Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

gideon nodded at his response. there really wasn't anything that he watched, series wise that caught his attention. like ossian he would just watch whatever was interesting. he finished his sandwich and started to crumble up the paper the sandwich had been wrapped in. collecting his trash and putting it in the bag all the food had been placed in."well, i do like cooking shows."he randomly told him. gideon did in fact liked to cook. he didn't think of himself as a pro or anything of the sort. he liked trying new things."so if nothing catches my interesting i'll change it to the cooking channel."he said with a chuckle.
the conversation had turned to what type of work they do. gideon was honestly surprised at the answer. he would of never guessed ossian would be a bouncer. he seemed to nice for that sort of thing. then again, he really didn't know the guy. he chuckles."im sure its a great place to people watch."ossians tells him how fun it is to watch what happens in line. you think it would get boring, but yes there is also the chance that someone will be denied entry and then the fun begins."im sure they put on quite a scene."he chuckles once more.
he knew that question would come back. he wasn't sure if he wanted to go into detail of what he should be doing and not the job he has now. he sighed softly and figured he should just cut to the chase."i guess my technical title is bodyguard, though honestly at times i feel more like a babysitter or a personal assistant."he told him honestly with a shake of his head."though i guess i could of ended up with someone worse."
Ossian had listened to Gideon speaking about what shows he watched, as soon as it had changed to jobs he had picked up his sandwich once more to eat it. Once it was gone, he crumbled the trash in his hand, preparing to throw it away. "I see, surely it isn't that bad though? I mean you get to play both roles...." He answered with a smug grin on his face. "Unless your saying they are worse than that kid from earlier.... but then again, we can expect that from children, can't we?" He couldn't help but assume the person Gideon was protecting was a child, why else would he mention babysitting in the same sentence as being a bodyguard to them.
he laughed and shook his head."well, it wasn't what i was expecting to say the least. though it has been a rather interesting learning experience."he told him with a nod. which was the truth. whether half the things he had learned were relevant or not was yet to be seen.
"no, she no where near as annoying as that kid."he told him honestly. plus he knew how to get her to simmer down. did it always work? it really depended on the situation. he wasn't about to admit aloud how much fun he had teasing her.
he wasn't going to admit to anyone that he enjoyed her company. though mostly he was in denial. from day one he had been counting the days when he would return, though along that way he had stopped keeping track. he wasn't sure why, but he really didn't want to think about this any longer."so, im going to go ahead and assume you're from around here."gideon said with a chuckle."any suggestions of places i should check out?"
Ossian shook his head slightly. "No, I've just been here long enough to become familiar with it, is all." He explained before hearing Gideon's question. "Well you could check out the nightclub I work at." He shrugged his shoulders, "I will need a rain check on that list, not really going out much unless I have a reason too." He answered, giving an apologetic smile. "Though when the city has parties, you should consider going to those. I've seen them briefly and they look like fun, though I normally don't attend myself. I guess I just lack that motivation." He confessed, not really caring to go into detail for why that would be.
gideon chuckled softly."really, you seemed like a natural. well then again even you didn't know if there were benches in this park."he said jokingly. he finished the rest of his lemonade and also stuffed the cup into the bag his food had come in. once he was ready to leave he would toss it in the trash.
gideon nodded at his suggestion."wait you'd let me in?"he asked with a laugh."im not much for dancing, but i would definitively be up to seeing who show's up."he enjoyed listening to music, and his dancing was rather limited to one style and he was certain they wouldn't be playing those kinds of songs at the nightclub."i guess i could always stop by and buy you a drink."he said with a grin.
"so you're not a party person. it's not the end of the world. unless you're going with me, i think i'll pass on the parties too."
Ossian shrugged his shoulders, "I try to appear to know my way around this place but.... guilty as charged.... Oh you know what.... when I run, I do find myself sometimes going to the beach, so perhaps that is an option for a relaxing location for you." He answered, sometimes going there for his jogs. Though he didn't really linger to watch the ocean, he found the location calming. He laughed when Gideon made his comment about the nightclub. "Your right, you act a bit young for your age, perhaps I should ask for id first." He teased, though he wouldn't keep Gideon from going inside.
"There are plenty of other people that enjoy dancing that you would likely enjoy watching." He answered, guilty of staring at them himself when he would go inside during his shift, always going to another nightclub if it was his night off. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy his own job, it was just a bit weird and other co workers would attempt to ask him to take their shift if they found him there. "Ohhhhh, would you now?" He teased, clearly amused by the idea. "Well I can't wait to see you." He answered, "I promise to keep it interesting."
He chuckled at Gideon's comment about the parties. "Oh?" He asked, "Wouldn't it be better for us to go together? Assuming you aren't busy working." He was curious, not that he minded doing something else besides parties, though sometimes the best party was when you had somebody just like you also going. He pulled out his phone, "Shall we exchange phone numbers?" He asked, curious on if Gideon really planned on keeping touch with him or not.
gideon chuckled."well, you're doing a pretty good job, if i do say so myself."he hadn't thought about running to the beach. or on it for that fact. how long had it been since he had gone swimming? he was constantly in the water as a kid."the beach. i guess i wouldn't be too crowded after the summer ends."he said with a nod. he didn't mind crowds, but when he was running he preferred being alone with his thoughts. not that he couldn't bring music to play to drown out the crowds.
"wait, how old do you think i am?"gideon asked with a grin."i can assure you i am not jail bait."he said with a laugh. there had been a promise about coming to see him at the night club and getting him a drink. now he had to make sure he did go."if you play your cards right, it might even be two."he added with a wink.
"you're right. we should go together. at least if the party is boring we can keep each other entertained or go do something fun. unless you want to teach me how to dance."he chuckled once more.
"sure."hell, it wouldn't hurt to have actual friends in this city. he pulled out his phone and opened it up to the new contact page and handed it to ossian."here, put your info here."
Ossian couldn't help but grin when Gideon said he was doing a good job, he tried, though trying could only get him so far. Just meant that practice really meant perfect. "Well if you go early in the morning, you'll miss the crowd then too." He chuckled, sometimes going early in the morning to make sure he got his running in for the day. Of course if he forgot, he would just fit it in, sometime later on before his day become busier. He then had teased Gideon about showing id. "If I tell you, you might update your id on me...." He jokes, believing Gideon to be an adult.
It wouldn't stop him from teasing him however. "Oh?" He teased, laughing at the term jail bait. Is that what this generation is calling these kiddos, now these days. He thought to himself as he nodded his head in agreement. "Yes.... I find myself believing you." Though his answer came out as teasing, finding this conversation too enjoyable to hold back. The conversation lead to Gideon possibly teasing him back, mentioning how he might even get two drinks out of the deal.
"Well then, I best get my game on." He answered back, once more teasing Gideon in return. He chuckled when Gideon agreed that they should go together. It was true though, they would be able to keep each other entertained, even if it was possibly based off of pointing out what was wrong with the party to begin with. "Or I could watch some other poor soul attempt to teach you how to dance.... gives me a chance to eat popcorn as I watch with amusement." He teased, not willing to admit that he doesn't dance.
He then suggested phone number swapping and to his surprise, Gideon had agreed with him before handing his phone over so that he could put his information in it. He set it up for Gideon to add himself as a contact before handing the phone over to him. "Same to you." He took the phone, putting his name and phone number in before saving it. He would then proceed to hand the phone back over to Gideon, waiting to take his back as well.
gideon nodded at ossian's response."yeah, i guess that's true, but you're not going to make me run by myself are you?"
gideon chuckled."me? i'd never do that to you. the thought hadn't even crossed my mind."he said as he playfully batted his eyelashes."i'm completely innocent."he continued a small laugh escaping his lips."if you must know, im old enough to buy you a drink or two."
he found himself smirking at ossian's response."you do? that's good to know."he laughed once more."so you like to watch? that's very interesting, but don't think i'll let you get away that easy. you'll have to dance with me at least once."
ossian had suggested they exchange numbers and gideon agreed. handing his phone over once it was on the contact information. they swapped phones and gideon began to enter his information. saving it and handing it back to ossian."text me whenever you're ready for that drink."
Ossian chuckled, "Depends if I remember or not. I wouldn't ditch you on purpose though." He teased playfully but in all seriousness, he would attempt to be there in the morning. Gideon was teasing him back about the id and he continued chuckling. "Oh really now? You sure, you positive?" He teased back, knowing that Gideon was old enough regardless. "You'll have to show me sometime." He teased back, or course if Gideon was serious about the drink buying, he'd have to be sure to return the favor in the near future. "Very much so." He answered back before playfully pouting. "Now now.... I don't dance." He countered, as if that would get him out of it.
Though dancing with Gideon sounded like it would be rather pleasant, but he wasn't about to admit that. It would mean possibly having to deal with dancing in general and Gideon would come to realize just how bad he was at it. No no, he wasn't about to let Gideon find out. They had exchanged phone numbers before taking their own phones back. "Will do." He answered back, tempted to joke about the dancing but thought better of it. The last thing he wanted to do was make it permanent about having to take dancing lessons.
gideon chuckled."i would hope not. considering how tempting you just made it sound."though he figured it he did actually forget, he wouldn't hold it against him. sometimes it was better to go on runs by yourself. especially if you just wanted some alone time.
the teasing continued back and forth."i'll totally flash you my card."he said with another chuckle."don't hold it against me if i forget."he said before they jumped back to the topic of dancing."well, if you keep looking at me like that. how can i force you to dance."
no sooner that they returned each other's phones, that gideon's started to go off. he laughed as he turned the ringer off. he didn't even have to look at his phone to know who it was. it wasn't like it he had given his number out to too many people. actually ossian was the only one, besides demy. it was highly unlikely that it was ossian, considering that he had just got his phone back. he sighed and shook his head."sorry, going to have cut our date planning short, but that was my boss."he told him with a laugh, as he got up and grabbed his the crumpled paper bag.
"don't be a stranger and stop picking fights with rude kids."he told him with a wink before he started to walk away. he tossed the bag into the trash and started to text demy that he was on his way back.
