Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
a small yawn escaped his lips. despite having the day off he didn't have much time to sleep in. even if he wanted to the rest of the house hold was making too much noise. he sighed and eventually moved the covers away. he looked at the time, he had gotten an extra hour. it was better than nothing. he made his way towards the bathroom. a shower would help him wake up.
he had a couple errands to run and of course he had to make time to go to the carnival. he was suppose to meet up with a couple of friends, but that wasn't till later on.
after doing a bit of shopping and running errands. his timer went off. he had made sure to set an alarm. he wasn't going to be late meeting up with his friends. making his way towards his destination he made it on time. except his friends were no where to be found. it wasn't a second later that he got texts saying that they were going to be late. he simply shook his head and sighed. he could already smell the food from here. he had only had breakfast. there were so many options he wasn't sure where to start first.
Aubrey enjoyed her singing but with the carnival in town, she adopted to take some time off from her writing and performances so that she could enjoy it for a couple of days. Since she was popular, she had bought herself a wig, causal clothing, and sunglasses. Once she wore the pink wig on her head, she placed her sunglasses on and checked herself in the mirror. Do I know you? Of course not. I'm just your average girl, looking to spent the day at the carnival. That wasn't to say she didn't enjoy being popular but there was nothing worse than being surrounded by fans when you came to a place with a purpose with the intention of having the day off.
Now with fans waiting outside her hotel room, expecting her to come out the front door, she made sure to slip out the back instead. Once she was far away from the hotel, she walked to the carnival. There was a large crowd, waiting to get inside but she waited her turn and sooner or later got her entry. She moved off to the side, trying to figure out what different activities were out here. What to do first? She thought to herself, before smelling the food nearby. She started walking in that direction, trying to side step people because the last thing she wanted was for somebody to take notice of her.
he had texted his friends back before venturing out to find food or at least he had been trying too. walking and texting was probably not the best thing to do. he would look up occasionally as he walked. he wasn't sure what he wanted to eat. everything smelled delicious. of course he had to think about how much he was going to eat as well.
apart from games at the booths, harv wanted to get on some rides. some spun you around really fast. normally he wasn't the type to get motion sickness, but he didn't want to risk it. the rides looked different from the last time. as if he wasn't distracted enough. he knew this was bound to happen. he hadn't looked up fast enough and his shoulder collided with another. they both quickly apologized before harv noticed they had dropped something."hey, wait!"he said as he tried to catch them. he tapped them on the shoulder."oh, sorry wrong person..."and just like that the person he had bumped into lost their wallet. it seemed like food would have to wait.
On her way to find a place for food, her shoulder had collided with a guy. As if to avoid causing a further scene, she was quick to apologize and go on her way, unaware that she her wallet had fallen out of her back pocket. She hadn't heard him calling out to her, but when she finally found the food, she had gotten in line, only then realizing she didn't have her wallet on her. She would side step out of line, trying to remind herself where she had seen it last, figuring she must have lost it here because she had bought herself a ticket to get into this place.
Memories of bumping into the guy crossed her mind and she moved away from the food to try and search him out. Where did I see him last again? It was hard to remember, though she had managed to find the spot where she had bumped into him, too bad for her, he wasn't there anymore. Damn it........... With a sigh, she pulled out her phone, preparing to call in her lost cards so that replacements could be sent out.
the person had dropped their wallet and before he even had a chance to catch up to them they had left. he had chased after a person and they turned out to be the wrong one. he was certain it was at least a girl. or someone with long hair. he wasn't exactly looking at who he had bumped into. after all he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings.
he wasn't sure how he was going to find them. sniffing the wallet was out of the question. besides he didn't pick up any strong scent from the wallet itself. he figured the best thing to do was to turn it into lost and found.
he wasn't about to open the wallet and look through it. what if the person saw him and thought he had taken it. how would he explain himself out of that situation. he shook his head and figured it was best to go back and turn it in. he headed back to where he first was, by the food. the lost and found had to be somewhere around there or something. maybe they could call them out by making an announcement or something. there were speakers all around. he picked up his pace a little and once more his body collided with another.
Aubrey had her phone out, about to make a phone call when somebody had bumped into her. NOW WHAT? She thought to herself, having almost dropped her phone in the process. She looked at the person that had bumped into her, prepared to snap at them but instead stayed quiet. Is he the guy that I bumped into earlier? She thought to herself, redialing the number on her phone to report her wallet missing. It would be better to call it in, than take a chance at this guy not seeing her wallet, the last thing she wanted to do was ask him if he had it. The person answered the phone, "Oh yeah, I lost my wallet, so I need to report my cards." She started, figuring that she would be best at solving this now instead of later.
he felt like an idiot. he had no choice as he put the wallet closer to his face. he took a big whiff. trying to sort through all the different scents till he found one that was strong enough. at least he had been walking and sniffing. when he got bumped again the wallet fell from his hands and it fell open. the smell was stronger, the one he had picked up on. after picking up the wallet. he called out to her, after all he had taken a peek at her id card."aubrey, wait!"he called out to her as he picked up his pace. he waved the wallet hoping she would figure it out.
he saw that she was on the phone. maybe it had been one of the reasons why she hadn't heard him. then again they were surrounded by a bunch of people. he handed her the wallet."you dropped this."he told her completely unaware of her status.
Aubrey was waiting on the phone when her name had been called out but with the amount of people that were out here she was having trouble hearing. Even the agent on the phone had to repeat their question twice before Aubrey gave them a clear answer. Something had been handed to her, she flinched because she hadn't even noticed him approaching her. The phone call was in process of canceling her cards, meaning she wouldn't be able to use them. She opened the wallet and sighed, seeing her lost cards were all there. They are all here...... Now how am I supposed to pay for stuff. The agent had come back onto the phone. She closed the wallet and sighed, "Seven days?" She wasn't sure if she could live without using her cards that long. "Alright, I'll be on the lookout for them coming in." She thanked the agent for their time and hung up. She turned around to look for the guy that had given her the wallet back. "Thanks."
This day was supposed to be one hell of a vacation but now........ I can't pay for anything even if I wanted to..... She felt down on herself, of course after a few minutes another person had bumped into her and the wig she wore fell off. She reached to fix it but somebody had taken notice of her. "Oh my god, it is Aubrey!" The person shouted, making their way towards her. She moved towards Harvey, at first tempted to hide behind him but when it seemed like the crowd around her would get bigger, she attempted to drag him away with her. Stupid wig, why the hell did you have to fall off....
he felt like the girl wasn't happy to see him. after all it did take hime a few second to capture her attention. she had been to busy talking on the phone that she hadn't noticed him calling out ot her or even noticed he had walked up. she took her wallet back and he was quick to speak."i didn't take anything. i just found it. i think you dropped it when we bumped into each other the last time."he told her with a nod as he watched her look through the wallet herself.
it wasn't long after that someone had called out to her. she had quickly hid behind him, causing him to be confused."what hiding from an old boyfriend? i don't want to be involved with any of your drama. all im saying is if someone starts throwing punches they are going to get hit back."he told her as the male approached. she seemed scared."not to close buddy."harv said without thinking. slowly people started to look at them. great he didn't want to cause a scene and here he was smack in the middle of something. he could feel her tugging at his arm and started walking as soon as she did as well.
"you always have trouble following you?"he asked as they continued to walk away from the crowd.
Aubrey wasn't thinking of if he took anything or not, was just curious on what exactly she had done to herself by calling in when she ended up getting her cards back. Of course she would have to finish her phone call before she could talk to him, at the very least thanking him for returning her wallet. She sighed, it wasn't a boy friend, more like fans.... and it wouldn't be long before they were surrounded by them. She pulled Havery away so that she could talk to him privately. "That wasn't trouble, they were fans." Maybe she was wrong in assuming that he knew who she was, but it was too late to pull away from him now. "First off, thanks for returning the wallet I dropped." She sighed, "And even though you mistaken-ed them as somebody else, for not attacking a fellow fan. I didn't come here for them to swarm me...." She fixed the wig that was in her hands so that it would hide her real hair.
he was completely oblivious to who she really was. he had assumed that it was just some random ex trying to get back with her. he had no time to deal with exes. he had come here to have fun and of course eat. he didn't ask to be dragged away, but here he was making sure the girl was alright. hey, he wasn't going to leave her alone if she had a problem. he would point her towards the authorities if things started to get any worse. it's not like he could do anything. okay, maybe he'd throw some punches, but honestly what could he do?
he shook his head."its fine, i was going to eventually turn it into the lost and found, but then i bumped into you again."he told her before raising his eyebrow."a fellow fan..girl i don't even know who you are. are you famous or something?"he asked her. or maybe she was just delusional. he really couldn't say. only that she needed to up her game if she wanted to hide from her fans.
Aubrey wasn't sure if she should feel happy or disappointed that he didn't know who she was. She sighed, moving away to give him some space. "Shh... I know I got away from them but they will swarm if they notice me." She paused, "Maybe telling you that they were a fan was a bad idea...." The comment was mostly to herself. With a sigh, she pulled out her phone to pull up a youtube video her at her own concert. "Does that answer your question?" She couldn't help but feel a great need in proving to him that she was in fact famous instead of just making the comment. She closed the app on her cell phone so that it wouldn't use up anymore data. "So what happens now?" She asked, somewhat curious on seeing his reaction to finding out that she wasn't just some girl, but a singer.
he took her phone and watched the video. the glimpse he had caught of her without the wig, well with the wig sliding off. he could tell that she was more than likely the same girl in the video. he wasn't sure what she wanted from him. well, what kind of reaction she was expecting of him."if you're expecting me to fan girl, i hate to disappoint you."he told her with a small laugh.
after the video was done he had returned the phone back to her."okay. then."he said as he ran his fingers through his hair."im gonna go get some pizza."all this wandering around had made him hungry. after all before all this mess he was going to go get something to eat.
Aubrey wasn't sure if she was supposed to be disappointed or happy. She decided to be happy because it meant he wouldn't be all over her like the other fans all over the place. "Disappoint me? Why would I be disappointed?" She asked, pointing to the wig. "If I wanted fans, I wouldn't be wearing a wig." After he finished watching the video she placed her phone back in her pocket, he mentioned getting some pizza and she couldn't help but stare at him in surprise. "That's it?" She asked, taking a few feet back she looked at him again. "Right, you were likely going there in the first place." She answered him, deciding to not press him on the subject. Now what am I going to do, I thought I lost my wallet and so I canceled my cards just as he returned it to me. This is just great....
