Days had passed since Zeke was reunited with his children at the Lorsette airport for some unfavourable circumstances involving the sudden death of Sophia Lockwood, the biological mother of the children. When they were brought together once again, the fatherly dragon gave his children tight hugs and comforting words; it was his occupation as a parent. The dragon wished the reason behind his children being returned to him consisted of happier matters, however, misery appeared ready to cause mischief over the past months.
[break][break]
Fortunately, Zeke's parents were prepared to surrender more of their spare rooms in favour of offering refuge for the children alongside their adult father. His parents were always on the wealthier side because of his father's long-time occupation as a TRS Elite Hunter. The warm, early May afternoon was pleasant, Zeke's parents taking Emily and Lucas out for a tour of the area. Locations had changed since the 27 years Zeke last lived in Lorsette. Even with those changes, the bustling and dangerous Newfoundland city was the dragon's home. Fortunately, with his arrival home came a familiar face who Zeke was excited for his children to eventually meet.
[break][break]
Thus, once his parents left, the dragon took the opportunity to invite his Kiernan over. The former General was hoping the kitsune would stay long enough to be introduced to the shining lights of joy in Zeke's life, his precious children. Taking things slowly with Kiernan was important to the dragon. For years, they were separated only to become reunited over the months spent recovering from the traumatic incident in British Columbia. Over those days, something sparked, those romantic feelings held for centuries reawakening fully immediately after he began interacting with Kiernan.
[break][break]
The former general fell hard for Kiernan, it was the reason he wished for Emily and Lucas to eventually meet him, but patience was important. Half an hour after his parents left with his kids, the dragon fetched his phone while he returned to his bedroom. The phone was turned on and quickly unlocked, Zeke, tapping the text messenger app on his phone. The dragon's grip was adjusted as he began tapping the keys to text Kiernan.
[break][break]
Hey, want to come over for a bit? My parents took the kids out for a little bit. I'm going to do some chores, but I would like the company. If you're fine with that. 🙂
[break][break]
A smile traced Zeke's face as he placed the phone on his bedside table before changing from his "pyjamas" and into some fresh clothing. Hesitantly, the dragon's fingers grabbed the fringes of his shirt, a deep breath being sucked into his lungs before being blown out slowly. Just breath, stay calm, everything is okay. Beneath the loose-fitting, white t-shirt was a horrendous mess of scars. The former general closed his eyes tightly before pulling off the shirt and grabbing the white button-up short-sleeve.
[break][break]
Eyes remained closed as the dragon's fingers fumbled the buttons, nervous about viewing those scars. His breathing picked up until progress was gradually made, Zeke finally calming when he buttoned the third down from his neck. A slow, shaky breath escaped the dragon's lips as his brown eyes opened, staring down at the shirt. Breath... you're okay, there is nobody here to hurt you. Once finished, Zeke checked for a reply, smiled and left the room to begin doing chores on his parent's behalf. Currently, the dragon was a jobless man, therefore, he frequently accomplished household duties for his parents.
[break][break]
Quickly, Zeke accomplished the few chores he placed on his list. Washing dishes, vacuuming and starting some fresh loads laundry before grabbing some swiffer dusters to clean the living room. The soft cloth was unfolded, the side designed for the duster secured onto the device. With everything ready, he reached up and dusted the fan before hearing an expected knock on the front door. Gleefully, the dragon hurried to answer, where he discovered his long-haired friend who he adored greatly.
[break][break]
"Hey, Kier. How are you?" Zeke began before allowing Kiernan inside. "I'm dusting the living room, care to join me?"
[break][break]
When an agreement was provided, Zeke closed the door behind the kitsune with a broad smile. The dragon led the dark-haired beauty into the living room with an elated skip to his step. The dragon was prepared to begin a conversation when the familiar sounds of a vehicle's quiet rumble brought his attention to the window. Quietly, Zeke watched as his family exited the car, confirming that they returned home earlier than expected.
[break][break]
"Oh... they're home early," Zeke murmured quietly before smiling at Kiernan. "Hey... maybe you would like to meet my kids?"
[break][break]
Another agreement was provided, thus, the dragon promptly put the duster down before exiting the living room to greet everybody in the foyer. Exhilaration roamed through his veins, the time finally arriving for Kiernan to meet his bundles of absolute joy, Emily and Lucas.

I am sorry if this is messy, I wanted to make it practical without it becoming downright convoluted. x.x This takes place a few days after Zeke met them at the airport.
