Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Christina refrained from refusing the search, it was expected since Emmerson was here and he was a lieutenant, unaware that his sister was the master mind behind the search in the first place. Thankfully she hadn't been armed so Rudy's search would come back empty. She would nod her head, accepting his apology without making a comment. As long as she didn't make a scene, she would be just fine. Since she was alone, she took this time to try and ignore everybody in the room so that she could try and see if hearing Emmerson was possible in here. It would be rather difficult but not impossible thanks to the training she got when she first became an assassin. It felt like eyes were on her but the room was full of people, so it was highly possible a person was glancing in her direction instead of staring. Of course within a few minutes she found herself glancing around the room, noticing the girl in the plaid blue dress.
If she is watching me, I need to act innocent. My option is to look away or wave her over, which should I do? She thought to herself, raising her hand to her forehead to rub it as if she had a headache. I really shouldn't have come tonight. She thought to herself, debating on how she would excuse herself from this party. Too bad for her, the butler had left so she wasn't able to ask him where the bathroom was at so that she could rinse her face. She lowered her hand when she heard shouting coming from nearby her. They weren't completely close because there were plenty of people between them but that name, she knew that name. It was the name of the guy she had been wanting to see that she had caught smoking just prior to entering the building. She tried focusing on the conversation, hearing only bits and pieces until finally she heard his voice yelling out a woman's name.
She felt somewhat hurt, it wasn't like she could call dibs on him but she felt a great need to do so anyway. Payback for him kissing her back and for having another woman when he seemed to like her back she found herself moving towards a crowd of people. "Emmerson Halgan has a girl friend." She whispered, allowing it to sink in before going to a few more groups to whisper the same line, counting on him hearing it sooner or later. With having dealt with spreading the rumor she hadn't noticed the guy until it was too late, his sheet had been removed and he had covered his face to turn towards the door to leave. She wasn't sure why but she felt bad for him, he just seemed like too nice of a guy that it was easy to pity him. I need to figure out where that butler went, I want to find the bathroom... She thought to herself. She knew that girl was likely watching her but she didn't want to focus on her, she was too busy trying to focus on finding the butler from earlier.
she would of felt bad had she only come here to eat. the snacks were not only pretty too look at, but they were quite delicious as well. thankfully she had found someone to talk with. well, someone found her. it was even more exciting when she discovered it was the hostess. after answering a couple of her questions danika had asked some in return.
she nodded at her response. danika enjoyed the arts. though she was neither talented nor the crafty type. that wasn't to say that she didn't attempt some small projects. she laughed softly."well, everything turned out lovely."
no sooner had she introduced herself to rosa that she gained a nickname. she smiled at the variation of her name. the most common was dani. that was fine with her, she found it cute. she wasn't joking when rosa said she would be referring to her as dee dee. no sooner had rosa spotted the lieutenant that the introductions had began once more. danika smiled at her enthusiasm."emmie?"she repeated."that's cute and yes of course sir. i mean emmet."
she was surprised at rosa's next statement. clearly she wasn't the only one. she simply nodded, not really sure as to what she could say or should say. to each their own. thankfully a distraction appeared. the commotion that was caused, she was positive everyone was staring at the poor kid. she kept quiet as rosa mentioned knowing the poor boy. it probably wasn't helping that all eyes were on him.
the conversations shifted once more. that's why danika had decided to come. just in case there was any trouble. though she hoped there wouldn't be. she glanced around the room. though her attention was soon brought back to rosa and her question."magic no. that would be fun though. telekinesis is my ability."she said with a nod.
There goes her most convenient means of reconnaissance, as easily replaceable as he may be. Admittedly, Rosa anticipated such an outcome since it did take some considerable persuasion and manipulation on her part just to convince Posty to even attend this overtly public gathering. Nevertheless, Rosa was quite certain she took extra measures in ensuring his bullies went uninvited. Such a fiasco should have taken place at a later time yet the people of Lorsette truly are a work of art, harassing a total stranger simply for the kick of it. Seriously, the boorish behaviours of some of these people are basically providing fuel for Rosa's agenda. Watching these lowly imbeciles literally ensnaring themselves filled Rosa with glee, their ignorance shall be her stepping stones. Capitalizing on the sheer idiocy of the masses was something the sly demon excelled in after all.
Possessing another tall individual as a proxy scout was not even necessary for Rosa to take note of the small girl with the grandiose attire from earlier, chuckling to her heart's content. That brat has inadvertently marked herself as a perfect means of distraction. On another note, Christina actually had the gall to whisper Emmet's name in a discernible attempt at diverting attention away from her. As mildly infuriating Christina's tactics were to Rosa, it did disclose the AP assassin's prior knowledge of Emmerson Halogan's full name. The very fact that she opted to used his name insinuated a possible ulterior motive. The probability of her targeting Emmet is now higher than ever, especially considering her decision to infiltrate Emmet's place of residence... This endeavour might just become a more... personal matter should that be the case. By the time the gossip and hearsay spread to a small group of party-goers near Christina, Rosa's consciousness had already shifted from the 'riot masked girl', now looking around confusedly, to one of her other 'friends'. She knew better than to underestimate a skilled assassin's perception skills.
In addition to the already favourable circumstances provided to her, it then came to Rosa'sattention that Danika actually possessed the gift of telekinesis. It was just opportunity after opportunity tonight for Rosa. The demon girl merely giggled at Emmet's response to her tongue-in-cheek accusation, finally capturing Emmet's full attention. "Ah now that's a shout worthy of a TRS lieutenant, also dont'cha worry Dee Dee, the only green stuff Emmie's smokin' here is Tobacco... wait is that even green or brown? not sure..." she jokingly commented before once again helping herself to a mouthful of the crunchy, sweetened apple. Whilst chewing heartily, she temporarily diverted her attention to the gothic lolita blondie who suddenly appeared nearby, still giggling rather distastefully at Posty's misfortune.
...Where are her parents?...
Sudden transmissions of thought would have resounded within those currently looking at the girl. Before long, a higher than average number of disappointed eyes were now staring at the girl. Rosa shall simply observe how the little girl will react for now. "Wow that's super dope, so like, ya can move stuff with just your mind and stuff?" Rosa asked Danika immediately after swallowing. In the meantime, Rosa supposed that she could aid in the proliferation of Christina's little 'diversion' and eventually spin it to her advantage...
... The TRS lieutenant is on a date?...
More transmissions along those lines would invade the thoughts of those managing to overhear the other gossipmongers. Those weak-willed enough, Rosa managed to persuade enough via mild possession. Teenagers and other TRS members were particularly susceptible to voicing their thoughts out. Before long, the steady string of baseless and childish rumours disseminated through the minds of the childish, bored, interested and spiteful alike. Rosa surveyed the nearby throng of passers-by, casually chatting to one another, only stopping upon glancing over to Rosa and company. "Gee Emmie, lotsa people sure are givin' you and Dee Dee here a good peek eh?" Rosa remarked in a rather curious manner, fixing her mask in place as she does so.
The stage was still in the process of being set and in each passing second, more and more contingencies and routes opened up for Rosa's game. What was supposed to be but a mere debut to her PR campaign against her enemies also became her most opportune chance to finally rid Lorsette of the so-called "Ice Queen". As a seemingly inquisitive looking Rosa blankly stared at both Emmet and Danika, she concurrently propagated subliminal messages via possession from one individual to the next. Likewise, she exploited her high school posse of misfits as her own willing and adoring followers, free for her to possess entirely at a moment's notice. Everywhere Christina would have went, another set of young teenage eyes would have been eyeing in her general direction as Rosa shifted from one misfit to the next. In time, however, Bernadette, Rosa and Emmet's mother can already be seen by the railing of the 2nd floor, supervising the masked mechanical technicians for Rosa's upcoming speech.

- LEt the games resume! as always, anyone with any questions is free to pm me in discord.
She's not so bored anymore, the events that have transpired filling her with overwhelming joy. She's enjoying herself too much in this party, something she doesn't expect herself to be feeling, but that's just that. She picks up a candy apple that immediately fills her tongue, invading her taste buds. Extraordinarily sweet, she thinks. Admittedly, she hasn't tasted anything like it before. Adults in parties from her time -- most notably her parents -- had strictly forbidden sweets, always wanting for their children to have healthy teeth. It's not to say this is her first time tasting a candy apple, but such is always a rare time for her to eat one.
[break][break]Eyes are on her, but who was she to care? For some, the stares of the people all writ with disappointment may be unnerving, eerie, even. But Selina simply looks at them haughtily, arrogant blue eyes hidden in her mask. "What are you all looking at?" The question comes out of her mouth rather casually, which surprises some of the guests, while some are looking at her with more slight irritation. But she continues to run her mouth, unmindful of the stares she has received. "Oh, me, laughing? Honestly, that was nothing... I was just too happy with myself, that's all." She blinks innocently at them, but people can see through her ruse and she's fine with that.
[break][break]But enough of the stares... she wants to get some fresh air. The population of the ballroom is suffocating her already (which makes absolutely no sense since she's already dead, but apparently she can still smell it, to her disappointment). With one more candy apple in hand, she storms off into the right hallway, where she recognizes there are less more people than from where she came from. After a few more steps, she slows down, and admires the beauty of the decorations hanging on every wall.
[break][break]While sight-seeing, she takes the time to wonder about the white-haired woman she saw sneaking in and out of the building earlier. Yes, she had been familiar... the Ice Queen, Christina Johnson, was it...? She's heard so much, yet has never gotten the time to personally meet with her. Maybe now is that time... oh, Selina just simply could not wait to wreak havoc! She skips along the hallway, the possibilities of meeting with fellow AP members filling her mind. If only there were more to unravel in Miss Rosalynn Halogan's little castle...
[attr="class","statsub"] merely one amidst millions trying to help.
[attr="class","stattext"]Chatter amidst the party-goers was unavoidable background noise for Emmerson as he remained near his younger sister. Occasionally, he listened to the variety of topics being discussed, impart for protection purposes and because of his curiosities about if his assumptions were correct. Their kiss shared many months ago maintained a desire to speak to the white-haired woman again. The playful manner she teased him during the Valentine's Day Dance intrigued him meanwhile the kiss they shared thoroughly flustered him. She was a flirtatious one when pursued by the TRS, but yet, there was something else about the white-haired enchantress. Endearing, oddly pleasant and unexpectedly enjoyable to spend time with, they were traits Emmet never expected of Assembly soldiers. Usually, the enemy forces were preoccupied attempting to kill him during their battles. It was the expected consequence of fighting back and trying to conquer their forces. Those surveys of the immediate area displayed no evidence of Christina's presence, much to his displeasure, however, he supposed it was for the best. A large manor filled with TRS affiliates, hunters of his unit, was a dangerous location for an Assembly soldier.
[break][break]
A small smile remained at Emmet's face as the infamous nickname 'Emmie' was complimented. The nickname created by his younger sister was always welcomed, especially since Rosalynn appeared to adore calling him 'Emmie'. A nod of acknowledgement was given to the compliment, the lieutenant uncertain of what he could say in response to the name he did not create. Alas, Rosalynn's desires to playfully tease him forced fixation on the current conversation between the pair of girls and himself. Otherwise, he risked his younger sister mischievous innocence could potentially embarrass him. The male demon assumed the younger demon was quite pleased with her playful teasing, they were siblings after all. Teasing comments were naturally shared between the pair, both growing together and adjusting to one another's personalities. A soft sighed escaped his lips at Rosalynn's response, relieved his shout of denial over the appalling accusation worked. Alas, the amused giggles proved his younger sister's plan was also successful, however, he spoke nothing more on the subject. Promptly, his eyes returned to the moving crowd, partially searching for Christina, but also observing for problems.
[break][break]
A child was being stared at because of a previous situation involving a tall boy fleeing the manor. There was a soft frown on Emmet's face, however, he merely glanced away to observe the remainder of the interior. The rumours amidst the crowd were unheard by the male demon who proceeded to conduct a quick survey of the area, although, when Rosa pointed out the curious peeks, realization dawned. Red touched Emmet's cheeks, hidden by the elaborate lion's mask. Words were absent from the nobleman's mind, the fake news undoubtedly being considered scandalous considering this would be the "first love" since his wife's unexpected passing. People could be nosy beings, an obnoxious trait when propaganda would spread similar to a wildfire. A closed hand arrived at his mouth as he awkwardly coughed, uncertain of what response to provide.
[break][break]
"Well... that's awkward," he murmured.
[break][break]
Disputed claims would arrive later, once the nobleman figured out the wording. Matters of the heart were not Emmet's strong suit, even when they involved allegations of who he was dating. Thus, he resigned himself to silence despite knowing that his hunters would inquire about his date. Already, it was confirmed Emmet would blush and deny their statements about having a date that evening. Predictable were his responses to romantic notions or rumours involving around his crushes, and it was oftentimes a deep blush followed by an awkwardly stated denial. Alas, he pondered the possible questions, fearing the possibility of somebody interrogating him about who he genuinely liked, solely because of the truth. While his feelings were mixed about the situation, he knew the woman he liked had long, white locks and was among the most wanted in the TRS.
Christina couldn't seem to find the butler to ask where the bathroom would be in this place. Though she hadn't missed the random eyes looking in her direction. Perhaps it was just her being paranoid but as far as she was aware it was the only reason she had lived as long as she had. Once more a thought had crossed her mind, seeing as Emmerson had given her special attention since she had attacked the TRS, she figured there was no harm in return the favor. She made sure the ones that would hear her comment were those that weren't looking in her direction, not caring if they heard the message sooner or later but hopefully by the time they heard it the message would be somewhat messed up. "Emmerson Halgan, you know smoking is bad for you, consider quitting." She would have that first message send off before whispering to another group of people the rest of it.
"Surprised I haven't found you in this crowd full of people since you should have smoke odor. Shall your paperwork be your cigarettes next victim?" She whispers, of course finding him had been a lie, she knew exactly where he was at because she had heard him. What are the chances he'll figure out it came from me? Not in this outfit but I mean Ice Queen. She thought to herself, waiting a few minutes for both comments to spread, counting on it reaching Emmerson sooner or later. Finally she sees another servant, "Excuse me, can you tell me with the bathroom is?" She would ask, upon being directed, she would take the time to walk over there before slipping inside. She would then lock the bathroom door behind her, as is custom when one is making it seem like they are really in process of using it. She then looks in the mirror, seeing her own reflection before creating some ice in her hand, with the tip sharp she carefully cut along her wrist, hoping that he'd be able to feel it.
Something she had picked up on during their last fight, each time one got hurt, or at least when she hurt him, she found that she felt it too, so she was counting on returning that favor. It won't be long before he figures out I'm here and well, doing this on purpose. She thought to herself, as she reached for toilet paper to clean her cut off. She would then use the frozen ice on her sour wrist as to make it feel numb before flushing the toilet, as an excuse to make it appear as if she had been using it the whole time. Once the ice is melted completely she would rinse her hands off before opening the bathroom door to exit. My next game plan is getting out of here. I do't have an assignment and I feel rather bored because I haven't seen his company. She thought to herself, pulled from her thoughts when she noticed Selina was walking straight towards her. She stopped walking, curious on this outcome.
danika finished off the remainder of her snacks while they conversed. she would have to make a note of getting something more to drink. though she didn't want to be rude and just walk away. she laughed softly at rosa's words. she probably should of kept quiet it, but the words had slipped out."i'm pretty sure tobacco is brown, once its dry and such."she shrugged slightly. she really wasn't too familiar with it. her father had smoked for but not for too long thankfully. soon their attention was brought back to the conversation at hand. which was basically whatever rosa wanted to talk about. not that was a bad thing. danika welcomed it. she wasn't sure what to talk about. the last thing wanted was to bore them.
danika smiled and shook her head."it's alright. i mean if i could have picked my ability, perhaps it could be something that would be more helpful."it really wasn't a question that she spent time thinking about."to answer your question yes i can move things with my mind."she laughed softly.
had she been taking a drink she probably would of choked. the comment had clearly surprised her."what..? why?"she really wasn't asking anyone in particular. she was trying to wrap her head around it. first it had been that blonde girl calling all the attention to herself and now it was them? she couldn't understand why? clearly rosa and emmet were well known people here, but her? she wasn't a nobody. she liked to stay under that radar. the less people knew about her the better. it wasn't that she had anything in particular to hide, but being in the spotlight was something danika was not a fan of.
being in the spotlight could only bring trouble. she wanted nothing of the sort. a quiet night out was all she had been expecting.
Not a glance was necessary for both Emmerson and Danika to take heed of the contrived ambience borne out of the crowd's apparent gossip-mongering. Rosa might have Northcote Parkinson to thank for his law of triviality, these ignorant masses truly do have a predilection for frivolous matters. Whilst the party-goers concerned themselves with small talk and casual slander, Rosa was stealthily surveying a notorious terrorist who managed to infiltrate this high-security manor with ease. She surveyed every course of action Christina took via her many proxies and sentries she arbitrarily possessed. She now had concrete evidence of Christina spying over her brother for an undetermined amount of time, for that she will make her pay dearly. Although Emmet is a well-known smoker, the fact that this AP intruder alluded on several occasions a peculiar engrossment towards him is quite alarming for Rosa.
From Rosa's perspective, she might have to consider Christina's ability to disseminate information so easily through crowds. Throughout her short years analyzing the average person's psyche, she did find it rather peculiar how strikingly gullible this crowd turned out to be, readily believing the murmurs of a relative stranger. Perhaps these hoi-polloi are much more ignorant and simpleminded than she initially thought. Either way, Rosa let the magic bullet theory run its course and actually aided in propagating Christina's message. This also proved Rosa's initial hypothesis that dissociative anonymity is not entirely confined to cyberspace as a mask is apparently all that is required for people to break free from social restraints. As if cascading down a waterfall of data, Rosa skillfully allowed Christina's "plan" to fester to a point where it once again reaches the ears of Emmet himself. Rosa is essentially ensuring her dominance over the theoretical playing field, this will be made clear soon enough.
At this point, Rosa was quite convinced that if the Ice Queen had managed to infiltrate this public open event, it is only reasonable that she was not the the only AP member present inside the manor. Indeed, an ancient and wealthy noble family inviting the public regardless of social background to one of their manors? Everyone is probably oblivious to the sheer number of strings the young noble girl had to pull and switch to even be granted the honour of hosting the annual event. In its years of stagnation, the Halogan family bureaucracy has basically degenerated into a convoluted web of dishonesty and hypocrisy. It is almost guaranteed that the AP would at least undertake reconnaissance missions against one of the most controversial groups in Lorsette city, it would be nigh inconceivable for them not to capitalize on an opportunity such as this. With everyone's face concealed, extensive TRS security and confirmed AP presence within the area, it was but a matter of time before chaos ensues... All according to plan…
The AP could detonate every single structure within the Halogan estate for all Rosa cares. They could freely massacre every single participant in this public event and it would still align with Rosa's objectives. In the fleeting moments in which the young demon's consciousness shifted between each of her insignificant pawns, she exhaustively paid heed to every major player in this theatre. The Ice Queen, Emmet, Danika, the countless cameras, this is quite literally a once in a lifetime opportunity for Rosa to engrave her voice upon the seemingly hollow heads of Lorsette's brainless masses. Before long, Christina so foolishly isolated herself in the washroom. Taking this into account, Rosa wasted no time executing her hastily concocted plan. Rosa merely grinned as usual, her hazel-amber eyes underneath the avian mask staring at Danika. "Really? that's like, super rad! Ya could literally 'control the force' and stuff-"
Rosa's comment was suddenly interrupted by a nearby stranger, who also happened to be once of Rosa's classmates, tripping over and spilling the contents of her milkshake at Danika's dress. Of course, Rosa actually possessed the said girl. "Woooah there!, Fifi is that you?!" Rosa casually asked as she knelt down and promptly helped her trusty minion to her feet. "Dang girl, ya should really get some sleep." Rosa remarked shortly before eyeing Danika's black dress, now stained with liquid, cream and colourful sprinkles. "Aww gee whiz, Dee Dee your dress!, oh no no no we can't have that." immediately afterwards, Rosa gently grabbed Danika's hand. "Come now, ya should like, get that cleaned up. Emmie I'll just show Dee Dee here the way to the old W.C. kay?" Rosa quickly declared before pulling Danika along just as the all eyes seemingly converged on both of them passing through the dense throng of bodies and masks. In time, the bathroom door came into sight.
The young demon had to hurry before Christina proceeds to execute whatever plan she has in store. Nevertheless, one thing remained certain. Regardless of the outcome, Rosa will ensure that the people of Lorsette will soon learn the errors of their erratic ways and feast their eyes upon their real 'enemies' just as initially planned. As for Christina's fate, it is a more or less a 'personal' matter for Rosa. Whether or not Danika ends up becoming the keeper or sacrifice matters not in this scenario, Emmet will be deemed the hero and the Ice Queen shall regret having supposedly gone after him. Rosa can hardly wait to see the expression on the Ice Queen's face as Emmet puts her to justice!
"Over there, make sure ya clean up real good kay Dee Dee?" Rosa asserted while pointing towards the washroom. "Just wait over there, the bathroom's like reeeeally big with like, lotsa stalls and stuff. I believe it should be open, Rosie here'll get somethin' for ya!" in no time, Rosa had already gone off before Danika even has a chance to even utter any coherent. In order to accommodate for the Halogan family's large size and their numerous servants, the restroom is practically designed as one would expect a high class public bathroom. However, Rosa is also cognizant to Christina having locked the door prior, leaving her no choice but to improvise. The TRS girl seemed easy enough to possess, at least to the extent of implanting thoughts and intent. Just as Rosa intended, a small congregation of masked individuals from a distance began eyeing Danika from head to toe.
What are they looking at... I need to get inside fast!...
From what Rosa had noticed from her relatively brief interaction with Danika, she was the sort to cave under pressure easily. She transmitted her message with the intent of compelling Danika to utilize her powers to get inside and in the process, come into contact with the notorious Ice Queen. In the meanwhile, Rosa is briskly walking her way back towards Emmet in anticipation of the mayhem about to emanate from this supposedly coincidental exchange. Concurrently, Rosa may have to assign a considerable portion of her consciousness in partly possessing Danika's senses, just in case Christina tries anything funny.
The blonde spirit walks along the halls with anticipation painting her face, trodding along and still wearing the black bridal dress. She could feel the scathing eyes of people passing her by, possibly still quite annoyed at her from the earlier commotion. But Selina remains unfazed, grinning slyly at the complete strangers and taking a look around without much care in the world. Perhaps she should just make her exit and return home... even though she would very much like to meet the hostess, Rosa, or the Ice Queen, Christina Johnson. Nothing could be as boring as not having her expectations come true-
[break][break]But Fate plays with her; as she finds herself walking toward a young woman with white hair -- she did not even know she existed until now -- she is forced to halt from her walking. Selina, a few meters away from the woman, staring her up and down. Selina is not sure why, but she feels as though she knows this woman, or is at least familiar with her face... the white hair seems to take it away. After all, one of the people she is dying to interact with has been described by civilians as a white haired beauty... and, after all, Ice Queens are associated with white...
[break][break]A jovial smile graces her features as she strides a little closer towards the woman, looking at her with curious, blue eyes. "Have I... met you before, Lady?" She asks the young woman, because it's not safe to assume a person's identity. She would probably bow her head in shame if it turns out she was wrong of her assumptions, but her pride won't take it lightly and it would not allow her to say sorry. "You seem very, very familiar... what was your name again? Chrissy...? Oh, oh, or... Icy? Just what was it..."
[break][break]In this situation, it's probably best that she assume someone's identity, because after all, Selina is a persistent girl who desperately wants to know if she's correct or not. And it's safe to assume that in front of her is a colleague from the Assembly, one of the most feared faces, she has heard. But feared or not, Selina hopes she is right; that this is the real Ice Queen, and not just a person she has mistaken for one.
[attr="class","statsub"] merely one amidst millions trying to help.
[attr="class","stattext"] Matters of the heart or romantic implications were never easily handled by Emmet. Despite his so-called "tainted" noble blood, the demon possessed a respectful, albeit, controversial background... however... it lacked the expected lessons of courting and furthermore, his mother's protective nature made him somewhat of a sheltered child. Situations that manifested embarrassment or hinted at love always created an awkward, nervousness to transcend over his mind. Marina always teased him about, a smiling face framed by straight black locks as she giggled.
[break][break]
Emmet, we're married and you still get a little red if I so much as kiss your cheek?
[break][break]
Phrases from his deceased wife were imprinted in her mind, those sweet words as she playfully flirted and teased. It never bothered him, oftentimes making him smile. Infectious laughter would always fill the air between them during those playful moments. A majority of memories retained from their relationship were pleasant, however, whenever they surfaced a sad smile would breach his lips. The demonic nobleman kept his eyes away from the crowd, awkwardness consuming him, alas, there were no sorrowful smiles in response to the memory of his marriage.
[break][break]
There was merely an awkward frown accompanied by the subtle redness to his face. The present circumstance was ill-favoured for Emmet, his desire to disappear increasing with every second. Fortunately, the lion mask obscured the nobleman's face, alas, it brought hardly a sense of comfort. Floor tiles were fixated on in the dark-haired man's bashfulness as he remained silent, uncertain how to dispel those baseless rumours. Part of him refused to search for a different lover, alas, a lingering name drifted through his head...
[break][break]
Christina Johnson, the white-haired woman who somehow managed to thoroughly capture his attention could easily get his heart beating hard. There was something between them, however, Emmet remained skeptical... His occupation was to capture Assembly members, lock them up and question them in hopes of saving the innocent. Unfortunately, he failed in capturing Christina under many circumstances, but the Valentine's Day Dance stood out from the rest. Their sudden closeness because of a broken radio followed by her plush lips brushing against his.
[break][break]
Only moments later did a changed messaged reached his ears, the nobleman glancing at the crowd. It specifically mentioned his nasty smoking habit, going lengths to state he should consider quitting. Then another thing was mentioned, a clue to somebody hiding amidst the crowded room. Eyes widened, the umbra-skinned man's thoughts shifting to Christina. Was she truly here? Only moments later did a painful sensation enter his wrist, Emmet flinching and grabbing it, slowly lowering the cuff of his uniform, however, nothing was there.
[break][break]
When somebody stumbled and spilled a milkshake on Danika, the demon's attention returned briefly. As expected of a hostess, Rosalynn offered to take Danika to the washroom to clean her milkshake-covered dress, however, as Rosa stated her departure, a decision was made.
[break][break]
"Okay, I should get back to work. I'll meet up with you later, Rosa," Emmet answered with a faked smile.
[break][break]
Only moments later, the dark-haired demon left the quiet area, surveying the crowd briefly. A soft sigh escaped the lieutenant's lips upon failing to see those gorgeous white locks amidst the crowd. A frown touched his lips, the nobleman heading to the hallways, specifically the ones where guests could enter freely. The demon genuinely believed Christina was still on the premise. Somewhere inside these walls was the woman who captured his attention, the person who he wished to converse with again for an unknown reason.
[break][break]
Inside, something insisted he spoke with Christina and potentially smooth over the events which occurred during Valentine's Day... when he stated their kiss was wrong. Nothing about it felt wrong per se, but rather, the nobleman knew everything about the instance was forbidden. They were on opposite sides of this nasty war, expected to fight, not fraternize when possible. Alas, Emmet craved the white-haired woman's attention, something inside insisting on some magical reason for those peculiar desires.
[break][break]
Silently, the dark-haired man walked down those corridors, arms at his side while his yellow eyes flitted around, searching for the familiar face he sought. Somewhere around the Halloween party lurked a familiar woman with white hair and dazzling purple eyes, however, he needed to discover where.
Christina watched as Selina continued walking towards her until they stood across from one another. She listened as the question was asked, a small smirk formed on her face, of course being hidden underneath her mask that she sorta wished that she could remove, however it would ruin her plans in avoiding Emmerson at all costs. "I've met a lot of people." She answered in return, planning on allowing Selina to think what she would like, since she didn't want to give away that she was AP. A small frown had formed on her face when Selina had mentioned her being familiar before further saying possible alias'. "Chris." She corrected, unsure on if she wanted to allow everybody here to know that she was the Ice Queen or not. Now lets see, my options are to allow her to know that I'm the Ice Queen or to play as if we don't know each other. Options, options... She thought to herself, glancing around, unaware that Emmerson had excused himself and was wandering around.
In the middle of looking around she had noticed him, it had surprised her somewhat that he wasn't with the group as he had been earlier. Where is that woman that he had been with earlier? She thought to herself, as she remained in her spot. Slowly she would look back towards Selina, raising her hand to her mouth, before giggling, wishing for Emmerson to hear her. "Oh dear.... is that the smoke odor from earlier." She commented, of course knowing all about the gossip because she had been the one to spread it. "Alright, time for me to go." She whispered to Selina, knowing if Emmerson wasn't headed towards her before, he likely would be now.
danika laughed softly at rosa's words. controlling the force, what a way to describe it. she didn't have a chance to comment when she instantly felt cold. it had happened rather suddenly. how lucky was she. rosa helped the poor girl that had tripped and spilled her icy treat all over danika. she kind of just stood there a bit dumbfounded. she should of just stayed home and this probably wouldn't of happened. plus had she spilled any ice cream on herself she would be home and could change.
danika managed a small smile and shook her head. it was fine, now she didn't need an excuse to leave."it's alright, it will wash out."even if it didn't it wasn't like danika wore dresses all to often. she was just lucky she had this in the back of her closet. though rosa had different plans as she grabbed danika's hand and began to lead her to the nearest bathroom.
the more she thought about it the more she wished she had stayed home. she looked down as rosa lead the way. she nodded at rosa's words as she watched her leave to go get something. it's not like she was expecting her to help. no, it was better if she was by herself. she slowly made her way over, hoping it wasn't locked. why would it be locked? unless it wasn't suppose to be open. she was just attracting all sorts of luck tonight. she went to open the door and to her disbelief it didn't open. rosa did say she would be coming back, maybe she had a key or something to open the door with. should she wait or just head out and get cleaned up at home?
she looked around and couldn't help like people were watching her. surely this little spill had been an isolated incident. maybe she attracted stares as she was being lead towards the bathroom. she looked at her feet. it didn't matter accidents happened all the time. though this time it was making her very self-conscious. perhaps it was because she was surrounded by people she wasn't familiar with. she wasn't sure why now she was starting to feel a bit anxious. even if she wasn't looking at the people, she still felt like they were staring at her. she turned to face the door once more, trying to get it to open. why would someone lock the door? she took a breath as she moved her mask so she could get a better look at the door knob. it seemed like a simply enough lock. why was she standing her wasting time. she could of just left. using her other ability that she hadn't mentioned to rosa. it wasn't intentional, she just wasn't in the habit of telling people unless they asked.
taking another breath she focused her attention on the gears and with her mind she started to see them move. within a few seconds the door should become unlocked and she could rush inside and away from the judgemental stares of the other guests.
A guessing game is such a fun activity and Selina refuses to miss the chance to play it, at least once. She giggles as the young woman in front of her corrects her, stating that her name is merely a "Chris" and nothing else. Well, she finds that hard to believe. An average person would say that Chris is nothing more than a young woman if one were to traverse the streets, but Selina is no mere individual. She is one with the Assembly, and she believes perfectly well that the woman in front of her is a member as well...
[break][break]Still, she holds back to pointing this out; another giggle escapes her lips as she suppresses the need to let this woman open up to her true identity. "Oh, just Chris? Is that all?"
[break][break]She falls silent once Chris points out a 'smoke odor'; it makes her turn around to sniff the air around her. Indeed, someone seems to be smoking along these hallways, though she is not sure who it is since the only people she'd seen in this hallway is herself and the white-haired woman. She whips her head abruptly when Chris whispers to her an intention to leave. Her blue eyes widen as she walks quickly towards Chris.
[break][break]"Wait! Let me come with you!" She exclaims, holding out her hands. "I want get out of this house, too. It's been boring having no one here to talk to." She adds with a pout.
[attr="class","statsub"] merely one amidst millions trying to help.
[attr="class","stattext"]Silently, Emmet ventured the hallways of Halogan Manor, haunted by old memories and thoughts of a white-haired woman who was almost ghost-like in nature. Memories of a previous spouse managed to shift to those of Christina, the Ice Queen, someone who escaped his grasp several times. One moment she would be a mere few steps in front of him, the next, gone as though she vanished like a spectre. The white-haired Assembly soldier was capable of disappearing without a trace, becoming untraceable in a matter of seconds from her swift disappearances.

As he wandered the vacant hallways throughout the remainder of the manor, Emmet struggled with his thoughts. His escape from the primary ballroom for the party was inspired by his unwillingness to admit he lacked the desire for a love interest to replace his sweet Marina. Yet, other emotions accompanied those bittersweet thoughts of seeking a new individual to spend his life with. An unknown force seemingly laid claim to the lieutenant's heart, pulling him towards conclusions and actions he never dreamed possible...

And... prompting him to kiss her on Valentine's Eve... The softest hue of red brushed his cheeks, painting them subtly as he wandered through his home. A deep breath was sucked into the depths of his lungs, held there before a gradual release of air. There was no time for those thoughts now, there were more pressing matters. Rosalynn's party required tending to, specifically the security aspect of it and that was among his duties. Thus, he focused, rounding the corner back towards the boardroom, where the washrooms were.
[break][break]
There he heard it, the familiar sound of her voice as smoke was mentioned. The demon's brilliant yellow eyes widened as realization dawned. Down the hallway was the spectre herself, Christina Johnson. The woman he divulged time into searching for stood down the hallway...
[break][break]
"So you did come," he mumbled.
[break][break]
The demon them hurred forward, intending on arresting Chris and perhaps the mysterious blonde beside her.
Christina can't help but smile at Selina. "That is correct." She answered her in return, "Just till I know for a fact we've met before and frankly I don't care to prove that here." She whispered, admitting that some things should be left as vague when they weren't at HQ. She then mentioned the comment about a smoke odor, believing Emmerson to be on his way or at the very least another person that smoked just as much as him but she was positive that was him. She then whispers for it to be time for her to go, hearing Selina's comment earned her a frown. Well now you've done it. She thought to herself before turning around to face Emmerson. "If we've met before, you'll have to excuse me for not choosing to share this one." She whispered to Selina, knowing if she were AP, she'd likely get the hint that Emmerson was hers. "Emmerson, the nerve of you to come down here interrupting our conversation." She declared, clearly displeased with his action. She'd then back up, hoping to bump into Selina if she hadn't left just yet.
"This party is a real bore, so I'm leaving now." She answered, raising a hand in the hand she yawned before turning to rush out to make her exit, expecting Selina to be ahead of her. Whether or not they managed to exit together or not made no difference to her, she just knew that Emmerson would likely chase after her, giving Selina plenty of chances to get away.
