justus cirwennan there is no justice in war, only loss and death. general info
appearance Justus is known for her long lustrous blonde tresses crowning her and trailing after her like a veil; every strand holds a great deal of luster and healthiness, signifying the great care placed upon them. Her hair glimmer with a transient glow, as though her halo is not needed to make her hair glow with an air of solemnity and utmost grace. Alongside her hair, she's known for her scarlet red eyes that can hold both sharpness and gentleness at the same time; her eyes are said to see through the lies and troubles of individuals, allowing her to help them. And many have once stated that her eyes are never clouded with doubt due to her belief and just nature. In an essence, Justus embodies the picture perfect appearance of an angel. Or so, those are the words of those that used to look up to Justus. While Justus may have a flowing blonde hair, her hair does not actually shimmer and glow, and simply seems like it due to the care that she gives to her hair and her general hygiene. Her eyes, while indeed scarlet and bright, cannot see through lies and troubles. And contrary to popular belief, there was once a time when her eyes dimmed in light and glossed over out of doubt; such time was when she fought in the war and started to question the justice present in it. Thanks to her healthy lifestyle, Justus has a great physique; her body has muscles in the right places, allowing for bursts of speed and feats of strength. She has fair and unblemished skin, perhaps both due to the innate beauty that being an angel gives a person or perhaps due to her own hygienic lifestyle. Despite having fought in a war, she has no scars present on her body. As for clothing, Justus tends to wear a wide variety of clothing, albeit most of them leans towards elegant but old-fashioned clothing. She tends to wear a dress of various colors and designs, while seldom (nearly not at all unless forced) wearing pants or anything modernized. Just like every angel, Justus has the capacity of manifesting a pair of wings and a halo. Her wings have beautiful white feathers and glows slightly with a holy and warm light. Her halo is an immensely bright ring of holiness that manifests just above her head, she usually refrains from conjuring the both of them unless in combat with an evildoer or a terror, or whenever she uses her wings for convenient travelling. personality

Her usage of her Light Manipulation is highly specific to her own way of fighting, and it can sometimes be considered surprising by most.
Wing Manifestation - Justus, as an angel, has the capabilities of manifesting a pair of beautiful wings and making use of them. These wings are corporeal and can be affected through touch, allowing individuals to forcefully remove them from Justus' back. In doing so, rest is needed before she can manifest them again.
Healing - Justus has the capabilities of bathing individuals in a holy glimmer to steadily fix and heal their wounds. It is a privilege given to her as an angel; however, it is only effective on living beings rendering it useless (or perhaps even harmful) to the undead. Due to its light property, it is useless, if not outright harmful, to the denizens of Hell.
Other Angelic Powers: The numerous other angelic abilities that Justus has access to have seen little-to-no use, leading to the stagnation of her control over them and overall their lack of usage and presence in her career and history . As a result, they remain hidden away, in a sense. backstory Angels, benevolent beings created by the holy grace of Akari. Justus Cirwennan was one of those angels, she was born in the Heavens-- back when the gate connecting it to the Earth remained open. Given the name 'Justus', she was meant to personify the word 'justice' itself, and she did. During her youth, she was strictly taught by her family as to what justice meant. Discipline and manners were her key traits, leading to the growth of a well-mannered angel that became a figure that most looked up to. It was no lie that she was popular due to her refined grace, the fact that she had been a great angel in her actions made her a well-known figure among her peers. Not only was she disciplined and well-mannered, but her maturity superseded those of her age. Sometimes stern and strict, sometimes forgiving and kind, Justus became an elderly sister figure to her friends and acquaintances alike. They went as far as giving her the nickname of the 'Golden Angel of the Light' due to her lustrous blonde tresses. All was well, until the war struck. Driven by her sense of responsibility and her desire to uphold justice, Justus participated in the war actively. Her belief was that she was fighting for the righteous cause-- that her cause embodied justice itself, and the enemy, the denizens of Hell, were creatures meant to be banished due to Akari's grace. It was no lie that she was a devout angel, one that foolishly and naively believed in the words fed to her. While not particularly skilled during her ripe years, Justus managed to fight well in the battlefield. Her lustrous tresses that crowned her alongside her halo were once known to be the sign of the approaching elderly sister figure were tarnished by infamy. From the 'Golden Angel of the Light' that imparted the sense of joy to those who knew of her, as well as dependency on her advice, to the 'Bloodstained Golden Angel'. While she wasn't immensely skilled with the spear (her choice of weapon), she held enough experience and drive to be capable of diving first into battles and being the last one to leave. Oft times, she'd head to battle in a pristine state, only to return covered in the blood of her enemies with her blonde hair turning scarlet due to the rigorous battles that she participated in. For years, she fought solely to uphold her sense of justice, yet in war, there was no justice-- only loss. In time, she started to question whether war was the proper answer to the dispute between the Gods. For once, she questioned something and no longer blindly followed what others told her. Her justice was no longer justice, but something else. Fear, rather than inspiration, was derived from her whenever she appeared, both from her enemies and her allies. That made her believe that fighting wasn't just. One specific instance that convinced her that there was no justice in war was when she fought in the front lines against a group of demons. She was alone, while there were five demons against her. For all intents and purposes, she was at a disadvantage, and that fact held true. The battle was grueling, and she struggled to hold her ground against the five. Yet her enemies held hearts, rather than the stone cold faces of warriors willing to sacrifice everything. When Justus aimed to stab her spear through a female demon that stumbled, one particular male demon stood in the trajectory of her spear and took the fatal blow for the female. The selfless action made Justus' eyes widen in shock while she questioned internally if what she did was right-- if fighting and killing people with hearts, smiles, memories of their own and dreams was right. If stealing them of their future was something that she should do; she started to question everything, even as she continued to kill the heartbroken enemies that stood in her way. At the end of it, she was once again covered in blood, having killed countless of demons. Guilt started to cripple her, leading to her fearing the front lines more than ever. In truth, she was a step away from turning into a fallen angel, having questioned whether her actions were right. Justus, at that point of time, started having nightmares. She stood alone in her nightmares, and crimson rain drizzled upon her frame. Beneath her were countless of corpses, the demons, vampires and fallen angels that she killed with her own two hands. It took her several months before she recovered from her emotional scar, whereupon she decided to cease fighting in the war in pursuit for the meaning of justice. In doing so, her previously closed eyes opened to revel at the sight in front of her. The war was fought in Earth, a neutral plane that happened to be the bridge between Heaven and Hell. Earth was once a beautiful place in Justus' eyes, it was a thriving place with many smiling faces and happy families. Yet the war robbed not only Heaven and Hell of their joys, friendships and innocence, but also Earth. The once happy families that she saw were crying for their loss, grieving at the deaths of their loved ones. Dead people that were filled with regrets returned to fight and gain revenge. Demons that she killed returned with the vengeful heart of those that struck deals with Thanatos in hopes of striking back at the angel that killed them, in hopes of resuming their battle with the opposing side. Yet Justus no longer fought, her spear that once plunged itself into the flesh of her enemies and bathed in the blood under the name of 'justice' could no longer budge an inch. The light that she once magnificently wielded to utterly eviscerate her foes with had waned into but a gentle light that could do no harm. War was not justice, and she sternly believed that upon seeing the numerous scars that war wrought, upon seeing the countless of loss-- and nary a sign of gain. From there, Justus aimed to convince her colleagues that the war wasn't worth losing everything for, yet she was treated with ridicule. Instead of the smiling faces that she'd see, or even just the fearful expressions her comrades would have upon seeing her blood-covered figure return from the heart of the battlefield, she could only see their disgusted faces and their eyes of pity. It wasn't right, she believed, so she no longer fought. She could no longer fight. Raised with a stern belief in justice and upholding it, Justus was only ever capable of fighting to her utmost because she believed what she did was just. No longer was that the case, resulting in her incapability of fighting. What she did was something that most might consider as treacherous, but she started to use her own abilities to save people regardless of their race or allegiance. Not because it was her justice, but because it was only right to do so. At that point of time, Justus was desperate to see the meaning of justice that she'd ask the people that she saved as to what justice meant to them. Every time an answer was given, she could only find the meaning of justice becoming more vague as time passed by. And then the war ended. At the end of the war, Justus still had no answer, her age grew in number but her angelic powers meant that she'd not age so long as she wanted to remain at a standstill. Under the belief that she was immature still, her body remained with the appearance of a twenty year-old female allowing her to live at an overall healthy and fit condition. The gates to the Heavens and Hell were closed, leaving Justus stranded in Earth. Yet that was how she liked it, she preferred to stay in Earth as she believed that was the place where she'd find the meaning of justice in. It was at that time that Justus started to seek out her previous friends and comrades, the people that she fought with and fought for. While she was ostracized in the army, surely with the war having ended, they'd be beyond their previous inclinations of disagreeing with her. Yet when Justus met with her previous comrades, all she could do was stare-- all she could do was stare at their gravestones, at the faces of the ones that they've left. Sadness took hold of her at that moment, and her firm belief with regards war was strengthened even further. To her, war was a pointless thing that did nothing but steal and steal. There was nothing to gain from it, yet one could lose everything within it. Just as how she lost her innocence and belief in the word 'justice'. Was there even any justice left? That was what Justus wanted to ascertain-- and that was only possible should she find out what the meaning of justice is. Despite her traumatic experiences, Justus remained overall the same in some aspects of her personality. Kind and gentle at times, stern and strict at other times. She remained as the dependable angel that she was previously known for, and she assisted those who needed her assistance without asking for any compensation. It was the least she could do, she believed, to repent for the lives that she have stolen and the dreams that she have ended. Years passed while the world steadily recuperated from the scars that littered the realm. But before the world could fully reinstate itself as a thriving one, a fringe element made itself known in hopes of instilling order through the world. While Justus would normally agree with such belief, the manner in which the fringe element, Zeredah, enforced order was desolate. It was done through force; it left terror and despair in the hearts of many. It was another war, but this time, Justus was no longer willing to stand still and let war tide over the lands. Armed with her copious experience in war, her newfound wisdom and her burning heart fueled with the desire to protect that which held no power to protect themselves, she fought against the terrors to the best of her capabilities. But she was no hunter, or any of the sort. Despite the establishment, of the Terror Response Syndicate (or TRS for short), Justus remained a simple 'vigilante'-esque figure that did not participate in the aforementioned group. Her belief was that there was no need for her to be known for her protection of the innocent and elimination of the terrors. For all intents and purposes, she wanted to remain obscure in her selfless actions. In Justus' own words: '' I do not wish to be recognized for my own deeds, for I have come not to make myself known, but to uphold justice and protect the safety of those who cannot fight. To be rewarded for such deeds might elicit greed and hubris; both do not embody justice. '' And so, Justus fought and fought in search for justice. Yet while an angelic being she may be, she still held a 'human' heart, so to speak. At times, she'd find herself growing weary and having doubts as to whether or not she'd find the meaning of justice after having stained her hands with innocent blood so many times. But those times were sparse, and at the end of those moments, she'd rebound with greater fervor. However, her drive and complete focus on her current task led to several 'defects' in her life. While she was a kind and friendly angel that can speak with just about anyone, she does not have any remaining relationship beyond that of mere acquaintances, many if not all of her close friends have perished due to old age or other causes. Not just that, but she can be highly innocent (or oblivious in crude terms) with regards some matters that may be known to others. Despite her age, there are plenty of things that Justus does not know of, and her wisdom at times might seem obsolete. Currently, Justus lives at a rather posh and old-fashioned 'house' (manor). It used to be the residence of a huge and wealthy family whose heir she coincidentally saved from a terror attack and befriended right after. Now devoid of any of its previous masters, it fell unto Justus' possession, leaving her with a house filled with memories and vast space. Most of the time, she'd lend rooms to people who are in need of a residence. As for jobs, as Justus refrains from joining the TRS, her most prominent way of earning a living is through her job as a 'handyman'. She works odd jobs for individuals who are in need of assistance, while she'd normally not charge for her services, the pressing issue of requiring money to remain alive made her begrudgingly request for money in return for her tasks. misc Theme Song: M2U - Brown Wind Battle Song: ああああ - carnation Theme Song during the War: Position Music - Conquer the Fall Bop. | roleplayer info ☆ NAME Shelpies ☆ RP EXPERIENCE 10yrs ☆ TIMEZONE UTC+08 ☆ GENDER male ☆ AGE 17 ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS @shelpies ☆ FACE CLAIM Touhou, Yakumo Yukari ---------------------- THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO Shelpies.
