Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Silas felt calmer when Umberto rubbed his back, it seemed all would be okay after all. Now that he was with Umberto, he would never part from him again, or at least that had been his goal. He was happy to hear the exchange between Umberto and Alec, though when Umberto told him that he didn't need to apologize just be more careful, he nodded his head. He didn't want to get hurt either, but most of all, he didn't want to worry Umberto ever again. He had apologized to Alec, noticing the grip tighten slightly from Umberto. It had confused him. He hugged Umberto tighter, rubbing his back slightly as to try and comfort him. For some reason the conversation had gone silent and he couldn't help but believe he had been the reason behind it. When Alec had made his suggestion, he had glanced in his direction to listen to him.
"Around the house would be good because I'm not used to going there...." He mumbled his agreement, feeling ashamed that he still hadn't gotten used to the location. Going home shouldn't be as hard as his memory had made it out to be. "Having a phone would be a good idea.... I'm sure I had one prior but I don't know what happened to it." He couldn't help but wonder if he had left it at home or if the people who had killed him had damaged it prior to murdering him. All he knew was when he came back as a wraith, he didn't have one on him. "At least then I can give my closest location.... this building seemed like a good choice because I was hoping somebody could help me get in contact with you." He explained to Umberto, seeing as he had rejoined and all.
Despite the abundance of people, Umberto softly snuggled Silas, concern over his beloved husband resulting in him being affectionate in the situation. While he understood the necessity for safe wandering, he was scared at the notion of the redhead leaving by himself. The evening he died, Silas had left home alone to never return, which made the blue-haired man possessive over who spoke with his husband. As he kept the wraith close, Umberto proceeded to softly rub his back, attempting to keep him soothed. The tightening of the embrace was comforting, the familiar reciprocating the action. There was a pleasant warmth to their hug, Umberto feeling calmed from their close proximity. As he felt Silas proceed to rub his back, the familiar melted, enjoying the attempt to soothe his concerns through the small action. This wonderful redhead was nothing, but spectacular in his opinion.
The suggestion from the blond resulted in Umberto flinching from the solution provided; something he should have already accomplished. He supposed after Silas returned, he got distracted by finally being able to happily hold his husband once again. The familiar's embrace tightened as he hid his face in the redhead's shoulder, embarrassed about never getting Silas a new phone. Part of him remained fragile after the encounter with Sonya, his capability in protecting his beloved husband being thrown into question on the day. Admittedly, Umberto desired to keep the wraith inside to avoid the possibility of the Assembly discovering his return; he could not lose Silas again. There was a silent pause from the familiar when his husband agreed, his grip tightening again.
"... I'm sorry... I should have done that before this happened," he mumbled in a whisper to his husband.
There was silence from Umberto as he remembered that unfortunate morning when he woke up alone, desperately texting his husband in hopes of receiving an answer, only to have TRS agents knock at his door. This time, the familiar prayed the phone would be useful and never to enter that situation again. A shaky breath escaped Umberto's lips as he attempted to avoid tearing up in public.
Still feeling just a bit awkward from the tension between the couple, Alec pondered again whether it was okay for him to still be there, or if he was supposed to disappear into the shadows. It was difficult to say, considering while one of them didn't seem to want him there at all, the other had just deemed him a friend. He liked having friends. Though, it was getting about that time for him to step away and recuperate properly... Rubbing at the back of his neck, Alec looked to Umberto. "Hey, this isn't something for you to be beating yourself over. Nor is it the time, hm? From the sound of it, there's been a lot going on for the both of you. It's obvious that some things would be overlooked."
"While it's unfortunate that in this particular case, something went wrong-- Alls well, ends well, right? Silas is safe. And he got to spend a few hours exploring the city with his mind off of everything. I'd call that a pretty good plus. You should go exploring with him, next time. Help him relearn his way around." He suggested, deciding to give his input whether it was wanted or not.
"--Ah, before I forget." He segued, quickly retrieving a business card from his wallet to hand over to Silas. "My address and number are on there. Feel free to visit, or call when you get a phone, hm?" He suggested, grinning. If the undead did visit or call, then he would know that at least one of the goals had been accomplished. He'd either gotten a phone, or at least somewhat found his way around the city. If both, then all the better.
Silas tightened his grip around Umberto as he hugged him, having the desire to remain by his side always. He gave Alec a friendly smile as he listened to his words. When Alec approached, he reached out to take the card that had been in his hand. "Alright." He answered, looking at it before slipping it into his pocket. "Then you can talk to Umberto again too." He answered, unaware of the feelings his husband felt towards Alec. It had just been a friendly suggestion, he hadn't meant any harm towards it. He would then press his face against Umberto's chest. "Can we go home?" He wasn't tired because he needed sleep, just all that worrying made him feel a great need to return home and snuggle Umberto there. It would give him the chance to give comfort and receive comfort.
There were always fears about the possibility of losing Silas considering he remained the most crucial person in Umberto's life. The familiar proceeded to hold his husband tightly, caring little about the opinions of the other people inside the room. He was attached to Silas, the redhead was his greatest hero, saving him from his deplorable excuse for a father. Unfortunately, it was difficult for Umberto to avoid loathing his recklessness in the situation; he could have prepared for these types of situations to avoid his husband wandering around aimlessly. There was only silence in response to Alec's words, the familiar uncertain of what he could say to condemn himself further for his negligence in the situation. A soft sigh escaped Umberto's lips as he gave his husband a tight squeeze as he finally found calmness transcending over him; Silas was safe.
When the pair exchanged numbers, the familiar merely listened, although, gave a fragile grin when Silas included him by stating Alec could speak with him as well. Afterwards, he felt Silas' face press against his chest as he requested for them to return to home.
"Of course we can," Umberto whispered, rubbing Silas' back. "I will call a taxi."
After the eventful day his husband was given, the familiar presumed the redhead desired to be home quickly, although, Umberto wanted to get everything situated for Silas. Considering he nearly lost his lover in the streets of Lorsette, the blue-haired man knew he needed to accomplish the various tasks Alec recommended; Silas needed to remain safe. The familiar pulled away slightly, maintaining an arm around his husband for comforting purposes while he slowly dialled up the number to get a taxi.
Now that the situation was resolved, Alec grinned freely, keeping a distance once more so that the pang of nausea in his gut could fade. He was going to have to take it easy on his way home-- he had a feeling that it would be a while being he was back up to his full potential after that walk. Again, he assured himself that he just had to get used to being around the Undead. It couldn't have this effect on him, forever. He'd eventually adjust. Right? Yeah, he had to. "Bye bye, then. Have a good one, the both of you." He spoke, his lingering discomfort politely hidden away behind his smile. "It was nice having someone to walk with, today." He added honestly, nodding. With that, he turned to leave. Mainly so that he could collapse in a chair somewhere out of sight. No regrets.
