wren conditioned to fight it, so bring on the riot 'cause we're all invited to the dance. general info
description Surprising, Wren is a fairly tall man arriving at a height of 6ft with a wonderfully slender frame. The lean build he maintains is similar to his appearance he possessed prior to death, abiet flaws across his pale complexion. There is a slight lankiness to his arms, although, they narrowly manage to keep a slim grace to their features. This is a surprising trait considering Wren’s occupation, but nonetheless provides him the peculiar grace of a dancer. He is capable of agile movements, although, his abilities from being a golem compensate for his lack of muscles. There is an elegance to his finders, their slim beauty being another marvel of Wren’s slender body. The nails are long, and constantly groomed and painted to be black; should there be a chip, he would request for it being fixed. Beneath his pale skin are flexible plates of metal that is surprisingly durable. The numerous powerful mechanism beneath his flesh are designed for movement and to maintain the intense strength. There are numerous flaws across Wren’s soft pale flesh. His body is an expanse of scars, each having a stitched appearance and weaving across his skin. They possess a grey colouring, believing to be created from his extensive age and oddly are designed to be unweaved, but only to trained eyes. These are meant to allow Wren repairman to access the mechanisms within to promptly repair them as required; larger feats of maintenance usually require the entire removal of Wren’s fleshy covering. Wren possesses a slender face with sharper features and high cheekbones. His cheeks lead down to a pointed chin. From the lower portion of his left cheek, crossing the bridge of his nose and up towards his right eye is a thick, stitched scar. It disappears into his silvery hair line, but remains a prominent feature across his face. There is a ring of stitched flesh around his neck, acting as a collar to his neck. His hair is extremely long, reaching down to his waist in thick waves of silver hair. Frequently, his hair receives a series of knots and requires constant maintenance. There is a small braid that runs down the front of his hair, oftentimes loose braid since Wren does occasionally play with his hair. His bangs obscure his eyes on most occasions, darkening around them which makes it difficult for people to notice them. Beneath the hair, his eyes are a pleasant bright green that easily captures the attention of others when they get a glimpse. There is usually a cruel grin stretched across his face, occasionally followed by laughter. His ears are pierced in several places, two being placed on the lobe of each ear and one at the top helix. Two black loops are placed on the lobes a majority of the time while a black circle on the helix. Black is a frequent shade when it arrives to Wren’s clothing. He wears a long, black trench coat that covers a majority of his frame. The coat as a tall collar and wide sleeves that he oftentimes hides his hands in. Around his waist is a golden, chain belt with several small charms hanging from it. He wears tall, black boots with thick heels and numerous buckles down the boot. Atop his head is a black top hat with a long piece of fabric falling from the top that reaches just below his shoulders. He wears a black ring on his left pointer finger with a large, emerald stone on it. Resting on his chests are black beaded necklaces that he enjoys. psychological evaluation
Based on initial studies of Wren’s behavior, he is best described as peculiar because of the mental illness from his lively years. From the psychiatric evaluations provided from his years trapped within a mental asylum, Wren is believed to be a schizophrenic psychopath. Unfortunately, these beliefs cannot be confirmed considering his intense fear of hospitals which makes getting him evaluated impossible. He does display several symptoms, such as delusions and hallucinations to which he mentions by name. Randomly, he is prone to laughing fits which causes beliefs that he possesses little sanity to his thought process, however, he truthfully has a different manner of thought process. In reality, Wren is frighteningly smart despite his illness, which leaves the possibility of him being fully aware of his situation. There could be hysterical laughter, but behind those brilliant green eyes is a functioning with his vast intellect. Unfortunately, he remains reckless despite his intellectual brain, supposedly from his intense bloodlust towards others. This does result in a requirement to monitor his maintenance, although, we assist by making certain his protective plating remains strong. Due to the underlying insanity, Wren is rather enigmatic and unpredictable in behavior. He does things randomly, even going lengths to state nonsensical conclusions. This spontaneous behavior has fueled sessions of violence that are naturally worrying; another factor to remain cautious of when associating with Wren. We are cautious about his violent and sadistic attitude, especially considering the manner he “plays” with his victims. Understanding Wren thoroughly can be difficult, especially because he rarely speaks to strangers. Whenever he is unaware of another individual’s identity, he is prone to merely laughing at them. In desperate situations, he will be dishonest to keep the numerous secrets related to his alignment alongside his associates. Furthermore, the aggressiveness Wren displays motivates his violent outbursts alongside his sadistic desires. Notably, he enjoys having control over his victims, deriving enjoyment in his domination. In these situations, he is especially forceful towards others in these situation, refusing their escape until he gleefully ends them. He will take any opportunity to murder his victims without discrimination. When it arrives to other individuals, he is abrasive and unable to sympathize with other people unless they share an extremely deep connection. This ultimately allows for him to execute others with a chilling ease, being careless towards the emotional trauma that those connected to them may go though. Furthermore, his malicious attitude resulted in him feeling the necessity to work towards his goals of murder. He enjoys murdering others, and he prefers accomplishing it in a malicious crimes. Naturally, the apathetic attitude he possesses assists in his lack of feeling towards others. This is another factor to Wren we are attempting to be cautious of by allowing him freedom to kill, although, under the restriction of they cannot be an Assembly; circumstances of betrayal being an entirely different matter. The topic of murder leaves a steely determination in Wren, something that is frightening to witness considering his refusal to give in. He considers killing a necessity of sorts, almost as though it must be accomplished to live. Similar to most things, he does it cheerfully, which brings further concern towards the twisted state of Wren’s mind. On a positive note, Wren in immensely protective to those he shares closer bonds with, even going lengths to take damage on their behalf. However, this takes a considerably tight bond that could take decades to make. Based on analysis, he is especially clingy to the individual who repairs him, deriving joy from his company. While he may be forceful and dominating towards Matt, he solem harms him with the exception of some minor pains from some teasing. He is immensely energetic, this accompanied with his cheerfulness providing a child-like behavior on occasions. This becomes more evident when he is feeling playful, especially when coaxed into a more menial and innocent game. Once again, this is also assisted by his adventurous attitude and curiosity to try new activities; it compels him to learn these things, even if difficult to understand. The courage he possesses gives him the bravery to accomplish this, although, he is admittedly brave to a fault. In some occasions, we believe Wren to be entirely fearless because of his attitude. This hinges entirely on the type of thing opposing him since Wren is completely repulsed by hospital settings and would become more violent if submitted to that setting. Another interesting note is Wren’s attitude towards certain activities that oddly soothes his violent tendencies. Whenever somebody brushes his hair, he calms and starts humming, although, only towards people he trusts. He hates fire with a passion, feeling a great need to extinguish it and becomes grateful towards those who accomplish it on his behalf. Laughter and basic familial or romantic activities results in him relaxing and enjoying the scene with a peculiar enjoyment. It is almost as though he fantasizing over the concept of them occurring. mechanics & functions Enhanced Strength Control Level: Intermediate Strength is one of the physical enhancements that Wren possesses that is rather impressive, allowing for him to overpower others. His strength in an approvement compared to a majority of species. This allows Wren to break through walls, lift heavy equipment or various other feats of immense strength. His punches and slashes are designed to do damage, going lengths to allow him to break bones with frightening ease. Should it be properly landed, a hit from Wren can place somebody into a state of severe injury or possibly death. Physical attacks should be something a fighter is wary of when it arrives to Wren, especially if they are weak against physical strength. While this appears incredibly impressive, it is best to remember that Wren gains this ability from the mechanisms within his body. This means that specific portions that activate his strength can be damaged enough to lower it substantially. It takes plenty of effort to accomplish, but essentially the mechanical sections necessary for enhanced strength could be placed into a state of damage that makes it impossible for Wren to access. Even though Wren has enhanced strength, he can be overpowered because of damaged mechanisms or as a result of somebody possessing a higher tier of strength. This intense strength does allow Wren to suddenly burst forward with his leg, allowing him to hit harder and put the entire power of his body behind a blow. On occasion, this ability can accidentally activate whenever Wren is immensely excited. Enhanced Speed Control Level: Intermediate The state of his golem body also allows Wren to access incredible feats of speeds, even reaching lengths to improve his reaction time. He is able to move at incredible speeds above that of a regular human. This allows him to smoothly weave around blows in short bursts of speed, which makes Wren a difficult target to hit. He is even capable of fixating on a single area of his body to make his faster, allowing him to do numerous fast slashes in a matter of moments. Sometimes, he does use the momentum he gains from accessing this ability to add extra strength to his blows, allowing him to be a formidable opponent. Similarly to his enhanced strength, destroying certain components of his body can weaken or outright eliminate this ability until they are repaired. Although, because of the intense speeds Wren is capable of reaching, this ability can tire him quicker than his various other abilities. When it arrives to his reaction time, those with a similar or higher tier version of the ability are capable of getting around his improved reaction time through quick paced attacks. Occasionally, these moments can result in a stalemate until either party is damaged or runs out of energy. Enhanced Jumping Control Level: Mastered The combination of his speed, strength accompanied by some other mechanism has improved Wren’s jumping capabilities immensely. He is capable of jumping higher than an average human being. This ability combined with his enhanced reaction time do assist him in capabilities of parkour, allowing for jumps to be accomplished with ease or for the completion of impossible jumps. With this ability, he can jump further distances with a graceful ease to the way his body moves. In a way, he is designed for these types of movements, partially for possible escaping purposes in pressuring situations. Unfortunately, his jumping-based mechanisms are more delicate than his various other functions since they balance between speed, strength and some personally designed mechanics. The breaking or damaging of these mechanisms can hinder his jumping capabilities greatly, going lengths to cause movement limitations should the damage be severe. Pain Suppression Control Level: Natural Due to the nature of his design, Wren lacks proper pain nerves which makes it nearly impossible for him to feel pain. He would never receive the complete intensity of the damage he receives, allowing for him to be unrelenting with some pursuits. Damaging hits tend to create very acute pains, merely small sensations created to allow Wren to be aware of when he is being attacked. These pains would never reach an unbearable length for him unless the damage is directly linked to his heartcore, although, this section has intense protection around it and is difficult to find. Enhanced Vision Control Level: Mastered The most delicate technology is captured within Wren’s eyes which are specially designed to allow varying versions of sight. There is zooming technology within them with similar functionality to a camera lense. When zoomed in, up-close objects do become bleary and somewhat distorted. Although, Wren is not limited to zooming in and out like a camera. He can access thermal and night vision when required and is capable of switching between them on a dime. With his thermal vision, Wren is capable of reading temperatures and seeing them in a hue of red to blue. Anything that creates a heat signature can be detected, but unfortunately this ability can be fooled by elements like fire and ice should they be evident in great quantities, ultimately obscuring his vision. Dark locations are nothing to Wren, his night vision thoroughly cutting through the darkness with efficiency. Similarity to regular night vision, it can be defeated by bright lights. Should these lights be strobing, they can easily disorient Wren and daze him until he adjusts. With this ability comes the capability to recognize illusions, even reaching lengths to allow Wren to somewhat discern myth from reality when it comes to his hallucinations. However, the hallucinations can still skew Wren’s definition of reality since they are connected to the mind itself. Electrical based attacks or damages can harm the delicate machine that is Wren’s vision. While he would avoid complete blindness, his zooming, thermal and night vision functions would cease working. Water can result in similar damages should it manage to reach the inner workings of Wren’s electronic eyes. Enhanced Durability Control Level: Natural Beneath Wren’s skin is a series of durable metal plating that protects him from physical damage. Creating a dent in Wren’s shielding is immensely difficult despite the metal’s flexibility. The alloy is lightweight, designed for the purpose of making Wren durable, but still allowing for movement as needed. When the metals were created, they were specially charmed which allows for a balance of flexibility and durability. The assistance of this magic does make it immensely difficult to break through Wren’s metal plating. Furthermore, they are wrapped beneath his skin which makes it impossible for opponents to remove the plating to break through to the more delicate pieces. These metals have a high boiling point, making it difficult to melt Wren should somebody in the position to accomplish that feat. The primary issue with Wren’s plating is its weakness towards magical based attacks. While he is thoroughly protected by physical attacks, magic attacks can still immobilize or damage his body depending on the nature of the attack. Enhanced Dexterity Control Level: Natural Being largely composed of mechanisms, Wren is capable of unlocking enhanced dexterity which provides him with incredible balance. This has furthered his abilities in parkour and general movement since knocking Wren over is immensely difficult. With this, he is capable of fighting at complex angles or even while a floor is shaking. His balancing skills allow him to easily run across thin ropes should he fixate his attention. Moving around complex attacks is aided by this and his enhanced reaction time, allowing Wren to remain a difficult to his target. The enhanced dexterity accompanied with his superior vision gives him excellent marksmanship skills, leaving him with a deadly aim. Unless physically uprooted, it is impossible for Wren to fall and should he be launched through the air, he would land on his feet. Should he be unbalanced, Wren would be capable of regaining his balance quickly. To eliminate this ability, somebody must damage sections of Wren’s body immensely so he is unable to proper land or stand. Being left in an exhausted state can lower the power of this ability. Immortality Control Level: Natural Due to being part machine functioning off the heartcore of a golem, Wren does not age. While his skin suit does occasionally require maintenance and replacing, keeping the same appearance can be done. A majority of the nerves on the other hand receive little to no maintenance unless necessary for Wren’s purpose. The power of the heartcore does appear to assist in maintaining the natural components of Wren’s body, such as the skin. Outlying Problems & Concerns Metal Manipulation/Ferrokinesis: The nature of which Wren was forged has brought forth the immense concern of those capable of manipulating metals. These alloys, while being tough and durable, can be bothered by the capabilities of metal manipulating. Although, there is thankfully some difficulty as a result of Wren’s heartcore which powers the entire skeleton. This has built a resistance based around the Wren’s will. While this makes it incredibly difficult for these manipulators to control separate alloys and/or use Wren similar to a puppet, it remains plausible. Measures to disable Wren during these situations are currently being created to avoid harm. Lightning Rod: As a result of the numerous metals harbored in Wren’s fleshy coat, this has caused him to become a lightning rod. While this fails to destroy the metal components, it can result in momentary issues in Wren’s more technologically based eyes. They will cease functioning after the lightning hits for roughly 3-5 minutes before they restart. Being extensively shocked or electrocuted multiple times could result in function ceasing until repairs of done. Water: Minor issue, mostly related to possible rusting of hinges and metals should the fleshy outer coat gets damages. Charms have been placed to assist in protecting the metals from corrosion or rust, but still requires hefty monitoring. Eyes can face possible damage if sections are broken. Fire: The alloys used in Wren do possess an immensely high melting point, making it incredibly unlikely that he would be burned/melted down remotely. Although, the possibility of these metals becoming weakened from fire is noted. It is noted that this will lower his enhanced strength to merely the peak of humans. Tedious Maintenance: Currently, the balancing of Wren’s physically enhanced skeleton is difficult to maintain at times. Impartially due to the fleshy exterior that the subject still possessing in order to provide a more human-like appearance. While this can be removed, reapplying can be a difficult process since the mechanisms due to require some connection to the exterior. Current method of modifying/maintaining is opening the section that requires attention opposed to the entire skin coat. While this can result in overlooked damages, it allows for Wren to be placed back onto the battlefield faster. Constant monitoring during combat is required to analyze where damages have been taken. Numerous sensors are used in order to monitor where Wren has been hit alongside the forcefulness of the hit. backstory TRIGGER WARNING: Self-harm, mental illness, death, violence, murder, neglect, mental abuse, physical abuse, various dark themes Did you hear the story about the boy from up the hill? He lived in a family of saints, their intentions to the world as pure as light itself. They were a family of 5, with two darling parents, a pair of sweet daughters and the boy himself. Happiness filled their lives and glee was a frequent theme within the household. While their house was small and hardship befell their family on some days, they smiled plenty. Within their town, they were renown and received appraisal from the numerous town folk. They were loved immensely and devotees to the church of Akari, but lacking the spite towards hell. Generally, they were excellent people during those old days back in 1800s who stoically accepted the hardships they received. They had a prestigious sense of innocence and good-will, even being renowned for assisting the homeless alongside travellers who journeyed through the village. Their home was mentioned as a place of lodging, the family rarely accepting payment for the kindness they provided. Only extreme assistance could possibly result in consideration to take the benevolent offers of their visitors. Overall, they were a pleasant family and remained tight-knit throughout the years. They remained planted in their community, enjoying their time spent there in a blissful peace. The father was a religious man, working as a priest within one of Akari’s churches. There was always a benevolent countenance upon his slender face, even during occasions where he participated in regular labours. He remained cleanly, working meticulously at times to create a cherishable scene for those who ventured into the church. Despite their inability to enter, he was hospitable and welcoming to those who hailed Volos. On occasion, his children were welcomed to assist with the various menial chores that pertained mostly to cleaning. He taught them faith and the power of a hard-working attitude during their youthful years. Whenever they proved themselves worthy, he would provide treats despite their low income to please his children. The importance of kindness and polite attitudes was displayed through gentle insistence. Generosity towards others was a frequent lesson for the children and ultimately a positive one. They gave to the unfortunate, already creating a good name within the community itself. The mother was a woman of discipline from her former ties as a TRS ward medic. After she became pregnant and gave birth to the eldest daughter, she changed into becoming a stay at home mother. During moments of desperation, she would assist in the ward or unfortunate families who could not receive medical treatment for various reasons. Within the family, she was a symbol of sympathy who frequently taught her children about understanding others. Her intense compassion and necessity to help allowed her to easily comprehend the plights of others. With her sympathy, however, arrived a firmness in discipline and an understanding that too much freedom could result in bad things happening to her children. She had a fierce protectiveness despite her openness to allow strangers within her home, oftentimes teaching her children skepticism. They were told to lock their doors and leave through the windows to head to the neighbour’s home if they heard anything awry. She taught the children that saving money was important at times, helping them to also enjoy the little things in life. Life passed pleasantly as the village flourished for several years and the individuals, the children happy beneath the care of their parents. There was a perfection to their life that was undeniable, the children easily growing into respected members of the community. The boy followed the lessons his parents taught strictly, which was similar to his parents and siblings. Those days spent within the wonderful splendor of their village was peaceful, even with the existence of Zeredah. While terrors and Assembly soldiers remained constant threats, they endured and fought back, forcing them away. These small problems failed to dent the happiness within the family. As time passed, the two older sisters found lovers and married, leaving the villages to be with their lovers. This caused the family to shrink to the young boy and his wonderful parents who remained tight until the boy became 16. It started with whispers, small illusions in the corner of his eyes and delusional thoughts that were abnormal to his usual behavior. He became different, even going lengths to talk randomly when nobody was within the room. Strange phrases were formed, even names being mentioned that resulted in the parent’s confusion. There were moments where he would twitch, performing random movements without any reasoning behind him. The boy’s thought processing was altered, differing immensely from the taught problem solving methods provided from his parents. The concern elevated when suddenly the boy began informing his parents of a growling beneath his bed, an individual by the name Martin apparently dwelling beneath. When his parents glanced beneath the bed, there was nothing there nor was there growling. Worry touched their eyes when their son insisted he was their, going length to describe Martin in a vivid detail and relay his commands. Martin: A large creature that squats beneath the bed, waiting as its eyes gazed out of the bed. His face is frog-like with a rounded nose and eyes that protruded upwards from the head alongside a sticky tongue. His eyes are dark, also possessing similar traits to a frog. The body is small, claws dragging onto the floor from elongated nails. Amphibian skin covers the large head that emits the growls. Patches of rough skin and ugly, matted brown fur cover the remainder of the body. Oftentimes, Martin growls, only uttering words at his single occasional demand of blood when required. Martin needs blood, loves it, wants it or else he threatens to devour the family; Martin must be pleased. His enemy is the Shadow Man in the corner, the ultimate guard who watched over the realm; Wren’s room. He scares the Shadow Man away, creating a requirement to please the blood-thirsty frog hybrid. The parents were flabbergasted by the words their son stated, his vivid description of the monster frightening them, especially since the boy never made such complaints until recently. They informed their son that Martin was not beneath the bed, that he was safe to sleep within the comfort of his bed. That evening, the young teen was left within his room to slumber through the evening, unfortunately, sleep was disturbed. The whispers… they arrived in an intense volume, stating abhorrent concepts, but hypnotizing the boy while he laid, staring at the ceiling. Martin called, he desired blood, the usual threat leaving his ugly mouth while he licked his large lips in anticipation. The bed was abandoned, the boy travelling to the kitchen where he opened one of the drawers, fetching a knife with a sharp blade. He returned to the bed, lifting the blankets and sheets and quietly squating in front of it. While he remained in the position, his green eyes stared at the creature, his hand extending. Slowly, the silver blade of the knife was brought closer to his palm with a shaky grip. The demands continued, whispers insisting, Martin threatening to harm his family. Firmness was given to the handle, the boy’s hand lifting before slashing down. The knife ripped into his flesh, creaturing a slit in the boy’s palm. Blood pebbled, turning red as it slowly dribbled down his hand and onto the floor. A small puddle formed, the young teen seeing a greedy monster consume the red liquid while reality displayed a patch of blood on the floor. There was a moment where he stared at the knife, the blade freshly coated with blood; his blood. He backed against the wall, voices still whispering those abhorrent intentions. They told him to continue, more cuts for them to feast upon. The boy sat against the wall, pulling up his sleeve and staring down at his flawless arm. Small larvae were gathering at his feet, the voices coming from their mouth as they insisted that Martin would not share, that they needed substance of their own. Blood, the precious red liquid of life, they required some for their satisfaction. The boy stared, his eyes flitting towards the blade that gleamed in the moonlight before returning to his pale arm. Once again, the knife the lifted, the blade instead drawn across his arm, creating several vertical cuts. Blood surged forth, dribbling onto the floor where the larvae feasted, gleefully consuming the red liquid. Several long, thin cuts were created across the boy’s arm, his mind entranced by the pain, by the knife cutting into his arm. There was a shrill scream from the bedroom’s threshold, the boy ignoring it to continue cutting into his bleeding arm. His mother ran towards him, snatching the knife from his hands and gazing on the damage the boy did to his arm. She yelled at him, her concerns elevating the instant she witnessed the ugly display. He was immediately hauled to the washroom, the mother using her medical expertise to tend to his self-inflicted injuries. Inquiries were made, the mother ending with the simple question of why the boy was hurting himself. The answer was erriee, the mother’s eyes staring in horror at what her son had to say. Martin needed blood… more of them wanted blood… the voices… the larvae… they needed blood. Worry increased after the first incident, the mother fretting over her son while the father was lost in words. Eventually, the boy was required to remain inside, his mother teaching him herself out of fear he would meet a similar fate to her brother. Before their son was born, the boy’s uncle was hauled to a mental asylum for similar traits and later died within the walls. There was no possibility that she would warrant the horrible fate to her precious son, thus she remained close. Unfortunately, she learned the difficulties of caring for her mentally ill son as her fears began sparking towards him being taken away alongside the effects of his hallucinations. Whenever he would imagine something, she would become irritated, yelling at him that they did not exist. Occasionally, it reached lengths of the woman insisting that her son needed to stop playing this game and cease imagining these horrible creatures, however, it never occurred. The boy’s brain was lost within a realm of delusions, as he lacked treatment. Changing was beyond him, his reality being forged from these illusions his head created. The sudden change of being locked within the house resulted in a hesitance to speak, a shyness sparking. Even when travellers arrived, the boy would be placed within his room to avoid somebody possibly discovering the mental illness that held his life firmly. The father reacted entirely different after discovering the possibility of his son being mentally ill. While the man was benevolent in numerous ways, he was superstitious from years of reading religion-based books. Whenever he glanced towards his son, he became concerned, wondering if perhaps the boy was possessed by a demon. There was no other explanation for the radical changes the young teen underwent a few months after his 16th birthday. One of the days, his father returned home with a golden grail clenched with his hands. Without hesitation, he splashed his son with holy water while demanding the demon to leave him. The boy was startled, falling onto the floor in fear of his father’s sudden actions. As his father shouted words, the boy began crying, frightened by the man who was supposed to care about him. During the attempt to ‘banish the demon’ from his son, the boy’s mother returned and shouted at the father for his absurd actions. The boy was told to go to his room, to which he hastily obeyed to avoid his father. While he sat in his room, he listened to the horrible noises of his parents screaming at one another. Afterwards, his father became a man devoted to silence, refusing to interact with his son. The world became a different as the boy lost interactions with his precious father denying him attention. Ultimately, the boy began depending on solely his mother to provide for him which brought numerous stresses onto the woman. His mother’s frustration distanced them as she attempted to get her son to cease his strange behavior. The distance resulted in the boy being consumed further by the delusions that clouded his mind, to points where he would converse with other creatures. From flying cats to rainbow coloured worms, everything was something the boy would interact with. Oftentimes, his mother witnessed him staring in the corner, seemingly speaking with himself. The mother was always confused by the action, occasionally questioning him. She shortly discovered it was his main friend, Shadow Man, which once again frightened her. Shadow Man: A tall creature composed of shadows with lanky arms and long fingers that reach towards the ground. He hunches over, his incredible height making it impossible to reach his full posture. While he walks, his thin nails dragging onto the floor. The floor receives scratches, as screeches enter the air from the floor being ruined by the the claws. His eyes are like large, white scribbles against his black body. They remain the only feature of his face while the rest is merely a canvas of black. He is the protector of Wren’s room, but he is fearful of Martin who makes him leave; thus why Martin must be satisfied. During a majority of the days, he will speak with Shadow Man and gleefully play hide and seek. Life became this progression of limited interaction between himself and the rest of the world. His mother’s frustration resulted in moments of being locked inside his room. At times, her frustration would reach lengths where she would slap him, screaming to cease the insanity that plagued him. The outside world was unreachable, his mother never allowing her child to leave the house nor could he interact with the travelers. He would receive food while within his room whenever there were visitors. Whenever the washroom was required, his mother would escort him and insist that he remain entirely silent to avoid suspicion. The sudden avoidance of social interaction resulted in the boy becoming immensely shy and hiding from everybody who could speak with him. He began believing there was something wrong with him considering the peculiar interaction, his parents going lengths to tell his sisters he was sick whenever they arrived to visit. Everything appeared horrible, the young boy trapped in this misery for an extensive amount of time. Then there was the mysterious man that captured his attention entirely. During an evening, the boy was awake, his eyes searching his room. A pretty, glittering butterfly flew through his room, smacking into the door. The teen left, moving towards the door as he opened it, the butterfly going through the threshold. The mentally ill individual followed the butterfly, the creature leading him towards the room where the visitors slept. It landed on the man’s door, demanding for the boy to open it. Slowly, he grabbed the handle and quietly opened the next door, his eyes finally witnessing him. For a moment, the boy stared, venturing deeper into the room as the butterfly demanded. The beautiful blue hair accompanied by the muscular features earned the boy’s attention, the warrior’s appearance bringing an odd feeling to his heart. Hastily, he jumped onto the bed, his eyes fixated on the peculiar individual who he felt an immediate connection to. Suddenly, the man awoke, startling the boy who hastily left, falling onto the hard wooden floor, retreating to the threshold despite the man’s insistence to stay. For a few moments they interacted, the boy learning that this mysterious man’s name was Matt. Gradually, they became close as the evening progress, even venturing on a pleasant, nightly walk. The pair spoke, the young boy feeling accepted by this stranger, his words comforting to the mentally ill teen. Despite barely knowing Matt, the boy slept beside him after suddenly having a nightmare, finding comfort in his presence. The following morning was met with his mother’s shouting, the boy waking from his pleasant slumber to the angry face of his mother. There were her horns, the teen’s illusion whenever his mother became infuriated by his behavior. Slowly, the wonderful embrace was abandoned, his mother promptly forcing Matt to leave before locking the teen into his room. Afterwards, the young boy began knocking on the door, pleading for release to seek out Matt. Losing this important individual who made him feel alive could not occur. Shortly, he turned towards the window preparing to open and escape, but then there were those growls. Martin desired his prize, the boy returning to his bed and grabbing the knife he hid from his mother; several cutting attempts made her wary. It began with the usually slicing of his palm, dripping the red liquid onto the wooden floor. The familiar small puddle was created, the boy instead witnessing Martin lap up the blood. There was a similar pattern as the voices arrived, the teen approaching the wall and leaning against it. The tradition continued, the maggots and larvae desiring their share of the precious liquid that flowed through his veins. Several cuts were made until the knife was yanked away from his hands by somebody. When his gaze trailed towards the person in question, he discovered Matt standing with the knife. They exchanged words, the boy willingly explaining the situation to the person who accepted him wholeheartedly despite his mental condition. An agreement was hesitantly made as the man offered his blood as a replacement for his in a desperate desire to avoid the boy’s injury. After their pact of sorts, they managed to convince the teen’s mother to allow Matt to remain with them, to which she begrudgingly agreed. Their relationship blossomed afterwards, the boy getting closer to the mysterious blacksmith who managed to capture his heart. Embraces, words and kisses were exchanged, the pair displaying their deep-rooted affection. The mother was affected by their tight bond, finding herself able to accept Matt into their family, even going lengths to comprehend her son’s mental illness better. The boy’s condition remained a secret despite Matt taking him outside, their caution assisting in keeping the teen safe from harm. They slept in the same room during those days, Matt using the guise of requiring to keep an eye on the teen to avoid anymore incidents. The cutting, however, remained their secret. Whenever Martin called for blood, the knife would be procured, carefully slicing into Matt’s skin. The man’s healing abilities proved useful, allowing for the teen to comfortably cut into the man’s flesh with minimal worry for the repercussions. Although, it fed the more sinister intentions captured within the teen’s mind as he fancied himself with darker thoughts. The concept of restraining his lover would always arrive to his mind, watching him squirm against it. There was something oddly attractive about it that the teen could never explain. As time progressed, the date arrived when Matt asked the teen to marry him to which he immediately agreed. Unfortunately, the teen’s fiance was forced to leave on a trip, resulting in him being left in the care of his mother. During Matt’s absence, the teen was forced to use his blood to feed Martin and the larvae. Excitement remained in the air despite the occurrence of his self-harm, until the day arrived that the alarm rang. There were screams everywhere, the teen being within his room when it began. Fire, blood, the mutilation of the helpless civilians, he witnessed it entirely. The fire licked towards the skies above, the smoke bothering the teens eyes as his mother attempted to keep him safe. When the enemy came inside, his mother shoved him into the closet and begged him to stay still. There were screams, the teen narrowly managing to keep quiet while hell was unleashed on the outside world. Everything went quiet, the sounds of fire only remaining when he opened the closet and hastily left his childhood home. Tears trailed down his face when his green eyes witnessed the aftermath of the destruction. The houses were crumbling, submitting to the fire. Bodies adorned the ground, blood spilling from gaping wounds and some even left in questionable positions. Everything he knew was gone… Something broke inside the teen, his face cracking into a smile as the sheer force of debilitating realization hit him. He collapsed to his knees, laughing hysterically at the misfortune the gods handed him. Certainly this was not reality… merely a nightmare fabricated by the insanity was plagued him daily. As time progressed, the boy spiraled deeper into the ugly pits of madness, the following morning being discovered by guards from the city who went to investigate. They approached with caution until believing the young man was safe, but their suspicions were incorrect. The young man was violent and hysterical, the guards being required to use force to restrain him. They listened to the boy’s delusions, immediately realizing that he was not mentally fit remotely. Immediately, the young man was hauled away and thrown in a mental asylum because of the mental illness that plagued him. There was solitude within the walls, everyone fearing the boy’s violent outbursts. No attempts were made to track down family under the claim of them both being deceased and the boy’s mental condition being too dangerous. Thus, when Matt discovered he was in the asylum, they turned him away at the door. The man’s condition plummeted quickly because of violent attitude and peculiar behavior. The workers of the asylum were terrified of him, oftentimes avoiding him and hastily setting meals into his room. He frightened them, resulting in there no longer being any social interaction for the unfortunate mentally ill man. Gradually, the young man became thinner from the mistreatment, even receiving negative medical care. Staff would scream in fright from the words he would say, leaving instead of attempting to understand. Privileges were lost, the young man being permanently confined to his room. Although, there was a peculiar thing that the boy would do randomly. Whenever Matt received injures attempting to enter, the young man would begin repeating his name endlessly while sitting in his filthy conditions. Despite his mental condition, he still remembered his soulmate, desiring to return to his comfortable embrace. The man truly cared about him, embracing the insanity that unfortunately haunted him with an unexpected kindness. Acceptance was what the man craved, his desires to be captured within the arms of his lover increasing daily. Unfortunately, he continued withering away from the horrible conditions of the mental asylum. His body became thinner, the young man growing immensely weak and medicine was rarely received. The squalid conditions resulted in him getting sick, being fortunate if he recovered from whatever illness plagued him. Social contact was minimal, the young man gaining a lonesome feeling from being confined. The mental asylum was the definition of hell to the young man who shortly began curling up in the corner. Whenever somebody entered his cell, he would lash out violently, desiring to avoid being attacked by them. Everybody became a threat, the boy falling into his madness. Where was his Matt? That was the individual he desired, the person he wanted to run away with. The freedom was craved, but only if his fiance would be around with him. Their soulmate connection allowed for the boy to remember, making Matt a thorough memory for him. When the door opened with a loud squeal was a surprise for the boy, his eyes flitting towards the threshold with lust for freedom. The individual who entered was vaguely familiar, the young man lowering his guard. The person ventured closer as the patient stared, cocking his head in curiosity. A question left his lips, the man appearing to some sanity in the moment from the odd familiarity. There was a silvery gleam, the young man eyes widening in pure shock as he attempted to retreat. The wall was against his back, the sharp blade of the knife being welded in front as his assailant wildly swung. The young man screamed at the deep slashes being created in his blood, the iron stench of blood enveloping the room. There was an intense pain, each wound excruciating, different from the self-inflicted cuts he would create when Martin required feeding. After the crime was done, the mysterious individual retreated with the knife, leaving the patient bleeding on the floor in his horrendous condition. There would be no recovery from the severe wounds the young man received, it became obvious when people laid their eyes on him. Nobody could do anything to save the man, nor did they desire to on account of his strange and violent behavior; all except one. One individual approached him, the man recognizing him immediately, reaching towards him as he feebly called out “Matt…” as arms wrapped around him. The mentally ill male clung to his fiance, hands refusing to release the person he cared about most. As the blood continued to seep out, he whispered about how he hated the world, informing his lover of the horrible occurrences while he was trapped within the asylum world. He told him about how he desired freedom, how his wish was to run away with his fiance and never be trapped within this hell again. After a while, the young man passed away while held within the arms of his lover. The lover picked him up, carrying him out of the asylum and disappearing into the surrounding wilderness. ------------ Wren was a creation designed for greatness, the sheer make expected to make him a powerhouse among men. The creator who worked effortlessly on a living weapon was impressed by his work, even going lengths to hire a personal repairman who went by the name Matthew Delacroix. Systems were required to be operational, the golem expecting to be a sensation among the masses. He was expected to accumulate his creator fame and glory with his success in combat. Originally, he was designed to be a terror destroying machine for the TRS, thus he was taught. Expectations were high, his creator working endless to make certain that Wren understood perfection and knew the required actions to be taken. The golem was designed with several enhancements, most notably being his speed, strength and jumping capabilities that were impressive. He was created with thoughts of movement and given a strength that would harm any unfortunate individual forced to endure it. The training was intense, the golem occasionally risking injury while he worked towards the preparations to make himself a TRS hunter; the ultimate hunter! There was a singular option, success considering his creator could not accept the harshness that arrived with failure. Hidden beneath their strong “bond” was an abusive relationship that transpired despite Wren’s domineering personality. The creator’s violent outbursts towards him were frightening, placing him into an intensely submissive position when around the man. Despite the abuse, Wren remained loyal under the belief that the man created him; he was the creation, bound to the person who forged his body and brought life back into it. Their relationship was strained, neither being capable of being positive without Wren’s success, which pressured the golem. Displeasing his master meant another evening facing belts, electro shocks and occasionally burning all provided under the guise of injuries received in practice combat; mere accidents of recklessness. The repairman was left entirely in the dark about their relationship, his creator firmly stating that Matt could not be informed about the abuse or more sinister things would follow. There was an agreement, hesitant considering there was something peculiar about Matt. The repairman was always mysterious to Wren, possessing even an edge of nostalgia whenever the golem gained a glimpse. A familiarity, but yet, the man felt completely unknown to the golem. Who was he? Why did he appear to familiar? Naturally, Wren found himself drawn towards Matt, almost as though an invisible rope held them together. The genuine care he received from the repairman was pleasant. It ranged from general mechanism fixes down to menial tasks like brushing his extensively long hair. The menial tasks were always favoured by Wren as they possessed another level of nostalgia that thoroughly soothed his madness ridden brain. The repairman became a representation of calmness for the golem, despite their playful cat and mouse sessions that Wren enjoyed. Happiness and smiles were frequent around the blue-haired beauty, although, the golem could not necessarily define his feelings. Comprehending them were beyond the golem, and fixating on attempting to was impossible given the rapidly approaching examination of Wren’s combat capabilities. The date arrived on a pleasant summer day on an empty street as TRS higher ups watched in curiosity at the creation. They were interested witnessing the spectacled worked up by the creator who was determined to display his amazing invention. Initial, everything appeared to be moving along smoothly with beliefs that people would. It began with Wren proving to be an incredible fighter, the judges amazed by his fluid movements to defeat the terrors. Then when they believed the finishing blow would be struck, Wren began playing with his food. He tortured his enemy, in horrible ways that made the judges eyes widen, disgust accumulating as Wren began obliterating the opponent. After their death, he continued his assault despite it no longer being necessary. There was screaming, citizens and judges horrified by the golem’s brutal and sadistic attitude. They grew sick from the sighting, some even required therapy from witnessing the events. Afterwards, Wren was expelled from the TRS and expected to be taken to a hospital to assist with his mental issues. Naturally, this did not occur since his creator whisked Wren away before he could receive the repercussions of his deliberate actions. There was anger in the creator eyes, his hopes being demolished single-handedly by Wren’s extreme violence. That evening, he abused his creation thoroughly for the mistake while keeping him hidden away. People arrived at their doorstep, inquiring about the golem who needed medical treatment. The concepts of medicine and hospitals generated a strange sensation of fear within Wren, the golem promptly hiding himself while his creator dealt with the issue. The people were refused at the door, and when they attempted to force themselves in, Wren was called. The golem answered, frightened that his creator was going to send him away, although, there was a surprise. The command that left his lips caused a twisted smile to touch the white-haired man’s lips. Was it bad he enjoyed tormenting others? Or that murder made him immensely happy? Without hesitation, Wren had burst forward with his superior speed and worked towards annihilating the people. The creator was his onlooker, impressed with the golem’s actions and praising him afterwards. They shortly hid themselves away to avoid the police, his creator doing some research while Wren entertained himself. He became a serial killer, gleefully murdering those inferior to his incredible body with a sickening ease. Challenges were enjoyed, the twisted golem becoming thrilled when his next victim decided to run away. It made the game exciting and added some necessary spice. Eventually, his creator arrived with news of their plans and Wren fancied the concept extremely. They would join the Assembly of Phantoms, Wren’s brutality likely to be appreciated among their ranks rather than the TRS. They decided that since the regular society could not view Wren’s useful, then they would place him elsewhere. The concept made sense to Wren who gleefully joined once his creator got the connection to the Assembly. They were hastily accepted in, the Assembly easily appreciating Wren’s sadistic attitude and brutality towards others. Being apart of the Assembly brought the golem great joy as it influenced his enjoyment of killing. Due to the madness the plagued him, Wren earned the alias Mad Hatter and displayed it with a concerning pride that frightened others. As time progressed, Wren found himself more infatuated with the repairman, and he remained one of the few that he would tease, but never kill. Their connection appeared to have been forged from the beginning, yet, only existed since the golem’s creation.
