Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
The tall redheaded man with the half mask wandered the streets. The only sign he wasnt a mindless Zombie was that his periodic groans were on occasion distinguishable as curses. Most often a certain word that rhymes with the word Truck, but contains one less letter...
Roland Blacktower. Elite Hunter, and career alcoholic, had been drinking. Again. His memories of the night before consisted of flashes of light, faces, and various body parts...some of them not attached to the body they belonged to. So a fight at some point. The taste of vomit in his mouth told him he had probably thrown up a few times before sobering up enough to really think.
He turned his head as he caught a smell that reminded him of his empty stomach. Fried Dough. It was exceedingly popular back where he grew up, but here in the colder-than-a-witch's-underwire tundra that was Canada...not so much. He beelined for the vendor, standing in line, waiting...and watching the small form of what he took to be a child moving within the crowd.
Despite his crass mannerism, he did like children.
[attr="class","bhstext"]Food was nice. Food was always welcome. She'd never dispute the opportunity to have food, especially not when a bit of extra change was jingling around in her pocket. She'd seen this friend dough-type stuff around Japan before, and if she remembered correctly (which always seemed to be a gamble) she'd liked it quite a fair amount. [break]A black turtleneck shirt, seemingly of wool or cotton, adorned her body today. Along with it were a pair of track pants. It was cold, in all fairness; it was always cold here. That, or it was god damn warm as hell—and she was experienced with that. [break][break]She nearly cut in front of the tall man with the read hair, only reconsidering because of his size. Oh sure, sure, she might have been stronger than him but one thing was for certain and it was that no matter how strong she was, she could still be thrown like a football. [break]Hachimitsu quietly slipped in behind him. [break]She rarely considered deception with her child-like body unless someone mistook her for one first. She wasn't about to go around pretending to be a dumbass kid after all. So, despite her manipulative, sadistic, psychopathic nature, it wasn't even but once that the oni considered working her "charm" on the man before her. He didn't look like a "kids" guy either, not to her. Big, menacing; if she were actually a child, and not one of the most naturally physically strong things on this damn planet, she probably would have been scared. [break][break]She'd been staring up at him for a good dozen seconds; how rude. She hadn't considered her gaze 'till now. It quickly was shoved away from his body and instead she leaned around him to stare down the line... And just this once, she pulled her elbows close to her stomach and folder her arms up, pushing them against her chest; a lost, hesitant child. How adorable was that? Or at the very least, a lost, hesitant small-woman. Either one would work. [break]She didn't really care.
The stare of the small child did not go unnoticed. Neither did the clearly manipulative change in posture from relaxed confidence, to 'lost child'.
However Roland respected the effort. If you had an asset, be it strength, charm, or good looks, it only made sense to utilize it. He pretended to ignore the kid, who had a faint scent like one of the demon type hell races, but that didnt really mean much, not to the lycanthrope.
When he reached the vendor he gave a wink as he paid for two rounds of the fried dough, and only took one. Kids were usually afraid of him, unless they knew him.
The stark contrast between the alcoholic Elite Hunter who slaughtered Terrors and AP members alike with little to no remorse, and the laughing 'uncle' who cared for the little kids at the TRS daycare as if they were his own, made some of the other hunters question his mental stability.
