He inelegantly scrambled through the last few steps to rescue himself from drowning in the mess that he now didn't even recognise as his own room. He rubbed his temples and held in a exasperated sigh at the sight. He had moved any pottery, vases, everything breakable, everything that he did want dirty fingerprints on or that he didn't want in the vicinity of a child to a safer location (which accounted for most of the things in his room) and had filled it up with pillows from the house. It was the only child-friendly thing he could think of.It was an... unorthodox set up for a guest. Ki-Ha didn't like it one bit- it was sloppy, disorganised and made his room look like some cheap joke. He hated to admit it in his own house, but he was entirely out of his comfort zone. He had been told she looked about twelve? Who took their twelve year old to an escort house while you hit it off with someone else? Leave the thing at a god-forsaken nursery! In fact, if the reputation of the Vermonte family didn't precede them, Key would have had the girl refused before she even stepped into the forest. But their wealth and influence skimmed the surface of the most privileged elite here in Lorsette and thus (begrudgingly) he succumbed to whatever it would take to have them satisfied. “Do you need toys or anything else Ki-Ha?” A faint voice came from the door. “Do we even have child-appropriate toys here, Soo-young?” Ki-Ha asked, keeping the exasperation on a lower tone. But as much as he appreciated her help, the only toys they kept here were definitely not for twelve year olds to play with. What did kids that age even like to do? They had a no smart-phone policy but would it be worth breaking so she could play some game for the two hours her father had paid for? Some kind of online dress-up or coloring game- Maybe… “Bring me some of the old brushes, some ink- if we have any coloured ink in stock, the better- and some paper. Find some of the small dresses we put in storage as well and I’ll go through my make-up… little girls never grow out of dress-up and colouring in, right?” He asked to nobody in particular. Soo-young simply bowed and turned to carry out her duties “Don’t you dare bring out anything expensive! I’m not wasting any of those materials on some stupid kid…” He called after her. His eyes swept the room. He should move his table out of the way… those corners suddenly looked too sharp to belong in the middle of the room. Ki-Ha didn’t care for children. They were noisy, selfish, bratty things- not unlike adults- but they lacked their own funds which made putting up with adults bearable. He couldn’t believe he was actually doing this- how he wished the head of the Vermonte family had more of a thing for men so he could switch roles with his escort… ….Yet here he was dealing with baby-sitting. Maybe it was for the best? At least Ki-Ha could supervise the brat- he might have died of a veritable heart attack if he had to imagine all of the awful scenarios a kid could get into at the House while he was trying to concentrate on pleasing a guest. “I found some costumes from the Mulan sword performance and here are the materials you asked for..” “Leave them on the table.” He said abruptly, looking through what Soo-young had brought him. He had pulled the Mulan sword performances from the performances list after hearing how many Disney quotes and comparisons were being made. It had upset to be on the same level as some trashy Disney park. But he was glad they had kept the traditional clothes now. It could work in his favour if she was into Disney films. Hopefully she liked Mulan... If she was old enough, maybe Ki-Ha could show her one of the sword performances later on? She might appreciate that… If she seemed mature enough perhaps touching a sword as well… Or maybe Vermonte would be opposed to that. To hell with it- it’s not as though he was in any way or form contracted to look after this child. “Show her in Soo-young.” He said at last, giving a last look over the room to make sure that everything was all tidy away and only child appropriate things were left in the room. The door opened. Deep breath... this is just another client, “Welcome darling, please make yourself at home!” he welcomed warmly, his tone slightly cutsier and higher than usual. But he put on the same performance as he would do for any guest- even if she was only twelve, he would not let her leave with a word against the Lotus House. Especially if he wanted her father and that thick wallet of his to come crawling back. ✉ tag -- ( @khaalida ) ✎ 853 words ※ He has no idea what he's doing lmao |
