Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Life was different now, alone and in a new place. Everything felt like it was changing, becoming something different within his life. He was always prepared if the worst should happen, a thing that not everyone could boast about. There was only one way to guage which way his life wheel was spinning, and that was to carry on living it, and to see what the world around him became. He refused to become just a stationary bystander, letting the world pass him by, watch his own life go by. Meandering into the cafe, a place Vega was honestly destined to go to, his pale lavender eyes roamed over he interior quickly, but he doesn't know anyone inside. Even though the chances were always abysmally slim, he always checked before fully committing to entering, and now that he was certain, he was much more calm and sure, ready to relax.
Ordering the typical drink and confection, he patiently waited to get his order, before collecting them and going near a window to sit. Taking a bite of his delicious treat, he tilted his head ever so slightly, so that he could see anyone that passed by the cafe. Shifting his body into a much more comfortable position, the hood of his cat eared hoodie falls over more of his face.It had been a little bit since he had the luxury to relax like this, so he was starting to feel lulled somewhat, and more than a little bit tired. He had been travelling for quite some time, and really should have stopped at some point to properly rest.
Finishing the remains of his snack, he glances outside, before leaning his back into the cushion behind it. This was a place wholly unfamiliar to himself, though the atmosphere in here was the most calming thing he had felt in weeks, falling asleep here would be a bit obvious, and he was bound to attract some form of attention, especially if someone noticed he was unfamiliar, and falling asleep vulnerable was the last thing he really needed. He was small and it easily showed, as his hoodie looked to be at least a few sizes bigger than he was. The sleeves were at least a hand and a half longer than what he needed, and in general the hoodie just seemed to baggy. If someone were to get close, they would likely eventually notice the collar around his neck, and depending might find that strange as well. Staring aimlessly out the window, he considers his options. To stay awake, or to risk a nap.
Bosco was slowly adjusting to the fact that since he wasn't a canine he would have to go to school as Orion as his mother and aunt desired and upon coming home, having tutors to continue assisting with his studies in placing catch up. He didn't feel comfortable wearing these clothly and since his last escape, he had managed to figure out how to shift back into his canine form, but since then, it has been somewhat an on and off experience because he didn't have control over his shifts. In most cases, shifting into his canine form would be done on accident instead of on purpose. He had gone to school, kept his distance, slowly found himself learning, it was somewhat becoming easier even though he had a late start. He was supposed to be in high school and that is where he had been placed, however, only because it was promised he would be quick to play catch up else he could expect to be held back for the next couple of years until he could graduate. As soon as school finished, he was quick to head towards home, knowing the rules that had been placed before him as to avoid getting into trouble.
He was walking along the side walk, finding the different scents favorable even though he knew he couldn't have. He was passing by the Crescent Moon Cafe, finding it very tempting to go inside even though he didn't have any money to pay. It wouldn't be the first time he had attempted to go inside and it likely wouldn't be the last time either. He paused just outside the door, watching as others pushed open the door to go inside before he slowly followed them inside. He stood in line despite not having any money. It wasn't long before he was noticed, the girl escorted him from the line to take him to the door before opening it for him. "I'm sorry, but you must have money to order." She answered, watching as Bosco looked towards the ground before slowly walking away. He passed by the windows, finding it difficult to avoid peeking inside. During one of those times he noticed Vega. If they made eye contact, he'd quickly duck as means of no longer being in Vega's eye sight.
There had been someone there for the briefest of moments, and that was all it took to provide Vega with the barest hints of a surge of energy. Yawning a little from the lack of sleep he had overall, he stretched out his limbs in preperation of movement once more. Should he bring something along for the road? Glancing back out the window, he went back to the counter and got another treat just incase.
Once he had been passed the flaky confection, he turned his head towards the door. He didn't really feel threatened by the one he had noticed, wondering if the other had been hungry if he had been hanging around a place like this. He casually walks out of the place to go and look for the other, hoping that this wasn't another troublesome situation he would find himself in. If the other wasn't hungry why would he linger here? Turning his head he saw the other, someone that looked young just like himself. "Are you hungry? I brought a pastry if you want it." Vega was willing to share, considering he wasn't still hungry himself.
Bosco had ducked with the hope of not being noticed by Vega. It was a few minutes later that Vega had walked outside, the smell of the treat hit his nose and he couldn't help but crave it. It didn't take Vega long to find him, having been bent, holding his knees as he debated on heading home or waiting around here. He wasn't completely sure what he wanted besides the treats that they sold inside. He had been looking at the ground, a scent got his nose and he looked up to see Vega, whom he had peeked at earlier. He slowly started to shiver, fear of meeting this stranger for the very first time. Vega's words were calming as he asked if he was hungry before adding that he bought the pastry if he wanted it. The smell was so good, but his breathing resumed at a faster pace, struggling to calm his nerves. Slowly he shakes his head yes, but is unable to bring himself to mumble an answer.

Based off of the boy's reaction when Vega moves towards him, it's quite obvious he's been startled to have been noticed. Vega's eyes soften to try and look as unthreatening as he possibly can, wondering how the boy with the shocking yellow blonde hair has managed to survive while being so timid seeming. Was he abused? The thought of abuse made Vega's muscles tense beneath his coat, and his eyes to glance around them as if searching out an abuser.
Tilting his head slightly, Vega outstretches his arm towards the other boy, moving as little as possible to hopefull not further spook the other into further distress. The delicately wrapped confection sits on his outstretched palm, as he waits, offering the other no aggression with the offered treat. It was freely offered, and there was no way Vega was going to rescind on an offer he had already made.
Vega hadn't come here expecting to find someone who reminded him of himself, and now he wasn't really sure what to do now that he had found one. "You can call me Vega if you want." In the off chance a name offering would settle the other's anxieties, or maybe just the careful way he was offering the treat, and that might serve to bring the other a little bit out of his shell. "It's really okay for you to have it, don't worry."
Bosco watched Vega, finding his heart beating faster as his anxieties increased. The treat smelled so good and it was being offered to him. Vega had outstretched his arm towards him, slowly moving closer. Meanwhile he remained in his spot, feeling extremely nervous around Vega. The treat was within reach, since Vega had moved closer and he hadn't moved from his spot. He was reminded he needed to take deep breaths to calm himself, sometimes he was able to accomplish such a task while other times he wasn't able to calm himself which would require medical assistance. He listened as Vega gave off his name, "Ve... Veg... Vega..." He tried three times, each slow, before suddenly reaching for the treat. He then slowly started to bite into it, nerves slowly calming as he tried to feel relax. It was a struggle but that it how it always had been for him, when first meeting strangers. "Bo... Bosco, is my name." He whispered, through eating, still getting used to the idea of eating and speaking at the same time being rude.

Vega was no stranger to feeling down and out or hungry, but he had also learned from a young age how to be tough enough to survive all alone on his own, even though the way he had been toughened up was less than desirable. He usually stuck with only himself, feeling as though he didn't need the protection of others, and didn't want it. He felt safer on his own, even if being around others was beneficial at times, but even then some only cared for themselves.
"Do you live around here?" Vega figured Bosco did at least, the feeling of being watched tingling under his skin uncomfortably. He wasn't completely certain if he was being watched or not, but it really did burn under his skin like he was. He was more uneasy than scared, a little tense just in case, because for all he knew it was someone unfriendly. You can never be too careful, right? For now though, Vega kept his attention on the boy in front of him.
Bosco finished the treat that Vega had given to him, quiet until he heard the question. "Ye... yes." He answered, glancing around for a moment to see if Orion was around before looking back at Vega. "Do you live around here?" He whispers, having noticed that he appeared somewhat uneasy. "Th... thank you." He whispered, if there was one thing he learned from Orion it was to thank when given and though in the past he hadn't done so, he was slowly getting used to the idea. Besides Vega had been nice by buying that treat for him, he felt grateful.

Vega wanted a change of scenery, even if it was just for a little while. Anywhere at all was usually more than enough for him, anywhere that wasn't currently dangerous to him, but today something was rubbing him the wrong way. "I don't. I don't have a home anymore at all." Vega's voice is quiet but sure, a faint flicker of distance appearing in his eyes. He can still remember the horrible growling, the splattering of hot blood against his fur.
Vega felt as though someone was watching them, something was maybe listening in and tracking them, and he doesn't feel like fighting in such a tired state. If something did happen he could protect himself rather easily, but he was too tired to do much more than the bare minimum. He was used to running into trouble here and there, but he would rather get a rest in before the next issue arose.
Bosco flinched when he heard Vega's comment. "You... you don't?" He whispered, feeling so bad for him. "Come with me..." He whispered, slowly attempting to reach out to take Vega's hand in his own. It wasn't unusual for him to try and help somebody out like this, normally he was a coward that avoided other people because he wasn't familiar around them but as time had gone by, he slowly remembered his reason for shifting into a canine before he entered his new families lives. His mother had said she'd be back but it never happened and he had been bullied by some kids, so he shifted with the hope of them leaving him alone... but the time he was saved, he had planned on admitting he was a shifter and not a canine until he found out how much Orion despises supernaturals. To which, encouraged him to force himself to stay in his canine form as long as possible and later forgetting all about being a human, assisting with being a canine until he had suddenly shifted back from the thoughts swirling around in his mind. He wanted Vega to find a home too and he believed his family could help with that.

Bosco found himself looking at Vega. He was silent when given the answer, pausing with reaching out. He didn't have a home anymore, what exactly did that mean? He wanted to help Vega but he felt wary. If Vega wanted help, surely he would have come with him? "You okay?" He mumbled, desiring to confirm possible emotions. Though Vega seemed nice, he found himself slowly becoming nervous in his presence again.

Vega shakes his head, trying to clear away the clinging memories. ”I’m just a little sad and tired.” His voice is soft, though he gives a small nod. ”I’ll come with you.” He prepares to follow then, hoping that his willingness would help pick up the mood once again.
Maybe some part of him was worried about it, giving himself reservations on if this would all really be okay. What would he be able to do if something happened? At the very least, he wished for a safe place to sleep.
Bosco nods his head slowly as he listened too Vega. "Alright, follow me." He answered in return, slowly turning too lead the way. "My home is this way." He answered, peeking behind himself too check too see if Vega was following before looking forward once more. "I think you'll like it. I live with nice people." He answered, slowly getting used too the fact Orion wasn't too be called his master anymore.

He found himself feeling hopeful, that he would start to lead to a better situation. ”Okay?” As Bosco started to lead the way, Vega followed. This home, hopefully it was a happy one. The last thing he wanted was for another situation like his own, another dangerous situation he would be thrust into.
He is close behind the other, to make absolutely sure the both of them were safe. ”That sounds nice. I hope they don’t mind me.” It was a true hope, because even those who weren’t bad might not want him around. He was a strange child, dirty and exhausted.
