Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

If there was one thing that Althea hasn’t exactly tried yet, it was gambling. She knew she was also a responsible one though, she knew to have a few games and if the fun stops, then she will stop. Funnily enough, she would rather dance. She has a show coming up in a few days and it has to be done if she wants to really show her love of dancing.
Entering the downtown area, the girl decided to look for a casino of sorts. She knew that casinos appear all over the place. It was sort of like that at her home place, not that she will admit that willingly.
There she found it, a casino!
“Perfect!” The girl said as she walked over to the entrance of the casino. She was lucky she looked 21, if she looked any younger than she would have probably been asked for some form of ID, but what does she know, things have changed in the 56 years she was alive. Her aging is slow and that’s all that matters.
Althea slowly gotten anxious when she finally entered the casino and she was mildly surprised at what she saw. It was bustling, yes, but it also seemed to be very friendly. Lots of lights were flashing around, and in the centre was a roulette wheel, along with a table. The table looked like it had numbers on.
Biting her lower lip, Althea then walked and glanced around, maybe this place was not for her. She was for the stage, not a casino. Then again, maybe there’d be some slot machines! She always wanted to try those.
Ichiro wore a sky blue dress shirt with black slacks. He sat at a table with cards in his hand, playing poker against his opponents. This being one of his favorite games to play, of course it was much more fun with friends but this would have to do for now. Besides he never felt guilty when he won against these people. Within a few minutes, he set his cards down, winning again. The people at his table had become tired of his winning streak, slowly standing up from the table they had moved away from him. He slowly stood from the table too, ready to head home, but there was no harm in trying his luck at the slots before leaving, right? He moved towards the counter to collect his money before moving towards the slot machine to give it a try. He took a seat and placed a quarter instead before pulling the leveler.
The ones to the left started spinning before it landed, next the middle, before the last one spun. Two out of three matched before he sighed. These games were always a matter of time, there was no luck about them. He would place another quarter in, curious on how long it would take before he would win. He adjusted himself on the seat to become slightly more comfortable. The person right next to him had left before somebody else had moved to take a seat, they had pulled the leveler, winning on their first time. What the.... He thought to himself, noticing them leave. How did they do that? He thought to himself, placing another quarter in, though he was paying attention as the person played the machine for a bit before leaving. They only won once and yet... it was a lucky first time.... Unlike him who kept getting two out of three matches.
On the search for the slot machines, Althea looked around in the different isles, there was one for roulette, another for blackjack, there was also a rather large table for poker, although Althea would probably never attempt to go to that length to gamble.
Glancing around once more, she finally found the slot machines, and there was quite a few of them too. Only a few were occupied and thus, it wouldn’t be so embarrassing for Althea if she turned out to be a sore loser. In fact, someone was leaving just as she arrived. They looked like they had a good time, their grin was huge and they were even squealing in delight. Did they win?? There was no other way to explain why they were so happy.
Nonetheless, the dancer got herself to try them eventually, she just stood there for a few seconds and waited till she felt really good with one of the slot machines, and so she sat down. With this, she sat herself down near a blue haired male, but didn’t take notice of him much. With this, she placed a quarter in and started reeling the slots.
“One seven… two seven… one pair of cherries! Doh!” She exclaimed before facepalming. “Okay… maybe a few more chances… then I will give it a rest. I need to keep the rest of my money to travel for dances…”
Ichiro had noticed that winner leave before a woman had taken a seat next to him. I wonder how her luck will be. He thought to himself as he glanced over to see if she was going to win or lose like he had done when he first had come out here. He pulled the leveler, watching as he finally managed to get three matches. "Finally...." He mumbled to himself as he took his winnings from the machine. He adjusted himself on his seat, finding himself placing yet another quarter in the machine before pulling the leveler. As he experienced prior, he lost and he couldn't help but sigh at the failed matches as he sat at the machine, debating on going another round or if it was time for him to head home. He placed another quarter in the machine, pulled the leveler, doing this a few more times, receiving his losses. I should have gone home.... He thought to himself before slowly standing from the chair, just as he was about to move away, he had noticed a lurker near the slots looking at his spot.
So he sat back down, already believing that he knew what they planned on doing with his spot once he was out of sight. That person continued staring at him, somebody a few rows down had finished with the slots and stood up to leave, the lurker had taken their spot before placing a quarter in to pull the leveler, they didn't win on the first time. He had placed the quarter in the slot machine, somewhat watching the lurker as they put another quarter in. He pulled the leveler and got another match. Alright, I'm done. He thought to himself, happier when the lurker once more lost at the slots. It served them right for taking the spot just after another person had lost a few times.
Not paying attention to much else, Althea placed in another coin. She was unaware of her surroundings at this point, and just smiled softly to herself. She wanted to only play a few games of this, she didn’t feel ready enough to make friends in a casino out of all places.
“One seven… two sevens… oh my goodness...”
A third seven…
Althea pulled off a third seven. Her machine started going absolutely wild as it started to flash all over the place. Naturally, this also meant money was pouring out, and oh boy, it did its job well.
Quickly, the seemingly young woman looked around, grabbed what appeared to be a spare tub on top of one of the machines and shoved it where the money was pouring out. She immediately got to work.
Her face was priceless, she didn’t expect that to happen. A few people who were around her at the time seemed a little shocked too.
“I think… I better take my leave… that felt too socially awkward.” She admitted to herself before finishing up on getting the coins and then making her way out the casino quickly.
“I’m only used to this many people staring at me when I am dancing.” She mumbled to herself.
@ichiro OOC Note: This coding will remain the same I promise xD
Ichiro was too busy paying attention to the lurker to notice the woman right next to him had won. The noise startled him at first, but then he remembered that it made that noise when a person won. So he side glanced to see the woman next to him, collecting her winnings. It was around this time he had heard her comment and smiled slightly before placing another quarter in the machine before pulling the lever once more. Of course he hadn't gotten a match but he wasn't really focused on the machine anyway. The woman had made another comment and he found himself glancing at her once more. "Well I think leaving is a good idea but not because it would be socially awkward, these machines are meant to steal your money until you grow bored and leave." He whispered back to her, knowing fully well she hadn't been talking to him but it wouldn't matter, he chose to talk to her and that was all that mattered.
Once more he placed a quarter in, it honestly didn't matter how many times he played this game, he wasn't about to go poor despite the many loses he got from it. Though for it to be worth it, he might as well stay until he wins at this point. Look at that lurker, still trying to win. He thought to himself, annoyed when they had managed to score a win before grabbing their money and leaving. Of course I know they will be back once they have reason to believe they'd win. No sense in them sticking around to waste their money, oh no.... They'll wait until somebody else had wasted a lot of time on the machine before taking it over. He thought to himself before losing at the machine once more. He again put another quarter in before pulling the lever. To his surprise he won again. Once more he collected his winnings before standing from his side. There was no sense in remaining here, not when he could be gambling at one of the few tables nearby. It wasn't like he had company that he had the worry of possibly ditching, right?
