Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Demetria woke up, having been sleeping at her desk again. Her computer sat on her desk open for her designs but the dress was half finished due to her falling asleep before she had finished it. She had gone four days without stopping to take the time to rest, it had caused her ten hours with work still needing to be finished right now. As far as she was concerned she had missed her deadline even though she didn't really have one. The benefit of your parents owning the company and you creating your designs on the sidelines for them to advertise and share the profit. She stretched in the chair before looking over at the computer screen once more, pulling up a color box to see which one might look better for the design so that she could go shopping for the fabric in the next couple of days. It had taken her another hour or so, she glanced at the time on the computer to see that it was nighttime.
She pushed her feet against the floor to force her chair to roll back before standing up. Going outside always gave her inspiration for new outfits but she wasn't ready for a new idea just yet, for now she would drink blood then decide on which stores to go to. She went into her kitchen and opened the refrigerator, pulling a bottle out and opening it up to drink it. Her parents had suggested that she get some so that she would be able to drink blood without having to make contacts with the humans directly. It was a nice idea seeing as she didn't want to talk with anybody else if she could help it. She finished the bottle and tossed it in her trash before grabbing her keys, cell phone, and wallet. She walked to her front door, opening it before exiting it, making sure the door was locked before closing it behind herself.
She then walked down the stairs of her apartment and headed towards the forests, deciding she would go shopping later. It was quiet outside, she couldn't help but feel slightly happy that she was alone out here. It was peaceful, unlike being in the city where no matter where you turned there was a person always there.
Valentine walked slowly towards a man who was holding his hands upright in defense. A sword dragged through the hard snow behind the vampire. It was glistening red with blood. Her other hand was against her side, several trails of blood was trickling through her fingers. Her eyes glowed a sickly red as she got closer and closer to the man. She was in the heat of something rather... ornery.
"Oh darling, I really wish you would have thought this through." She purred. Although this time her normally honey-slick voice was as sharp as the sword she dragged behind her.
When she knew she was close enough, Val snarled and quickly swung the sword from behind her to overhead. The man looked up in horror but he was quick to dodge out of the way. This left Valentine holding onto the hilt of a sword that was now very much stuck in the cold, hard Earth.
The vampire couldn't help but feel urged to run after the man. It would be so easy. He was much slower than she, after all. Instead, her red eyes seemed to glow bright as she removed her hand, the blood in her hand began to quiver before it hardened and formed into a throwing knife. A skill she sadly had to perfect in her days living in Salem.
With keen eyes, Valentine threw the makeshift knfe and watched as the man fell to the ground. Good. Valentine then ran over to him, jumping on the man and clamping her jaws around his neck and drinking. She drank and drank until there was nothing left to take. The act had been very barabric.
Val delicately wiped her mouth on the man's shirt, standing when she was finally done. Looking down at her mess, she tsked in disgust. "I got carried away. This hasn't happened since..." The words drifted off into the night air, nothing but silence surrounding her. If animals had been watching, surely they would still their tongues to avoid the savage beast from spotting them.
With regret, Valentine began to walk through the forest and towards her home. At least, much to her relief, she lived outside of Lorsette. She wouldn't have to sneak in, or risk being questioned bu police. There was blood everywhere. Her clothes were going to have to be dry cleaned. How annoying.
The wound that had previously been bothering her was already in the process of healing thanks to the delicious meal she ingested.
I'll have to go back to clean up my mess before anyone else finds it. No one knows my secret... but I musn't get sloppy now.
Demetria caught the scent of blood as she had walked into the forest. Why am I walking straight for it? She thought to herself as she continued walking forward. During the walk she had placed her wallet in her back pocket and keys in her left front pocket, choosing to keep a hold of her phone just in case she would need it. Besides it had the time so it was nice to be able to keep track of how long she could remain out here without being burned because she wasn't in the mood of applying sunscreen. A voice, she had heard her and it was coming from the direction she was currently walking in. I should head home but I'm curious, curious about the person I will find all the way out here. She soon came across a body laying on the ground, he was a body mess but the one who had killed him, they weren't in sight.
Judging by the voice she could have sworn she had heard on the way over here, she would assume that it might have been a woman but she couldn't be completely sure. She found herself staring down at the dead human before looking back over at the forest once more. She must be gone, though humans know about us, I can understand why some wouldn't want to stay and be noticed by them. She wasn't one for cleaning up some other vampire's mess but she couldn't bring herself to leave this man out here either. Inspiration.... It is strange what you can find if you really badly search for it. Though I normally design for anybody who is interested in making a purchase, I won't lie. I do favor the vampire population more than the rest, lets be honest here. I am one of them after all. She leaned over and picked the dead male up, slugging him over her shoulder despite the fact his blood would get all over her clothing.
Now, where should I hide you this time? She thought to herself as she looked around for a clear spot to dig a hole and bury him. With any luck she would remain alone for only a few more minutes. It hadn't crossed her mind that the other vampire might come back.
Valentine made it home and removed her clothes on her way to the bathroom. She walked naked most of the way, looking in the mirror at the nasty wound that had already stopped bleeding. Feasting was always the best healer. Like a health potion, one that Malakai could perhaps construct. Not that he would ever give one to her, she was sure.
After having a shower and putting on new clothes, the vampire gathered materials she would need to clean up: a body bag, gloves, shovel, and so on. Val was quick to run back to where she left the body, slowing when she picked up a scent that wasn't there before. Her nostrils flared as she tried to determine who- or what- was at the scene of the crime.
Valentine dumped the goods she was carrying behind a tree, deciding to use it as a shield as well. Curious and cautious, Valentine peaked her head out from behind the trunk. There she saw... nothing. But she had left the body right there! Someone- or thing- had obviously gotten to it.
The vampire, still careful, walked over to where she had left the body to inspect it. There was no evidence of someone dragging the body, meaning it had been picked up. At least that meant she wasn't dealing with wolves. And judging by the single track of footprints left in the snow, where was only one being involved. That made the vampire relieved.
Valentine began following after the footprints, craving to know who had so preciously began a clean-up that didn't belong to them. It didn't take long to find a woman with a dead man- the dead man- slung over her shoulder.
Clearing her throat, Valentine was aware to keep her distance. "Well, well, what have we found? I can only assume you're not human with the diligence you have used. Looking for a snack or are you simple a good Samaritan, darling?"
Demetria hadn't noticed the other vampire, she was too busy focusing on getting rid of this body to bother. When a voice had spoken from behind her, Demetria had turned her head to look over at her before rolling her eyes. "I'm not looking for a snack." She tossed the dead human off of her shoulder as she looked over at the other woman warily. "Your right, I'm not human, why would that matter though? I chose to move him so I did so." Though she knew that she wouldn't have bothered if this woman had bothered cleaning up her own mess right when it had happened. "You took your time coming back." She answered, having heard the woman's voice and remembering it from the time of finding the body with the woman not there to now.
She looked over Valentine, noticing that her clothes weren't dirty but that wasn't to say that she hadn't stayed nearby, she might have just avoided being messy in the first place. Though if that was the case, why did she wait till now to appear because of the body. Demetria couldn't help but wonder as she stood nearby him, watching Valentine closely. "If you plan on cleaning up your own mess, I'll just leave you to it, else it should be you leaving." She answered, though unlike Valentine, her outfit already had blood on it because the dead man had been slung on her shoulder. Well this sucks, though it really can't be helped I suppose. She thought to herself, somewhat annoyed to have to wash her blouse but at the same time wasn't completely bothered by it.
Though she had already fed, choosing animal blood even though it tasted differently than human blood still helped her keep moving. She was at full strength if needed be, using her abilities wouldn't be a problem at all.
