Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

i can't tell you how much i wish i didn't wanna stay
her hand covered her mouth as a small yawn escaped her lips. you would think she would be used to this by now. her father asking for her help. well, it wasn't a request more like a demand and being the good daughter that she was, she simply nodded and told him she would be there. honestly she still couldn't figure out why they needed her there. if anything her brothers were the ones that were doing more important work. lately it seemed she spent more time with them than anyone else. she sat at a desk that wasn't hers, just trying to pass the time. she had already finished her assignments and was more or less waiting for further instructions. she didn't mind the work all that much. it was more the fact that she had to wait around for what seemed hours and of course the dress code. she wanted her jeans and comfy shirts and of course her flats. the business world didn't interest her i the slightest.
glancing at the time on her phone she told herself five more minutes and she was making a break for it. surely they wouldn't miss her. how many times had she left without telling them? of course she didn't do this all the time. the last thing she needed was to be caught. she counted down the last few seconds as she quickly gathered her things. which weren't too many. just her phone and her bag that had the essentials stuffed in various pockets. her wallet, some gum, lip balm and anything else she had randomly thrown in.
she didn't rush out the door. she walked at a moderate pace so she wouldn't draw attention to herself. hoping no one stopped her along the way. though she was ready with an excuse if asked where she was headed. which wasn't a complete lie. she simply wasn't going to come back. withholding the truth wasn't the same as lying right? well, she wasn't going to ponder that too much. she wanted out and she wanted coffee. those where her main objectives.
it almost seemed to easy as she walked out the front door. though she wouldn't count victory till she had a coffee in her hands. it wouldn't take her too long to get there. she just hoped it wasn't too crowded.
Lock smiled as he looked at himself in the mirror, he was wearing a suit and tie like normal. Making sure his tie was proper, there were no creases in his suit to make sure he was presentable. He walked through the halls of his house, his footsteps echoing through the empty halls. Pictures lined the walls, some were black and white and some were colored. There were even a few old timey painted portraits. All these things have in common, they all had him on them, his white hair and red eyes were easily noticeable. This just proved how old Lock was, Lock sighed as he looked side to side with many of the pictures that were of him and the units he was in during war time as so many of his friends passed away. Shit he needed to get out of the house, place was too depressing for him to be alone while in the house. It didn’t help that the club pretty much managed itself. As Lock left the house, he wandered around the city for a bit.
After a while he decided he could go for some tea, his friends in the army always told him he drank too much of the stuff, but it had a relaxing quality to it, unlike coffee. He could really use it right now. As he walked past a certain lady with purple hair and blue eyes he immediately halted in place a wave of memories long past came rushing back to him. Uruk was so beautiful, and she nursed him back to health. He shook himself out of it and realized he was staring hopefully he wasn't found to be creepy. “Um...excuse me miss with the purple hair...no nevermind” it couldn’t be her it was longer than any human could live which the woman from Uruk was just a normal human this was just his mind trying to make a connection where there was none.

so there was a couple of people standing in line. though it wasn't too many. it seemed like most were ordering their drinks and food items fairly quickly. her on the other hand had gone in thinking she was going to get one thing and now she found herself deciding on something completely different.
everything looked so good. if she got a pastry her drink choice would more than likely change. she wasn't ready to order yet so she stood a ways back. so she wouldn't hold up the line for anyone else. she continued looking at the menu trying to decide if she wanted to do lunch. she was pretty hungry, after all she had missed breakfast that morning. usually she had time, but this morning it was a tad difficult. she moved a couple of steps and stopped as she tried to take a closer look at the specials.
someone called her out and she instinctively tucked strands of her hair behind her ear. she looked at the man a bit confused. had she moved too far up and cut him in line? how embarrassing. she was so engrossed within her own thoughts she wasn't aware of her surrounds."oh, im sorry i didn't mean to cut in front of you."she was quick to apologize before stepping back.
Now that Lock got a closer look at her she looked exactly the same it was amazing. Lock calmed himself though. “Oh I’m sorry you reminded me of someone else, you didn’t cut in front of me I apologize,” Lock said politely to the young woman in front of him. “Ah how rude of me, please allow me to pay for whatever you were going to purchase, ah how rude of me, my name is Lock Michelangelo Giovanni it is a pleasure to meet you miss?,” Lock introduced himself with a polite bow. He had to at least do that much for her especially for bothering her like that. He was embarrassed at himself for being so soft headed to think the girl from Ururk was still alive. Though he was still curious about this young woman. Mayhaps it was she looked like her, or perhaps it was something else.
Today certainly will keep his mind off of all the allies he lost in wars over the many many years he has been alive. Though it put his mind on a girl he thought he would ever be reminded of again, then again he never expected to meet her modern clone. It was a blast from the past certainly, at least these memories were more pleasant ones.

she had a habit of getting lost in her own thoughts. moving when she thought the line was moving. eyes had still be fixed on the menu. it's why she had assumed she had accidentally cut in front of him. she sighed softly, glad to know that it hadn't been the case."oh, no you don't have to. that's alright. no harm done."madelyn added with a smile. besides she was still deciding on what to get. she would probably stare at the menu for another second or two before picking something she was familiar with.
with a bow he introduced himself."nice too meet you i'm madelyn washington."she said with a smile. even now she still had a habit of going by her maiden name. it was something she would eventually get used to. it didn't matter to her really. it was just a silly last name.
"well, i'm still deciding if you want to go ahead of me. i don't mind."she told him with a nod. maybe unlike her, he already knew what he wanted. if he was in a hurry she didn't want to keep him with her indecision.
Madelyn Washington huh? She’s really beautiful. Far too kind as well she wouldn’t even let him buy for her, he relented of course she was her own woman. She wanted him to go first if that’s what she wanted after all women were always right. “Well if you insist I thank you for your kindness Madelyn,” he smiled at her. He went up to the counter "one black tea if you would, also for the woman behind me I'll pay for whatever pastry she want’s,” Lock said with a smile paying for the two items plus a sizable tip to the cashier.
He then waited for his order which surprisingly came quite quickly. He then went to sit down at one of the booths. To enjoy his black tea. A smile on his face he paid for a pastry for her it’s the least he could do. He was far too soft sometimes though. He wondered if he had a thing for women with purple hair.

she nodded."yes, of course. it's no problem at all. i'm not going to make you wait."she told him once more before stepping back. she figured she would have to make a decision sooner or later. might as well get in line before more people start coming in. she eventually settled on a drink and a blueberry muffin. she was ready to pay for both her items when the cashier told her that her muffin had already been paid for.
being the curious person that she was, she quickly asked who it was. could it had been the guy in front of her? that was so nice of him. the cashier pointed him out. it seemed like he hadn't left the cafe, but had taken a seat inside. she paid for her chai latte and once her order was ready she figured she would say thanks. she slowly made her way over to where he was seated."thank you for my muffin. you didn't have too, but thank you."she told him with a smile."if anything i should of treated you."

[attr="class","ayab-m-text"] Lock was roused out of his thoughts when the purple haired woman came over to him. She then thanked him, it warmed his heart to see someone thankful for such a small deed. “No, it was no problem at all, I mistook you for someone you are not, I felt like an old fool because of it,” Lock explained to Madelyn. Then he took a sip of his tea to calm his nerves, whoever says you forget things the more years go by was wrong he remembered way too many things clearly. “Ah would you care to join me for a chat, as long as you are not too busy I’d hate to distract you from something important,” Lock decided to ask her quickly, changing the subject from his very far past. The fallen angel then locked his crimson eyes with the blue eyes with the woman in front of him awaiting her answer.
i can't tell you how much i wish i didn't wanna stay
she laughed softly before shaking her head."it was an honest mistake, i'm sure it happens all the time. not just to you i'm sure."she was surprised at the gesture. him asking her to join her. not that that was odd or anything. she just hadn't been expecting it after all he had just bought her the muffin. she smiled and shook her head."no, i don't have much to do. just some errands, but i can do those later."she nodded before setting her stuff down and taking a seat.
she wasn't to worried about being late for work. after all it wasn't the place she wanted to be. if only her father would fire her, that would be great! she had refused something before and it went very well. though when it had come to this job, she was told no. of course she didn't try too hard. if anything she was doing what she was told. she took a sip of her drink
