Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
The cocked eyebrow hadn’t gone unnoticed to Alida, although it was easily dismissable when he turned her comment into a joke. “...I take it that isn’t one of Lorsette’s strong points with you?” ‘With you’ insinuated that he didn’t feel the same way as her statement, and Alida remembered her mother and Mrs. Shephard’s words about Lorsette being “different”. Although, that thought didn’t make much sense in relation to this guy, considering he had just moved here. Unless he had sought out Lorsette for that very reason.
“I don’t believe in this whole utopia bullshit Lorsette has going on.” Alida stated rather intensely, with a serious expression, as she stared Nicolas down. “Earth and Heaven are always on one side and the Hell and Undead on the other. Lorsette just feels more dangerous with how many different species there are, rather than the haven everyone keeps spouting about.”
“Anywhere can be dangerous if you don’t keep your guard up. I’ve lived on both sides, and can tell you it all sucks.” The dirty blond responded, and Alida had to admit that it made her curious as to what he was referring to. But, then again, she wasn’t even really sure why she was talking about all of this. How had this conversation even come up? She really was too tired for her own good.
“But hey, you got nothing to worry about though, anyone who f***s with you is as good as dead,” He unexpectedly joked, a large smirk spreading across his features as he gave her a sidelong glance, and Alida actually laughed. His statement had been funny, and she took it as a compliment.
“Hopefully,” She replied rather modestly, her expression sombering somewhat as her laughter faded. “Glad to know I’m not just paranoid or something,” She added in an attempt to lighten the mood, and with a bloom of her own grin, she reached over and playfully punched Nicolas in the shoulder.
Nicolas laughed and Alida’s smirk only widened as he commented on how she still obviously had plenty of fight left in her. The joking aside, though; she actually didn’t. She was seriously exhausted, in the sapped-of-all-power sort of way, but she wasn’t going to admit that to anyone.
The conversation took a serious tone, however, when Nicolas brought up the fact that he didn’t find her concerns paranoia at all. Although his comment made them like-minded, Alida couldn’t help the dark thoughts that loomed over her like a thick cloud. A lot of the demons who had attended Corner Brook highschool had probably been just like this guy. If they hadn’t of been so goddamn prejudice, then this could have been her life. Joking, laughing, having a casual conversation. Actually getting along, making friends.
Tch. Soured her mood right up. This whole thing was starting to piss her off, as it was just a reminder of what could have been hers, but never would be. Unless she wanted to live her whole life under the veil of a lie.
“But hey… did you want me to walk you home or… is that too weird?”
Her smile came back, although this time there was a hint of malice within it as she socked him another good punch right at the exact same area on his arm, her smile broadening with perhaps a inkling of sadism.
“You…!” Nicolas actually became so frazzled and tongue-tied by her joke that it actually caught Alida off guard. “No, I just, I don’t know!” He really had no idea, did he? Suddenly, the dirty blond was launching off of the bench, and Alida just burst out laughing by that point, her eyes following him with mirth and incredulousness. “Now just for that I’m walking you home, come on.”
“That doesn’t really help your case!” She managed to get out through her laughter, her eyes actually tearing up as she stood from the bench and had to place one of her hands on her stomach because, damn, the laughing actually made it hurt.
“Wow, what I would give to have taken a picture of that,” She continued on, wiping at her eyes a bit. She set her sharp pair of eyes onto him and then abruptly jumped back, pretending to be him, her face aghast and red with embarrassment; “What! No! I don’t know! Maybe?? Just shut up, I’m taking you home!” She mimicked a ‘manly’ voice, and most of the bitterness and anger, if not all, had completely flitted away.
“Remember what I told you…!” Nicolas interrupted, and Alida went quiet just to stand tall, place her hands on her hips, and smirk at him. “Everyone is dangerous even me, so stop joking around so much with strangers.” He actually chastised her, causing Alida’s expression to soften somewhat, but it didn’t stop her from still giving him a dismissive wave, as though she had decided he was no threat at all.
“Do you want me to walk you home or not?” He demanded, and Alida hesitated for a moment, taking in a deep breath of the crisp night air. She looked around the area, the headlights on the cars, and the illumination from the streetlights.
“No, Nicolas, I don’t need you to walk me home.” She decided after a long pause, and finally brought her mahogany gaze back to him, her hands slipping into the pockets of her black jeans. “I’m a big girl, I’ll be fine.” She didn’t want the responsibility of him becoming more than just a random guy she met at the park one time. If she showed him where she currently lived, that could open up the opportunity for them to meet up again. As far as she was concerned, she’d probably never run into him again. Lorsette was a large city and dense in population.
She gave him a smile, and even extended her hand for a handshake. “But, it was nice meeting you. What a wild, crazy, night we had.”
