, Yue?" He questioned his familiar as he put the cap back onto the orange juice and lifted the glasses, turning to offer one to the woman he had come to be quite comfortable around due to how many years they had lived together. He was still just as emotionless as ever but he did try to make attempts of showing some form of emotion around his two companions. "Is Sei going at his book again or is he sleeping for once?" He added, a small hint of an amused look crossing his eyes as he also appeared less cold and distant despite being such an emotionless bastard.
The familiar had been sleeping quite peacefully before her sensitive hearing picked up the softish footfalls of her master's return home. Part of her wanted to ignore the man and stay in bed, as she was sure that he had nothing terribly interesting to say to her other than ask where his dinner may have been located. Still, she stretched herself out and made her way into the kitchen. The man was standing there with two glasses of orange juice, prepared for the both of them to enjoy at this random time of night.
It was no surprise to her when he asked about the boy that was living with them and his studies. Of course he was more worried about whether the boy was getting sufficient rest, or if he was studying too much again. Sei was known to not take care of himself, either because he was too stupid, or just that easily distracted. "He is fine, I believe. I did not see his light on in the hallway when I came out." She mentioned quietly, taking her glass and gingerly sipping at it. "What about you? Was your travel into the city... Fulfilling?" Not that it was really any of her business what her master got up to or what kind of trouble he got into. At least he didn't seem to be injured.
Easy to find what's wrong, harder to find what's right.
Sven nodded to her words about his adopted son, glad that he was resting and not staying up all night studying or...whatever he was doing. He raised his glass of orange juice to his lips and took a sip from it as he kept his eyes on the woman before him, listening to what else she had to say. He lowered his glass and shifted to lean against the counter a little, crossing one arm under his chest as he rested his elbow slightly against it. "I ran into an old friend of mine back during my time as a soldier during the war. I invited him to come join us at some point for dinner though he has to inform his husband about my invitation." He told her, shrugging slightly as he did not really care if his old friend showed or not. It had been centuries since he had last seen either of his friends anyway so there were no hard feelings. If...there were any feelings in the first place.
He raised his glass to his lips once more to take another sip of the juice once more before lowering it away from his lips again. "However, I have learned some information about the whereabouts of another old friend of mine from the war as well. He resides in the territory claimed by that Assembly of Phantoms group. It's dangerous territory but I have full intentions of going to his home alone." He paused to gauge her reaction to his words of heading into dangerous territory alone before he sighed a little. "I am not leaving until I have either of your opinions, and perhaps some information from Sei for what I should expect. Though that can wait until tomorrow." He added in before he looked away and turned his silver gaze up towards the ceiling for a few moments. He then just raised his glass to his lips and just drank the rest of his orange juice before he moved away from the counter and turned to go put his glass in the sink and take the thing of orange juice to put it back in the fridge.
He walked over to the woman and raised a hand to place it on her head between her rabbit ears, gently rubbing her there. "Yue, should I make you anything to snack on since you are awake? If not you may feel free to retire with me to my room." He told her, not really needing sleep but often times he'd stay up reading in his room or watch an occasional movie. Or go over any bounties available to take. Inviting the woman to his room was nothing new though, often times he'd invite his familiar to come join him in reading or watching something or to just talk. Sometimes he'd find himself managing to fall asleep from some head massages he'd get from her, which he supposed was fine enough as well. It wasn't like he had any romantic feelings towards her, or towards anyone really. Honestly he wasn't sure if he was capable of any emotions.
Yue listened as her master spoke, wondering whether or not he was serious about going alone to dangerous territory. She sighed and shook her head. "You really are trouble, aren't you?" She asked with a huff. "That sort of territory is dangerous, even for someone like you." But she supposed that he probably couldn't really die, and no one would really want to challenge him either. Still, going alone was something that she couldn't condone. Maybe he would take her with if she gave him enough hell for it. Still, he finished his orange juice and put everything away. She moved over to the sink to wash their glasses quickly before he invited her to retire to his room, to which she just nodded.
She followed her master to his room after making sure the doors were locked and the lights were all turned off. She took up a small space at the edge of his bed and waited for him to get comfortable before curling up and pulling some covers over herself. Unlike her master and the boy she cared for, she had to sleep on a semi-regular basis in order to keep herself sharp and ready.
But something was bothering her. "Are your friends important enough to you to risk yourself like that?" Of course, it was odd to her that he would have friends in the first place.
Easy to find what's wrong, harder to find what's right.
Sven went to his room and managed to get ready for bed; if he could even sleep that was but at least he'd be in more comfortable clothing. He climbed into his bed as his familiar waited for him to get comfortable before she curled up and pulled some covers over herself. He looked up at the ceiling as he rested an arm behind his head and a hand over his belly, just listening to the silence that surrounded them until his familiar spoke once more. Her question was a surprising one, to which he turned his head to look at her, his silver eyes searching the woman for any hint of what she meant by that question.
"They are from my life before I was killed. They were actually quite close to me before I was killed and on my own. Obviously they are not as close to me as they were before, I had not even known either were still alive until I ran into one earlier." He paused, turning his head to look back up at the ceiling for some moments as the silence fell over them once again. He could understand her concern, however, seeing how they both were bound to one another and he was going into dangerous territory. "I merely wish to ensure that it is safe for the both of you first. However, you and I will discuss this more once you've had some rest. It is late." He spoke up once more, turning his head to look at her once again. He shifted onto his side to face her momentarily as he patted the spot beside him. "Come closer so you don't fall off the edge." He mentioned, shifting back onto his back once more as he proceeded to look up at the ceiling again.
It would be a rather long night, but he had managed to get to sleep some nights to just pass the time. Seeing how he was home and it was indeed safe he saw no harm in doing just that. Should he manage to fall asleep that is. Even with some practice it was still rather difficult for him, but that didn't annoy or irritate him. It wasn't like he needed it in the first place. His familiar, however, did need sleep and he would be sure she got the rest she needed. He at least was courteous about taking care of the ones closest to him.
