Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Nervousness was intense as Yves grasped the pencil, eyes slowly fixating on the magnificently etched numbers in the paper. Properly written work sprawled across the paper, displaying his comprehension of the material. Unfortunately, concentration was difficult after worrying about Phoenix and believing he saw body parts which should be considered private between friends. Despite praying to begin a relationship with Phoenix one day, the wraith was unprepared to view anything of the sort; he at least desired to possibly date his crush for approximately a year before even considering such a notion. Anxiously, the wraith’s fingers adjusted on the pencil, fiddling with the writing utensil as he chewed his nervous lip. With little resistance, the symptoms of shyness manifested, Yves, struggling to focus on homework despite the threats of potentially missing his date opportunity. Finally, he had worked the nerve to ask Phoenix if he would wish to go somewhere with him but was struggling to complete the objectives which would allow for that.

When his crush mentioned work, the white-haired amnesiac nodded, although, failed to comprehend why work would result in Phoenix screaming into the phone’s microphone. However, he refused to question it and instead sucked a deep breath into his lung. The exhale was slow and gentle, the breath evidently designed for calming. Nerves gradually soothed after a few moments, Yves returning to the rhythm of completing the questions. There was a nod provided at Phoenix’s offer of help, but for a few moments, the white-haired man was steadily getting through the trigonometry homework. As questions were completed, they became harder, reaching a point where Yves stared nervously at a difficult question which required him to draw the triangle based on the description above and discover the length between point A and B.

“Um… Phoenix… this one is weird,” he murmured, voice becoming higher in pitch.

The wraith’s eyes briefly flitted between his crush and the complicated question. The difficulty of the question was twisting Yves’ thoughts as he attempted to understand how to draw the triangle, set up the angles and determined the information desired. Difficult questions always arrived near the end of assignments and confused the white-haired student a majority of the time.

Phoenix watched as Yves trekked through his homework, quite pleased that he'd likely be done before they knew it. Meaning that tomorrow would happen. Though he wasn't completely sure why he was soooooo excited about it, they were friends after all. Surely it wouldn't be that great of a deal? And yet, he couldn't bring himself to feel any less about tomorrow unless of course, he failed to see his Yves. He had reminded Yves to let him know if he could be of some assistance and the time arrived when he would be called, it was strange, feeling so needed but he liked it. He looked over the question, then the instructions on how one would complete the triangle to get the answer. It seemed simple enough and he gave it a try, but because he hadn't been in school for a long while, he failed to get the correct answer, which resulted in him turning to the back of the book, finding the answer and once more completely the triangle, taking great caution to make sure that Yves hadn't caught sight of the answer.
He would then explain how he would create the triangle so that he could gain his answer. Man, I don't miss being in school. He thought to himself, jealous that back when he attended they didn't have answers in the back of the books. Hell, they didn't even have such materials. Boy did Yves have it good here. He went quiet as he watched Yves trek on with his homework, once more, waiting to be further assistance. His plan was to remain here until the homework was done and then head home so that he could handle his work in private to ensure he had the day off to spend with Yves tomorrow.
Nervousness grasped Yves as he struggled with the peculiar trigonometry question. Schooling was crucial for a successful future full of prosperity, at least, based on the information he received from his educational assistant and his family members. When the time arrived for the young wraith to move out, he wished to be prepared for the future, although, he hoped to avoid facing it alone. Thoughts of the future resulted in the white-haired man briefly glancing at Phoenix, a slight red painted across his cheeks while he watched the handsome hellhound assist on the difficult question. There were instances where the wraith was known to fantasize about a future spent in endless matrimony with Phoenix. Despite his temper, Yves found the mysterious man to be someone he easily connected with. Whenever his temperament was absent, the magician was enjoyable to spend time with, resulting in a plethora of delightful conversations between the pair. Unfortunately, Yves was uncertain about Phoenix's thoughts on marriage, dating or him in general. They were obviously mutually considered friends, but the white-haired man always wondered how deep their connection was.

Unfortunately, only a telepathic link could possible make him privy to the brunette's personal thoughts and feelings; all he could do was pray. Once Phoenix was able to teach him how to get the correct answer and generally accomplish the question, Yves nodded and began working again. Eventually, he settled back into a steady pace of completing math questions, which brought a small smile to the wraith's face. There were only a few more questions remaining, the amnesiac smiling broadly when he finished the last of the assigned questions.

"I... I did it!" He said in a quiet exclaim.

Pride surged through Yves' chest as he stared gleefully at the completed inquiries numbered on his paper. The young man was overzealous about getting the entirety of his work done. After a few moments, he began gathering the pencils into a neat pile to later return to his pencil case. The tracks of the binder were popped open with a loud click, the paper was placed into its designated location. Glee remained evident on the wraith's face as he finished packing up his items since he was satisfied with the completed work.

Phoenix watched as Yves completed the equation before moving on the other questions. He was available for any possible questions that Yves might have for him. He couldn't help but breath in relief when Yves had told him that he had finished, finding his exclamation adorable. He watched as Yves started putting his supplies in the appropriate spots, remaining quiet all the while. He would wait until Yves had finished before slowly standing from the table. "I should head out, there are a few things I need to accomplish before tomorrow." He answered, still needing to inform his fellow assassins not to bother him. Of course he also had to help, to his displeasure, that assassin that had gotten himself into that mess earlier.
Of course helping him would come with a price since he expected his assassins to handle situations without dragging him into it. It was bad enough that he had to handle the newbies but this one knew better and still managed to get himself into a sticky situation. Slowly he would walk down the hall, stopping on when he got to the front door. "I will be here at 8:30AM." He was telling him now so that Yves would know what to expect from him. He would then slowly open the front door before slipping outside. "Have a good night, Yves." He would answer, glancing back at him before walking into the night.
Successfully completing his homework was an incredible event for Yves, thus he grinned broadly as he sorted his items into their expected locations; organization needed maintenance considering his horrendous memory. There was a broad grin which stretched across Yves' as he grabbed the binder, zipping it closed. Afterwards, he picked up the large textbook, shoving it into the front folder before securing it close with the use of the velcro. Once everything was packed up, Yves placed the binder on his arm, balancing it on his arm. The pencils were snatched off the table in a handful, the wraith glancing at Phoenix and providing an appreciative smile. The white-haired amnesiac was extremely grateful for the assistance his close friend gave. Words were absent as Yves paused, attempting to create a sentence which could best display how appreciative he was for Phoenix taking the time to assist him with his homework. When Phoenix stated he needed to leave since there were objectives to complete before their time together at the carnival. There was a small frown that touched Yves' face, a slight sadness transcending over him at the thought of Phoenix leaving.

"Oh... okay... Um," Yves answered nervously.

Despite having several items to carry, Yves followed Phoenix to the door, smiling at the time provided. The wraith gave a nod in response, his grin returning as he fantasized about their date.

"Have a good night, Phoenix... and... um... thank you so much!" Yves exclaimed behind him.

Once his friend left, the white-haired man closed the front door, a sigh of happiness escaping his mouth. Afterwards, he returned to his room and packed up his items. When the organization was assured, the wraith did some recreational activities before preparing supper for his brother. Excitement remained evident as Yves prepared himself mentally for tomorrow's activity.
