Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Somewhere, a mysterious trickster was attempting to pull strings, hoping to capture somebody in his webs with an obnoxious attempt at foolery. Aggravation flowed heavily through Harrison's veins as he hopped behind the wheel of his small, black car. Tidbits of information was given by Josiah related to a mysterious individual attempting to entice him to a cheap motel in Lorsette's outskirts. Concerns about the man's intentions surfaced upon receiving information about the situation related to somebody posing as him.
The circumstances were frustrating, especially with Harrison's intense feelings towards the adorable, green-eyed brunette. His affection towards Josiah was boundless and he feared the impostor could ruin his chances of dating him. Everything about the nephilim was pleasant to interact with, effectively making Josiah the first person to properly connect with Harrison since leaving the safety of his home. Through the streets of Aria Village, the giant drove, thoughts consumed by this mysterious trickster. The Assembly soldier feared they desired to do despicable acts to his dearest Josiah.
Quickly, the giant arrived at the Ivory Fortress, the Assembly's hideout located in the wilderness. He left his vehicle, locking the doors before heading towards the foreboding fortress. The large, grey brick walls stood tall and sturdy, refusing to crumble when placed under pressure. The infamous Krueger managed to enter the fortress without issue and headed towards the medical area where he would find Josiah. When he arrived, the blue-haired man smiled upon seeing the magnificent brunette complete his objectives of the day.
The giant waited until Josiah was distracted with putting supplies away or anything involving a patient. Slowly and quietly, the blue-haired man crept behind his crush, reaching to try and cover his eyes.
"Guess who," the Assembly soldier said, chuckling a bit.
Despite his feelings towards the individual attempting to lure his precious Josiah, Harrison could still manage some playfulness towards the man he loved. After a guess was provided, the Assembly soldier freed the medic's eyes, a content smile stretched across his countenance. When finished with his jokes, Harrison patiently waited for Josiah to finish his shift in the medical area. From afar he secretly admired the brunette as he on his remaining tasks. His beauty truly shone when he was focused on something... It was adorable...
Eventually, the time arrived to leave, Harrison standing as he waited for Josiah to fetch whatever he needed to. When the nephilim arrived to where he waited, the giant offered him an arm.
"May I escort you out, sir?" Harrison teased in a semi-flirtatious tone.
Whether or not Josiah would take the offered arm, Harrison would lead the way through the Ivory Fortress and out to where his black car was parked. He walked around the car, opening the passenger's side door for the brunette. When his dearest Josiah entered, Harrison closed the door and walked to his destination, the driver's side. He smoothly entered the car, turning the ignition on. The engine roared to life, signalling that Harrison could use the vehicle. The giant maneuvered to return down the road and onto the highway which would bring them to Lorsette.
"Tell that imposter you are coming. We don't want whoever it is ditching last minute," Harrison requested, sparing a glance at Josiah.
Their mission was to capture the mysterious stranger who messaged Josiah. The Assembly soldier already decided he wanted meet this individual and find out his intentions. Already, the giant was considering suitable punishments for his impostor, ones he believed the person deserved for nearly ruining his chances with Josiah. After an hour long drive, Harrison and Josiah arrived in Lorsette, following the street signs to the location of the motel. As they entered the outskirts and approached, the giant slowed the vehicle while he read the sign.
Slowly, he pulled into the parking area, finding a location to park his car while his eyes analyzed the location. The motel was a grungy location, somewhere cheap and disgusting. A frown carved onto the giant's face as he glanced over at Josiah.
"This place... is disgusting... I'm glad I came with you... I would never make you come to a place like this," Harrison commented. "You can stay here or come with me, I won't make you follow."
Afterwards, the Assembly soldier opened his door, closing it behind him. He walked along the numbered doors, searching for room 201. Eventually, Harrison discovered the numbered door, his hand reaching out to knock. He waited patiently, wondering who was beyond the door, posing as him and trying to persuade poor Josiah to come here. When the door's knob turned, Harrison prepared himself to witness the face through the threshold. The blue-haired man's irritated expression shifted to surprise upon seeing who lurked inside room 201.
"Lammy?!" Harrison questioned as he stared.
There was a "mirror" through the threshold in the form of Harrison's twin brother, Lambert Acaster. His dearest brother had traded his redhead for blue locks and similarly disguised his eye colour. Shortly after graduation, the shorter giant had escaped the overbearing pride of his mother, trading it for the comforts of an organization his father taught him about. The Assembly of Phantoms was despised by the remainder of his direct family, Lambert included, thus Harrison left without a goodbye. They would never approve of his actions and the blue-haired twin believed they would hate him for it.
The goals of the Assembly were something Harrison fought for because of his father's teachings and nobody else comprehended the tight connection they had. Since his father's death, he found himself alone, uncertain about his route until he finally followed in the man's footsteps.
Josiah was putting supplies away when suddenly hands covered his face, he jumped, hearing Harrison ask to guess who. "Hmm.... how about Harrison?" He teased playfully, adjusting so that he could melt against Harrison's form. He chuckled as he found comfort in being against Harrison. Thoughts giving him comfort since earlier he had a conversation with Harrison about how he hadn't met him to invite him to a hotel. It made him wonder who had been the person inviting him to the hotel. Once released, he finished putting the supplies away before planning his escape with Harrison since he was done for the day. Harrison had offered his arm and Josiah gladly took it. "Yes, please do." He teased back in a flirting manner, following Harrison towards the car. He couldn't help but smile, appreciating Harrison opening the door for him. He got inside and bucketed as he waited for Harrison to join him in the car.
As soon as they were on the road, Harrison requested him to reach out to the imposter to let him know that he was on his way, motive was to keep the imposter from leaving the hotel since he had been invited to come over. He sent a text message, 'I'll be there shortly.' The drive was met with silence, he was pondering who would be interested in impostering Harrison to really focus on anything else. If he had known it wasn't Harrison, he never would have agreed to come to the hotel. He was pulled from his thoughts when Harrison had parked the car, having made a comment about the appearance. He smiled back at Harrison before adding, "I'd go anywhere with you." Though he had to admit, this place was really disgusting looking. Harrison gave him the choice to come or stay in the car. Though he was curious about who the imposter was, he hesitated to get out of the car to follow Harrison inside.
It was a few minutes later that he finally gained the courage to get out of the car to follow Harrison inside, walking quickly so that he'd hopefully catch up to him. He found 201, door opened to show Lambert, of course to him he appeared like another Harrison, only taller. He listened when Harrison, called out a name. So they know each other? He thought to himself, standing there in silence.
Lambert was laying on his bed, staring up at the ceiling, bored out of his mind. He heard his phone go off, he lifted it from the nightstand table and noticed he received a text message from Josiah. A small smile tugged onto his lips before he replied back, 'Alright, see you soon.' He then proceeded to set his cell phone back on the nightstand as he debated on what he should do now. Slowly he rose from his bed to head towards his suitcase to withdraw some clothes from his dresser, having chosen to shower and change into a fresh pair. Though he didn't favor being in this hotel, it suited his needs nicely and so he chose to stay here since money was tight at the moment. He went into the bathroom, showering before changing into his fresh pair of clothes. He then moved to lay on the bed, waiting for the door to be knocked on.
As soon as there was a knock, he rose from the bed before making his way towards the door, opening it for Josiah. To his surprise, Josiah wasn't outside his door but Harrison, somebody he hadn't seen since the day his brother ran away from home. I guess I should have expected this to happen sooner or later, since I am impostering him and all. He thought to himself before noticing Josiah arrive, most likely being in earshot to hear his name being called. "Who?" He asked, playing dumb with Harrison, not that it would work but he'd be damned if he didn't try. "Oh I see you came after all." He answered towards Josiah, having a pretty good idea on why Harrison was here.
If I had known they'd be together, I might have refrained but then again this is too much fun to pass up. He thought to himself before a smug grin formed across his lips. "Unfortunately I'll have to take a rain check because something has come up." He answered to Josiah before glancing towards Harrison. Suddenly he backed away, attempting to slam the door closed on Harrison. If he thinks I'm done impostering him, he has another thing coming. He thought to himself, debating on slipping through the window while he has the chance.
Playfulness arrived naturally whenever Harrison found himself in Josiah's presence. The adorable brunette made the Assembly soldier's heart soar by merely standing beside him and interacting with him. The sweet reactions the green-eyed beauty was a testiment to his wholesome nature. There was something about his innocence which attracted Harrison's everlasting love and affection towards him. The dangerous missions handed out by the Assembly of Phantoms made Josiah a pleasant calm in the infamous Krueger's life.
The person inside the hotel room was potentially a threat to a piece of Harrison's life he refused to relinquish. It inspired Harrison's reasons for enjoying his closeness to Josiah in those few moments. The thought of nearly losing the brunette was frightening to him, those emotions stirring in his stomach the instant he heard about the hotel was mentioned by his friend. Many times, he considered dating Josiah, and those wishes existed, but the confidence and opportunity were eluding the blue-haired Assembly soldier.
Briefly, Harrison had looked over his shoulder when he heard footsteps, pausing a moment to allow Josiah the opportunity to catch up. A button on the keys was pushed, successfully assuring the car doors would be locked. Alas, the blue-haired man standing in the hotel's threshold was a surprise. The "mirror" Krueger found himself staring into was his twin brother with hair dyed blue to impostor him. The identical twin inside the room began playing dumb, Harrison glaring at him as he crossed his arms.
"You should know who," Harrison commented, subtle anger to his voice.
Only moments later was a rain check mentioned, the Assembly soldier noticing the moments Lambert was making. Quickly, Harrison stepped forward, jamming his foot into the door as his twin brother slammed it. There was a slight pain, however, it was hardly noticed as his blue eyes watched his brother hurry out the window. Quickly, the shorter twin turned, reaching to scoop up Josiah before following through the window, albeit, with more caution because of the precious bundle in his arm. Enhanced strength was activated to make the task of carrying the brunette easier.
The Assembly soldier was determined to track down his brother, especially given the circumstances of their visit to the hotel. Alas, he refused to leave Josiah inside the filthy hotel all by himself.
Josiah was grateful that Harrison hadn't gotten too far ahead of him when he followed him to the room. Harrison locked the car and he remained behind as he peeked to see that there seemed to be two Harrisons, unaware that one of them was Lambert, Harrison's younger twin. He flinched when a rain check was mentioned before the door had been slammed closed, being stopped when Harrison had stuck his foot in the way. "Are you alright?" He whispered when he suddenly blushed to Harrison picking him and and following Lambert outside through the window.
Lambert couldn't help but chuckle when Harrison countered him, clearly angry. Too bad for him he hadn't planned on catching up, since upset that Harrison had ran away from home in the first place. "You're mistaken." He countered Harrison in return, then he told Josiah how he'd have to take a rain check before suddenly attempting to slam the door on them. He was debating on going out the window when he noticed the door had stopped closing, he glanced behind himself before rushing towards the window, prying it open before slipping outside. He looked from side to side, deciding on a direction before heading there, hoping that Harrison would lose track of him.
These circumstances were unexpected, although, with foresight Harrison should have guessed his twin could successfully masquerade as him. Two possibilities existed, Lambert impostor him or somebody with illusion manipulation who failed to realize his height. Alas, the signs of the former redhead playing him was sensible considering his twin's shrinking capabilities were less capable than his. No matter who the culprit was, Harrison was determined to pursue Lambert and discover the reason behind these decisions.
His impostor stated he was mistaken, but Harrison was certain the person who contacted Josiah was his twin brother. With Josiah scooped in his arms and tightly held, the blue-haired giant followed his brother. He slipped out the window, following the direction his brother chose. The Assembly soldier failed to answer Josiah in his hurry and similarly failed to notice the magnificent red hue which painted across the nephilim's cheek. A flustered Josiah was something welcomed by Harrison, however, he was more concerned with his twin brother.
Josiah couldn't help but feel slightly overwhelmed. It wasn't really the fact Harrison hadn't answered him but the fact that they were to hang out and now Lambert had Harrison's attention. Of course he wasn't aware that Lambert was in fact Harrison's twin, only the fact Harrison seemed to think so. He chose to remain quiet as Harrison carried him in an attempt to capture Lambert. I wonder if I would have been better off staying in the car. He thought to himself, but Harrison was so comfy, he chose at this time to remain with him, at least until things got super dangerous for him that is.
Lambert couldn't help but peek behind himself to see that Harrison was following him. Granted he believed Harrison to be slower upon noticing his brother carrying Josiah around, but it still hadn't changed the fact that he wasn't ready to face his brother and yet as soon as Harrison had found him, losing him seemed impossible. As he felt from Harrison, he happened to come across some AP that had believed him to be Krueger. Of course instead of interacting with them, he kept running and it wouldn't be long before the next to see him was a Terror. This one believed him as an imposter and started chasing him around. Some TRS in the area had caught sight of him and believing him to be Krueger attempted to capture him only for the Terror chasing after him, attacking them instead. The TRS weren't aware that Terror was chasing after him because he wasn't the real Krueger. If he didn't know any better, he'd believe the AP members had believed him to be Krueger just because that Terror looked like it was helping instead of chasing him. Oh my god this is so annoying... He thought to himself, making sure to keep walking because he wanted to ditch Harrison for good.
Capturing Lambert was a crucial goal in Harrison's mind as he trailed the former redhead. Constantly, his blue eyes analyzed the area as he hurried behind the man masquerading as him. His arms tightened around Josiah to assure he would not fall or get dropped on accident. The alleyway eventually opened up, revealing the unfortunate struggles of his foolish impostor. There were reasons why people avoided pretending to be Assembly of Phantoms members. Terrors could recognize a disguise, proving they were more intelligent than meets the eye.
Quietly, Harrison watched as the terror chase Lambert with the intentions of hurting him. Unfortunately, the real Krueger could not assist his brother with the creature. Interrupting a terror could be considered traitorous, however, if required he would cease the vicious monster from tearing his brother apart. The blue-haired twin observed, watching as Lambert fled, eventually running into a pair of TRS hunters. The display was surprising, the terror changing targets in favour of the threatening TRS agents opposed to the impostor.
Carefully, Harrison walked forward, holding Josiah protectively as he strode towards his brother. Dream manipulation was among Krueger's many abilities, thus he hoped the hunters would believe they were dreaming.
"Are you done running?" He asked in a harsh whisper.
The hunters were distracted with the terror, however, Harrison glanced towards them occasionally. The dangerous nature of the situation made him tense, especially since he held Josiah in his arms. Alas, he refused to grant TRS the opportunity to ambush the medic.
Josiah felt Harrison's grip on him tightening as he chased after Lambert. Am I positive this is better than waiting back at the car? He thought to himself, trying to enjoy this closeness with Harrison but it was very difficult while Harrison was running and his attention wasn't even on him but Lambert. He watched as Lambert was first chased by a Terror who later met with TRS to which helped him escape because he wasn't really AP and that Terror had taken notice of that but TRS was a main target and so it looked like Krueger had sent the Terror in their direction. He took in a breath as he remained quiet, watching the scene unfold.
Lambert had started walking away but not fast enough, footsteps could be heard coming from behind him as he glanced over he noticed it was Harrison. "From you?" He asked in a whisper before adding, "Hell no, not by a long shot." He knew exactly why he had to keep his voice down, the last thing he wanted to do was have TRS notice Harrison. He was upset he had ran away from home, leaving him behind but he didn't have the heart to help TRS capture the real Krueger. Harrison would occasionally glance over towards the TRS, just making sure that they weren't looking in their direction, he timed it and as soon as Harrison had glanced away again to check on the TRS, he bolted for it.
Endless worries filtered through Harrison's head about his twin brother's safety. Masquerading as the infamous Krueger was a dangerous, reckless and foolish action for anybody wishing for a decent life. The Terror Response Syndicate considered Harrison a formidable opponent, therefore, they would plan their capture meticulously to avoid injury. Naturally, they possessed planned procedures to assure his escape would be impossible. So far they failed to capture Harrison, the Assembly soldier refusing to complain about the notion.
Glances were taken between Lambert and the TRS, a slight concern evident in Harrison's blue eyes. His arms embraced Josiah tightly, refusing to release his beautiful crush. The response provided by Lambert prompted Harrison's eyes to lock onto Lambert. His eyes narrowed as he glared in disapproval at his twin's reaction. The genuinely blue-haired man glanced away momentarily as he prepared to respond, however, footsteps ceased his check on the TRS. An annoyed groan escaped the soldier's lips.
A shout was bit back as Harrison sprinted after Lambert. He needed to capture his brother before the TRS managed to and he suffered those consequences.
Josiah felt comfort in Harrison holding onto him tightly and he couldn't help but feel comfortable. Of course he did feel somewhat awkward at the idea of possibly having Harrison's twin being the one flirting with him prior, if that had been the case he would surely have to politely decline because he liked Harrison and nobody else. But then again, Lambert had invited him back to a nasty hotel, so there was the slightest chance he wanted more then just a date and that was just something he wasn't interested in. His cheeks became pick at the thought of Harrison trying to with him however. He noticed Harrison had sprinted after Lambert and chose to continue remaining quiet, wondering if all day was going to be like this.
Lambert had made his comment to Harrison, pleased when he had caught him off guard by sprinting off a head of him. The sooner he got away from Harrison, the sooner he would be able to resume his flings. As it stood right now, he was having trouble ditching his brother and it didn't help that he knew exactly where he was residing right at the moment. Since money was tight, he would just have to live with the fact Harrison would know and be able to come and go and please as he liked. After all of this running around he opted to head back towards the hotel that he had chosen to live in since coming here. To his greatest pleasure a surprise was waiting at his door, one of his many flings. He quickly slid out his card and opened the door for them before closing it, making sure to put the sign on the door about not disturbing, not that Harrison would listen, but if he chose not to, he'd about to see what he wish he hadn't as Lambert quickly proceeded a start of a fling.
