vylad zaider tell me reality is better than a dream. general info

Vylad is best described as slender with limbs that lean towards the lankier side of the scale. For a male, Vylad has surprisingly small hands. When it comes to skin complexion, he has fair skin with the occasion small scar from the very limited amount of fights he has managed to get into. A tattoo of a ace of clubs playing card marks his left shoulder, although, he rarely shows it off. There are no blemishes or other scars on Vylad’s skin. Sometimes, people can find Vylad having mild injuries despite his enhanced durability. Oftentimes, people can find Vylad smirking or angry as of expressions. His face is oval in shape, although, he does possess a sharp, pointed chin. Similarly, his nose is also rather pointed compared to his features. Despite being a dragon, he does possess demon-esk horns as a result of his father’s demon origins. His hair styling is best described as messily put together. abilities Enhanced Strength -- Intermediate An ability that allows the user to access strength above a normal human. This ability when used can tire Vylad and cause his body to grow sore in cases of extensive use. The amount of control that Vylad has over this ability is questionable since it is capable of activating when he is angry. As the dragon shifting progress, this ability grows in strength. In complete human form it is slightly above the human peak for strength. Thermal Resistance -- Natural This ability allows Vylad to survive severe temperatures, most specifically extreme heats. This ability only protects Vylad from the cold to a degree, which means that extreme colds can cause him to feel a chill or grow sick. As a naturally occurring ability, he has no control over this, however, being in constant extreme temperatures can wear down his energy. Pain Suppression -- Beginner When activated, this ability lessons the amount of pain the possessor feels. Since Vylad has little skill in using this ability, large bouts of pain can cause it to cease. Minor injuries and anything relatively lacking in pain can be suppressed easily. The problem is, this ability tears away at Vylad’s energy very quickly making it very difficult for him to use. Fire Manipulation -- Intermediate Similar to all dragons, Vylad is capable of manipulating a single element which is related to his dragonic type. In his case, he can manipulate fire and create it for those manipulation purposes. Creating fire takes more energy than manipulating flames that already exist. This ability does tend to flare up whenever Vylad is angry, causing fire to suddenly form around him and his body temperature to increase. If Vylad is soaking wet or it is raining, this ability will not function to its full capabilities due to the dampness. During these situations, Vylad is completely incapable of making fire and is limited to manipulating what is around him. If it is only a light rain, Vylad can sometimes make small flames. Enhanced Durability -- Natural For Vylad, it takes quite a few hits to damage him heavily. His species are meant to take hits, which means that trying to knock him out takes a long time, especially for a regular human. Blunter objects or attacks tend to do less damage than sharper weapons that are meant to cut into flesh. Although, sharper weapons do tend to have a difficult time sinking deeper into his skin than the average person. Magic-based attacks can still cause significant damage to Vylad alongside those with enhanced strength, however, this can still take more time than usual. The biggest weakness are various types of poison which can be rubbed on the skin and remained unaffected by the immense durability. Dragon Shifting -- Intermediate As expected, Vylad can take on the various features of his dragon form, although, he is limited. Control is a requirement since reaching the fullest extent of his shift can resort to him being unable to transform back. The further he transforms, the higher his enhanced strength and durability to get, but his speed lowers tremendously. As he transforms, his appearance bears more traits of his dragon side, the furthest being when his wings and tail form alongside a few patches of scales. When angered, this can onset the transformation can cause Vylad to reach extremely risky lengths with the ability. The further the transformation goes, the less human he will act since he would be influenced by the beast inside of him. Naturals: Fire Proof, Magic Tasting backstory Originally, Vylad was born in Red Deer, Alberta on March 11th to his now single mother and became the youngest son in the small family. There were no father figures in Vylad’s life from the day he was born, his mother and brother being the only pair to be aware of the father’s existence. It was an oddity witnessing other children who had fathers that would take them out for various activities that Vylad missed out on. Due to being a single parent of a low-class job, Vylad’s mother struggled to make a living and spend time around her children. This oftentimes left the boys in the care of neighbours. Although, Vylad always found himself focusing on the fatherless aspect of his life, which resulted in the young boy constantly questioning his mother about where his father was. His mother consistently insisted that his father was an amazing man, disguising him as some sort of legendary hero. Being a young, naive child, Vylad was quick to believe every single word his mother stated as complete fact. Considering his older brother agreed with the delusions that his mother stated, Vylad found himself believing the statements further. In reality, Vylad’s father was a deadbeat, constantly wasting money of alcohol and cigarettes. He would get laid off from work consistently, making his income contribution very minor towards the family who desperately required it. When he discovered that the mother was pregnant for a second time, he walked out and refused to return. Alas, Vylad’s mother continued to cling on to the futile hopes that the father would return at some point. She still craved his presence despite the horrible behavior he held, but Vylad’s mother was always renown for her clinginess towards other people. His father had no intentions of returning into the life of his wife and children. It was obvious considering that every night he would return home with the lingering smells of booze and sex laying heavy on him. Being a dedicated young woman, Vylad’s mother had always ignored it, even after he left while she was pregnant with him. Although, there were numerous people who did not sink into her delusion-filled world. Around the age of 8 was when Vylad became more curious about his father, but his mother could not provide a plethora of information. Thus, the young boy approached his grandparents and pestered them with his various inquiries. Ultimately, his grandparents provided a truth that lacked the sugar-coating that a majority of children would receive in order to assure that there innocence remained completely intact. They informed him about how horrible his father, going to lengths to detail it while trying to keep their version censored for the young boy. Despite some skepticism, Vylad found himself believing the version of the story his grandparents told. It was sensible giving the fact his father was never around nor did he even attempt to contact them after leaving. Upon hearing the truths, Vylad began to feel immensely rejected by his father and found that the delusion-filled story that his mother and brother would tell him were irritating. A stern hatred was made towards the mysterious man that was considered to be his father since he genuinely believed that leaving them was a horrible mistake. A few years of delusional stories soon resulted in Vylad snapping and stating all the truths his grandparents had informed him of. This caused his mother and brother to become upset, going lengths to send the young boy to his room after dinner where he would remain for the night. There was uncertainty in how they could approach the situation in order to make Vylad believe that his father was the amazing person that they believed him to be. The way out of this predicament was becoming hard to reach considering that the young boy would not listen to their lies. He began finding his most direct family to be incredibly irritating until they finally decided to leave the topic alone. There were no more stories about the “magnificent hero” that was his father. Instead, the conversations were filled with trivial talk as they inquired about both work and school, listing off the days menial gossip. It became a rarity for Vylad to participate and each topic stated at the dinner table was met with skepticism because of unveiling the truth about his father. The age of 12 was an interesting time for Vylad since he began concerning himself about the financial affairs of the family. It was obvious that they were significantly poorer than the remainder of the community, which always brought concern. Although, his mother would always insist for him to not worry himself over it. The words never assisted the child since every day he would witness his mother return home exhausted or rushing to head to her next job. She would constantly run herself raggad trying to maintain the family. It caused Vylad to head to his grandparents for advice or to request assistance for the stubbornly independent mother. Although, his grandparents did not maintain the highest income and were greedy about the amounts of money they hoarded. Instead of giving their grandson helpful advice, they began introducing him to crime, stating that he could earn a fair amount of money from performing the dastardly acts. As time went on, Vylad found himself enjoying committing crimes and slowly the amount he performed began increasing. It began as menial tasks and he was constantly accompanied by an older fellow who assisted his grandfather. During school the young boy began acting differently which earned his brother’s attention as he began investigating the change in behavior. Gradually, it became obvious to his brother that his little brother had become a felon. There was a lack of bravery in informing the police or his mother, thus Vylad’s brother attempted to resolve the issue himself. When his mother went to work one evening, Vylad was approached as his brother began trying to reason with him. They soon began arguing as the pair began yelling at each other. As the year continued, the brothers began growing apart from each other. They never argued in the presence of their mother, causing her to merely witness the boys grow distant. It brought the necessity for change since the mother wanted to spend more time with her children to learn the problem. His older brother pushed the motive further, stating that a change of scenery was perhaps in order. He suggested moving away from Alberta and instead heading to live with their uncle in Lorsette, Newfoundland. They left shortly after the verdict, selling the home and opting to live in the luxury the uncle had created. Vylad, initially, hated the concept of moving, but was informed that his uncle assisted in a larger crime field in Lorsette. Thus, the move at the age of 13 was beginning to be viewed as better. Gradually, it adjusted to a positive when Vylad began attending school and noticed girl who was particularly attractive. Evelyn Lynch was a beautiful girl with her pretty red hair and dazzling eyes to match. Even her general attitude caused Vylad to be infatuated with the woman the instant he saw her. Constantly, Vylad would flirt with her in hopes of stealing her heart, but initially she played hard to get. The 13-year-old boy found it oddly alluring and pursued further flirtation attempts. Despite when a date arrived that his friend had stolen a stash of narcotics from his home, Vylad was still attracted to her. At the beginning of the realization he was angry, but it faded due to his heavy crush on the beautiful girl. It was not long until Evelyn became a distraction from the nagging his brother did since she appeared not to be bothered by the criminal activity he participated in. After a while the pair began dating and Vylad found himself happier in Lorsette, Newfoundland. He maintained his job and managed to keep his job, but his relationship with his brother remained strain. Gradually, Vylad grew closer to his uncle which resorted in the threat to move no longer being sinister. The young criminal merely insisted that he would live with his uncle. Thus, his brother lacked anymore cards and was left attempting to figure out how to cease Vylad’s criminal attitude. misc ♣ Likes: Crime, hot beverages, warm weather, flying, gambling, tricking people, music, casual drinking, spending time with friends, helping his family, baseball, winning, sleeping, video games ♣ Dislikes: Water, rain, cold weather, yelling, being nagged, his insomnia, being punished, interruptions in plans, his father, being lied to, 52 pick up, getting caught ♣ Fears: Getting caught, going past the point of no return (dragon-based), hurting people he cares about ♣ Vylad is currently an insomniac as a result of the guilt he feels. ♣ Vylad still despises his father for leaving his family. ♣ Vylad is amazing skilled in using his hands to perform card tricks or cheat during poker games.
