Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff
season
Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
Jester yawned a bit at his desk. He was up very late directing more troops and making more missions for the general force of his section of the TRS. It was a pain stacking process. It just a lot of paper work along with a lot of breaks for coffee. He hated it a lot to say the least. But it needed to be done. But at the same time he was directing more efforts to his personal mission with his cult. The cult gaining some more traction the past couple months. Jester secretly going out and and planting agents in high places. It was almost too good to be true. As the general of a force that the people relied so heavily on, and being able to blackmail or out right convince people to join his cause...In which no one knew about except his cult.
He got up from the desk and stretched a bit as he went to the coffee pot and took the handle and lifted it up but it was empty. He just sighed as he put the coffee pot back and set his cup on the desk. "Might as well take a break since I've been at it for nearly 10 hours at this point." he said to himself. It was his duty to do all the the paper work most of the time. But it was boring...too boring for the light hearted general. As he opened his door and proceed out. He walked down the hall, took a couple turns and found his way to the med bay. He thought it would be a good idea to check up on the staff and see how they were doing. He walked in coughing like he was sick to see if they would give him something. As he walked in and sat right on a bed waiting to see how long it took for someone to come up to him.
surprisingly enough there were a couple of empty beds. that was usually never the case. if anything the beds were always full and they would have to put people in groups. she was glad though. the more empty beds they had, meant that they didn't have anyone hurt. it didn't matter that she was currently sitting at the desk looking over charts. she never found paperwork amusing, then again who did?
she did have a couple of patients she would have to check on in a few minutes. take their vitals, pass some medication and overall just make sure that they were comfortable. she chewed her lips softly as she continued typing away. it was easy to get caught up in paperwork. she had set a timer and right as she was saving the report the timer had gone off.
she stopped it and stood up stretching her arms over her head. how long had she been sitting there. too long she thought to herself as she started her rounds. a couple of the other medics had gone to lunch. she wondered what she should have. she visited a few rooms before coming to her last. she was positive the beds in the room were empty, but there was clear signs that someone was in there.
she was uncertain why? had she missed a patient. not that that hadn't happened before. it was easy to miss a patient when the rooms were crowded. maybe the other medics assigned to this room missed them? she couldn't go on and assume. she knocked on the door before entering and announcing her presence."hello, im danika..."she stopped mid-sentence once she realized who it was. a guy like him, it wasn't to hard to figure out who he was.
"oh, general...what can i do for you?"she asked softly as she awkwardly saluted. she didn't know why, but the higher ups always made her a bit nervous.
Jester had made himself comfy on the bed. Putting his feet up and his arms behind his head as an extra pillow of sorts. He took out a lollipop and undid the wrapper it and started to eat it. This sight should be one to behold. One of the strongest and more intelligent members of the TRS, the general in fact, acting like a elementary school child playing hooky. It was like he was a bit proud of taking a break from his work. Which in reality he should be considering the past ten hours have been nothing but work. But there till a lot to be done. And he is here in the med wing playing sick just to get a nap or some rest.
He finished the lollipop really fast and tossed the stem in the trash just before he heard a knock as a green haired girl walked in. A mighty cute one too if he may add. Even though if his wife was around she would have probably smacked him just for thinking of it. She began to introduce herself before stopping mid sentence and saluted a bit awkwardly after realizing just who was sitting in the bed. He looked at her, up and down with a couple quick glances. "No need to be so formal. Just think of me as another one of the boys." he said with a calming smile. As he adjusted his white jacket. His ears twitched a bit from hearing some things in the hall.
"You mind closing the door Danika? Don't really feel like having people see me out my office and in the med bay. Nor starting a fuss about something." he sighed as he yawned a bit. The bags under his cold dead eyes were very visible. He honestly wished he could just stay here all day and nap. But he couldn't someone would find him eventually. As he sat back as he did sit up just a bit to see whom was walking in.
He just looked at her, his eyes just peering at her, maybe through her. As his expression lightened. "Are you sure you are a medic. You are far too cute." he said as he just looked for a response...It might be weird hearing that from someone like the general. His cold dead eyes, and body not really matching his words or personality. So it could come off quite creepy. Not that he cared. He has been alive for over 2000 years. So nothing really bothers the man anymore.
danika saw it all with her job here. finding the general kicked back and relaxed was something she never would of expected in a million years. the higher ups always made her nervous. she didn't see them too often down on this end of the wing. it made her feel like something was wrong. for all she knew they were just touring the place or what have you.
she may not seem like the type, but she was a bit of a pessimist. though if ever asked she would deny that fact and claim to be a realist, which isn't any better.
she had been completely caught off guard. she wasn't sure how to act. she stood there wondering what to do. trying to calm herself down. he told her not to be so formal and she nodded and let her hand drop. one of the boys. she bit her lip to keep herself from laughing. she didn't know why she found that amusing.
without a word she did what she was told and quickly returned to the spot where she had been standing previously."so you're alright? i don't need to take your vitals."she asked a look of concern on her face.
she hoped she didn't come off as a nervous wreck. she was regaining her composure until he called her cute. she could already feel the heat rising in her cheeks."what? i mean...yes. i passed all the necessary test. i have all my credentials up to date..."and now she probably sounded like an idiot. she wasn't sure what was worse. this or the time she embarrassed herself in front of fritz. she couldn't believe she had forgotten his name.
Jester looked at the green haired woman as he talked, just looking for a reaction and response to what ever he was saying. Jester was quite keen on picking up social things. And Danika was more than obvious nervous. Just from her reactions. I mean it probably wasn't every day that the general just pops into the med ward and is in the room. That is quite the development one would say. After all most people might think it could be an evaluation or something like that. But in all reality it was just Jester being Jester and ditching his responsibilities for a little bit.
When he called her cute he just stared at her. Seeing her face turn a light hue of pink. A slight blush had formed on her face. Then she rambled on about how she has all the credentials and all that. Which led to Jester just chuckling. It was clear that she was easily flustered. Which in Jester's mind made it an easy to choice to keep coming back after today. After all a little heartedness and flirting never hurt anyone right? Plus if this was how Danika was going to react with just the tiniest bit of flirting he wondered how she would react to other things.
"No I'm fine. I just came to escape my office for a bit. It was getting stuffy and needed some fresh air." he said as he sat up and let his feet rest on the tiled floor. "Plus I've never been to the med ward much. Thought I'd check it out. And I would say it was worth it just to see a pretty face." he added. Trying to entice the poor girl to be even more flustered. Not only was he her boss... well everyone's boss. He was flirting with her a little bit. Jester really does earn his name... being the trickster he is.
why was this happening to her. when did she get so easily flustered. she tried to regain her composure once more. she wanted to hide, she never was the type that craved to be the center of attention. yet here she was in the spotlight. he laughed and she looked down.
she knew she was making a fool of herself. she sighed softly trying to calm herself. alright, this was ridiculous. she was over exaggerating just a bit. she had at least managed to ask if he really was alright and she nodded when he told her that he was fine.
now it was her turn to laugh."fresh air. wouldn't of going outside been a better choice?"she asked with a small smile. then again she understood what he meant. being stuck in an office was probably not that much fun. at least danika was able to get up and walk around. sure it was the same thing over and over again, but at the same time it wasn't. you never knew what sort of injuries you had to treat.
she nodded."that's a good thing though."most people avoided the ward and that was fine with her. she didn't wish to see anyone hurt, but she was there to help. she looked away trying to hide the blush that was creeping up on her face again."you're too kind."she said as she stepped away from the bed and headed towards the window."how about that fresh air."she said trying to keep busy as she pushed the curtains back, just enough to open the window just a tiny bit. it was cold out, but a little cold air would do her some good.
