appearance Valentine has mid-bank length, slightly curly black hair. Her eyes are often a vivid amber colour, touched by the craving of blood. When hungry or using her blood magic, her eyes will glow a scarlet red. Valentine stands at 6'0" and loves the advantage of looking down at people. Her skin is quite fair and smooth, her face forever 24 years old. Valentine enjoys wearing suggestive clothing. Her wardrobe harbours expensive looking dresses that are red or black. The vampire also enjoys wearing leather outfits, velvet, or lace. She has no shame for her clothing of choice and will voice her distaste for anyone who disapproves. As for shoes, she either wears fancy heels or stylish boots. To accent her everyday look, Valentine wears dark shadows and red lips. She thinks it makes her look more authoritative and sexy. personality
abilities Blood Manipulation: Valentine is quite skilled with her abilities. Her specialty is manipulating blood clotting. This is how she has become a successive doctor (previously surgeon in various parts of the world) and, in some instances, a deadly assassin. Just as her abilities can heal, they can cause hemorrhaging and heart attacks. Val has also talents in hardoning blood to form them as weapons or armour. She has a past of violence and has used this skill to her advantage. Valentine is able to control people via their blood. She can remove blood from one's body, move their body, and even change the temperature of someone's blood. She is able to use these abilities to control other people if she desired. Limitations would include her need to have access to blood. She is able to use her own source but cannot regenerate blood quickly like some vampires may be able to. Instead, she steals away blood sacks or has vampire worshippers for her disposal if required. The more she is exposed to sunlight, other than the risk of dying or falling ill, Val's blood manipulation abilities decrease in effectiveness. Regenerative Healing: Works like it does with every other vampire. However, she seems to have a particular weakness to fire. Her healing of burns requires her to use blood magic or abilities to heal. Her healing can be sped up if she uses a sacrifice to heal. Being a member of her vampirisc religion for as long as she had allowed her to research rituals that have benefitted her greatly. With a volunteer (or victim) to aid her, she is able to use their blood to heal her wounds. Super Speed: Is seeming not as fast as other vampires. Oftentimes people would expect the opposite of what is true. Many assume Val would be very fast and not as strong. Instead, what Valentine lacks in speed, she makes up in strength. Enhanced Strength: Valentine is surprising strong. She uses it often to threaten or perhaps to impress. Her strength has made her a sufficient warrior with blood-made weapons. Night Vision: Her eyesight is quite keen. One of her favourite hobbies is walking in the dark, observing whatever it is she desires without being seen. Wall Crawling: Is not as talented at this as some vampires. She finds this act to be quite ridicdulous and beast-like. If she is in a fit of rage, that is a completely different story. Although, perhaps even albeit her anger, she is a clumsy individual when crawling. backstory The history of Valentine's family dates back centuries ago. Her family saw the dawn of the War of Traitors. It was then that the von Marias first encountered vampires. The Romanian family worshipped the creature and allowing themselves as a source of food. The head of the family, Victor von Maria, became involved with the vampire and had a child with it. The resulting child was deemed royality in light of their new vampiric religion. She was raised as a regular human destined to become the inheritant of vampirism in the family. Valentine was the child born of Victor and the Sacred Queen. As she grew up, she was promised a fortune. The von Marias were wealthy, often found as doctors, lawyers, politicians, or merchants. FInally, when she hit the age of 24, she was turned into a vampire. Since then, she has ruled the family. Instead of becoming a politican as her father had hoped, she turned her interest in the wonders of healing and unlocking her powers. Her dedication to the art has led her to become an effective healer with her blood manipulation ability. Tensions between herself and her father grew immensely as the years passed on. She was stubborn and whimsical, doing as she pleased and bringing shame upon her father. He was never accepting of her behaviour and often threatened his daughter with various punishments. He wanted Valentine to follow his script. He wanted her to marry and have children but that was not what was on her mind. It was not as if Valentine didn't grow up fantasizing about marrying a man, but of falling in love with a woman and being independent of any child. Their small, ancient cult grew and spread from country to country. New vampires were chosen to rule these separate families. This released pressure on Valentine to run family matters, allowering her to trave and run away from her fatherl. This is what drew her to Lorsette, Newfoundland, Canada. The little place was quite queer and offered new opportunities. Valentine was hired as a family doctor and takes her job seriously. As far as her coworkers know, Val is a regular human like the rest of them. To a few other employees... they have relations in which they offer blood for a night of Val's attention. Valentine's history of being hunted for her vampirism, use of blood magic, or being blamed for being a "witch" is extensive. To some who get close to her she may reveal these tales. She also has had many lovers throughout her life, but she still awaits the day she is blessed with a soulmate. Her favourite books are the ones about soulmates. It makes her swoon. misc Valentine has a nasty burn scar across her left eye and the bridge of her nose. She hides it using her blood manipulation abilities and finishing it off with makeup. Anyone who comments on her scar risks getting a nasty surprise in response. Her left thigh is full of tattoos of red roses. The main rose is on her forethigh and is vibrant in colour, popping in a cartooinsh way. She also has a gothic style cross on her right forearm.
