Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
Cars hummed up and down the road dirtying the snow with their exhausts and tracks. It was a cloudy but bright day in the lazy lull after the morning rush and creeping toward the lunch hour on hour at a time. A small white fox sat across the street from the local police station. Their chin rested on her front paws boredly under a bus bench while watching the people move slowly inside the building and out. Painfully slow in fact that left them yawning and curling up to nap. Next to them under the bench was a shopping bag full of clothing all folded up neatly. It was strange to see an albino fox but it was winter and a person could mistaken them being an artic fox... despite being in the wrong climate for that.
But this city has seen far more stranger things it seemed allowing for this fox to now seem very mundane. Which caused the question of why were they there to come up. Around the fox’s neck looked to be a collar of sorts. Someone must’ve been on the exotic side and rich. Their pelt didn’t have the look of being shaggy or unkept and dry but silk smooth with good conditioning. Despite being rather bored in their current state, their eyes continued to remain fixated on the police station with a scheming glint.
"Julia Franklin. Female. 36. Found dead at 1:36 last night in her own front lawn, torn to shreds. No witnesses." Detective Crystal Nevada muttered to herself with a sigh.
Another Terror attack, most likely... what was this now, the tenth this week? Slumping back in her seat, she stared out the window of the empty precinct and tapped her pen against the report on her desk, deep in thought. Thankfully, all of her fellow officers had gone to lunch, leaving her alone to work in peace. Nevada herself had no need to eat, yet she felt that even if she did, she wouldn't have let herself rest with such horrible carnage cropping up in her city every single night. It wasn't right to relax. Yet she was still waiting on the coroner's report as well as that of the forensics team, so perhaps forcing herself to work with nothing to actually work on was futile. She compared case notes on the more grisly of the recent murders for a few minutes before rubbing her cheek in frustration. She'd need to get in touch with her TRS contact later to see what they've got and to send them the results of the autopsy, but until then it was time to hit the streets, she supposed.
Rising to her feet and gathering her things, Nevada flitted by the sergeant in reception to inform them that she was going before stepping through the main doors out into the bright white winter cityscape. A sharp wind blew across her bare legs, cold as ice, drawing her thoughts toward home. I hope Saya's staying warm... She checked her phone for messages but, finding none, shoved the device back into her pocket and made her way down the snow-bound sidewalk.
Her nose wrinkled from the exhaust pipes of a car pulling up to drop off a woman in a sharp business suit for work. The fox spat at the snow and pawed at the end of its snout in displeasure. Sitting about in this snow was fine and dandy but it was starting to feel like it was going nowhere. If worse comes to worst, and it has come to this before, it'll have to sneak into that building one way or another. The living den was getting boring but they didn't want to go regret coming out here too! Their paw prodded the bag beside them in consideration of its contents; whether or not to put them to use.
The fox's head looked to check the shadow line of the bus stop sign beside the bench like a sundial only to find no shadow to read. Their head poked out from under the bench now to find that the sky had clouded over by now. An hour more must have slipped away and hunger was setting in. They'd eat the snow but knew it was filthy and metallic tasting in the city to even try. The fox wasn't dumb enough to try that a 5th time. Soon the doors to the station across the way opened once more with this time a pale woman in shorts exiting the building. Finally!
Not wanting to lose track of them, the fox cramped their jaws around the bag and started making their way out from under the bench. Smartly it checked for incoming and oncoming traffic before crossing the road to tail after her. In minutes the fox was trotting along at their heels. Their tail battled at their ankle boots before jumping up to waist height for a show of their impatience.
"You take forever! Are you finally doing outdoor work?"
Nevada jumped as something brushed against her ankle, almost slipping on a patch of ice to avoid stepping on whatever was by her feet as she walked. "Sayaka!" the detective chided as she glanced downward to find her little puffball of a pet prancing and bouncing around. "You should be at home. It's too cold out here." Her actions betrayed her annoyance, however, as she bent down to scoop up the fox into her arms and shelter her from the chill.
"Yes, of course I'm working—I'm always working. You know that." It was then that the shining woman noticed the bag in Sayaka's teeth. "What's this? Please don't tell me you stole something again. I have to deal with enough criminals as it is." She smiled after a moment and gently poked the fox on the nose, briefly raising Sayaka up to her face to nuzzle her soft fur.
“Steal?! I never!” The kitsune scoffed at the notification, allowing herself to be picked up abd have her fur be smothered against her partner’s face. The motion was comforting enough tobmake up for waiting around outside their work station. As for the bag, the fox huddled in the golem’s arms. From here would Crystal be able to see into the bag of some very familiar articles if clothing rolled and tucked in to avoid the snow getting to them.
“I am merely borrowing. It’s not stealing if we share these items.” Sayaka continued to justify the bag’s contents being as some of Crystal’s clothes than some filthy ones stolen from questionable places. “Then where is work takinng you? I hope there is something to eat along the way.” Jokes aside, the fox nuzzled the golem’s chest as their odd but caring pet.
