appearance Most of the time Veronica prefers to take shape of her GUARDIAN FORM. As a northern sled wolf, she sports a large, strong build and thick layers of powdery white fur. What sets her apart from the pack, however, are her large purple eyes and the purple sigils drawn on her forehead and chest. Whenever she's using her skills, these sigils glow along with her body, emoting an otherworldly glow. It wouldn't be so hard to identify her once she shifts into her human form either. Although her eyes would resemble that of a human's, they will remain the same shade of purple. The sigils that are once drawn on her fur will then be tattooed on her body (forehead and chest). The layers of furs will shed, revealing a soft moonlit-shaded skin. Blonde hair the flows past her waist crowns her comely face with bangs cut asymmetrically. In this form, LARGE WINGS sprout from her back sporting a pure white color. Since Veronica spends most of the time in her Guardian form, clothes are not essential part of her every day life and doesn't care much about it even if she shifts into her human form. However, dresses that will not restrict movements are more favored than anything else. personality
abilities CONTRACT BINDING (Natural) Her duty as a Guardian is to protect someone... something. No matter how grand or simple it is, once a guardian is summoned a contract is made which binds them to their master for eternity. ENHANCED SPEED/AGILITY (Intermediate). Veronica can run faster than ordinary human beings or any earthbound animals. She has yet to reach its full strength but rest assured she'd be moving better than most creatures. ENHANCED STRENGTH (Intermediate). Veronica physical prowess should not be taken lightly. Her bites are strong and can easily tear through skin, while her punches can send someone flying to the opposite side of the room. Don't underestimate just because of her tamed appearance. ADVANCED VITALITY (Intermediate). Stamina, defense and everything else related to the staying alive is amplified. Veronica must unyielding as a Guardian, and she puts her heart and soul into protecting. She can take more physical blows than an unbounded Guardian, though still isn't anywhere near an Arch-Guardian. Naturally, she's weak against dark magic. DIVINE HEALING (Mastered). Using divine energy, she can heal any injuries. As long as her target still has traces of life, she'll be able to nurture them back to health. However, she cannot bring the dead back to life. Realistic expectations are important when working with healing abilities. DEFLECT (Advanced). Utilizing her divine energy, Veronica can summon a field of one meter than can deflect attacks very well. She can go beyond a meter, but it would lessen the protective elements of the buff. Also, this ability is fragile against dark magic and will easily shatter upon two or three blows. Those blows will not be deflected, instead they will be absorbed thereby weakening the field. backstory It's been a while since she was dispatched from Heaven. Veronica was young back then; a guardian fresh out of combat training, excited and eager for duty. So, when she heard out cries for help, she immediately answered though was met with disappointment upon realizing what was calling her- a mere human child with a rather silly request of guarding a sprout of tree. Of course, she declined, spewing out venomous words at the child; telling him not to waste her time, but he never stopped calling for her. Utterly defeated by his incessant pleas, she finally created a contract between herself and the tiny tree sprout. However, she never did her job right. She often wandered around, unable to see the importance of what she was called to protect. She remained distant and uncaring of the person who summoned her, often acting on her own accord. She believed that it was a waste of power, effort and time; why would someone so divine like her be guarding a plant when she could be doing something more important? Proud and stubborn, she neglected her duties. However, everything changed when she returned to the tree sprout once day only to be greeted with a horrifying scene. The child who called for her laid on the ground, blood and dirt smeared all over his pale skin. Battered, bruised and barely breathing as he used his tiny body to shield the tree sprout from being uprooted by two grown men. Veronica managed to chase away the intruders, but the child was hardly alive. She hurried to his side, demanding an explanation. Why... Why did you have to protect it? With his dying breath, the little boy told the story behind the sprout. Not long ago, a couple who was wrongly accused of treason was murdered and buried deep within the wilderness. The angry villagers repeatedly destroyed anything used to mark their graves, but each time they did, another appeared. It turned out that their son was alive and was responsible for marking the grave. In order to keep his parents resting place known, he planted a tree- something that would forever grow and never leave. He then summoned a guardian to protect and nurture and the plant so that, at least, his parents would be respected even only in their deaths. Filled with guilt and regret, Veronica tried to revive the child but at the moment her abilities were insufficient and the boy died shortly. The contract was not cut, however, as the tree sprout remained rooted and healthy. As the Guardian dug a grave for the boy and as she mourned for his death, she renewed the contract with sincerity and an undying loyalty. From then on, she was known for fiercely protecting the tree located in a small clearing deep within the wilderness. Currently, the old tree stands strong and sturdy in its place with lush green leaves on its branches and twigs. During spring and summer, flowers blossom in lovely colors and fruits become bountiful. Beautiful as it is to the eyes of many, it cannot be touched for a ferocious creature guards it relentlessly. misc ☆ Veronica is extremely fond of peaches, and can be usually seen eating one during summer. She can be quite selfish when it comes to them. In relation to this, the tree that she's guarding is a peach tree. ☆ She becomes extra protective of the tree during autumn and winter. She has this belief that trees are weak during these seasons. ☆ She's fond of children, and is more willing to lower her guard around her.
