Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.

A smooth sweeping out of his leg allowed him to properly knock Vashti off balance, although, his expression remained neutral despite his victory. Under most circumstances, Fritz’s fixation remained on the battle since he was well aware merely knocking the brunette off balance was not enough to reign him the victor. While Vashti landed on her back, she was hasty to react, instead rolling on her side to gain distance from her. Instead of pursuing, the ancient warrior steadily raised from the floor, returning to his defensive position from before. There would be plenty of opportunities to play the more aggressive opponent, but hand-to-hand combat was oftentimes taken defensively because of the possibility of enhancements giving his opponent the edge. In swordplay, the story was entirely different with the reaper switching frequently between choices, sometimes preferring defensive and other times taking the aggressive role and playing offensively; he knew he possessed the skill to pull it off.
Silently, Fritz watched as his apprentice rose from the ground, leaving him to wonder if she discovered his technique. He knew with each decision he made in their combat scenario, the more obvious it became that he wanted to throw her off balance. When she rushed him, the reaper prepared himself, finding the surprise of somersaults a surprising twist; she relied heavily on balance for her moves. When she proved to be rather high in the air for her next attack, the slightest bit of a brief smirk touched Fritz’s face. He dodged to the right to avoid her blow instead of remaining in her path; there was a chance he could throw her balance off in landing. While Vashti passed, the ancient warrior reached out to jab her side, hoping she would struggle to twist or be too surprised to block his moves. He never thought about the possibility of her counter should he have blocked, he merely hoped that should he fail to land his hit, her landing would be thrown off balance.
Vashti had seen him move, but before she had a chance to move he had jabbed her in the side, knocking her off balance. Despite efforts she was able to land on her feet, remaining in a crouched position. I could have done better.... been faster.... but it was too difficult... She couldn't help but think it had something to do with the fact that she liked him, but then again, he was experienced as it was. All she knew was that if she wanted to try that attack again, she would have to be faster next time. In a way, she was relieved that she had missed, finding the thoughts in the back of her mind somewhat embarrassing. She slowly stood up from her spot to turn back to face him.
I'm fast, I won't let you beat me.... She thought to herself before rushing towards him again. She held her arms up as she tried getting between his block with her arms to try and pull them open. Fritz was stronger than her, but she was determined to not give up. Within a few minutes she pulled away to get distance between them. "Your the boss, what is next?" She wasn't going to assume to take her sword, for all she knew, her friend wanted a little break first. That is how it was with training, she wasn't against taking a break, it would give her a chance to regain the energy she had lost when they had first started their hand-to hand combat training.
There was a certain fact Fritz was aware of when it arrived at their sparring, Vashti was faster than him; her abilities required it after all. While he sharpened his body to his best physical performance, but Fritz knew there would inevitably be people faster, stronger and generally more powerful than him. Thus, the ancient warrior relied on clever planning to avoid being beaten easily. He had taken advantage of Vashti still being airborne, knowing dodging would prove problematic. A quick jab at the brunette’s side was successful, however, she managed to land in a crouch position. There was a subtle narrowing it Fritz’s eyes, his determination to reign victorious being evident in the rich, blue eyes. They had been sparring for a bit, and neither side appeared to have taken enough to forfeit the competition. The reaper refused to be beaten without providing a proper or difficult challenge for the other person. The ancient warrior’s eyes fixated on his opponent as she slowly rose from her crouched position, before beginning her attack again.
She rushed towards him, Fritz already preparing himself to endure another altercation. When Vashti arrived, the reaper was prepared to block her attacks, only to discover her attempts to defuse them and create an opening. Allowing her inside of the blocks could not be warranted, thus when the brunette managed to get close to accomplish her objective, Fritz sharply lifted his knee in an attempt to hit her gut. If he managed to knock the air from her at any point, he would declare a break to allow her to breathe. When she finally pulled away from her assault of hits, a pause ensuing as she inquired about the next training. The ancient warrior relaxed his body, standing up straight from his previous position.
“We’ll have a break first, then we can either keep going with hand-to-hand or switch to swords,” Fritz explained. “You may get some water.”
The reaper retreated from the open space, hands placed on his hips. He walked towards the bleachers, mouth dry. Smoothly, he sifted through his belongings before grabbing a metallic bottle filled with water. Afterwards, he took a long sip from the container. There was a subtle pain since he was required to work his muscles, although, nothing substantial enough to make Fritz cease the training; he could check his wounds during the break.
Vashti had managed to accomplish giving herself an opening but no sooner had she done so that she felt his knee hit her in the gut. She stumbled backwards, taking this chance to try and regain her balance. It was hard, trying to regain her balance when she had the wind knocked out from her. Within a few seconds she had rushed towards him again, hoping to slip in a few blows before pulling away for a break. "Alright." She answered him, moving away to get herself some water from the fountain. Unlike him, she hadn't bothered bringing one along. Besides it meant that she could, in a matter of speaking, day a longer break since the drinking fountain had unlimited water, it wasn't like she had to worry about it becoming empty in a matter of seconds.
She pulled away before slowly moving to retrieve her sheath, she would place it back on her belt, waiting for him to say go. "Once your ready, tell me." Despite having the energy to keep training, she couldn't help but feel somewhat overwhelmed from the lack of sleep she had given herself. Come now. Just a little bit longer and then you can rest at home.... Just to go back to the office later for more work. She thought to herself with a small sigh, it wasn't something Fritz needed to know about however, seeing as he had his own problems to deal with. Besides, he'd never approve of her behavior, if only he knew.
After a few moments, Fritz watched as Vashti hastily recovered from his attack and proceeded to rush back towards him. Admittedly, the reaper found his apprentice's quick recovery to be rather impressive; not all warriors could manage to return to their feet after having the wind knocked out of them. She returned to attempting to strike him, the ancient warrior defending himself but being forced to take a few hits before their training session ceased and he moved to enjoy his water. Once his extensive sip from the bottle was taken, he placed it back onto the bleachers. The refreshing taste of cold water was an excellent reward after a sparring match. A long breath escaped his lips as he slowly reached for one of the bandages, slowly unravelling it to glance over the cut. The wound was shallow, appearing to not have suffered damage from the sparring match. A small nod was provided to the injury before Fritz proceeded, glancing over each of his wounds and receiving similar results, although, some had subtle hints of blood. His eyes flitted towards Vashti when she informed him to tell her when he was ready, which he provided a nod of acknowledgement.

Eventually, evaluating his wounds was completed, Fritz grabbed his sheath, wrapping the belt around his waist to allow his sword to softly bump his side. After the bandages were readjusted to make certain they were firm, the ancient warrior walked back into the open, his right hand reaching across to grab the leather handle. In a single, swift motion the reaper drew his broad sword, hefting the weight with ease. Once it was firmly in his hand, he stood tall as he got into position before motioning with his sword for Vashti to begin as he adjusted himself into a defensive position to start.
