Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
Despite being an outfit William hated it was a necessity. He had to look as casual as possible. No, not for any sort of assignment. Tonight was all about him. Every few months his opportunity arose. The batch of new hires had moved into his wing. And along with them, new guards. Some had been briefed on the specifics of operations. And others slept through their lessons. And it was this exact thing that William loved to exploit. He had already staked out a few potential dopes, and prepared to make his move.
The sun had just began to set, the soft red hues of dusk shining through the windows. A single guard sitting at a desk adjacent to an elevator separating William from the city. Cautiously theyoung man approached the desk, tapping his fingers on the wood several times. "Hey, I left my badge in my other jacket. Mind buzzing me out?" The man gave a yawn, slowly raising his hand and muttering "Yeah sure." "I guess i can just sleep he-" William cut himself off, not quite expecting it to be quite so easy. "What was that?" "Nothing! Have a nice night." He said quickly ducking into the elevator. A smile crossed his face as he looked down at his phone, bringing up several photos of different landmarks. It didn't take much longer for him to sneak his way out of the mostly empty main floor of the TRS headquarters. Out onto the pavement just begining to become illuminated by the large streetlights.
Ten minutes. Ten minutes was all it took for the young man to make his way out and on to a city bus. Where he was going, he wasn't quite sure. And he had every intention to return. Just not quite until after he had some fun. And looking on his phone he found just the place. Crow feather park. It wasn't too far of a bus ride from the headquarters, just a quick stop to see the lights and he would be back before that guard got in any real trouble. Ten more minutes and he arrived on the western end of town. However he had taken the wrong bus, placing him a few blocks further than he would have liked. But no worries, the lights softly glowing down the street from the young man. He pulled out his phone, just to check his location once more. When suddenly something crashed into his thigh, suprising him. And knocking the device from his hand.
As the young man began to look around there was a soft scurry. A pipsqueak had snatched up his phone, snickering at the teen and running around a corner. "Hey, come back with that!" He shouted as he gave chase to the small creature. It continued to laugh at the teen, turning yet again. Always staying just out of his reach. Although it never seemed panicked, not quite running from him at all. No it was leading him somewhere. But William was too preoccupied to notice. As the two turned another corner william found himself in a dead end alley. Cornering the pipsqueak William let out a small chuckle. "Allright now I got yo- He was cut off by a sudden thump he felt against his back. Knocking the air out of him, and sending him to the ground. As he looked up to see his assailant the air began to fill with malicious laughter from the troublemaker looking down at him. The pipsqueak in chorus gleefully. And William did the only thing he could think of, panic. "HELP!
The golden tint of the sky befell a dimming hue of red and purple, signifying a sunset that would sun transpire into nightfall. Today, he and his two friends had worked on unboxing more of their items since the move and getting the apartment more decorated. The hours passed with bustle, spontaneous breaks due to getting exhausted from all the heavy lifting and work, and by the time they'd finished a good amount of going through boxes the sun was already beginning to set. [break][break]
With the cool evening air beginning to arise, Nolan could feel it inhaling into his lungs as he ventured out into the public streets of Lorsette, away from the exterior of the apartment complex he recently moved into. His hooded black sweatshirt held within one of its pocket his phone, with ear buds plugged in and playing the soft hum of rock music whilst the young man went for an early evening stroll. He wasn't an early riser and did most of his exercising in the evening or at night, especially lately with trying to get situated in his new home here in the city. If it wasn't chores and work to do back at the complex, it was seeking jobs around the block, and only since a couple days ago did Nolan finally have the opportunity to start actually exploring what Lorsette had to offer.[break][break]
He figured out an easy route from where he lived, down to the park for a good run. Being able to get fresh air, no matter how late it was, was something that Nolan always sought after as he hated being cooped indoors all the time. With the hood pulled over his head, Nolan lightly jogged along the sidewalks with his mind racing with thoughts of all the chaos that'd shrouded his life.... and hastily wanting to have all the mundane activity surrounding moving into a new place pass by, so that he could get into the real business as to why he came here to begin with.[break][break]
After having made his rounds throughout the park, Nolan had completed the bulk of the routine running route he'd started creating for himself and was now walking casually up along a fairly desolate street within the city limits. The playlist on his phone was reaching its final few songs, still humming distantly as he continued walking with the intentions of heading back to the apartment.... but suddenly, just when he'd embarked on a different street, the sound of someone hollering out in distress broke through the music he was listening to. Nolan came to a stop, his face lifting up in momentary confusion from whether if he heard something or if it was just his mind playing tricks on him.... with a yank of the cord, his ear buds came out, and he attentively waited for any other sound. It was then when a panicked "HELP!" evidently sounded from around the corner, when Nolan knew for sure someone was in trouble nearby... in a quiet, if not suspicious side of town.[break][break]
He quickly bolted into the alley where he'd heard the commotion, finding a young man on the ground with a frightful creature towering above him. The sight was shocking, to say the least, and Nolan's eyes grew large when seeing someone was in danger with a rather sinister looking terror. Quickly, Nolan summoned a blare of light between both his hands that rapidly buzzed around in a swirling notion. It took the shape of a transparent, but very bright spear that the boy sent launching right at the terror. "DUCK DOWN!" He shouted in warning to the boy he was attempting to save.

His show was on, his bed warm. The sweets he hid in his cabinet were waiting for him. Oh the thousands of things William would rather be doing at the moment. Sitting under the waiting grip of a terror was not one of them. Hell, he would hand out requisition forms for weeks just to be saved.
Every few moments headlights from the street would illuminate the narrow passage. As if to exemplify the point that no one was stopping to save the young man. He gritted his teeth, not quite expecting this to be how he would go. Alone in a dark alley, with no one even knowing he was missing. Sensing his fear ththe pipsqueak seemed to become even more excited, jumping back and forth as it laughed at William laying there. "Shut it you!" He managed to stutter as best he could. The feeling of the much larger terror pressing down on him making it rather difficult.
William winced in pain as the pressure began to increase, causing his back to begin to pop and crack slightly. Only exciting the two creatures more. When suddenly someone called out. Followed by a flash, and a scream. The terror on top of William seemed to stumble away slightly, giving him a brief moment to run. At the sight the small creature froze, suddenly startled by the newcomer. Before ducking through a narrow gap in the alley, absconding with his phone. "No! I need that!" He said wide eyed. Although there were more pressing matters at hand, namely the other terror still in the alley.
William quickly rose to his feet. The adrenaline in his body propelling him toward his apparent savior. His heart pounding in his ears he quickly grabbed the boys sleeve, trying to pull him away. "Hurry, we need to run."
Once the light spear met with his target, its energy launched at the terror with a powerful slam. The spear turned into sparks of swirling light before dispersing upon a successful hit, bringing a confident gleam to Nolan's features. His aim was flawless and the fair-haired victim also wasn't caught up in the spear's searing magic. Score! [break][break] However, he soon could see that two terror were attacking the fallen man.... one of them decidedly fleeing the scene upon Nolan's attack. He quickly turned his head to watch as it zipped off as though the monster was running away from him... which admittedly added on to the sensation of feeling victorious with his attempts of helping an innocent and outnumbered civilian.[break][break] He begun harnessing another surge of light energy between his palms, glaring at the remaining terror. "now time to finish you off..." He murmured to himself, but to his shock, the sir in distress had practically thrown himself onto his feet and was running towards him. "W-woah, hey, stay out of the way I don't want to hit you with this--!" He started to warn but the young man had other plans. He grabbed one of Nolan's sleeves, tugging on him to start running in the direction he was going. [break][break] A zzz sounded off from the motion wobbling the growing spinning wheel of light within his grasp, though it didn't disappear as he stumbled forward in the direction the boy was tugging him. "Wait a sec--" He quickly told him, turning around whilst running and sending the flurry of light blazing at the remaining terror, successfully knocking it down and rolling across the ground. The sight brought a grin to Nolan's face, briefly punching the air in triumph before turning forwards once more and this time cooperating in running right with the guy on his own. "Okay, now we can go! How'd you get two terrors on your tail?"

With his heart racing so fast it had almost seemed as if the world had slowed down. His senses in apparent overdrive as he tried to flee from the creature. It wasn't long after William made it to his feet that he managed to catch a glimpse of whomever had came to his rescue. His features obscured by both by the hoodie, as well as the dimly lit corridor. However from the sound of his voice William felt safe to assume that he was another young man. Just slightly taller than himself by the looks of it.
His questions about his savior were answered just shortly after. As a brilliant light revealed his short brown hair, and a brief glimpse of his face. However William's attention was turned more toward the glowing light that he was holding. 'Magic?' He thought to himself. Not taking time to consider much more than escape. He grabbed the guys sleeve, only briefly hearing him exclaim something.
But William was in complete fight or flight mode, namely flight. There was another flash over his shoulder, another scream. He thought about looking back, perhaps trying to find the smaller terror with his phone. But he wasn't taking any second chances with the creatures. After all what good was he in a fight. Sure his new companion may be able to handle one. But it would only be a matter of time before more came. It always was.
It started to become painfully obvious why he had been warned to stay near the headquarters. His own curiosity of the city getting the better of him. He had already managed to make it halfway down the city block by the time the other boy had caught up to him. William clearly being the less athletic of the two.
As the two reunited William heard the guy call out to him. "They follow me! We have to go, we need weapons.. shelter.. hunters." He said, clearly still panicked and not thinking straight. After all he was still in the city. Granted he had no idea where.
The blonde's response was one that struck Nolan with the observation that the other individual was befuddled by the terror's altercation. It made sense, the guy had been cornered by the creeps without anyone else around to help him. An eyebrow uplifted upon Nolan's face as his light brown eyes gazed upon him, having caught up and slowed in his running to maintain a pace that matched the other male so that they may be venturing onward beside each other. He wondered what the blonde sir in distress meant by terrors following him, but ultimately assumed he meant that tonight, he'd been unfortunate enough to have terrors spotting him in the streets and chasing him as opposed to this being a reoccurring issue. [break][break]
"Hunters probably aren't necessary. There's only two terrors, one down and the other trying to get away from us," He tried to explain, his tone calm but hinted with the spike of adrenaline from the attacks. Nolan didn't reciprocate the feelings of being in distress from possible danger, though he himself had survived living on the streets a number of years ago during the roughest chapter of his life... when he was disowned by not only his family, but his small hometown for his white wings turning black. He had experience with terrors but none that rendered him feeling helpless in their presence. [break][break]
Nolan begun slowing in his running, albeit not stopping, the spinning wheel of zapping light between his hands starting to slowly dim. "Unless if you saw a hoard of them somewhere nearby, I think we may be able to handle everything just fine," He spoke out to him with the intentions of easing his frantic anxious state. The hood upon his head remained, with the illumination of light highlighting the features of his face, an easygoing and friendly exterior of his expression showing towards the blonde.

William felt his heart pounding through his ears due to the heavy rise and fall of his chest. The rather impromptu exercise taking its toll on the young man. As the two caught up to each other William slowed his pace, feeling more comfortable now that he wasn't alone.
His panic started to subside at the boys words. The dusty haired teen making a rather good point. The larger terror had been relatively disabled. And the smaller one had definitely ran off. Only absconding with his phone. "Oh shit.." He muttered under his breath. Realizing that if even if he returned to the headquarters unseen, he couldn't really explain his phone missing.
Suddenly william stopped jogging. The adrenaline having run its course. With one hand he propped himself up against a nearby wall, taking a few moments to catch his breath. "Thank you..." He said quite genuinely, slowly turning to look back at the teen whom had come to his rescue. No longer in the poorly lit alley he could make out a few more of the guys features. From first impressions he could tell they were both rather close in age. William being just barely the shorter of the two. As well as confirming his suspicions from earlier as the glow disappeared from his hand. 'Definitely magic.' He thought as the light seemed to snap out of existence. Its nature intriguing the young man. After all the only magic he was really exposed to was either elemental of nature baised. But this guy had something else, something incandescent.
With his heart having finally calmed down William took a cautious look around. Surveying the area for any more creatures. "Hordes... dont come into the city... do they?" He said rather nervously, his emotions begining to flare up again.
"Listen..." He said hesitantly. "I... I need to get back downtown."
When the young man caught up with him, Nolan came to a complete halt himself, light brown eyes patiently and attentively befalling the fair-haired gentleman. The adrenaline rush spiked his own heart beat but for himself, he hadn't been the one targeted by his lonesome. He was the rescuer, the one whom merely heard a distraught shout and followed the direction it came from. The other male was put through more than himself just now, and Nolan felt bad for him. No matter what he may have been up to, being harassed in a cold and quiet side of town like this must have been frightening... and Nolan was more than willing to stand by him as protection while he caught his breath. [break][break]
The wheel of light faded upon the panic rush of the scene simmering, and Nolan returned his hands into the warmth of his hooded sweatshirt pockets while he took a few steps closer by where the other male stationed himself up against the wall to help keep watch for any enemies. He thanked him, bringing Nolan's gaze to once more meet with his. A smile touched his features from his gratitude that hadn't been expected but still was appreciated. "No need to thank me. I'm just glad you're okay now and that I was able to help you," He answered in a warm tone, one side of his smile uprising before he himself joined the other by resting up against the wall.[break][break]
One knee bent while the other remained straight from where he stood. It still seemed as though no one else was around.... he didn't want to think of what could have happened if he'd decided to detour through a different block. This poor guy would have been left completely on his own to fend for himself while being outnumbered.[break][break]
The question he asked was a good one but unfortunately Nolan couldn't answer. "I wish I could tell you that they didn't, but I honestly have no idea what terror activity is like around these parts," He admitted, his eyes continuing to watch for any activity within the alley, "I just moved here earlier this week," The nature of the fair-haired individual's question eluded to the idea that he may have been a newcomer here too, though before Nolan could ask him, he admitted a proposition that arose Nolan's eyebrows in a look of surprise. He turned to look at him, light brown eyes meeting with emerald hues. "You in need of an escort? Allow me to introduce myself--" He obliged with a light-heart aura surrounding his words, matched with an inviting smile. He leaned away from the wall, facing the other with an exaggerated gentlemanly bow as to lighten up the mood... and hopefully ease the other from their nerves. "Nolan Hawthorne, at your service for security and protection while on your evening stroll,"

Having stopped for a moment William began to compose himself. The chilly night air filling his lungs begining to feel refreshing for a change. He pulled his hand free from the wall and began to pat down his jacket, knocking loose some of the dirt and debree from his recent tumble. Although it was more out of habit than anything else. Had he not been sneaking out he never would have even considered putting such a thing on.
As he finised his attention snapped back upward. The teens reply to his gratitude taking him rather by surprise. His brow raised slightly as he wondered why the guy was being so nonchalant. He did just take down a terror, and saved his life. It was almost enough to make William want to hug the guy. However he did have enough common sense to know that he probably shouldn't. "You are much too humble." He said with a smile, finally begining to feel at ease once more.
Even when his savior spoke up again his mood wasn't quite shaken. His response not reassuring, but also not the worst answer to his question. It was at least enough to make William take another cautious look around as the teen did the same. When he claimed to be new to the city William's eyes lit up. Rather suprised to run into someone that he actually had something in common with. Not only that but it felt like it was the first person besides some TRS agent, or barista that he had gotten to talk to in weeks.
But what the teen did next took William completely by surprise. Not only did the teen know how to get downtown, he offered to take him. His bow drawing a light hearted chuckle out of the blond. "Well Nolan Hawthorn." He said gently placing one hand on his chest, and extending a short bow of his own. "You may call me William Farris. And it is a pleasure meeting you." As his posture returned to normal he let out a soft sigh, unsure of how to react to the teens hospitality. "First you save me, now you are guarding me. Please.. you must let me repay you somehow." He said, completely sincerely. Unsure of what he would have done without the teen there.
He gave Nolan a soft smile before turning his attention around the street, wondering what way actually lead him back downtown. Sure that his new friend would likely have some insight.
The soft chuckle sounding from his companion ignited a greater smile upon Nolan's face, feeling accomplished with arising such a reaction from him. He tilted his head to look up at the young man whom was no longer a stranger, for he offered his name in return. William Farris... an elegant name that matched the soft features and lean-sculpted build of the fair-haired individual. [break][break]
"It's a pleasure meeting you as well, unexpectedly, under this sunset sky," He answered him with a gallant playfulness. With that, he resumed his natural posture with a more so casual smile replacing his previous chivalrous one. Being able to place a name on his face was something Nolan appreciated. After all, being new to a large city meant he had ample anonymous faces within his recent recollection. Now, William would not be among them. [break][break]
A soft releasing sigh left William before he spoke with such sincerity that Nolan couldn't help but to notice it. The way he composed himself, his mannerisms, his politeness.... none of these qualities were common. At least, not where he was from. Before tragedy destroyed the previous life he had, he was seldom without friendly faces and groups of friends to hang out with, but none had quite carried themselves in such a manner as William. There was something classy about him... or was the proper word sophisticated? Nolan wasn't certain, but he definitely noticed there was something different about him. In a good way.[break][break]
The softness of William's smile was met with a kind gaze from Nolan, whom rose a hand towards the back of his neck. "Don't worry about it. I'm not expecting anything in return from you," He tried to assure with a light chuckle, before checking the streets from where they stood to make sure no unexpected traffic-- or terrors-- were nearby, "The company and knowing you're not still trapped back there is payment enough. Seriously," With a couple observational glances, he started walking up the street but not without turning to face William, stepping backwards with a slight gesturing wave of his hand, "Let's head this way. There's a crossroads somewhere up ahead that we can use to get you where you need to be," With a swift spin on his heels Nolan was once more facing forward while walking. He ensured he kept fairly close in distance with William just as he felt a protector should be. One foot brushed against a stray soda can, rolling it off towards the shadows beginning to loom from the setting sky. "Where is it exactly you need to be downtown?" He asked as an afterthought.

William couldn't help but feel a sort of kinship with the young man. The two of them having freshly been acquainted to the city. Being so similar in age. Their chance encounter. Not to mention the magic. Oh the magic. The fact the young man possessed some sort of aptitude toward it intrigued william greatly. And it was eating him up to ask about it. However he wasn't quite certain how to go about it. Unsure of such questions may be to personal.
At Nolans retort to his offer William's face almost instinctively turned to a sort pout. Befuddled by the teens modesty once more. After all who wouldn't want a reward. The more he talked to him the more odd he seemed. But not in bad sense. It was actually quite refreshing from his usual routine. "Honestly, there must be something." He said as he began to think of what he could really even do for the guy. William found himself having a slight moment of existential crisis. Realizing that he didn't really have anything of his own to offer the teen. And his rather complicated living situation didn't make things any easier.
His thoughts were luckily interrupted by Nolan. The teen gesturing that they should get moving. With a soft nod William quickly followed in step with his new bodyguard. The sudden clang of the can causing him to shorten the distance between the two ever so slightly. Well.." He began, taking a slight pause as he contemplated how he would go about explaining things. "Do you know where that TRS building is?" He let out another small chuckle nervously. Unsure of how the teen would react to his question. "I sort of.. live there." As the two continued walking something not normally apparent about William would begin to make itself known. An unseen and intangible sensation. Almost like the feeling of being stared at from behind, but much more pleasant. The air around the teen almost shimmering with soft flecks of gold. Always appearing in ones perifrial, always just out of focus.
From the corner of Nolan's eye, he could see the pouting expression unfolding upon William's face in due part of his refusal for accepting any true payment for rescuing him. The corners of his lips turned up in amusement, amused by seeing how expressive the other young man was.... and also how he was insistent that there must have been something he could do to thank him. Nolan didn't offer him an answer.[break][break]
At least, not yet. He allowed for the topic to subtly drop as they begun their venture onward and while he didn't mention as such, he would keep William's offer in mind. Only because he could see how important it was for the fair-haired boy as opposed to a mere obligatory offer.[break][break]
Nolan ensured he didn't walk too far ahead of William, subconsciously checking over his shoulder when noticing that the other had slowed in his walking from the sound of the stray can being caught in their path. He presumed that William was desiring to be led where his home neighborhood resided, or one of the shopping centers for an evening meal. He was not expecting for him to ask about the location of the TRS Building. That was enough for Nolan's eyes to widen in bafflement as he full-n turned his head to look over to William. [break][break]
"You live at the TRS Headquarters?" He asked in shock, mouth slightly dropping, before an idea clicked in his mind. He snapped his fingers in realization, grinning while stating, "Ah! You must be one of the specialists there! That's so cool! I always wanted to be an Agent for them," A soft, day-dreaming sigh left Nolan as his smile that had shown with a vivacious encouragement begun to hint at.... melancholy. That dream had died.... along with the person he used to be. Nolan didn't dwell on it, giving a slight shake of his head as his smile softened upon William whilst they embarked into the sunset-lit streets, away from the gloominess of the alley ways. "Well, by any means, that takes a lot of dedication. I fully respect you for dedicating your life to such a cause," He added in sincerity, admiring how this guy not only accomplished something that was rather difficult for being among the TRS.... but also had given his life to helping others. [break][break]
As the sunset cast upon them, a subtle yet enchanting glimmer occasionally shimmered around William. Nolan didn't pay much mind to it at first as the mere lighting of the streets could have cast such an illusion.... but he did notice it all the more after seeing how the shimmer of gold continued fading in, and out around him. Nolan couldn't help but to stare at the surrounding aura... trying to process if that meant this boy was a human whom had some kind of potion or charm in act, or... if he were something else. The golden glimmer completely distracted him from answering William's actual question.

notes: Oops Nolan misunderstood that William WORKS for the TRS xD Little does he know...!
William felt oddly at ease with the other teen by his side. Not only from the fact that he had proved himself capable of putting up a fight. But also from the almost infectious confidence he gave off. The fact he was being led around wasn't anything new, agents guided him around the headquarters all the time. But they weren't usually the kind for talking. And the ones who did were far too bureaucratic.
William almost jumped a little as Nolan excitedly replied to his question. The sudden outburst taking him rather by surprise. "I wouldn't call it dedication that led me to being in that place." He said as he raised his hand to scratch at the back of his neck. "It just happens to be safer for me there." He could sympathize with the boys confusion with his living standards. After all William had a hard time understanding it most of the time himself. "Also I dont believe specialist is the right word. I believe the term they prefer to use is asset." He said rather nonchalantly, hoping he had done better explaining himself.
As the two began to come upon the nearby crossroads William took a few steps forward to take a cautious glance down either road. He turned back toward his companion ready to ask him witch way to go. Only to see him distracted by something. "Nolan?" He said as he took a step toward the young man, waving his hand gently to try and catch his attention. "Is everything alright?" The longer the two remained in proximity to one another the more obvious things would start to become. Air gently careening away from the blond as if by some unseen current. Filled with a soft buzz that seemed to coincide with the golden specks.
William's bodily language, the way he rubbed the back of his neck and speaking of how it was more so out of safety that he was able to be among the TRS, initially came across as modesty to Nolan. His expression transitioned into a more so calm demeanor as he listened to the fair-haired gentleman continue explaining something.... but unfortunately, by the time the young man had went into further depth regarding his situation, the casting glimmer of gold floating about him had already distracted Nolan. [break][break]
A wave interrupted his growing uncertainty about what exactly he was seeing, and Nolan blinked his eyes before giving them a firm rub as though to fix whatever tricks his vision was playing on him. With a couple more blinks, he refocused his gaze on William and offered him an apologetic smile. His footsteps had significantly slowed but not stopped in their walking.[break][break]
"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry about that...!" He couldn't help but... to wonder what the heck was going on, as only a second later he was still seeing the same exact gold-fleck hues sparkling around him. It was nearly reminiscent of what one would imagine pixie dust to look like. "I just thought.... I saw something.." He slowly begun to speak, before an eyebrow raised in puzzlement, "Is the air around you sparkling...?"

The steady creep of darkness on the horizon continued to steadily grow as the sun faded. The soft gold light catching the specks and causing them to become more prominent. Making the blond almost look like some sort of flower standing there in the middle of the sidewalk, pollen drifting softly in the wind. But William was oblivious to any of this. After having lived with it for so long it had become second nature to the young man. Although being around the other teen was causing his aura to act a bit more spurratic, likely reacting to his own magic.
As Nolan spoke up the young man felt a bit of relief. Happy he hadn't seen anything distressing like another terror. But even as he claimed he was fine William could see he was still distracted. The strange look on his face seeming familiar to the blond. And with the teens next question everything fell into place. "Oh!" He exclaimed as he lightly cupped his hands together. "yes.. They told me this may happen, albeit rarely."
It was then that William remembered the young mans spear from before. And a sudden rush of excitement seemed to come over him. "But you have magic do you not? So you can see it?" He took a step toward the young man unintentionally, becoming rather absorbed in his thoughts. "Normal folks often have a lot of difficulty. You must be quite strong."
