Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Leon was always stuck in some sort of routine. No matter how many times he prayed to whatever fuckin' god was up there, nothing with interesting in that city. Even with all the crime and hell that seemed to prowl around, nothing broke his routine. His clinic wasn't even getting that much business! No matter how much he advertised as being the perfect little criminal clinic, he still barely got any customers. Yeah, the little office had only been open a few weeks, but the brunette was not exactly known for having much patience, especially when it came to his passions.
And, today was the same as always. The only people who had come in had little injuries that took barely energy out of him to heal, and none of them had anything good that he could hold against them. How lame was that!
With a huff, the brunette pulled at his shirt collar whilst leaning on the reception counter. A dark green tie was tied around his neck, with a wrinkly black button-up covering the rest of his upper body. Having a rather messy appearance was the usual nowadays, since Leon rarely had the motivation to gel up his hair. Today, his soft brown hair was down again in that natural swoop, with his big glasses slipping down his nose every so often. Adjusting his weight so that his head was only being held up by his fist, the nephilim began slipping into slumber.
But, he didn't get far into it before the door opened for the first time in hours.
[attr="class","zrtPost"] Zoe wore a snug sports undershirt, sleeveless of course. Over that, she wore a loose fitting white tank top. Her stomach, as well as a large amount of the sides of her chest, would have been visible if not for the undershirt. Her hair was in a state not dissimilar to Leon's own, though hers was of a browner tone, and the "wildly relaxed" bangs and other such had been carefully crafted, rather than simply existing. Over her legs, she wore jean shorts that reached down to her legs. Except they were not jeans or denim, but rather a polypropylene short colored to resemble jeans. [break][break] Zoe would like the average passerby to understand how difficult it was to find fashionable shorts that were good for running and had pockets and were not from the men's section of the store. [break][break] Her shoes were white Nike running sneakers. They were so white they might have passed for new, though a careful examination would reveal the wear and tear of repeated use. Less careful examination would show that one of the shoes was repeatedly not touching the ground. Rather, Zoe was leaning against buildings and hopping. At first she recieved several odd looks, until one gentleman, someone of about forty with a long half grey, half black beard walked up to her. He offered her assistance to get where she was going, and she pointed to the building half a block a way, a local clinic, apparently. Using the bedraggled shoulder of her newfound, and rather stinky, companion, she made her way to the building. [break][break] She thanked him at the doorway, and offered him a few dollars. His eyes lit up, but he smiled and refused, saying he was simply happy to help someone in need. Zoe nodded at him, and pulled the door open. He asked if she still wanted assistance, but she said she could handle it. [break][break] Hopping in, the first thing she noticed was it was a nice room. The second thing she noticed was the man that seemed to be falling asleep. [break][break] "Um, hello," she would say. [break]
He's the under-the-table doctor. CORRECT
[break] "Could I get some help please?"

[attr="class","zrtNotesContent"] Leon Brantley [break] Her power means I may have a lot of questions for you before I can make some of my posts. Will probably do discord PMs for those.
Stirring from his rather uncomfortable nap, Leon was met with a girl now standing by the entrance. Taking a quick look over her appearance, curiousity bubbled within him as to why she was here, and which of his wild attempts at advertisement reached her. With a cock of his head at her seemingly hesitant hello, the nephilim pushed off from the counter, making his way out of the little reception office and out into the lobby.
"Heyo! Welcome to my back-alley clinic." Pausing to push his hands into his khaki short pockets, the rather unprofessional looking doctor leaned himself against the wall of the reception office. Leon took another look at her, his rather magical intuition focusing on where her weight was positioned. 'Weight ... leaning away from her ankle. Seems to not use it. Likely means injury.' The thought process he used with every single diagnosis breezed through his head as he cocked his head to the side, before realizing that she was talking again.
"Well, of course. What'd'ya need?" Leon's signature smile appeared on his features, slight dimples appearing in his cheeks.
[attr="class","zrtPost"] Zoe's face sort of went flat. She had just hopped here, and... he had not seen the hopping. Of course he did not instantly recognize how she was hurt. [break][break] "Um, I fucked up my ankle. I'd like some help sitting down, first of all." Zoe gave a little hop further in the door, wincing as her bad foot touched the ground. She raised it higher, hoping to avoid that. "And I don't know, ice pack and pain meds? Taxi? Whatever. To see the doctor, or RN, or whatever it is that works here." [break][break] Assuming Leon came to help her in, she would go wherever he led, and at the first opportunity plop down on something to sit and rest her bad leg over the knee of the good one. She would begin removing the shoe, being careful where her fingers applied pressure.
The brunette could not help muttering an amused "pfft" at the girls explanation. She wasn't the first patient of his who had a messed up ankle, but from her inability to walk on it, Leon could only guess the various things that could be wrong with it. Shifting his weight off of the wall, he began to make his way over to the girl to give her some help.
"Well, you and your fucked up ankle are in luck, since you are currently lookin' at everyone's favorite doctor; Leon Sexton." Another chuckle left him as Leon made it to the fellow brunette, giving her the ability to lean on him to help with walking. At her continuation, the nephilim scoffed at her various recommendations. "You musta not heard of my abilties - I can heal you completely, so your ankle will be brand new." A charismatic smile found it's way on his face as he borderline gloated about his powers.
Helping her hop to his treatment room, the nephilim pushed the door open for both of them, revealing the typical doctor's room: a treatment bed, cabinets full of various medicines, ect. Helping her to the bed and giving her some time to sit down, Leon waited for the chance to look at her injury.
[break] Untying the shoe was easy. Taking if off was hard. With a sharp inhale, one hand gripped her ankle while the other pulled at the heel of her shoe. It did come off, and she very quickly exhaled, trying to conceal a grunt. [break][break] Not that there was any doubt that hurt. "Fucking hell. Stupid biker." Zoe's voice was a low grumble, though not so low as to be hard to hear. "Alright, shoe's off. Sock should be easier, right?" The question was more to herself than Leon. She took in another breath, and began curling back the sock. She tried to keep her foot steady, with as little movement as possible. It... was not easy. But it worked well enough. Getting it past the heel meant she could just pull, though again she used one hand to keep it form moving. [break][break] A swollen foot is not a pretty sight. A swollen foot when you were wearing small socks that left an indent in your skin on a good day? Ugly to the max. It was all red and squishy, too. [break][break] "I must have pulled it or sprained it or something. Don't think it hurts enough to be broken. But I guess it doesn't matter if you can just full heal it?" She looked to him with this question.
Leon waited for the patient to remove her shoe, grabbing his favorite swivel chair and bringing it over. Plopping down on it just as she removed her shoe, his sharp ears caught onto what she was muttering. "Bikers are pretty shitty." Another smirk was seen on the twenty-one year olds face, before he simply nodded at what she said next. He was blessed with never having to deal with a foot injury, but Leon could only imagine how shitty it was. He couldn't assert his dominance with his height, or walk confidently! How shitty would that be?!
Tuning back into reality as the sock was removed, even the brunette couldn't help but wince at the sight. It did not look pretty at all, especially with how swollen it was.
Taking a moment to analyze every little detail of it, the brunette scooted his swivel chair forward. "Definitely sprained, and from the looks of it, it musta really hurt. Sprains usually aren't that bad, but with the swelling...hm." All of this was more of him saying his thoughts out loud, with each word barely being more than a mutter.
Hovering his hand over the injury, Leon waited for the energy to start flowing through his body until he placed it down. In an instant, his eyes glowed behind his glasses, and the swelling went down. It was an easy fix that didn't take much energy out of him, so the brunette was able to speed up the process more than usual. In a minute at the most, the ankle was nearly fully recovered, with it needing only another few seconds to be back to normal.
Once the heal was complete, Leon pushed off, sliding across the floor in his chair to a little cupboard. Opening it and grabbing a chocolate inside, he popped the soothing candy in his mouth before looking back at his patient.
It's a trick.[break] My foot is actually healed.[break] CORRECT[break] The healing can be undone.[break] The healing is permanent.[break] The healing is permanent assuming I do not reinjure it.[break] CORRECT[break]
[break] Zoe rotated her foot, examining the feeling. It felt normal. Healed. She expected this to be a much simpler setup. There being an actual healer was... a pleasent surprise. [break][break] "Ok yeah, that's nice. And you can call me Anne. Or Ms. Noy*if you really want to be formal. So, how strong is your healing ability? Like, if someone walked in right now with a slit wrist, could you save them?" [break][break] Zoe's once injured leg fell off the the knee of the other, hanging over the edge of the examination table. She leaned back, arms behind her. She took in a deep breath, or as deep as someone who does not breathe from the stomach can**.
[attr="class","zrtNotes"]

[attr="class","zrtNotesContent"] *Anne Noy is a minor name in certain circles. Online persona that has a large collection of hacked game accounts. Zoe is in fact Anne Noy, though she does more than just sell cracked game accounts.[break] **Seriously, how to chest breathers get enough oxygen? I try breathing from the chest and I get lightheaded after a few minutes. Completely boggles my mind.[break] Position yourself well. (Totally not ominous) (100%) [ ]
"Hey Ann." Leon muttered with a smile, wrapping his head around her name in attempts to not forget it. It wouldn't be the first time that he forgot a name, but he wanted to be extra careful this specific time to make sure he remembered it. After all, this girl might end up rather useful to him, and the doctor really needed more connections if he wanted to be succesful.
At the question about his abilities, the nephilim laughed at the thought of someone wondering into the clinic with a slit wrist. "Yep. The only thing I can't do is bring someone back from the dead." Leon paused as he leaned back in his seat, staring up at the ceiling as his adam's apple bobbed with every word. "Depending on how serious it is, sometimes I can get really drained. I also can't heal say, 10 people at a time if they all have serious injuries." The brunette didn't exactly know why he was giving away all of his secrets of how he worked to Ann, but he didn't see any problem with it. At least at that moment, he seemed to be able to trust her enough, and if she proved that she couldn't be trusted - well, he could handle that too.

[break] Zoe thought for a moment about being cheeky. She could really get a feel for his power if she did something... more. Cut herself somewhere dangerous. She had a knife, and she was probably fast enough to do it. But was it really worth the risk? She already knew he could heal it. She was not so suicidal as to just.. throw herself into the hands of death. [break][break] No, instead her face went very... calm. A smile, and she looked towards Leon. Towards, not quite at. As if she were looking behind him, through him. [break][break] "This could do nicely, Leon." Zoe pulled out her wallet. There was over a thousand dollars in there, largely in hundreds. She counted out ten of them, directly in front of the man. "A token of appretiation, and a proof of... allowance. In the near future, I will be calling you on a morning. I want you on retainer, max power. There may be some healing that needs done. If we are lucky, and all goes to plan, there will only be a few wounds. Probably some body shots, maybe some grenade fragments that could use removing. [break][break] "And this money is not just for this visit. I can get more, if you need. I want you to stockpile blood. Any time, any race, it does not matter. Also, stockpile some things for two humans, A- and B+ blood types. I expect to find this clinic shut and locked on the day I make the call to you, and I expect it to be unlocked at a moment's notice. On that note, I need a phone number for you. Preferably a burner. I could provide a burner, if you want." [break][break] Zoe looked him up and down, hopping off the seat. [break][break] "And I'd like to get to know you more. I am rather good at reading people. So far, I do not think you would betray us. I wish to maintain that idea. In my experience, people you get to know on a personal level are much less likely to betray you than someone you meet for buisness and little else. How's that sound?" [break][break] And Zoe's face would then relax. It was as if she shifted out of a mode. Her eyes would refocus, clearly on Leon now. She awaited an answer, even as she asked her power what it was.

The nephilim was in no way expecting that rather creepy smile to come onto his patient's face, and to see her seem to look straight through him. Leon would be lying viciously if he said it wasn't unsettling. But, he had dealt with far worse in the past, so he couldn't be that scared with the female. But, what really got his attention was the fact she just pulled out her wallet - which seemed rather loaded - and pulled up what seemed like a shit ton of money. With his green gaze widening, Leon really couldn't hold back how shocked he was. He hadn't even asked for any money yet, and she planned to let Ann get away with barely paying anything!
With raised eyebrows, a simple smirk found it's way on the doctor's face. "Damn Ann, alright. Can ya give me a call at night though? I'm not much of a morning person." Even with the rather serious situation, Leon couldn't stop himself from the little joke that still held some serious to it. After all, he really hated mornings - and he woke up early most days to prepare the clinic, so calling in the morning when it was already open would be viciously inconvient for everyone.
At the mention of more money, dollar signs pratically infected his pupils as he took the money from the girl. "You got it! All of that is rather easy for me. And yeah, I guess a burner would be pretty useful, so can you please get me one?" A sweet smile pulled up on his lips as he tilted his head to the side, Leon's precious side really shining through. That is, right before the doctor let out a laugh at just the thought of his ridiculous behavior.
At her next comment though, the nephilim fell into a more relaxed state. "I'm down for that. You've got my interest, Ann." It was a simple comment that was almost flirty, right before he turned around and grabbed yet another sweet from his nearby fridge. Popping the cherry flavored lollipop in his mouth, the doctor turned back towards Ann, before offering her one as well. "Want one?"

[attr="class","zrtPost"] "Night before works," she said. She had had to think for a moment, but that would work. They did not plan on attacking in the early morning, anyways. [break][break] As he confirmed his ability to get the blood, and his interest in a burner, she nodded. Reaching into a pocket, she pulled out a simple flip phone. Some small name pay as you go brand. She would hold it out for him to grab after she hopped off the table. [break][break] "I'll pass," she said, in response to the sucker. "So, when do you close up shop here?"
Leon simply nodded along to her proposed plans. Thank god he wasn't that busy of a clinic, else it would be quite the problem to just shut down everything until then. In the future though, it won't be that easy. Sadly.
Taking the small flip-phone, the brunet couldn't help but cringe at the feeling of such an old phone, but he knew it was rather essential. After all, he could really use the money she was offering. Maybe with it, he could even have some fun, such as even hiring some employees to help him out. Just the thought drew a smile from the formerly stoic face of the man.
Sucking softly on the candy, he thought about the question carefully. "Whenever I want to, but I typically do it around 5 or 6 P.M. Why, hm?" Quirking his eyebrow, Leon looked at Zoe with curiousity.
