malakai moors tell me reality is better than a dream. general info
appearance For the most part, Malakai looks like your typical geek with the large glasses, collared short sleeves, dress pants and even a simple tie. Sometimes he will change it up and wears vests or various other clothing styles. The collars are always done up all the way and if anything he will only loosen it slightly. Malakai has a pale skin complexion since the only time he is really outside is for his field medic work, otherwise he’s in his father’s basement working out potion recipes, causing disastrous concoctions or simply reading through spell books. As of hair, Malakai usually has his dark brown (looks black in some lighting) hair groomed upwards near the front in order to keep it out of his face. His hair is often well groomed since it is a habit his mother has stamped into his day to day cycle. When it comes to body, Malakai does look rather handsome. He’s a tall fellow with a height of 6’ with a slender look to his body. Surprisingly, Malakai does maintain a little bit of muscle, although, due to his slender appearance it is not overly noticeable. Facial features are harder to notice on Malakai due to his painful shyness. Retaining eye contact is very difficult for him, and he often looks elsewhere opposed to at the person’s face. Those who do manage to catch a glimpse are likely to notice Malakai’s eyes first. Initial glance suggest they are merely a dull shade of brown, but looking deepers displays lovely hints of hazel that almost make them sparkle. A few people tend to notice that he does not smile too much, and when he does it is often a shy, polite one. There is one very unnoticeable trait about Malakai since he tries very hard to keep it covered it, but his torso is marked by pinkish scar lines. Mostly long ones, specifically across his back and stomach with some smaller marks on his chest. He is very self-conscious about these scars, thus he always hides them to the best of his abilities. When they are brought up, it is not uncommon for Malakai to get very upset. personality An initial conversation with Malakai reveals his extreme shyness since he does have difficulties speaking with people. He tends to stutter a lot and get quite anxious, thus he usually avoids conversation out of fear of embarrassing himself. As of words, Malakai is clumsy and tends to say too much or something that means the exact opposite of what he actually means. This has only worsened his shyness since he gets embarrassed very easily. Thus, he has become mealy-mouthed, shy and anxious in social practice. He is self-conscious and insecure in his social skills alongside anything else he does. Being a perfectionist makes him very self-critical to the point where he will point out any of his errors instantly. However, this often means that when Malakai does a task it is done right. He has a steely determination that causes him not to give up until he has completed his objective. There is one fault that Malakai does have with this, which is that when he can’t see a way out he can get very fatalistic. He has difficulties holding onto hope, especially since he can be easily discouraged at times. Although, Malakai tries his hardest not to sound fatalistic and will attempt at some mediocre optimism when in his mind everything is going to end terribly. This also makes him tend to believe the worst in himself since he constantly thinks that he does everything wrong. Mistakes are something that Malakai severely fears to the point where he does get anxious about making mistakes. This does cause him to question what he is doing a majority of the time, which can make him hesitant to speak or act. However, Malakai does sustain self-confidence in one thing. On the field, Malakai does have confidence in his medical skills. Surprisingly, while working Malakai can be a strong-willed and rarely does he stutter or lose faith in his actions. He’s smart and resourceful, which often makes him capable of coming up with a solution when supplies are lacking. When it comes to his field medic work, Malakai is an especially hard worker since both his steely determination and compassion for other people drive him. In the field of medical is when Malakai gets very strong-willed and is insistent upon helping people. This is the only time when Malakai can drop his socially awkward tendencies and speak without a single stutter. He works hard in order to make certain that people are well taken care of and that they're comfortable. Oddly enough these occasions do allow Malakai to be rather courageous. This is not the only positives to Malakai's personality. Kindness is a trait most people notice. Malakai hates being rude to people or even giving negative feedback. He's sweet and courteous, always giving people a polite demeanour. However, this does cause him to be rather apologetic and oftentimes will apologize profusely. Despite his shyness, Malakai is the curious and likes to learn new things. Malakai is also outstandingly loyal to those who do manage to get close and gain importance in his life. However, this can cause Malakai to get a little clingy and even rely on the other person for help interacting with others. Essentially, Malakai likes making friends with people who will assist when he is in a social situation. He also finds friends enjoyable to be around since he can oftentimes speak more smoothly among them. Those who do manage to get close to Malakai will find that he can be emotional. This does cause him to be delicate with certain topics, mostly those linked to his past. Malakai is also very moralistic and due to his high respect of law he will most likely refuse to break the law even if it is the name of the greater good. abilities Potion Making: This is one of the abilities that Malakai does excel in. When it comes to making potions, he is nearly flawless. However, this is specifically in potions that have medical uses and he often knows the items he needs to make these by heart. Anything that is harmful is a difficulty to Malakai, since he generally hates making them which causes him to mess up and cause explosions. He also tends to make mistakes on any potions when he is tired. Spell Casting: When it comes to using a spell book, it’s easy to say that Malakai could definitely use some work. Defensive spells are his strong area since he tends to try and memorise them in order to protect those who are injured. He usually has great control over his defensive spells. As of offensive, Malakai is rather terrible at them and is only capable of controlling low tier and some mid tier offensive spells. Alchemy: Once again, Malakai could use some work in this area of magic. He’s not the best at alchemy nor is he the worst mostly because he rarely uses it. However, if anything Malakai will merely do little things, nothing too fancy. His control in alchemy is definitely questionable, since Malakai has been renowned for somehow getting something created that he never intended to create. Voodoo: When it comes to voodoo, Malakai has no skill considering his lack of training in the ability. He never tries to use it and has no plans to. Thus he has no skill and it is unlikely he will ever gain any skill in voodoo. Curses: Another category that Malakai has absolutely no skill in. Since curses are something heavily frowned upon, Malakai has never trained himself and it remains an ability unused. Charms: When it comes to charms, Malakai is about average. He's not overly influential with them like potions nor is he absolutely terrible at them. Usually he will shy away from attempting anything too complex and merely stick with the basics, however, with proper training he can manage more complex charms. backstory Trigger Warning: Violence, homophobia, emotional/physical abuse When Malakai was born, his parents were already divided after his father died in an accident and returned as a spirit via a curse. While he was merely in the womb his parents fought about who would be taking care of the child. In the end his mother won with his father only gaining the meager right to visiting once and awhile. Thus, when Malakai came into this world he mostly knew his mother from the very start. This would one day become the face of somebody he feared and with the right reasoning. Meanwhile, his father came the second face that he easily came to know and love despite his common absence from his life. During this time, he lived in a small town in New Brunswick, Canada. At a young age, Malakai was informed that perfection was important. His mother essentially drilled the concept into her son and would tell him constantly. This caused Malakai to be very insecure and anxious at the young age of 7. He became known in his class for being easily upset and distressed when he made a mistake. Oftentimes this only made Malakai stand out and would cause the other children to ignore him. That was when his social skills took some damage and he became painfully shy. His teachers constantly tried to push him to speak to the other children, but Malakai was far too shy to even try. It took a few years until Malakai was capable of making a few friends and they were mostly people who felt sorry for him. Gradually though, they did become actual friends despite how awkward Malakai could be socially. Although he had difficulties with his shyness, he enjoyed actually having friends in his life and found his social skills minorly improving. Around when Malakai was 9 was when his mother warranted permission to visit his father in Lorsette, Newfoundland over the summer. The trip was long, but Malakai found himself enjoying the summer months he spent with his father. Generally, he was happy and would find himself pleased when his father took him to fairs, out fishing and to various other activities. As the years went on, the two only bonded more as they would spend time together going to these events. Malakai always had more affection for his father who constantly supported him and did not claim that perfection was key. Around his father, the young boy always felt more relaxed opposed to when he was around his strict, perfection-loving mother. When Malakai became 17 he got his first girlfriend, an event that his mother approved significantly, but something seemed off. Instead of intense romantic feelings, Malakai always found himself merely seeing her as his best friend, not a lover. At first, it was presumably his shyness taking effect, but alas whenever she tried to kiss him he would back out of it. Eventually, they sat down together and began talking about what exactly was going on until they got more into depth about what they liked. It was then that his girlfriend brought up the topic of him possibly being homosexual. The realization dawned on him quickly and it became obvious to Malakai that he was indeed gay. He was rather pleased about the revelation and naturally him and his girlfriend broke up afterwards since it was obvious neither would get what they desired from the relationship. Thus, Malakai went home happy about what had transpired with plans to inform his mother. Once he returned home his mother asked him how his time went with his girlfriend, of which he replied with the fact that they broke up. Naturally, his mother commented on his oddly cheerful behavior to which Malakai told his mother of his discovery. The last thing the teen had expected was for his mother to glare at him and ask him to repeat himself. It was off putting, thus Malakai stated his words more cautiously. That was when his mother’s hand came back and slapped him across the face, making his cheek red. Malakai was shocked and asked his mother why she did that. He could never forget how she stated that “it was wrong for him to want to date men instead of women,” which made it obvious to Malakai that his mother was homophobic. Thus, he kept quiet and prayed that it would not get worse than a slap on the cheek, but he was sorely mistaken. After his discovery, Malakai found his eyes drifting and lingering on some guys who caught his eye or around some of his male friends who he has long developed crushes on. Gradually, his mother began to notice how in public it would happen, even around her, which only caused his bitter mother to get more irritable. One of the days, one of his crushes walked him home and kissed him on the cheek before leaving. When Malakai got inside his life turned into a living nightmare when his mother glared at him. Once the door was closed, she grabbed the collar of his shirt and dragged him downstairs where she would hit him and even harm him with a kitchen knife before using her medical expertise to treat him. Despite how much he cried and begged his mother to stop, she simply would not. Returning to school the following day was hard on the boy as he began rejecting the boy who kissed him on the cheek and anybody else who would try. His mother managed to convince the school to pull him out of gym class, stating that he had a medical condition that she diagnosed herself. Since his mother was a doctor, they believed her. As the days went on, Malakai became a very timid person and seemed to be nervous a majority of the time. He would also move around slower, as though he was in pain. It was a difference his friends noticed quickly and began to interrogate him about what was wrong with him. All his answers consisted of “it’s just the medical condition,” and that “there was nothing else wrong,” but they saw through it. Alas, trying to pry the answers out of Malakai was a task that nobody could seem to accomplish. Homelife shortly became a living hell for Malakai since his mother would constantly yell, criticise and bring harm to him, which only caused his social abilities to plummet. His self-consciousness and need for perfection increased, making him sensitive to critique at times and very critical when it came to his own work. Throughout the school days he would randomly get upset and would be required to be removed from the classroom. The education system in his town acknowledged his intellect and decided that he would continue, but would be required to do some lessons alone so teacher assistants could speak with him. Eventually the news came to his mother, which only caused more punishment as he was informed that if he did not stop acting the way he was she would kill him. Thus, the boy began acting like there was nothing wrong, and eventually the system believed it was merely a phase and placed Malakai back into his regular classes for the last few months of his final year. When graduation came along, Malakai did not attend the ceremony, stating that his “medical condition” would make the ceremony too much for him. Afterwards, his mother helped him get a job that would not bother the wounds that she created on his torso and that she claimed would be easy for him. A few more months passed, and gradually Malakai’s life became going to work then back home where he could possible face the horror that was his mother. Constantly, Malakai was threatened that if he told anyone about what she did to him, she would kill him. Out of fear, the young man was silent about what his mother did to him for a few more months. One night, his mother decided to go out with a couple of her friends and in her rush made the mistake of keeping the phone line attached. Malakai took the house phone, locked himself in his room, and made a long distance call, dialing the numbers of his father’s cell phone and praying that he would pick up. When he heard his father’s voice on the other side of the line, his voice shakily spoke to him, it sounded as though he was on the verge of crying. In a worried voice his father began asking him what was wrong and why did he sound like he was about to cry. The first thing that Malakai asked him was if it was wrong that he liked guys instead of girls, of which his father replied that there was nothing wrong with that. That was when it Malakai asked his father a question that threw him off guard, which was why did mother hit him for it then. Immediately, his father told him to call the police, to leave the house and stay with a neighbour and that he would be there as soon as he could get there. Malakai obeyed his father’s commands, but found himself too nervous and upset to call the police himself. Thus, Malakai left the home first and went to one of his neighbour’s home and shakily asked for help. The neighbour was an elderly woman, often noted as being bitter, but a majority of people had been absent from town during the time. Despite her bitterness, she invited him inside and called the RCMP on Malakai’s behalf. Afterwards, the time for quite a while was passed quietly sitting in the elderly woman’s living room while she attempted to settle his upset emotions and tend to the fresher wounds. Not long after she completed tending to his wounds was there a knock at the door. The elderly woman insisted that Malakai remain in the living room and be completely quiet since she feared it would be his mother. She left to answer the door, which indeed was his mother who had returned early after realizing she forgot to disconnect the phone. His mother had attempted to let herself inside, demanding that the elderly woman return her son, however, the elderly woman kept stating that Malakai was not at the house. Eventually, it became a vocalized duel between the two as his mother kept insisting that she had to be lying. The elderly woman held her own, distracting his mother with the argument until the police arrived. Not long after his mother witnessed the lights did she lunge at the elderly woman, stating that it was her fault the police were here. The sudden noise of fighting caused Malakai to yelp as he saw his mother nearly knock the elderly woman into a decorative table holding a vase. His mother was furious when she saw him, and instantly the dots connected and she began advancing stating how she was going to kill him for telling somebody what she was doing to him. Several other insults were slung, his mother stating that he was absolutely worthless and never deserved to be alive. However, before she could get close enough, the elderly woman blocked her, using a spell to summon a force field to protect herself and him. The RCMP soon arrived and took his mother away in handcuffs. Shortly after, Malakai was escorted out of the home. He could still hear his mother screaming at the top of her lungs that she would kill him and if he ever obtained a boyfriend she would kill him too. Soon, they managed to get his mother into the car and drive her away while Malakai was sat down for a while in an attempt to calm him down. The young man was upset and could barely even speak. His friends who had planned to invite him out since they had not seen him since they graduated saw the commotion and suddenly understood what had happened to the shy teen. However, they could not speak with him at that moment since he was taken to the hospital to get the wound in his shoulder checked out. After he was allowed to leave, the elderly lady offered him lodging until everything got organized. Later on his father arrived where the two remained in at the elderly woman’s home while his father got several affairs sorted involving custody and his mother’s arrest. During the time, Malakai was for the most part moping around the house in silence which caused his father to become concerned. Thus, he tried to sort out a majority of the affairs near house or if him and the elderly woman were out he would ask somebody to watch Malakai. One of the days, Malakai’s friends were asked to watch him since as it currently stood it was a rather simple job considering the boy would barely do anything. For the most part, Malakai merely responded with nods, shakes of the head or just remain silent. It made it difficult on his friends watching him act so sorrowful, but they kept trying to cheer him up a bit. However, they gained his attention when they asked him if he wanted to look at the graduation pictures. Looking at the pictures calmed him and allowed him to feel included on an event he missed and the soft manner they spoke kept him comfortable. Soon he was speaking, although they were short and softly spoken sentences. Most of his sentences consisted of compliments, like how the girls looked pretty in their dresses and how the guys looked very handsome. Gradually, they coerced him into eating and even managed to get him to sleep, which were both things he needed. Only a few days later did Malakai left New Brunswick to live with his father in Lorsette, Newfoundland. For the most part, Malakai confined himself to his room where he would merely mope. That was when his father saw little choice, but to force Malakai to leave his room by taking him out with him. Although, this seemed to do little to brighten the young man's spirits. However, one of the days they went out they got caught up in the aftermath of a terror attack. That was when Malakai saw the field medics work, his father commenting on the Terror Response Syndicate's need for members. Thus, the young man decided to do something meaningful with his life and become a field medic. At the age of 20 Malakai first entered training he was rather nervous. Yet his anxiousness was not necessary considering the young man had learned plenty from when his mother would tend to the wounds she inflicted alongside his father who was formerly human. It seemed as though everything just came naturally to Malakai, and his skill was noted by his peers and professor. The patients in the medical ward did not mind him, although, they would comment on his shyness. However, what really caused Malakai to feel nervous was his field test. The support from his father and peers did assist in making the young man more confident. When it commenced, was when Malakai became a different person it seemed. He would not let patients push him around and would do what he was required to. Despite the fear eaters sounding like his mother at times, Malakai found that he was not bothered since he knew that his mother was not there. Although, he always finds that he stiffens when he first hears the noise or see her face. When the field test was completed, Malakai was informed that he passed with flying colours. Upon passing, Malakai was placed in unit 2's medical division as a field medic. For 2 years, Malakai worked hard for the Terror Response Unit. Despite the fear eaters displaying his darkest fears, the young man merely remained in the TRS since he believed it is one of the very worthwhile things he can do well. misc ● Malakai still gets very upset when people mention his mother or somehow notice his scars. ● Fears: His mother, spiders, crickets, confrontation, making mistakes. ● Likes: Making potions, working, kindness, mystery novels, tomes, helping others, tea. ● Dislikes: Yelling/loud noises, mean people, romance novels, watching horror movies alone, people seeing his scars. ● Malakai does dream of meeting a man he could love, but once he remembers what his mother said before she was taken away, he usually just forgets about the idea of finding someone. ● Due to his father's concerns about Malakai’s mental/emotional state, he does still live with his father. ● Malakai does tend to have a lot of nightmares, although, he often tries to keep this a secret. | roleplayer info ☆ NAME Chibi Magician ☆ RP EXPERIENCE About 7 years ☆ TIMEZONE Central Time ☆ GENDER Female ☆ AGE Nineteen ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS MALAKAI MOORS FELIX MELLOBROOK NATHAN BECKARD DESMOND WILTS KAITLYNN HARRIS FRITZ JACOBS NYLA KORVICH ARLO NORWOOD EMMERSON HALOGAN YVES LEVORA UMBERTO DARIAN VYLAD ZAIDER OCTAVIO KREMLEN BRASTI VANDERFELD PRESTON CLARK ZURIEL MARLINE PERSEPHONE ROSE LACHLAN FRAISER ALIANA LA ROSA CLYDE VELLESE ABEL MCCROFT ☆ FACE CLAIM DEAD BY DAYLIGHT, Dwight Fairfield ---------------------- THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO CHIBI MAGICIAN.
