Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Urijah had just finished work before calling for his limousine. As soon as he had walked outside the limousine was parked by the steps and his driver was near the car door, preparing to open it for him. He would slip inside before buckling his seat belt just as his driver walked around the car to get into the driver's seat. "Where do, sir?" His driver would ask, starting the engine he would pull onto the street. "The Golden Crown." He had answered in return, somewhat zoning out as they drove down the streets. It was a few minutes later that his driver had pulled into the parking lot before finding a spot to park. He would then get out of the car before walking around to open up Urijah's car door. He stepped outside, leaving his stuff in the car before slowly walking towards the door before pulling it open to walk inside.
The place was packed, as should be expected. He found a table that he was interested in sitting in, slowly he walked up to the counter, waiting for the bartender to notice him so that he could order his drink. As soon as he got his drink he would return back to the table before taking a seat, quite pleased that he was alone. He wasn't interested in having any random company tonight. He slowly would sip his drink, savoring the flavor as it went down his throat. Oh how he could do this for a while, but he didn't want a hang over before a big case.
it was like clock work. elliott never left the office when there were things yet to be finished. yes, he understood it was important to take a break once and a gain, but if he had started something he wanted to finish it. he didn't have to finish the entire thing, just the part of the whole.
after he would finish his task, he wouldn't head straight home. again it's become routine to find him at the crown. it didn't matter if he won or lost a case. the crown had become like a second home to him. whether that was good or bad was left to be seen. it's not like he was the type to get completely wasted. no, he would simply go in for a couple drinks to help him unwind and then he would be on his way.
no matter how his day had gone. one thing could be for certain, that nothing wrong ever happened at the crown. well, not for him at least. though whatever forces were found in the universe, today would not be a typical night.
he walked in without glancing around. he really didn't care who was here. as long as he got a spot at the counter he would be fine. as he made his way towards his usual spot, from the corner of his eye he caught sight for a familiar shade of hair. merely coincidence right? despite being the curious type. this was one thing he could do without. he took the extra measure to sit as far in the corner as possible. he found this whole thing ridiculous. surely, it wasn't him.
things did not end well the last time he had brought them all together. right now those were not the thoughts he wanted to have running around. he sat in an empty seat and quickly ordered his drink. he cursed his curiosity as he tried to catch a glimpse of that man. if it was him, elliott was certain that he did not want to be discovered by his brother. he was the last person he wanted to see here tonight.
Urijah had been standing at the counter when another person had taken a seat, he had caught a glimpse of them despite having people between them. The dark hair, he honestly looked somewhat familiar but he was too busy waiting for his drink to pay the guy any mind. Of course once he got his drink, he took the chance to glance towards the guy, whom he thought looked familiar to see that it was Elliott, his younger brother. Without making a comment, he had returned back to his table as he had planned. The last time they had seen each other, it he could recall it was around the funeral when his mother had told him horrible things. She had claimed that Lachlan had done some things and it turned out none of them were true. He had convinced his siblings of the truth and how they needed to handle Lachlan once and for all. Oh how he wished he could go back in time and avoid causing his brother so much pain. That vile woman, she was going to pay someday but first he would have to pay for his own crimes before he could accuse her of her own.
He didn't view his siblings at fault for the trouble caused on Lachlan, he was the older brother, he should have known better than to believe his mother's lies and his father's belief of handling his step son. If he had known, his brother wouldn't have died and maybe he would be able to live with himself today, but as it stood. He was somewhat craving the day that he would have a chance to die again but remain dead once and for all. He raised the glass to his lips, slowly taking a drink. If I had known he would be here tonight at this time, I would have thought better than to come here too. He thought to himself, enjoying his silence, finding it as the only pleasant thing in this bar besides his younger pain in the butt brother. Not that he'd ever admit to anybody about finding his siblings pleasant.
elliott was already working on his third drink. he was clearly annoyed that he was here. out of all his siblings he was the last person he wanted to see. hell he'd even buy lochness a drink. it was evident elli had issues with his older brother urijah. ever since they were little. though there was a time elli had actually looked up to his brother, he wanted to be just like him. he was completely foolish for even thinking that. there was no way in hell he would want to be like his brother now.
though fate had a funny way of doing things. elliott kept what he wanted to do with his life quiet. it wasn't like he was keeping it a secret. he just didn't really talk about it. again, it's not like they cared. the only one in the spotlight was uri. yet they both followed their father's footsteps, well to an extent. he motioned towards the bartender for another drink. he was not going to let uri ruin his night.
it wasn't a secret. he knew uri was in town. it was rather hard to miss his name on certain cases. he tried to his best to keep some distance with anything that involved his brother. as the crowd cleared he cursed himself for turning to look for him. he needed confirmation, yet he already knew the answer. elliott saw him clearly and frowned.
part of him wanted to walk over there and demand to know what the hell he was doing here. why of all places he had to show his stupid face here. things were going great, until he decided to show up. though another part of him did not want to make the first move. he had nothing to talk about, he just wanted him gone. he did nothing, but ruin everything for him. elliott glared at his brother. fist clenching as he grabbed his drink and made his way over."what the hell are you doing here?"elliott finally spit out after a few seconds of silence.
Urijah had attempted to ignore him, having reason to believe if they didn't try talking to one another maybe he could leave before changing his mind. In my defense, I hadn't known he was here and soon as I figured it out, I didn't bother searching you out because I knew I caused trouble between us as I had with everybody else. It has been a while, though I think we can go longer with not talking or speaking to each other if it means you can live your life in peace. Besides I don't want to answer a possible how have you been doing question, it would require me to come up with a lie and frankly I don't care to figure one out right now. He thought to himself as he tried ignoring his brother's presence. Of course things hadn't gone as planned on when Elliott had stood up from the stool, just to go to his table to ask why he was here. He would allow silence to come between them, as if his brother hadn't come over to ask him his question. He set the glass on the table as soon as he had finished drinking it.
He would then turn to look towards Elliott as he prepared himself to answer his question. "I came for a drink." He answered, forcing a smug grin to appear on his face. The last thing he wanted, was for Elliott to figure him out emotionally. If I wanted another drink before, all motivation left as soon as he came to my table. He thought to himself. "What brings you to my table Elli?" He asked, throwing the question right back at him. I know you are upset with me, so why are you standing at my table when I know you'd be happy farther from me?
why the hell did he get up. everything had been okay up until he had confirmed that it was his brother sitting at the table. he should of finished his drink and headed home. though that would of felt like he was admitting defeat. he was not about to let uri win. not again.
it was stupid, but he wasn't going to let him have the satisfaction of watching him leave. no, instead he found himself making his way over. demanding to know what he was doing. elli frowned at the obvious response."clearly, i can see that."elli said with a frown."what i meant was, why here? there are plenty of other places you could gotten your drink."
"oh, don't think you're someone special. that's all i care about. knowing why of all the places, you chose to be here?"he was still quite upset to know that his brother remained here. when he had heard the news that his brother was in lorsette he had been in such a bad mood. he figured that he would see him any second, but he hadn't. it wasn't like last time. him gathering them all up to kill.
Urijah listened to his question. He chose to remain quiet as Elli continued talking, seeing no point in answering his question until his brother took a breath. With a small sigh he prepared to speak. "Do you own this bar?" He asked, knowing the answer. "I have a right to go where I please as you have a right." He answered, not feeling a great need in explaining his reason for why he chose right now to come to the bar. "I simply came for a drink, that is all." He answered, glancing back towards Elli, "But that answer isn't good enough for you, is it Elli?" He found himself tracing the glass with his finger tips, wanting another drink because he craved it but he knew at this point it would be a bad idea. If given the chance he would drink for hours, but seeing as he had worked to do and he didn't want to risk his emotions showing, he held back.
"To answer your question, I came here because I felt like it. There is honestly no other reason, despite knowing that your in town too." He didn't want Elli thinking he was unaware, he didn't care that Elli knew he was in town. He didn't care if Elli knew that he had figured out he was in town. The bottom line was that he hadn't come to talk with him or bother him, he had come here for a drink. Though he had come here when he figured out Lachlan was here, but Elli didn't need to know that answer. With any luck, Elli hadn't gotten wind that he had left his son instead of telling him that he was coming here. He hoped this secret would pan out just a little bit longer while he tried hiding from the rest of his family.
this had to be one of his stupidest ideas yet. he should of just stayed in his seat and finished his drink. it seemed like he was completely unfazed by the barrage of questions. elli continued to glare at his brother as he countered with questions of his own. elli knew better than to answer and he remained silent.
really what was he expecting to happen? that uri would see the error of his ways and immediately leave? this whole situation was simply idiotic. how many times would he have to remind himself? he sighed softly trying to think of what to do. the most logical was to obvious leave. would he be able to return to this seat or would he simply just leave the bar? yet his feet did not budge from the spot. he still didn't want to admit defeat, not yet.
there was nothing else to say to the man. this had simply been a lame attempt to get him to leave. he was still such a child around uri. it upset him how simply his presence alone would make him angry. you would think them being out on their own now that his feelings would change? he didn't have anyone to impress, he wasn't searching for that special attention that uri received from their parents. he didn't care anymore, but yet he couldn't let go of those feelings of feeling inferior."such a lovely talk brother. let's not do this again."elli said with a fake smile before turning away.
Urijah sighed when Elli gave him a fake smile and had turned his back to him. "Elli, for what it is worth. It is good to see you again." He answered, knowing there was no forgiveness for what role he had played in their family. A good older brother would have seen the errors of abusing a younger brother as the horrible encouragement the parents brought upon the older siblings. It didn't matter that he had been tricked into believing such methods as okay from his parents, he should have known that it was wrong and been a better example to them. I tried becoming a better parent than I had a brother, look where that got me. I killed my wife and have fled from my beloved son. I know that he wasn't happy once he had figured out I wasn't home anymore but I just can't bring myself to reach out to him. I don't know what I'm supposed to do anymore, being a lawyer helped me try and hide my guilt but slowly that will crumble as well.
Sooner or later this guilt inside of me is going to explode and I'll be forced to tell Lachlan that I know about his death because I had been behind it. I refuse to tell him that our siblings were involved since I did the kill blow myself. He slowly stood up from the table, not paying attention to Elli as he turned away to head towards the door. He hadn't planned on staying here for a while anyway, as promised he would go for a drink and leave. There wasn't anything in this world that would satisfy him as having a family that he could truly view as his own, however he would forever be grateful to have a son in his life even if he had no idea of his where abouts. "Don't tell anybody you saw me here today, Elli." It came off as a demand but he wasn't going to do anything if family got wind that he was here.
elliott had only taken a few steps before turning to face his brother. there was a frown on his face and he shook his head."don't pretend you care."he told him the disgust clear in his tone. with that he had decided maybe it was time to head home. he set his glass back on the counter and paid for his drinks before collecting his things and heading for the door.
the night was already ruined for him. he was stupid for coming over and talking with him. he should of left when he had the chance. though now it seemed like they both had the same idea. as elliott locked eyes with urijah once more, while heading towards the exit."why are you still talking to me? do i have to spell it out for you?"elliott said with another frown. it was no secret that urjiah wasn't his favorite. all through childhood he had avoided his older brother. though there had been a time that elliott looked up to him. he couldn't remember what possessed him to do something that stupid.
"you.. don't tell me what to do. if you didn't want to be found out. then you should of stayed hidden."elliott told him, hoping to be the one with the last word. he continued towards the exit.
