Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

As always Zeon was in the graveyard where she loved to be. It was a cloudy cold even a little misty of a night. Her favorite kind of nights. She felt the slight cold breeze threw her hair. As She walked to where she worked. She was getting another body ready for its bearal as that was her job as an undertaker. But something was wrong one of the dogs she used to guard the cemetery got in and still her fathers skull. She needed to get it back as she went out into the night searching for it a lollipop in her mouth as she walked.
Zeon has fair skin, fuchsia eyes, and black hair with fuchsia highlights on the left side of her hair. Others depict her with a white jacket with a metallic flower, has black cuffs, fingerless black gloves. A gray sash, black pants, and knee high boots. She also has a flower on the right side of her head. She stands 5’11” and walks as she normally does which is in a diagonal like posture with her back. The skull was important to her because her father was the grandson of king aurthor so he and she had been a pretty big deal back when she was alive. She found the dog and gave it a soup bone instead as it let go of the skull it did have a few teeth marks in it but other than that was ok. As she headed back holding the skull in her hands. She noticed someone as she walks back to her work space. She silently watched the man to make sure he wasn't a grave robber.
Decker took a drag of the cig in his mouth and blew out the smoke as he walked through the grass. It slowly became night by the time he reached his destination. As he flicked the bud out of his fingers as he looked around. The werewolf kept a certain awareness as he walked. Due to his type of work he usually kept his guard up. Even if he knew he was in no danger. Call it a work sense of sorts. Especially since last time with his client being a dbag and sending another to kill him. Like come on. You hire Decker to kill someone then want to clean up the loose ends. Luckily his assassin he sent after Decker agreed with him and they went to kill their client.
He walked up to a gravestone and looked at it. The grave he was standing in front of a grave of an old mob boss he used to work for. The man was quite a good person always giving back to the people he trusted and helping those in need. Decker was quite close to the old man, even so far as working for him free here and there. So when he found out he has passed away it was quite hard for him. Especially since he had to kill his son that took over the business due to the kid destroying the business. He stood in front of the grave and took out a cig from his pack that he kept in his pocket. As he lit it and took the smoke into his lunges. He breathed out, "Sorry gramps. Had to kill your kid cause your younger son hired me. It was a shame too. But I believe your youngest will carry on the business like you did." he said as he took another drag and exhaled the smoke. "Well gramps, hope you rest easy now knowing that your fuck up is dead." he continued as he finished the cig and tossed it away. As he just stood there with his hands in his pocket looking at the grave.
She knew that grave for she had been the one that prepared it for the man. She wasn’t sure how to address this but she smiled calling out a clear ”hello” as she went over near him. ”You a friend of his,” she asked still having the skull in her hands kinda giving her a creepy vibe yet the lollipop in her mouth gave off the opposite feeling. ”Im Zeon I’m the undertaker and grave keeper here” she smiled not sure if he already knew that. She could see his soul was seeming all twisted at first then seemed to let out a big sigh as if a weight had been lifted off of the man. She smiled as she offered him a lollipop ”No offense but your breath does smell like smoke, besides I find them relaxing sure wish I knew about these things when I was alive” she smiled. Although maybe she thought to herself to be quiet she was talking too much. So she stood there next to him ”Sorry probably talking too much” she said trying to be quiet and respectful of him while also explaining why she was so quiet. As she dusted off the skull she was holding that belonged to her father.
His ears flinched at the sound of someone calling out to him as his eyes moved to the direction of the sound. As he glanced at a woman holding a skull in her hands and a lollipop in her mouth. Odd combo he thought as he looked at the woman. She was pretty cute as his eyes flowed up and down. Her eyes had a nice purple tinge to them along with the small patch of purple in her hair. Everything about this woman's appearance complimented the next. As she held out the same candy that was in her mouth. Saying that he smelled of smoke. which was fair considering he did finish one. Decker never usually smoked. But he thought he would at least this one to show respect for the old mob boss. As he took the piece of candy from her. He took it out and put it in his mouth. As he glanced back to the woman who kept talking.
As she then apologized for rambling on. Decker just chuckled to himself. "You know your rambling was kinda cute." he said as he walked past her. Looking up into the sky with a sigh, the looking back at the woman. "Yea he was an old boss. Good dude. Killed his son so his reputation wouldn't be trashed on." he said with a shrug of his shoulders. He didn't really care if people knew he was a killer. What he cared about was if people knew he was secretly bringing info to the TRS and taking some contracts for them. Mostly because he didn't feel like dealing with the shit show that would follow if that ever came to light if anyone found out, especially the media.
"So what's up with the skull." he said as he turned to face the woman. It was pretty odd to just carry around a skull. even if she did work here. To bring it up to someone and still be holding it. Kinda odd. Not that Decker can complain as he is a killer but works for the good guys. As if that made sense. But none the less he was pretty curious about it.
She at first was shocked that he had just called her cute most people called her creepy as she smiled ”Thanks for the compliment” she smiled more. Even when she heard that he killed someone ”Well if I were him I would be happy to hear that you protected my name” she smiled. She was glad when he took the lollipop from her and then he mentioned the skull as she thought oh crap here we go with the weird part of myself. ”Well its actually my dads one of the dogs I have to guard the place when I’m not here took it, so I just got it back from the dog then was walking back to work when I spotted you. I also collect skulls as payment as a reaper I don't really have a need for something as common as money so I work for skulls or really good scary stories as my fee. You see my dad here was the grandson of king author” she smiled.
She couldn't help but look him over as she could also read his soul that's part of why she wasn't scared when he said he killed someone. For she could see a lot of good in him ”Do you mind if i ask if you're a lycan?” she asked him. That was what his soul appeared to be of to her but she didn’t want to be rude either. She realized she should get back to work but she also wanted to talk with him more. ”Would you escuse me for a second I have a client i am working on, so either i can be right back or you can come with me but i shouldn't leave the body alone for too long due to grave robbers”. She hoped he would come with or wait for her return. She also thought he was very good looking but also knew she wanted to get know him more.
Decker looked at the Zeon as she explained why she had the skull. When she started to explain he just kinda lost focus like the animal he is as his thoughts just started to wander. Until his focus was caught again by her saying it was her fathers and he was the grandson of King Auther. Huh I guess people do come from good backgrounds. Unlike me who is just a mut working for a living murdering people at requests. Not that it mattered at the moment. But it was odd such an individual of high calliber takes payment of skulls or stories. Then again she did say at one point when she alive. So she must be some sort of undead creature. Which wasn't all that possible. But one that stuck to being around other dead bodies was kinda odd, Decker thought as he just put his hands in his pocket and listened.
When she said she had a client she was working on as she said he could follow. He shrugged his shoulders. "Not like I have anything else I have going on. Plus you quirky and interesting." he said as he started to follow her through the graveyard. Most people think of graveyards as just a creepy place at night. But Decker didn't it was more just another place. The air smelled of humidity as a light fog started to roll in. His nose beginning to itch a bit more. He hated fog. Made his sense of smell just flare up. when she asked if he was a lycan. "What gave it away the ears? or the tail?" he said with a light chuckle. In this day and age of most species looking like humans. Decker was rare in the fact that he let his transformation partly stay. It actually helped him in the long run of things. His ears being able to pick up more sound and what not. Plus he didn't give two shits about what anyone thought. "So do grave robbers come often?" he asked, a bit curious. He knows there are some around. But the way she said it sounded like a normal thing...like in the movies or something.
She smiled as he said sure on coming with her ”yes all that and yohr soul reads as lycan too I just didn't want to be rude by assuming you were a lycan.” She smiled as she walked her back was in its normal aqward diagonal position from having to coffins ready, wholes dug and bodies prepaired all of which she did by hand. As they walked the fog was getting foggier she heard him back behind her ”you ok” she asked not having been told his name yet. She was a little worried not aware of if lycans could get colds as humans could. Soon they were at the place where she prepared things it was a cold, dark and a bit on the creepy side. Which was fair since it was made out of her own tomb where she kept her bones. This was also her home ”sorry if its cold its that way so that the bodies don't deteriorate fast.
This client had been a rich person in their life that valued their possessions. So their will requested certain items to be buried with them. ”Although this client probably wasn't so nice to many people judging from his will he still i think deserves to have his wishes granted. What do you think?” she asked the man that had followed her as she finished dressing and preparing the items to be buried with him. She went out of her way to make sure his items would stay as good looking for as long as she could make them. As she finished she placed the items with him in a coffin. As shebout it in the cold storage. ”So do you mind if i ask what your name is” she smiled as she sat down on a dining table top.
Decker walked along staring at Zeon as they walked. Now that he looked, she did have a weird posture. Not that it mattered to him. He still found her quite attractive. But it was weird none the less. Maybe it was from moving bodies all the time? He sure as hell didn't know. It was pretty chilly out. Especially for the Lycan who really only wore the coat he was wearing now with no undershirt. He liked having his chest be bare. Some had to with his senses. Other reasoning being that he liked all the looks woman gave him. Decker was pretty damn fit. Supporting a six pack while being very toned. It made him feel good that other looked at him with lust, or jealousy. It just felt good.
As she turned to him asking if he was alright as he sneezed a bit. "I'm fine. I just hate the fog. Makes my heightened sense of smell go haywire. Mostly because all I can smell is the humidity in the air." he sighed as he just let it happen instead of trying to fight his nose. There was no point. His sense of smell being so strong just made it so that times like these were complete shit. Soon they arrived at her work station? As he glanced around at the various of things. work station more like a home. He thought as there was dining table? a bed he assumed. So not only being some sort of undead. She also lived in a tomb while being the caretaker of the graveyard... This was either really creepy. Or Decker just found the most interesting person ever.
As she went onto explain what she did, more like explaining that she was burring a person. So that's what she meant about client. As she got to work and finishing up her preparation on the body. Decker walking past her taking a good look at the body. As he then leaned against a wall. "He probably doesn't deserve anything. If his will was that stuck up and shitty. What is the point of giving them a good burial?" he responded. That is just the way he thinks. Decker has been through a lot in his life with his whole family dying. Hence why he became a contract killer for the good guys. Killing as many bad people as he could. He didn't think scum should deserve such a good burial. But that was just his opinion, in the scheme of things, mob bosses had great burials and they were the worst people around with only a few exception like the one he just visited the grave for.
As she hoped up on the diner top of sorts and asked for his name. Did he really not say his name? oops. He put a hand into his pocket and looked at the girl and gave her a smile. "Name's Decker. Pleasure to meet you my highness." He said jokingly at the end accompanied by a sarcastic bow. . As she did say she was a decedent of king Author. With that info she better be ready for Decker to poke fun here and there with that info.
As she sat down she couldn't help but notice his six pack, his tail, his toned skin but mostly his ears. They looked so soft to her it made her want to scratch him behind the ears but they just met so she thought that would be weird. Besides she knew some Lycan thought that was offensive, some thought it was anything, then others liked it. She wanted to ask him if she could but she decided not to for she thought it would be a weird question. She then took note of the clothes he wore, and how he didn't really have sleeves she thought that seemed like it would be cold. "Isn't it cold without sleeves I can see if I have any coats form my family that could fit you of your cold that is" she said. She then remembered her dads skull putting it with all the other skulls she had and they weren't all human sku
She nodded when he explained about his seance of smell. She had known their seance of smell was strong but she hadn't known that a lycanthrope could smell the humidity in the air she didn't really even know it had a smell to it. She knew some humans hair curled when it was humid but other than that she didn't know how else people could tell besides feeling sticky. "So what exactly does humidity smell like if you don't mind me asking" she smiled as she asked him that. Then he got to talking about how he didn't think the guy deserved it. "Well the thing about it is it's a kinda personal reason I feel that way about it. You see I believe everyone should have one last wish when they die. My wish when I died never came true which was seeing my family before I die or at least at a funeral for me. But I was kidnapped they even made me have a daughter who they took and then I was left by the kidnappers to die. So since my wish didn't come true no matter what the person did in their lives even if they only lived a simple, greedy or a life as a kidnapped victim, they still should have their last wish granted" she said she then smiled to hide the tears that wanted to fall from her eyes.
"In case I neglected introducing myself I''m Zeon and I'm a reaper" she smiled as she extended her hand to shake his.
Decker looked at her as she seemed pretty intrigued by his ears. It was odd for most people that were not human to keep part of them if they can transform into something else. So it was pretty normal to see people fixated on his ears or tail. After all they were pretty obvious to look at. As she asked if he was cold. He looked down at himself. Considering the way he dressed, it was a miracle he never got cold. Maybe it was just the Lycan blood running through him? But he never really got cold unless it was snowing. Hence why he wears his signature jacket without an undershirt all the time. He looked at her, "Nah I'm never cold. I don't think I will ever be cold. Hell I radiate heat." He said with a chuckle. After all he was mostly warm most of the time. Even in a chilly night, he just oozed heat off.
His nose was still annoying him when she pointed out what does humidity smell like. He had to think about it for a second. "Gunna sound weird. But you know that smell when it's about to rain? That's what humidity smells like. Like you can smell what air smells like because the air so dense when it humid out..." he paused as he looked away for a moment as he started to scratch the back of his head. "I don't know if that makes sense." he chuckled as he just looked at her again with a bit of a nervous smile as what he just said probably made no sense.
Decker listened to her go one about how she thinks everyone deserves at least a dying wish. Which he can understand from what she went through. But he just didn't agree. Granted Decker sees the worst in people in general. So his opinion didn't quite matter considering he kills people for a living, and kinda enjoys it sometimes. So to say she was wrong. Would only make him look like an asshole. Decker didn't really hold any value in any life. Hence why he kills so easily. And mostly because he saw his whole family die. His sisters in front of his eyes. So deep down, the lycan was pretty empty and cold on the inside unlike the mask he wears on the outside that is lighthearted and fun. He would have asked on about if she ever found her killers or daughter. But he felt that to be a bit too personal of a question to ask. Plus taking into account she was just holding her fathers skull.
He reached out and shoot her hand. "Well it is a pleasure to meet you Zeon." he said as he held her hand and kissed the palm of her hand like the old princes do in the books. Or that was just for show and they never did that. But none the less it would bring the mood back to it's more lighthearted tone instead of the dreadful one with her being death she just talked about.
”Hey do you mind if I try something?” she asked only if he gave her permission she then went over to him reaching up and scratching him behind the ears. She watched wondering if that felt good to him or if he would get embarrassed for liking it or if he would hate it. ”Sorry I know this is a weird thing to do. How does it feel Decker?” she asked him as she kept doing it. She had listened to him explaining the smell of the humidity. So it smelled similar to rain, she didn't much care for that smell either, she liked it after it rained but not while or before it does. ”That makes sense since rain and fog kind both have water.” She would smile when he turned away. ”Hey, you got any place you stay at like that you live at? if not I know this place is creepy and you just met me but you could always stay here.” She at this point was still scratching his ears as she stopped wondering if he wanted her to keep doing it. She thought about what he said about not getting cold which made sense too. She would blush bright red. She hadn't had anyone do that to her since she lived with her parents. ”It's nice too meet you too Decker”.
