appearance The body type of Umberto is tall and slender, with some lean muscles. He comes to a height of 6’ and possessed graceful muscles. These have tones down slightly since he retired from the TRS, although, he still possesses a slender, and lean build. A fair complexion is what Umberto’s skin is like with a few paler blemishes from the scars that litter his skin. Some are a result of his time working for the TRS, others from his horrible past and the remaining from his pendant form’s clumsiness. There are no significant scars mark Umberto’s body, and the scars can usual only be viewed on close examination. It is not uncommon to witness Umberto get small cuts, bruises and various other minor injuries as a result to clumsiness. Umberto’s arms lean more towards the lankier side, meanwhile his legs remain relatively average to his height. His hands, especially around the fingers, are heavily calloused from participating in archery. Facial features are rather average on Umberto and still carry a somewhat slender appearance. He possesses an oval shapes face that holds a pair of magnificent blue eyes. There is a particular brightness to his eyes, although, sometimes it is traded for a glossed over sorrow appearance. His hair has two separate colours, the bottom around his ears and nape of his neck is a dark shade of blue, meanwhile, a section on the top possesses a lighter colour. This hair is longer and includes his bangs which sometimes hover in his face due to their length. Expression wise, Umberto is an oddity considering a majority days he wears a broad smile and happy-go-lucky attitude while others are spent in sorrows. Those sorrowful days are when people see him brandishing an alcoholic beverage of some sort. The clothing that Umberto wears is usually plan due to his dislike or graphic t-shirts. A majority of the time his wardrobe consists of plainly coloured shorts and jeans for pants. Occasionally he will sport sweats and shorts during the summer months. He is prone to wearing dress shirts since he finds them fairly comfortable and likes the light fabric. The most notable of his physical appearance is the pendant that oftentimes hangs around his neck. It’s coloured gold and carries a heart shaped locket. Inside the locket is a picture of himself and his husband, but it is rarely opened. Whenever the pendant is missing, most people tend to notice that Umberto lacks his usual happy-go-lucky attitude and clumsy. He trades a smile for a bottle of liquor and remains rather blunt and anti-social to all who decide to approach him. Due to his familiar ties, Umberto is capable of shifting into a large grizzly bear. His fur is a light brown in colour and Umberto is only slightly larger than the average grizzly. When the pendant is separated from Umberto, he becomes the individual he truly is, the person who continues to mourn the loss of his husband. Although, these traits may not always be openly displayed since in order to cope with his depressed emotions, Umberto drinks heavily. When under the influence of alcohol, he tends to become slightly more irritable than usual. Interacting with Umberto reveals his extreme sorrow and anti-social attitude instantly since he is unlikely to contribute to a conversation. Instead, he becomes blunt, attempting to push away anyone who attempts to get close to him. Being incredibly insensitive towards everybody who interacts with him is Umberto’s main method to get people to leave him alone. This in tandem to his blunt behavior can result in rude comments towards the other person, even if they are merely trying to be benevolent. When it comes to alcohol, Umberto is immensely compulsive despite the liquor’s lack of effects on his depressing memories; to him, even a few moments of forgetting are worth the side-effects. He is extremely strong-willed about giving up a drink, which oftentimes results in him outright refusing to listen to people when they ask him to cease his drinking spree. This makes it obvious to a majority of people that Umberto is careless about the opinions of others alongside his own health. At times, this may result in reckless decision making because of his lack of care. However, most people tend to avoid this blue-haired familiar due to the often aloof expression and attitude he possesses. Although, there is a lighter note to Umberto’s personality that can be noticed by those who decide to push past his anti-social disposition. Those who manage to get close to Umberto will find that he is dedicated to those around him, oftentimes refusing to betray them. This oftentimes leads to Umberto being incredible protective of those he is close to since he finds everybody close to him important. Oftentimes, he is willing to risk his own life in order to protect his friends, making him tremendously courageous against foes. He is surprising capable and independent despite his indulgence in alcohol. He is able to take care of himself and handle difficult situations on his own. Ultimately, this allowed him to retain his hard-working and resourceful attitude after Umberto was shattered. Despite his alcohol indulging, Umberto still maintains an alert and intuitive personality which makes it difficult to sneak up on him. Oftentimes, this also allows him to smoothly avoid dangers. Although, he can be deceptive with the factor of his curse pendant. He also has a tendency to be incredibly sarcastic and outspoken at times. only to run back when life crumbles and we need something to hold us together.
When the pendant’s influence comes over Umberto, his personality changes drastically. This causes him to almost act the exact opposite to his regular behavior. A majority of people would notice this version is significantly kinder than the true Umberto. Furthermore, this influences him attempt to help anybody and treat then with a benevolent and courteous behavior. Negative wise, the pendant form is a lot more gullible and tends to fall for tricks easily due to lack of experience. Since the pendant form represses a majority of Umberto’s memories, this causes him to be incredibly happy-go-lucky and have difficulty dealing with serious situations. This also causes the pendant form to be more sensitive towards critique from others. The pendant form is also very moralistic, frowning upon alcohol habits, although, remains clueless on why he must keep alcohol in his own fridge (a note from the tue Umberto enforced this). Notes from the real personality can easily influence the pendant form, and oftentimes results in it bending to the will of the body’s true owner. Despite the severe differences, the pendant form and true form do have some similarities. abilities Shield Creation -- Defensive An ability that allows the user to spawn shields in order to protect themselves alongside other individuals. The physical appearance of Umberto’s shields is a pale, blue aura that spawns when he wills it. These shields are impenetrable, but inside attacks or individuals are incapable of leaving which can transform them into a death trap depending on what range of abilities are locked inside. If Umberto gets knocked out, the shield falls immediately. Without Pendant: When the pendant is not being worn, Umberto possessed an intermediate control of his shields. He is incapable of deflecting attacks launched at him, which means the shield merely nullifies the oncoming damage. Over time these shields will begin to break, cracks appearing on their surface. Magic attacks are less effective against Umberto’s shields, but physical ones like enhanced strength can cause them to shatter quicker. If exhausted, these shields will break quicker than usual and perhaps not spawn at a large size. Counterspells -- Defensive/Offensive This ability allows Umberto to nullify various forms of magic that is launched towards, most specifically tome magic. Once the magic is already used or has hit its mark, Umberto is unable to counter it. He is only capable of nullifying or deflecting an attack when it is process, which means once completed there is nothing he can do. This ability does allow him to break the effects of potions prior to the time period on them. Without Pendant: The true Umberto is masterful in counterspells, making him an advanced rank. This essentially allows him to deflect certain magic attacks back at the user. Although, the bane of counterspells is their lacking in effect on physical enhancements and various bodily modifications that result from him. Umberto can not counteract blood manipulation, body modification and other abilities related to those. He is capable of nullifying and deflecting powerful magic, but he must be awake and aware. Being exhausted makes him pathetic at this ability. This weakness essentially means that the magic is capable of not being counteracted despite the hard-working efforts of Umberto. His nullification may slightly weaken it or sometimes he can deflect a small portion of the attack, but he or somebody else will receive the brunt of the damage. Between each deflection and nullify, Umberto needs recovery time in order to use the ability, this can range from 2-5 minutes and he is only capable of deflecting and nullifying one attack at a time. Healing -- Support The ability to heal physical damage done to another person or oneself. Umberto can both heal himself and others with the use of this magic. When it comes to another individual, he is required to have his hands hovering over the injury. Regenerating from his own wounds can only be done if Umberto focuses and the process can not begin during combat, he is required to be at rest. There are signs that Umberto is healing himself or another person. When it is another person, a green aura emits from his hands and the wound or area being healed with copy this aura. When healing himself, the wound that is currently healing emits this aura. If interrupted, the healing process ceases. Without Pendant: Umberto is fair in control of this ability when pendant-less. Although, nowhere near the advanced level, he is capable of healing severe injuries, but this does take time. His healing first rectifies infections, healing them before truly mending the wound itself. This takes roughly 2-4 minutes (varies on severity) until he is capable of mending the wound. His healing has an odd tendency to prioritize, which means if Umberto is incredibly injured, his healing ability will not allow him to heal the other person until he mends his own wounds. If low on energy or tired, this ability will either take an extensive amount of time healing or not work at all. Bear-Based Attributes -- Defensive/Offensive Like all familiars, Umberto has an animal side he is capable of shifting into should he desire. In both human and animal form he gains various attributes due to this. These attributes consist of: enhanced strength, enhanced endurance & enhanced senses. His strength allows him to move heavier objects or deliver harsh physical blows. This comes with the risk of over-stimulating his muscles which can cause severe bouts of stiffness or soreness in the muscles. If severe enough, this can leave him bedridden for a couple of days. His enhanced endurance allows him to take numerous physical blows, but magic attacks still do the same damage as they would to a regular human being. Lastly, his enhanced senses allow for him to smell, hearing and to a degree eyesight. His sense of smell and hearing are incredible better than an average human. Although, his eyesight is only slightly improved than a normal human’s, but does give him better vision at night. Once again, his capability to see during the night is only increased to a small degree. It takes Umberto 30 seconds to transforms and he transforms back when critically injured. Without Pendant: Umberto possesses an excellent control in his enhanced strength and is capable to activate it on demand. This is oftentimes use to protect his others or himself by attacking the opposing. When exhausted, his enhancement is not as significant as when he is alert and aware of his surroundings. Somebody with super strength or a better enhancement of strength can overpower him easily. Furthermore, due to his nasty drinking habit, his enhanced strength is lessened. This is especially when he is outright drunk and during these moments his control weakens. Due to his tendency to heavy drink, his enhanced eyesight has gone a couple notches down and the night vision fails when he drinks too much. backstory Trigger Warning: Emotional/Physical/Mental Abuse, Homophobia Being the product of a young couple who got married at 18 because of the delusions of the woman who wedded a man out of the deceptive sweets he would whisper in her ears was bound to end in disaster. The couple were an impulsive type, never thinking of the consequences before performing the actions. It was the reason why both families gazed upon the marriage with disdain clouding their eyes. The parents of the bride insisting against the concept started because of their insistence for their daughter, a familiar similar to the rest of the family line, to form a contract. Alas, their words fell upon deaf ears and the daughter cut ties with her parents immediately after the subject was brought up. They were both stubborn, bickering constantly and being upset at the marriage that was falling apart a meager month after wedding. It resulted in the immature decision to conceive a child for sole purpose of remedying their shattering marriage. Due to the constant delusions of the child’s future mother and dreams painted with scenes involving gods, the mother believed that the child would be a blessing from Akari. At times, the mother believed the possibility of the child being born an angel despite neither family line possessing angel blood all because of her delusions. Eventually, it resulted in the birth of Umberto on a late September evening. The child, similar to his mother, was born a familiar which could have been a pride-sparking offspring on her parents side should she had not relinquished connection. Although, raising a child proved to more stress inducing than the young couple at originally thought. The pair began bickering more, however, would not divorce out of stubbornness to prove to their love ones that they were responsible and capable to maintain a relationship. Gradually, the stress became difficult for Umberto’s father to bare which resulted in the man constantly grabbing bottles of liquor and getting drunk in the living room. Due to consistent drinking, Umberto’s father became emotionally abusive towards his mother. He would scream about her being a filthy cheater and a delusional b*tch and constantly his mother would retort. These were the sounds that the child began growing up, the voices that tormented him and reminded him that those happy deceptions his parents displayed in public were always false. As a child, Umberto never felt truly happy with his circumstances. Oftentimes, he would be sorrowful and anti-social towards anybody else in his grade. He could maintain a conversation, going lengths to be a champion of public speaking compared to his young peers, but he lacked the social motivations. Friends meant sleep overs, which would ultimately result in somebody having to enter the hellish atmosphere that was his world. Growing up admiss the constant emotional abuse was something that the young boy was familiar with since his parents would even bicker at the dinner table. Umberto was not even afraid of the constant fighting, he simply grew passive towards it and would simply leave the table when the verbal brawl would begin. There was no safety from listening to the violent words that would be lashed out since it always echoed through the old house they called “home”. As time went on, his mother was beginning to despise the relationship and started gathering materials to break the contract between herself and Umberto’s father. All those comments insisted that Umberto’s mother cheated on his father was a truth. At first, the concept went unnoticed as his mother would always hide the materials from the drunkard who laid on the couch. Although, a time arrived when Umberto’s father noticed the gathering, his mother almost finished and just needing to perform the ritual. Unfortunately, that chance arrived too late for Umberto’s mother to escape the final horror. The night always stuck in the 7 year olds head when a scream shaked him from sleep during the late hours. Since the entire house lacked a safe room in the child’s mind, he shakily left his room in search of his parents, heading to their bedroom. His parents were discovered, but the child found his father standing over his mother, beating her bloody. Umberto remembered how his mother was screaming from what his father was doing while his father slurred out horrible things. Despite being a mere child, he grabbed his father’s arm and begged for him to stop. Instead, his father swung back hard and sent Umberto to hit the bedside table. When his head hit the table, the child felt the tears following the pain. Shortly afterwards, his father finished beating his mother and in a moment of worry, Umberto crawled over to his mother. His mother had never been the greatest, but in that instance, Umberto found himself immensely concerned about her well-being. He called out for her, tears blurring his vision out of both fear and the mild pain. When he drew close and wrapped his arms around her, his mother used her remaining strength to push him away. He tumbled back, gazing towards his mother with confusion in his beautiful blue eyes. Instead of being the welcoming mother depicted in cartoons, his mother began yelling at him. She stated that he was a spawn from hell, a child of Volos who had been planted in her womb. That night, his mother called him worthless and an incarnate of the evil created from the fires of hell. She insisted that if Umberto was truly a gift from Akari, the marriage would have been rectified and a happiness would have settled in it. According to his mother, the mere boy should have been capable of stopping his father to protect her and save her from the hell she faced. Swears were swung his way, every piece of anger his mother could muster being thrown at him. More tears had formed before Umberto quickly returned to his feet and ran out of the room crying. He slipped into his own, locking it before hiding beneath the covers to sob over the words his mother stated. That night, his mother had left with the contract breaking materials to be with the man that she used to cheat on Umberto’s father. Meanwhile, the young child was left in the care of his father who began drinking heavier due to his wife’s leaving. No charges were pressed against his father for the domestic abuse. After the occurrence, Umberto became moodier, insensitive and aloof towards his classmates. His beliefs were always fatalistic, enough that it concerned his teachers which resulted in constantly calling his father out of concern for the young boy. It was enough to anger his father, which would result in emotional and mental abuse as once again those words of criticism could be Umberto’s way. The young child, at first would end up crying as flashes of the night his mother yelled at him came to mind. Constantly, the boy was beaten mentally as his father called him worthless and stated that he was nothing. He would go lengths to state that Umberto would fail in anything he attempted to do, which caused the child to grow upset. Although, after those months or crying and abuse, Umberto gradually grew numb to the criticism. He no longer cared what people had to say about him and whenever it was negative, he would snap back some ridicule at the person. It caused Umberto to become his father’s verbal sparring partner at a vulnerable age which sometimes caused his father to roughly shake and push him, although, he had yet to truly hit Umberto. At the age of 10, a miracle happened and Umberto found himself befriending a boy named Silas. The boy would oftentimes bribe him with candy, a delicious treat that Umberto perhaps had tasted once, yet, the bribes shortly did not turn into the only reason he would stay in Silas’ company. There was something special about Silas that caused the oftentimes anti-social child to enjoy his company. His friend somehow was capable of drawing him in, almost as though some invisible thread was pulling them together. Eventually, Silas became Umberto’s only friend which easily placed him high on the list of significant people in his life. It resulted in Umberto being heavily devoted to Silas and ultimately, the pair refused to separate from one another when the other got in trouble. They were close and for once, Umberto began feeling happiness which had never occurred in his dark world. Despite those horrible words and constant mental torment experienced inside the walls of his home. In the dark world that Umberto lived in, Silas was the light that would grace his presence. As time went on and Umberto hit puberty, he began noticing things about his friend. Constantly, Umberto found his eyes wandering towards Silas, gradually finding his physical appearance attractive, although, lacked the bravery to admit it. Around 12 was when Umberto began realizing that he was homosexual. It was not long after the realization that his father gradually began to notice as well. His father began arguing with him constantly, admitting his belief over his son being gay and Umberto confirming it. The house shifted that day, his father’s violence increasing slightly. He became more prone to shoving his son, hitting him in the arm or chest on the odd occasion. Although, this rarely led to any damage except a horrible bruise every now and again. As days proceeded, his father consistently attempted to try and force his son to see the attraction in woman. There were several incidents of his father slipping Umberto photos of scantily clad woman or bringing home a woman and showing her off to Umberto before bedding her. It only pushed Umberto further from his father, his mind already consumed with thoughts of his friend and daydreaming about date ideas. The mental and emotional abuse that Umberto would face increased daily as his father saw no results in attempting to change his son’s sexuality. The pair would bicker constantly behind inside their dark world, only acting friendly to one another when around other people. Due to the distress of verbally dueling, his father began becoming a heavier drinker to cope with the concept. Despite the constant emotional and mental abuse his father inflicted on him, Umberto found himself gradually falling in love with his closest friend, Silas. It was difficult for him to think otherwise of the boy he devoted himself to as a familiar. Silas’ appearance always remained defined as perfect and his personality fit to it as well. Each time that Umberto’s father would attempt to change his son, Umberto would ignore him, opting to be around his friend or do anything to converse with Silas. The young teen already had eyes for somebody, although, feared to admit it because of the concept of being rejected. Although, years went on and around when Umberto became 14, he and Silas began dating. Quickly, the days spent with Silas became the best times in Umberto’s life. In the familiar’s eyes, his boyfriend was the light within his dark world; the only thing that mattered to him. As a few months passed, Umberto found himself getting into more arguments with his father which grew incredibly fierce since it was targeted towards Umberto’s sexuality. Gradually their verbal brawl progressed into Umberto admitting he had a boyfriend, stating how incredibly happy it made him and lastly that there could be nothing wrong with it. In an instant, Umberto’s father seemed to snap as he menacingly approached him, although, his son being familiar with his father’s threatening appearance did not flinch. Remaining in the living room shortly became the downfall when his father viciously grabbed the collar of his shirt and slammed him against the nearest wall. His father had always been a burly man and despite years spent draining bottles of booze, was still stronger. There was a momentary struggle in an attempt to escape his father’s grip, but was ended when the first punch was thrown to his gut. The air was knocked out of Umberto and his father’s grip tightened as he continued hitting his son, avoiding his as he screamed hurtful words. When the final brutal blow was struck on Umberto’s face, the young man being thrown to the ground was when the reality of the horror show came upon him. The moment his freedom from his father’s grasp was gained, he narrowly managed to hastily get to his feet and run to his room, locking the door behind him. There were furious bangs on the door, his father screaming at him to stop being a weak coward. That night, Umberto was unable to sleep out of fear his father would come and beat him bloody like his mother. Nobody was informed of the incident, Umberto too frightened to utter a word out of fear his father would hurt those around him or outright murder him. Furthermore, there was the desire to keep a tough impression around his peers and most importantly, his boyfriend. When questioned about the swelling and bruise on his face, Umberto insisted he had gotten into a fight with a bully that was picking on some kids. He never considered himself the hero type, but it balanced the notions of tough and benevolent, however, the incident left Umberto skittish. The most notable changes in Umberto’s behavior became his tendency to flinch or even tremble during verbal fights. Matters were made worse since his father was called to be informed of the injuries his son had obtained, and he wore the deception of the pleasant parent well. When Umberto returned to home, he found his father keeping his threatening disposition. The young teen attempted to slip back outside, but his father was hasty to get a grip on his arm. That day, Umberto was abused further, his father informing him that telling anybody would not help. The man was smart, referencing the fact that his mother had done nothing to jail him. This time, his father was cautious to avoid Umberto’s face, but the abuse was still displayed through his movements. They remained slower, a countenance of pain appearing on his face when moving into certain positions. The lies continued as Umberto insisted that it was merely incidents, his boyfriend never believed him. Days past and one of the days his boyfriend gave him a hug, which caused Umberto to flinch and squirm from the immense bruising. When it became obvious that his boyfriend noticed the various wounds, Umberto panicked and became increasingly upset. A teacher had noticed Umberto’s distress and brought them inside where once again his father was called and informed. Without his son’s knowing, the father came to the school, claiming that perhaps it was better if his son was taken home for the day. The instant Umberto saw the man, fear sparked in his eyes, but the choices were limited. At the time, the teen was terrified of the abuse getting worse if he attempted to uncover it, thus he timidly followed his father. At first, the walk progressed in a horror-filled silence as Umberto’s mind began to fill with thoughts about how his father would torture him. There was still the possibility of running, but the young teen felt too terrified of the possible repercussions. When the first opportunity came and the people and traffic cleared, Umberto’s father shoved him into an alleyway with the similar threatening look. Umberto felt petrified as his father approached him, criticising him, stating he was worthless and informing him of how he failed to hide the bruises he inflicted. There was admittance to the crimes in the believed sanction of privacy, his father advancing and preparing to beat his son again. Although, for once there seemed to be mercy from the painful afflictions of the dark world. Like the brilliant, light shrouded hero that Umberto saw him as, Silas came to save him from the torment. Once the opportunity was given, they had ran in hopes his father would not follow. When his father gave chase, Silas had taken his hand and kept running, Umberto following his boyfriend. Due to the efforts, Umberto’s father was incarcerated for his heinous acts and Umberto felt safe for once. He felt closer to Silas, falling more in love with the teen who had transformed into his hero and continued to vow himself to protecting his boyfriend. Around Silas, Umberto found himself always feeling safer which resulted in him often clinging to his boyfriend. The initial opposal to him and Silas sharing a room concerned him since Umberto found himself wanting to be around his boyfriend constantly after what has transpired, although, he tried to remain patient like Silas. When the time arrived that Silas’ adoptive parents agreed, Umberto found himself incredibly happy to remain beside his boyfriend. There was safety around Silas, which was something he had never experienced until then. Throughout the entirety of his time spent living with Silas, Umberto never got close to Silas’ adoptive parents. Alas, when they murdered, Umberto remained close to his boyfriend in order to comfort him to the fullest extent. His background in the dark world allowed Umberto to adjust easily to a parentless life and having Silas with him made adapting easier. Later on, Silas joined the TRS and with the determination to protect his boyfriend transcending over him, Umberto joined shortly afterwards. Umberto’s desires were to assist Silas in reaching his goals and aspirations, his boyfriend’s happiness being the most important thing to him. The day that Silas asked to married him was the happiest day in Umberto’s life. Naturally, Umberto was quick to agree and got a place with Silas. Whenever possible, Umberto would assist in the efforts to find his husband’s sister. He wanted Silas to be happy, which meant that trying his hardest to find Evelyn was of the utmost importance. Although, a mere year later was when things changed drastically when Silas break the contract. The reasoning was understandable, his husband desiring for Umberto to protect Evelyn, thus Umberto agreed. The days of recuperating from the contract’s breaking were fairly normal as he continued to display affection towards his precious Silas, the hero of light. Then, the morning arrived when Umberto woke up to an empty bed which already confused and frightened him. At first, he called out for his husband until he discovered the golden band on the bedside table, Silas’ wedding ring. Confused, frightened and worried, Umberto was quick to grab his phone and start spamming his husband with text messages begging for answers or to at least know where he went. Time drifted by agonizingly slow as Umberto found himself panicking with each passing minute as he called numerous people connected to his husband in hopes of discovering where he has gone. There was a knock at the door, something unusual and confusion. Slowly, Umberto approached it with hopes of Silas maybe having a surprise of some sort, although, his hopes were dashed by the grim faces of his fellow TRS. That was when it was revealed that his husband had died in a fight against Assembly of Phantoms members of which he was not supposed to be participating in. Once the words finished dripping out of the TRS agent’s mouth, Umberto felt as though his world had instantly shattered. They attempted to calm him as he grew immensely upset, but before they gained the chance to truly console Umberto, he had slammed the door shut and locked it. He sat in front of the door, attempting to remain strong, but the tears were quick to consume him as his vision grew blurry and he began bawling. The singular light within his dark world was snuffed out and it felt as though there was nothing left. Once again, he felt alone as he was plunged into sorrow. In his sadness, he blamed himself for Silas’ death since he failed to be around when he needed protecting. As days past, Umberto found the sorrows consuming him, which caused him to start drinking due to his cluelessness on how to deal with these emotions. He oftentimes got drunk in hopes of drowning out the memories that now only remained sad. His personality reverted, Umberto transforming back into the anti-social man he was in the first place. The TRS uniform he once wore with pride beside his husband was hung in the closet, Umberto quitting his career as a hunter. With the search for a job required, Umberto became a janitor in order to keep maintaining income. He wrote notes to inform his pendant self when to take off the locket in order to secure time when he could remain himself. The plan worked and for once, Umberto found himself happy again. Although, he lacked memories from his true self he still smiled, even though the misfortune and clumsiness. One of the nights, Umberto had gone out drinking and brought the pendant with him. It was stolen, resulting in him being trapped in his misery for a few minutes until a red-haired girl returned with it. Shortly, the discovery was made that the girl was Silas’ sister, Evelyn. His vow returned to mind and Umberto managed to convince Evelyn to come with him and later contracted to become her familiar. There was a path within the dark world, and it was the protect the person who remained important to his husband with his life. About a year after Silas’ death was when he discovered a peculiar sight. At first, Umberto thought his eyes were playing tricks on him when he saw his husband, walking around. Once he realized that Silas was indeed there, Umberto could not help, but run up to embrace him. Although, there was no fairytale ending when Silas claimed to not remember him which sprung feeling of hurt in Umberto. He insisted, informing Silas that they were married alongside his name, but his husband only appeared to remember his name. Shortly, the realization arrived that his husband had amnesia which resulted in Umberto taking him home immediately. This journal is hidden from the happy-go-lucky self and it’s believed that if the pendant-self sees the journal, the curse may lose effect. - Umberto enjoys photography despite being ammatuer at it, although, he does this less since he lost his husband. He keeps an album of the time spent with his husband. - In a small box on Umberto’s dresser is a pair of wedding rings that remain taken care of. He usually only opens it to clean them. This pendant represses all the nasty memories that cause him to feel depressed, leading him into a false sense of security in his life. This can also include various other memories the true Umberto obtains. Those bad memories are nothing, but hazy dreams when the pendant dangles from his neck. It remains his emotional stabilizer and promotes happier feelings, although, causes him to be incredibly clumsy. Without it, Umberto becomes incredibly depressed and will oftentimes resort to alcohol. He secludes himself from others and becomes the anti-social man still mourning the loss of his husband. The pendant’s curse is linked solely to Umberto as of memory repression, however, it will bring bad luck to all who carry it.
