Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Wayne had thought the purpose of being a medic was to heal those that were injured in AP, of course since he was a lycanthrope it shouldn't have come as too much of a surprise that AP would have rather had him as a soldier because he had the strength for it if he had bothered trying. Of course he refused such a role and perhaps it was for that reason alone that his master had thrown him out into the blizzard this day, counting on him suffering because the shock collar around his neck kept him from being able to shift into his wolf form.
With only the clothes on his back, he found himself on the outskirts of Lorsette, wandering around to try and find shelter for himself. It was scary being out here on his own and he knew that his master had thrown him out in the cold purely to punish him. Oh how he wanted freedom from his prison, but first he'd need to remove this shock collar, but then again they held his brother somewhere and he didn't want him punished just because he didn't wish to remain a prisoner here. He stumbled upon a building and slowly went inside.
The first thing he had noticed was the men sitting around a fire, he slowly moved towards them only to stumble because he was freezing. An older gentleman had suddenly stood up to walk towards him, picking Wayne up in his arms he slowly walked back towards the fire before setting Wayne down in front of it to warm him up. He felt so cold, this torture was almost as bad as the shock collar, though at the present time he honestly believed it to be worse.
The older man had noticed the shock collar around Wayne's neck, it made him somewhat curious but then he was reminded of the wolf that he had ventured out to see, only to back away because he had decided that he hadn't wanted to get close to him after all. Now that he was becoming warmer, he had noticed the faint scent of another person here, but he wasn't near the fire, no, instead he was farther away, minding his own business.
It seemed that he had caught the old man by surprise with him staring at the wolf, not bothered by the fact that he was there at all. The old man had poured Wayne some soup, but instead of eating it, he slowly crawled away from the fire to head towards the wolf that he knew might like his alone time. "Here.... have some soup." The words had come off as a mumble because moving away from the fire had reminded him of how freezing he currently felt.
He set the bowl in front of Josuah, not at all bothered with the fact he was talking to a wolf in front of these men. "Your all alone out here too? Aren't you?" He asked, the words coming out a mumble as he shivered once more. It was freezing in here and though he was grateful that he wasn't outside, he couldn't find the strength to warm himself back up, but he refused to return back to the fire, not with Josuah being all alone over here.
Wayne couldn't help but view standing up, just to walk over with the bowl, just to sit down again would be too much effort, however in the middle of crawling on his knees to hand the bowl over to the wolf, he slightly regretted the action of not bothering to stand and walk over in the first place. He couldn't help but feel pleased when the wolf appeared to pay attention to him. Not to mention he hadn't bothered running away, which was a good sign. He had pulled his knees up to his chest to try and get warm, finding the ragged pants still freezing.
He thought when the wolf had hovered over the bowl that he was going to consider eating it and yet, he was sadly mistaken when he noticed the wolf moved into a sitting position before knocking the bowl with his paw so that it would get on the snow. "What? No...." He suddenly reached out to try and touch the burning soup, not believing in wasting before eating it. If the wolf wasn't going to eat it, he'd have to do it himself. "Wasting is wasting...." He mumbled, pausing because he on accident burned himself by touching the food too long.
What else is new.... It isn't nearly as bad as the shock collar.... He thought to himself, choosing to refrain from making any comment about the burn before snatching the empty bowl from the ground. He stood up, not making the same mistake as before, walking towards the men to get two more bowls of soup. He would then walk over before setting the bowl in front of Josuah. "You eat like this...." He stubbornly set the bowl in front of himself before moving on all fours to drink from it. Oh my god, why'd I do this a second time?
He thought to herself, pulling away to say. "When it isn't hot....." He mumbled from embarrassment before moving to sit down once more. Dear god.... I haven't eaten like this in a while. You know it has been a while since I shifted since I can't even eat properly anymore.... He thought to himself, reaching up he scratched just above the collar on his neck, being reminded of the horrid scars that lay just beneath it.
Wayne hadn't been aware that the old man wanted to say anything to him, however, it really wouldn't have matter much anyway. He couldn't help but feel comfortable around the wolf and chose to remain nearby him instead. Being around him made him less home sick, not that he cared to admit that. Of course he would feel determined to show him by coming back with two bowls of soup, wanting his companion to eat instead of starving himself, or at least he viewed him as starving himself. Shortly after returning with the bowls, he proceed to show Josuah how to eat, figuring that he needed some sort of encouragement since he had clearly knocked the bowl over on purpose earlier.
In the middle of suffering through his burned mouth for the second time, scratching at his neck, he couldn't help but feel pleased when he noticed Josuah eating the soup like a good boy. He watched Josuah lick his muzzle before looking towards the fire as if hinting for him to go. "Oh...." He mumbled slightly, thinking that Josuah hadn't wanted him around after all. Instead of leaving, he remained in his spot however, looking back at Josuah once more. "If you wanted to go to the fire, I don't think they'd mind." He answered, misunderstanding that Josuah wanted him to go to the fire and not himself.
Being near the fire seems so nice but.... being around you makes me feel much better. God knows once this darn Blizzard comes to an end, I'll be back in hell. He brought his knees up to his chest, finding it was the easiest way to become warm, when he was unable to shift into his other forms. If he had been able to shift, being cold wouldn't have been an option. Despite being freezing, he found a great need in being alert, just because he was thrown out, doesn't mean that AP wasn't nearby just waiting to drag him back to that hell hole.
He cared about his brother, he really did, but he wanted this shock collar off more. The sore sick hidden by the collar, itched, but because the collar was in the way, he was unable to reach to scratch it, which was a good thing because it would gain a higher chance of becoming infected. Once more a breeze blew inside and he shivered from it, but he refused to move from his spot.
Wayne was slightly surprised when Josuah hadn't moved closer to the fire. He looked back towards the voice coming from the old man from earlier, listening as they were invited to join them by the fire. He wasn't surprised when Josuah had remained in his spot, it would make sense since he was a wolf and the rest of them had a human form. Of course it meant that he'd remain here too, finding a strange comfort in being close to Josuah. When the old man had called out, asking for his name, he answered it. "Wayne." He couldn't help but feel surprised when the old man asked if Josuah would reveal himself.
Is that supposed to hint that he has a human form, or? He thought to himself, allowing his thoughts to ponder as he tried piecing together what the old man had meant when asking if Josuah would join them as his real self. I could be wrong but I think he was hinting at him having a human form, but I don't dare ask on the subject. I mean the worst that will happen is that I'm wrong and he is just a wolf. He was quiet for only a moment before answering, "It's okay if your feeling shy." He didn't want Josuah to feel pressured after all. Thoughts started to ponder in his mind, as if answers were slowly forming on why he felt so comfortable around him.
I mean I'm not about to complain. I've felt a bit home sick but seeing you has made me feel better even though you have a human form and choice not to shift into it. Assuming the old man was hinting at that anyway. He thought to himself, it wasn't like he could protect Josuah, not so long as he had this shock collar on. Well maybe not even after since he wasn't a fighter. As the blizzard continued, he found himself shivering slightly from being cold. He knew it was his own fault for moving away from the fire but he wanted to be near Josuah more. Within a few minutes he couldn't help but feel a great need to sneeze.
As soon as the first one had come, he continued sneezing into the sleeve of his arm before it finally had ceased. One of the guys near the fire had lite a cigar and he couldn't help but turn away, getting a strong whiff of it. Instead of making a comment, he slowly turned back towards the exit, as if braving the storm was a better idea instead of remaining inside and having to put up with smoke. Be cold....struggle breathing. Choices.... choices.... He thought to himself, once more reaching up to scratch at his neck, bumping the shock collar on accident.
The brief moment his shock collar was bumped, scarred flesh appeared before once more being hidden by the collar. Proving that he had worn it for a while since those scars were both old and fresh.
Wayne noticed the fur along his body begin to rise, but he remained calm, not worried enough though he knew that he should be. He honestly thought Josuah was being shy, he wasn't aware of his true emotions on the subject. He had started sneezing, cold from being away from the fire pit too long. He felt more comfortable around Josuah, his form bringing back old memories of his life when he was able to shift into his wolf forms. Once the fire had been built, he found himself warming up, though to his disappointment Josuah had moved away from them.
Fine, he'd just have to find some other ways to get Josuah's attention. Finding himself staring in his direction instead as he remained quiet. It wasn't like they knew each other, so he knew that he wouldn't be able to guilt trip for closeness. But, Josuah wouldn't be able to stop him from staring and so that would be his punishment for moving away from him. His nose remained slightly running as he attempted to warm up near the fire, wiping his arm against it to try and clean it off of his face.
When this blizzard comes to an end, I should leave. I know AP will be looking for me and I don't want to lead them anywhere near them. He thought to himself, wrapping his arms around himself as if to become more warm, even though the fire was helping him not freeze. Just watch him leave first, it wouldn't surprise me. He thought to himself, shaking his head slightly at the idea after breaking eye contact with him, choosing to be silent as well. The men were nice but he wanted Josuah's attention, but that proved to fail, so the sooner the storm came to the end, the sooner he could get out of their hair.
Wayne remained near the fire, quiet as he looked towards Josuah. Sometimes glancing away in an attempt to cease his staring but it was very difficult to keep his gaze away from Josuah. When the storm seemed to ease away, he found his running nose had finally dried up. He was deep in thought when he heard one of the men walk over to hand him an extra jacket. "Oh no, I'll be alright." He mumbled, planning on declining, receiving the jacket anyway. He watched as the men left first before slowly standing from the ground. He waited for them to leave, somewhat surprised that Josuah hadn't gotten up from the ground.
With a small smile he would turn away from Josuah. "I'm going to leave those for you. I just believe that you'll have better use for them." He mumbled, somewhat convinced that he might have a human form after all, "That is why I felt so comfortable around your presence." He added, walking away, without the jacket and gloves that had been set out for him. He knew there was a chance Josuah would decline too, though his reason was based off of not wanting his master to find out he had gained assistance to bare through this torturous punishment. The last connections he had with people, the less victims in the long run. "See you." He added before exiting the building to go on his own way.
