tadashi abbott tell me reality is better than a dream. general info
appearance Tall and slender, Tadashi stands at a height of 6’, allowing him to be taller than most people. He tends to find his body is better suited for running opposed to physical pursuits. The lean muscles which cover his slender frame assist in allowing him to run faster than other people. While he can still accomplished some harder hits, there are definitely plenty of people stronger than him. However, his naga genes make his body extremely flexible, allowing him to accomplish actions no regular human could ever dream of doing. A fair complexion covers Tadashi’s skin, flawless and beautiful to most individuals. Scars are lacking on Tadashi’s skin, and due to plenty of time spent taking care of it, his skin is soft. While his occupation is risky, Tadashi’s healing factor does allow him to avoid scaring entirely, even making it rare for him to have cuts. Tadashi’s face is composed of slender angles with a strong chin. High set cheekbones which lead down to sleek, pointed chin. He has an average sized nose with nothing particularly unique about his features. Sprouting from Tadashi’s head are thick, soft locks of red hair escape which he maintains excellently. He kept a majority of his wavy locks swept to a single side, each poking up and keeping a somewhat spiky appearance. Under a majority of circumstances, this is maintained because it is his favoured style. Centered on his eyes are a pair of brown eyes which are rather dull in comparison to other people’s. When transforming or partially transforming, Tadashi’s eyes become more snake-like, with pupils becoming slits. Clothing wise, Tadashi will wear anything that is comfortable and usually maintains a more casual style. Since his parents were gracious enough to allow him to attend public school, Tadashi wears casual clothing to blend in. He is hardly picky about it and will usually wear just about anything offered to him. The only clothing he is noticeably pickier with are formal garbs, mostly because he finds them restricting and uncomfortable. As a result, he rarely wears formal clothing and usually keeps the top buttons of dress shirts undone whenever possible. He despises suit coats and ties since his parents always require him to have his dress shirt tighter. Under all circumstances, Tadashi wears a temperature regulating charm which is a simple bracelet on his right wrist. When in snake form, Tadashi appears like red spitting cobra. He is slightly larger than most red spitting cobras, usually providing a hint about his naga ties. Beautiful red scales coat Tadashi’s snake form with the exception of a black ring around his neck. personality
abilities Poison Manipulation -- Advanced The ability to manipulate poisons, allowing the user to move liquid or gas forms. The user, if strong enough, can even create poisons. Similar to all nagas, Tadashi is plenty capable of manipulating poison; it was an ability taught in his family. In the Abbott family, they are instructed on poisons, specifically those which would in a less potent dose can paralyze a target, allowing them to flee. With his poison manipulation, Tadashi can recognize certain types of poisons, however, will be unaware of the effects it may have. Fluently, he can move poisons, but his creation is limited to what can be secreted from his mouth with the use of his venom glands. As a red spitting cobra, Tadashi can spit a usually non-lethal venom at people. The venom is designed to paralyze the target, however, on larger animals like people, it’s effects are non-lethal. This being said, the venom does cause fatigue and numbness of the lips, when spat into someone’s eyes, it can cause blindness if not treated quickly. Enhanced Speed -- Mastered The ability to run faster than the person with excellent fitness, allowing the user to accomplish incredible actions. Speed is something valued in the Abbott family because of their careers in scouting. Through years of training, Tadashi has learned to move quick and sharpen his reaction immensely. He can move quickly, and should he witness an oncoming attack, dodge without much issue. The defensive and endurance aspects of enhanced speed were improved by his parents’ rigorous training lessons. He can run for hours at an extreme speed, however, any faster and his stamina will begin to wear down. Attack wise, Tadashi could undoubtedly use some polish since his mastery is mostly related to running and quickly timed parkour movements. Weakness comes with his muscles since extensive use can easily fire them and manifest soreness. Should Tadashi go overboard, he could be bedridden for days. Snake Shifting -- Mastered The ability to transform into a snake or even partial transform to have the lower half of a snake. Taking on the form of a snake is extremely useful for sneaking around guarded locations. Despite Tadashi‘ scales being a bright red, his smaller size allows him to smoothly hide and avoid detection. In this form, he can slither up things and move quicker than in human form. When half shifted, Tadashi can still move quickly, but is bigger with plenty of extra length because of his lower snake body. Frequently, he uses this form to safely hang from roof rafters to listen to conversations. It takes Tadashi approximately 20 seconds to transform, and during this time he is vulnerable to attack. If severely wounded, Tadashi will automatically shift back into human form, even if he is only half shifted. When shifted, he is more vulnerable to the cold. Hypnosis -- Advanced The ability to control someone through hypnotism, allowing the user to use varying methods to get the individual to obey their every command. With the power of his eyes, Tadashi can essentially persuade people to accomplish whatever task he wishes. For Tadashi, this ability leans heavily on persuading the other person into doing the desired task. His eyes play heavily into this ability and same with his voice, a mixture of both intensifying the ability. Similar to some snakes in movies, Tadashi can stare deep into somebody’s eyes and persuade them to do things they would never dream. Hypnosis emphasizes the allure in his voice and tries to place the target into a trance, allowing Tadashi to persuade them with ease. This ability can be blocked by mental shields and even resisted, especially if eye contact is broken and/or ears are plugged. Naturals: Minor Healing Factor, Poison Immunity, Enhanced Flexibility, Magic Tasting weakness notes Cold Weather Similar to snakes, Tadashi struggles in cold weather, however, this is his most notable weakness. When cold, Tadashi’s body will react similarly to a snake’s, meaning he will enter brumation if placed under these stresses. This brumation state results in the slowing of Tadashi’s metabolism, making him extremely lethargic. Exposure to cold fronts will result in these animal instincts kicking into overdrive, meaning Tadashi will find the warmest place to hide with intent of sleeping through the cold. Should he fail, Tadashi could potentially perish from the cold exposure. Attacks related to cold weather can trigger these instincts if exposure is prolonged and manages to make Tadashi extremely cold. When in these brumated states, it can reach lengths of making it very difficult for Tadashi to move. Should his brumation state go on for a lengthy period of time, Tadashi does risk starving because of the lethargic feeling. Once brought up to a warmer temperature, Tadashi is capable of moving to sunbathe or find other methods to gain warmth. backstory Prestigious and wealthy, the Abbots are infamous for being high-ranking scouts for the TRS. Their naga genes allowed them to move quickly and sneak around without issue, thus they considered it their duty as one of Enki’s creatures. For centuries, those of the Abbot family followed the tradition of training to become a scout. Bound to tradition and armed with years of history, anybody would expect each Abbot to refuse to break them. Through the years, arranged marriage resulted in Samuel Abbot marrying the hand chosen woman. They searched for years to look for a woman with suitable blood, and they were fortunate. Naga blood was strong in Jenna Claire and she possessed a charming personality. They were quick to fall head or heels for one another. When they married, the pair had a strong relationship, providing those old traditions with some validation. Shortly after marriage, Samuel and Jenna began having children to continue the family line. First born was a son named James, the second a young girl they named Marie then as the third child was Tadashi. Three marvellous children all born with the crucial naga blood the family adored. The parents could never be happier with the children they had. Expectations weighed on all of them, seemingly endless with how their family would plan their education. All three attended public school despite their wealth, but also received lessons at home to assure they were provided the best education. Private tutors went through the house constantly, training all three children to excel in their courses. From a young age, Tadashi would learn the weight of the Abbot name. Intelligent, quick-thinking and capable were the expectations of Abbots, especially considering that in the future they would become scouts. Tutors handled a majority of their education, but their father personally handled their scout training. Exercise began as small games meant to allow the children to develop stamina for their future careers. Abilities were started in small amounts, subtle and safe actions which allowed their children to be safe. At first, everything was enjoyable with many games Tadashi was allowed to play with his siblings. It was mostly races or anything which involved running around the yard for a few hours for some proper exercise. Those were the carefree days where worries about traditions were minimal and only vaguely noticeable. Although, when Tadashi was 8, his parents began introducing him to the young, female children of other families with strong naga genes. Unfortunately, his input would be unheard when his parents discovered a girl of favourable genes and a family willing to marry her off once she became 18. The girl was approximately two years younger than Tadashi, a supposed angel in front of adults, but a spoiled brat around him. She was demanding, especially when she learned Tadashi would be her future husband. She always stated he needed to be the perfect husband, but these “lessons” were something Tadashi despised. From a young age he hated the girl his parents expected him to marry, however, he felt duty bound as an Abbot. Upon turning 10, Tadashi began noticing how incredible hunters were. Heroes, saving people from the threat brought forth by the Assembly of Phantoms. They were conquerors of the battlefield, saving anybody who required their aid. He fancied the notion of being a hunter, however, his parents consistently mentioned him and his siblings being scouts. As a result, he remained hushed for the time being about his real dream. Alas, as the years ticked on, the possibility of becoming a hunter slipped further and further from his grasp. Thus, the young child resigned himself to acceptance, especially when their training began intensifying. His father stated the importance of scouting, placing it onto a grand pedestal as he explained how significant the job was. The training remained geared to scouting, although, when self-defence lessons began, Tadashi paid close attention in hopes of possibly improving his fighting ability. Years were passing, the clock ticking closer to when he would be expected to marry the spoiled brat his parents picked out as a potential future wife. Thoughts of registering a complaint never crossed Tadashi’s mind. He believed he would be trapped by the possibility unless he discovered a way to make his fiance decide otherwise. At 13, he thought he discovered the method to make him repulsive to her. Even when in her presence, Tadashi would start flirting with other men and women in hopes she would break off the engagement. She would be furious and scream at him on plenty of occasions, but she never broke their engagement. The young man would receive disappointed glances from his parents, but he never ceased. He desired to escape from an arranged marriage. Dreams of becoming a hunter were already abandoned, thus he would be damned if he was tied down to a woman he hated. Alas, the task appeared more difficult than he liked. At 15 a beautiful girl joined their school, thus Tadashi began flirting. Listing off flirtatious remarks became a hobby he enjoyed after all. Shortly after their first interaction, Tadashi learned the individual was a boy. Alas, the torrent of flirtatious comments failed to cease after learning the interesting fact about the individual. When searching for men to flirt with, Tadashi would usually pick those who appeared more feminine. Admittedly, he found it an attractive quality, thus he had no qualms continuing his relationship with the young boy named Ian Mitchell. Each second he flirted with Ian was enjoyable to Tadashi, particularly when it came to teasing the young blond. He believed they were approximately the same age and never even asked about how old Ian was. Flirting remained consistent, going lengths of the pair stealing kisses and dating despite Tadashi’s engagement to the vile woman. Ian was plenty of firsts despite Tadashi being engaged, most specifically being the first person he was ever intimate with. Unlike the woman he was expected to marry, Tadashi loved Ian. There was a playfulness to his actions and his timidness was an adorable trait. As their relationship proceeded, Tadashi learned his boyfriend was younger than expected. At the time, Tadashi was 18, therefore making Ian a minor. The pair kept their relationship going, but restrictions were placed on what they could do together for the time being. Everything was secretive, but the privacy in their romantic involvement was pleasant nonetheless. Around this time, the school was attacked which was a scary situation. As somebody trained to defend himself, Tadashi assisted where he could to avoid anybody else getting injured during the altercation. It was his first experience helping others, but it made Tadashi happy, alas, these moments of playing hero would be rare. Months later, they went on a ski trip, much to Tadashi’s disdain. The entire motivation to go was to spend more time with his secret boyfriend. On one of the evenings, Tadashi noticed Ian leave the large cabin they were staying in, thus he followed. The naga was terrified of freezing to death, but he was worried about his boyfriend. When he found them, they talked for a while, Tadashi learning more about the boy he loved, specifically about his family life. The moment Ian blamed himself for the attack on the school, Tadashi refused to believe it was his fault. The Assembly of Phantoms had attacked schools before, thus would it not be an inevitable fate? After their conversation concluded, the pair decided to head back to the cabin. The frozen ice beneath them was hidden by snow, the loud crack only being heard when Ian fell through into the icy depths. Everything proceeded in slow motion as Tadashi watched his boyfriend disappear below the ice. Fear was fought against as Tadashi shouted Ian’s name before diving in to help his boyfriend to the surface. Once dragged on shore, the cold lovers snuggled in an attempt to regain warmth. Traveling in soaked clothes back to the cabin would be a difficult and frigid task. The moment they were prepared to move, Tadashi shifted into a snake and with his boyfriend’s permission, sought refuge beneath Ian’s shirt. Nagas were cold blooded, thus Tadashi was struggling to regain warmth. With the assistance of his boyfriend, they managed to get back to the cabin where they were sent home to rest afterwards. Months later arrived graduation, Tadashi being promptly signed up to join the TRS as a scout. He graduated quickly from the TRS and began working as a scout in unit 3. Currently, there is one more year until he will be forced to marry his fiance. misc - Likes: Flirting, teaching, fighting, warm places, sunbathing, warm baths, snuggling, sleeping, casual clothes, being comfortable, parties, spending time with people, socializing, conversation, sports, soda, running, practicing, card games, heroes - Dislikes: Arranged marriage, traditions, the cold, winter, ice cream, formal clothing/events, monopoly, news channels, spicy foods, gold diggers, boring movies, reading, slowness, lazy people, lectures, his fiance, snobs, snooty people, spoiled brats, being alone - Fears: Freezing, winter, not having a temperature regulating bracelet - Tadashi has always wanted to be a hunter instead of a scout, however, his fears of disappointing his parents keep him from that goal, especially since his consistent flirting already does that. - He dreads the day he is forced to marry his fiance because he finds the woman despicable. - Tadashi flirts and cheats in hope his fiance will call off the marriage and nobody would be arranged to marry him. - His soulmate is Ian Mitchell | roleplayer info ☆ NAME chibi magician ☆ RP EXPERIENCE about 8 years ☆ TIMEZONE central ☆ GENDER female ☆ AGE twenty ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS MALAKAI MOORS FELIX MELLOBROOK NATHAN BECKARD DESMOND WILTS KAITLYNN HARRIS FRITZ JACOBS NYLA KORVICH ARLO NORWOOD EMMERSON HALOGAN YVES LEVORA UMBERTO DARIAN VYLAD ZAIDER OCTAVIO KREMLEN BRASTI VANDERFELD PRESTON CLARK ZURIEL MARLINE PERSEPHONE ROSE LACHLAN FRAISER ALIANA LA ROSA CLYDE VELLESE ABEL MCCROFT HARRISON ACASTER WREN CATO RAMAGI VAUGHN MALLORI ISIDORE VYNLAY NOAH SULLIVAN KANO MIKAZUKI JAYDEN MILTON LAURENT MAYTHORN AVERY REEVES GWEN LA’ VARRIE NAOMI BLACKWATER BRAM VAN DIJK AARUSHI CALDWELL XENO MCFALLON ZEKE DURMONT ADAIR “AMON” FELLSPARK QUINN ABRAHAM ORION HOLLINS SLADE ETHIUM RAYLAN FOX WALLACE BOGDAN HAO ZHAO OZIAS ABRAMS RUSSEL NAULTY PEYTON HAYES LIAM BELMONT ☆ FACE CLAIM FIRE EMBLEM, sylvain ---------------------- THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO CHIBI MAGICIAN.
