Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Mother insisted that Abel of his death was merely an accident, and she was an excellent woman who informed him about how she gleefully raised him for years. Obviously, she had to be truthful with her statements being the marvellous woman who gave birth to him and tenderly cared for him when he was recovering from his return. The verdict was simple, mother had no reason to provide him with a weaved web of lies, although, the golem remained unaware of the truth. Yet, something inside insisted this stranger he met today instead of the woman who raised him. A glare settled on Abel's brows as he continued to stare down at the man yelling at him, stating he was a murder victim. The increased struggling only resulted in the tightening of the blond's arms around the man as he continued staring at him. There was a vague implication of phantom pain, the notion caused concern to breach the golem's face. This attractive man deserved better than a monster who hunted for greedy intentions. Oddly, Abel found himself believing Ben deserved a kind and sweet man who would adorn him with affection, but where did those beliefs arise from?
[break][break]
Why did he continue to insist that his target deserved a better romantic interest or deserved one at all?! The bounty hunter would arrest this criminal, bring him to the Hallow Order, claim his prize and officially be completed another mission, but instead, he remained stationed atop him, inquiring him. There was a fluttering to his heart, providing positive reinforcement towards their close proximity, but would "skip beats" whenever he considered turning Benjamin in or denying his words.
[break][break]
"WHY SHOULDN'T I BELIEVE THE WOMAN WHO RAISED ME?!" Abel shouted in retaliation. "SHE PUT ME BACK TOGETHER AFTER I DIED! SHE TOLD ME ABOUT THE BULLIES, SHE TOLD ME HOW THEY USED THAT NAME AND TEASED ME WITH IT! SHE TOLD ME ABOUT THE ACCIDENT, AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BELIEVE OTHERWISE JUST BECAUSE YOU FELT SOMETHING!"
[break][break]
Anger flowed through Abel's circuits, his peculiar eyes narrowing at the man who insisted to be his husband. While his heart was inclined to believe his words, his brain stated otherwise, playing on the possibility of a liar. Inside of the golem became a brawl as each side attempted to state each individual as true, his heart rooting for this stranger while his brain insisted his mother to be truthful. The conflicting opinions frustrated him, increasing the anger within as he attempted to sort through the different statements. When Ben made his bias statement, the golem glared towards him, sitting up, his fist shortly slamming into the ground beside in a desperate attempt to relieve frustration; it was painless to the cyborg anyways. There was a moment of silence as he listened to the lich continue.
[break][break]
"HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW WHO TO BELIEVE?!" He yelled, the frustration evident in his voice. "WHAT YOU SAY CONTRADICTS EVERYTHING I HAVE BEEN TOLD, SO WHY THE HELL SHOULD I BELIEVE YOU?!"
[break][break]
Believing a random stranger he met during the early hours was refused, his heart aching in response to the decision as his stubborn mind conquered. There was no substantial evidence, his lack of memory resulting in a weakness that Abel despised. The golden ring captured his attention shortly, Abel wrestling it from Ben's hand. The golem's eyes gazed over the piece of jewellery, his mechanical body never finding a use for these flashy pieces. Slowly, the ring was moved in his fingers while he listened to Ben speak, Abel adjusting the angle to catch a glimpse at the names in it. There was a pause as the blond stared at the inscribed names, noticing the similar etchings of his own, but ultimately denying it despite the insistence of his heart; it had to be another Abel McCroft. Considering the contradictory statements this complete stranger create in contrast to his mother's, he had to be mistaking him.
[break][break]
"How ridiculous. Rings like this only have monetary value, although, this inscription only lowers the value," he mumbled heartlessly.
[break][break]
Never discovering the soft touch of love after his return resulted in a bitter coldness towards trivial things such as wedding rings, the golem unable to realize the emotional value it held to a person. Whenever he glanced at these pieces of jewellery, he merely saw a thin band of metal that occasionally housed a jewel. Promptly, his eyes returned to Ben, shortly widening in surprise to the welling tears in the lich's eyes; why was he so attached to this ring?
Benjamin could see that he was wasting his breath answering Abel's questions, he wasn't going to believe a stranger that had a bounty on his head. He'd show him exactly who he was, the good and the bad. When Abel had fallen off the grid, he had died, when he felt the phantom pain encouraging his husband was gone, he had died, when he had been kidnapped and brutally murdered, it had been the final straw of his death. Now, he had been living as an empty shell, believing that he could live again as soon as he saw his husband alive and possibly well. This woman, I don't remember his father mentioning her very often if at all. No... I must do research on her and find out more information. According to Abel, she said he had been in an accident when I know he had been murdered. Is it possible? No, I can't think like that, I must meet her and find out for myself, surely she is mistaken on Abel's death because I know what I felt hadn't been the cause of an accident. Until I meet her and know for sure, it is possible she is the reason behind Abel's untimingly death.
He had gone silent, allowing Abel to yell into his ear. Choosing the silent treatment instead of speaking to his husband. No, he had only come after him for the damn bounty, there wasn't any other reason. What they had was lost, for now and ever. His Abel wouldn't be coming back to him and yet, he wished it wasn't so. Abel had asked him why he should believe him, he chose to be silent instead of answering his question. This argument was pointless, the only way to show Abel his love now was to kill his murderer and disappear forever. Holding his ring had given him comfort, helping him feel slightly better. Reminding him of the good old times that he had with his husband. Hearing Abel's words, he felt like his heart had broken into two. He is gone.... my husband is gone forever.... I have to keep my promise now... he had left me on purpose. I'll show him. I'll show him what I'm made for. He had begged for his ring back, tears streaming from his eyes. However within a few minutes of Abel holding his ring hostage, he struggled to free himself from Abel's grip before shoving him off.
"If that is how you really feel Abel...." His words were low, Abel wasn't going to get a second chance from him. He created darkness and swirled it around in circles, having only moments prior been tempted to try and possess Abel. Once the darkness had been formed, "Consider your ring back the form of payment you lost for not capturing me." He kept the darkness coming, wanting to encircle Abel in it before turning on his heels, running away from him. I haven't been in that house for years, but I need to get something from there before I fall off the grid. He thought to himself, heading in that direction. Within a few minutes he went onto the porch, finding the key under the floor mat he unlocked the door before slipping the key into his pant pocket before closing the door behind him. He took in a breath, slowly walking along the hallway as he made his way into his bedroom. I can't stay here.... I doubt it will take him long to find this place and when he does, he'll still have questions. He went into their bedroom, looking at the picture he stared at him, finding the tears running down his cheeks.
Right.... I had a purpose in coming here.... He went into the closet to search for his safe, unlocking it he withdrew his gun. It was already loaded, not having extra bullets because he honestly expected it to be enough to get the job done. I need to figure out where that damn woman is hiding.... which means, stalking Abel to figure out his schedule.

These were always the moments where Abel wished he could act more human and understand the emotions of other individuals. The unpleasant silent treatment only increased his anger, the golem glaring down angrily at his target. Admittedly, Abel could not comprehend why Benjamin would refuse to answer their onslaught of inquiries, the bounty hunter being unaware how his words managed to hurt his feelings. The lack of memory accompanied by his unfamiliarity with other people made an excellent combination to decimate the loving feelings that his forgotten husband still harboured for him. The golem rolled his eyes at Benjamin, finding the lack of response annoying; answering his questions could result in his memories returning. There was a tight grip on the wedding band, holding it delicately between his mechanical fingers, eyes analyzing it for a few moments. Despite his greediness, Abel found himself incapable of understanding the importance of some material objects; why not use the money on more important things?!
[break][break]
Personally, the golem would have used the funds for repairs considering the expensive nature of them, although, such thoughts were interrupted when his yellow eyes drifted towards Benjamin. There was a pause as Abel's eyes widened towards the tear-filled eyes of the stranger who claimed to be his husband; was he truthfully hurting him that much? Witnessing the tears roll down the man's cheeks was heartbreaking, the bounty hunter only capable of staring until Benjamin shoved him off, the fragile chain breaking as his husband got released. The blond's grip tightened on the ring, desiring to hold it close instead of pawn it at a shop to earn a few bucks. He toppled onto the ground after being shoved off, eyes staring at his hand that clutched the wedding band; what had he done? It was obvious his abrasive demeanour resulted in him bringing harm to Benjamin's feelings and this man claimed to only desire love and affection, both things Abel felt incapable of providing. Darkness surrounded him, Abel's sight shifting to night vision as he listened to the deep voice of Benjamin.
[break][break]
"Ben?! BEN?! WAIT! I AM SORRY!" He exclaimed desperately.
[break][break]
The golem rushed towards the shadow barrier, pounding his fist against it, attempting to break through. There was a prayer sent, Abel activating his enhanced strength to finally smash through the wall of darkness. Once the hole was created, the bounty hunter flinched from the sudden detriment to his night vision and promptly switched to his regular type. Afterwards, he sprinted through the hole, activating his enhanced speed as he desperately searched for Benjamin with the ring still held tightly. The voice was panicking, insisting that Abel made a huge mistake in callously stating those words about the green-haired man's ring. The situation had been sensitive, and instead of feeling grateful for possibly having somebody who would love him despite the changes he underwent, Abel pushed them away. There was something similar to instinct leading the golem down the network of sidewalks, the blond managing to arrive at a house. Slowly, his eyes drifted towards the home the mysterious strings led him too, the bounty hunter staring.
[break][break]
There was something familiar about this place, although, Abel never remembered being taken here. The fractured memory of the golem flitted across the exterior, vague fragments of memory coming to find, however, not articulating a true memory. Gradually, his hand touched the side of his head as his eyes retreated to the sidewalk; how he wished he could just remember... There was a pause of contemplation on his to enter the home, but they were interrupted by a pain that pulsated through Abel's body as his circuits spat sparks in a complaint to the electricity that abruptly entered the bounty hunter's body. A hand grabbed him, momentarily pulling him close to steal the power after creating the necessary damage to stun her opponent; shortly releasing him. Instantly, the blond found himself falling towards the sidewalk, landing on his stomach while smoke spiralled up from his back.
[break][break]
"Tsk, tsk, Abel, sooooo sloooow," a feminine voice taunted.
[break][break]
There was a flinch as Abel found himself trapped on the ground, the drain resulting in his body relying solely on the heart core within to power itself. With a limited amount of energy, Abel would be fortunate to lift himself off the ground; the damage was of little worry to him.
[break][break]
"Shut... up," he mumbled feebly.
[break][break]
A tight grip was maintained on Benjamin's wedding band, Abel slowly moving his hand closer to his fellow bounty hunter would be unable to notice his closed fist. These were one of those moments he hated the other members of the Hallow Order; anybody would gleefully fight you for a bounty, it was simply the way things were.
Benjamin felt a the shocking phantom pain hit his body, forcing him to fall to the ground. What is Abel doing out there? He thought to himself, slowly starting to regret his decision in leaving Abel behind. He pressed the palm of his hands against the carpet, pushing against it until he was on his knees before forcing himself to stand up. I better go find him. He thought to himself, feeling frustrated at how things had finished between them. He looked at the pictures standing on top of his nightstand, tears started to fall down his face. I'll be back soon. I need to find my husband and bring him home, or drag him home, which ever comes first. He thought to himself, exiting the bedroom as he strolled down the hallway before preparing to open the front door. There were voices coming from outside and he hesitated, moving towards the window to peek outside to see Abel was on the ground and there was a female hovering over him. Oh shit..... He thought to himself, rushing down the hall he went into his bedroom to withdraw a pocket knife from the nightstand. He would then rush down the hall before reaching out once more to open the door without hesitation.
I didn't know that he had followed me here, but besides that, I must save him from that woman. He thought to himself just as Abel told the lady to shut up. "Hey!" He would call over to get the lady's attention. "Get the hell away from him." It hadn't been a request, it had been a demand. He would slice his hand open, forcing blood to come out before forcing it in front of Abel to protect him from oncoming attacks. I guess with his job, he runs the risk of getting enemies.... He thought to himself, slowly moving forward. I don't know what she wants, but she isn't about to take my husband from me. I won't lose him a second time. He thought to himself, attempting to possess the woman, once inside he would encourage her to walk away from Abel before walking closer to stand beside his husband. After giving them enough distance, he would stop possessing the woman, reaching out he would hold his hand out to try and help Abel to his feet. "Is it common for you to get yourself into trouble?" He asked, whispering so that the woman wouldn't hear him. Despite looking at Abel, he was listening for any possible sign of the woman possibly attempting to attack them, fully aware that they weren't likely off the hook just yet.

There was pain pulsating through Abel's body, the golem only capable of subtly moving his body on account of the sudden damages. Guilt continued to ravage the male bounty hunter as he wished he had never said all those horrible things to Benjamin; that beautiful man did not deserve to hear such blasphemy. Unfortunately, Abel feared he could never become the man his presumed husband deserved; the man he felt immense affection for. The blond listened to the footsteps of the female bounty hunter circling, glaring up towards her as she smirked arrogantly. Admittedly, the golem desired to punch that cocky smile right off of her face. The mocking tones the woman used when referring to him only increased Abel's anger, the short-tempered blond even attempting to rise from the concrete, although, to no avail. The mechanical merely shook, the sudden overload of electricity abruptly followed by the draining leaving him in a weakened state and at the mercy of this woman. There was no possibility of Abel managing to get to his feet alone, especially since the electric overload managed to knock a few stray sparks onto his pain sensitive heart core.
[break][break]
"Awwww, Abel wants up? How cute," she mocked further. A sigh left her mouth as she glanced around. "You haven't even caught the target yet! How slow can you be?"
[break][break]
The golem glared up towards his assailant who merely maintained a smirk as she gazed back. There was a prayer that Benjamin had left the area while this bounty hunter remained distracted; Abel wanted the green-haired beauty to remain safely out of the clutches of this particularly cruel huntress. While he remained on the hard concrete, the blond's teeth clenched as he continued glaring, his hand still tightly holding the precious wedding band.
[break][break]
"At least I'm not a complete asshole," he mumbled in response. "Remind me to punch that stupid smirk off your face when I get charged again."
[break][break]
A cackling laugh echoed out of the woman's mouth, but before she could respond, somebody exited the house. Anger transitioned to horror as Abel noticed Benjamin leave the sanction of the house. The golem struggled further from the ground, attempting to recover from the immense damage of earlier, but to no avail. There was a satisfied smile stretching across the woman's face as she began to focus on her new target, Benjamin McCroft. Phantom pain faintly sparked into Abel's hand as he watched the green-haired man force blood out of the wound, creating a shield to protect him... After all those horrible words that Abel stated, this lich still possessed the desire to protect him... Before she could utter a mocking comment towards Benjamin, she was possessed and forced to retreat a few steps away from the Abel. When his former target walked closer, the blond flinched while he looked towards him before he guiltily retreated his eyes. The outstretched hand remained untaken as Abel's gaze slowly returned to Benjamin.
[break][break]
"Don't worry about me, she is after you," he whispered. "She's a bounty hunter, escape now so she doesn't hurt you."
[break][break]
There was a pleading tone to the blond's lips while he continued to stare at Benjamin, praying that this beautiful man would heed his words and flee instead of remaining beside him. Promptly, the female bounty hunter recovered from the possession, her eyes narrowing as she lifted her hand. Suddenly, bolts of electricity were produced from her hand, her target being the Benjamin and Abel.
Benjamin listened to Abel's words, staring at the woman he wasn't amused. "I'm not going anywhere Abel." He countered, watching as the woman lifted her hand. "Before you attack me, I have one thing to say..... check the app again. If you didn't notice, I'm not worth anything...." Thankfully he hadn't updated the price back, so it currently said the bounty to be zero. "Though if you're still determined to have me as your target, I won't go easy on you." He forced the blood to move in front of them so that any oncoming attacks would be blocked. "Abel, I'm not leaving you. I finally found you and for me to leave you when your down on the ground would simply be rude." He answered, figuring if he was a target and this lady knew Abel's last name, it wouldn't be long before others figured out they had a connection. If the woman didn't flee, he planned to possess her again. It was only fair since she had purposely attacked his Abel, who happened to be on the same side of her, or at least he thought the bounty hunters had been on the same side.

Feebly, Abel remained on the concrete, his body weak from the torment it underwent a few moments prior. There was nothing he could accomplish in this condition, the female bounty hunter completing a portion of her objective with a frightening ease. Slowly, his gaze lifted to stare at Benjamin, pray he would obey his demand and escape, saving himself from the torturous pains of electrocution. Unfortunately, this beautiful man possessed other intentions and instead stated a desire to remain beside him, which resulted in the golem flinching. This stubbornness could possibly lead to this man of divine beauty! The luscious green hair that cascaded down in lengthy tendrils, the pleasant angles of his facial features and finally those determined eyes who wanted to defend him from this woman. How did Abel come to deserve such pleasant attention? He could not grasp a feasible reason for why the gods would grant him this incredible partner. Slowly, the blond reached to softly grasped Benjamin's pant leg, tugging slightly to attempt to gain his attention, but not humiliate him.
[break][break]
"Please... please just go... I don't want you to get hurt," Abel pleaded.
[break][break]
When Benjamin provided the information, the woman lifted an eyebrow as her eyes remained locked onto her target. A smirk touched her cherry-coloured lips as she kept her hand extended towards the couple. This sighting was amusing to her, but she would not merely risk her aim in favour of checking the app stored on her phone. The golem glanced her way, watching her eyes flit over them as she debated how exactly she would proceed.
[break][break]
"Then grab Abel's phone and show me. Cause last time I check, there was a handsome price on your head," she stated with a sinister grin. "Listen, darling, I am no idiot. I have you in my sights, and I ain't risking that to glimpse at an application to verify a stupid amount."
[break][break]
The golem flinched, his eyes returning to Benjamin as he prayed his presumed husband would decide to retreat instead of holding his ground to defend him. Naturally, the blond had his phone, but he feared the idea of the ruthless bounty hunter abruptly attacking Benjamin because of the advantage it posed. The next words that left the man's mouth made Abel's heart melt, his eyes widening. This man remained determined to protect him despite all the horrible things he screamed at him a mere few moments ago; how could he deserve somebody like this? He stared at Benjamin, wide-eyed as he attempted to think of how fortunate he was to meet this "stranger".
Benjamin looked down at Abel, "It is alright... You'll see." He promised before looking up at the woman, waiting for her to make her choice before he made his. "Grab his phone and walk closer to you to show you?" He knew exactly how this would work and he couldn't help but not trust her. There was no reason what so ever for him to feel at ease once the proof was provided to her, so it sounded reasonable to him to be an honest mistake if he made the effort to move in the first place. "Lady, you are an idiot because you signed up without getting all of the facts." He would once more focus as to try and possess her. If she wasn't going to risk her aim to look at the app, he would just have to encourage her. If he managed to take possession, he would force her hand to grab her phone before opening up the app to search him. He would then release her from possession so that she could come to realize she had been possessed once more only to notice the phone in her hand and he having remained in his spot. "Chose your next words wisely."
If this was a fight she desired, he'd gladly give her one, this would be her last chance to leave with permission to remain alive. If she didn't take it, he would be forced to kill her. He wasn't a fan of anybody harming his Abel and he didn't need them finding out where their house was located, however he knew that he wouldn't be off the hook if he let her live, but at least the option to leave would still be on the table. Possessing her gives me the advantage to cut her with my pocket knife but do I really want that to be her cause of death? Maybe I should slice her up and let the blood do all of the work... Though he was thinking to himself his next choice of action, his eyes remained on her as he decided the next course of action. This lady wasn't going to get a hit on them even if she chose to fire, he would allow Abel to feel phantom pain but he wouldn't get the main hit, not ever again.

There was no comfort in Ben's words as Abel continued fretting over the safety of the green-haired beauty. The golem felt helpless, the drainage on energy on his body taking an intense toll on the blonde's body. He could hardly move because of what the female bounty hunter accomplished, thus his body remained mostly stationary. Gradually, his heartcore began recovering from the electrocution, slowly taking control over the robotic body. Another attempted was given to rising, although, to no avail as his arms shook feebly and failed to support Abel's weight. Concern appeared to be the only expression the blonde could wear, his inability to assist the mysterious stranger becoming more frightening with each passing minute. What use was this accursed body if he remained stuck on the concrete?! The worry only increased as the golem remembered the woman since she was a bounty hunter renown for her aggressive nature. They were similar in some personality fields, both having an aggressive and untamable anger to their behaviour.
[break][break]
The woman's eyes narrowed at Benjamin's comment as she discovered a dislike to his manner of speaking. She loathed targets who refused to cooperate and obey simple demands like fetching a phone. When the possession commenced, an angry snarl left her lips as the green-haired individual forced her to grab her phone, opening the app to reveal the bounty price. Immediately, her nostrils flared as she noticed only zeroes beside the man's name.
[break][break]
"Ben... please," Abel pleaded. "She will hurt you."
[break][break]
Quietly, Abel continued assisting from the sidewalk, praying Benjamin would obey and flee while he had the opportunity to. A glance was taken towards the woman, Abel's yellow eyes managing to notice the vexation crossing her sharp features. The woman's head glanced towards the green-haired man, the commands only resulting in her eyes narrowing further. Panic immediately settled in, the golem recognizing the expression instantly since he wore it numerous times. Across the woman's countenance was the obvious signs of rage, her face having a scowl as she glared daggers towards her former target. There was likely a malicious intention to harm Benjamin, and Abel already knew he could not protect the incredible man while in this condition. The golem's breath quickened, his eyes darting back towards Benjamin, glancing towards his attractive face with concern evident in his own.
[break][break]
"BEN, PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS, RUN!" He desperately pleaded, praying the lich would flee.
[break][break]
Hastily, the woman took her aim, firing a harsh round of electricity towards Benjamin. The bolts rushed from her fingertips, her phone being discarded to the ground. She was clearly displeased with the manner the green-haired man treated her, thus a determination.
[break][break]
"THEN MAYBE I WILL JUST KILL YOU INSTEAD! YOU ARE A NUISANCE AFTER ALL!" She exclaimed.
[break][break]
The harboured concerned increase, the golem desperately attempting to rise from his position on the ground. He struggled on the sidewalk, his arms shaking each time, displaying their inability to steadily support him. Constantly, he tries forcing himself up, even through any horrible phantom pains that rippled through his body.
Benjamin ignored Abel's plea, he had to understand that he wasn't about to run away, not from his man, not from their home. He was going to stand his ground because he wasn't a push over. Sometimes one had to get their hands dirty for their message to get across and this lady, she was going to get one hell of a message by the time he was done with her. Once more, Abel had pleaded with him to run, this being after he had proven to the woman he wasn't worth anything. So that was her choice, then he would make his next. He recut his hand for more blood to come out to use as a shield as she fired at them. It wouldn't hold back for long and he would feel the power of the shock, falling on one knee because of it. "You come to a man's home, not only intruding but attack his love ones. I won't forgive you." He answered, forcing himself to stand back up, prepared to punish her for her stupidity. He would create darkness around them, making it impossible for the lady to see where he was at, but she would feel the tiny blade up against her neck within a few seconds.
"You only have yourself to blame." He would whisper, slicing her neck with the pocket knife, he would back away as he controlled her blood to move around them, becoming a solid as it choked her. Within a few minutes he would wait for her to die, ensuring she wouldn't come back before allowing the darkness to disappear, feeling tired that he had to hold it up to make sure the woman wouldn't be able to purposely attack Abel again. He would leave her on the ground before walking towards Abel, first wiping the blood on his shirt before closing the pocket knife to slip it into his pocket before leaning over to try and help Abel up. He would then help Abel into the house, careful with him before encouraging him to sit on the couch. "Are you alright?" He whispered, not at all worried about Abel possibly noticing the gun in the back of his pants when he had helped him inside the house. He wasn't sure how he could help him but he was feeling worried because Abel was out of power and he could still sense the phantom pain within him.

[attr="class","lovemad2"]
Feebly, Abel struggled on the concrete, desperately praying he could assist Benjamin; somebody needed to keep that man safe! The woman was renown in the Hallow Order for her fierce attitude and short-tempered nature. Unfortunately, the golem found himself condemned to the concrete, his lack of energy resulting in a difficulty of rising from the ground. The battle began, the woman firing her electricity while a fire settled behind her eyes, the anger increasing tremendously. A phantom pain pulsated through Abel's hands, his yellow eyes glancing towards Benjamin where they widened as a shield of blood was created between the electricity and them. Despite a majority being aimed towards the green-haired beauty, he made the shield large enough to protect both of them. The red liquid could only remain strong for so long, the electricity eventually breaking through to attack his precious Benjamin. Panic flared, Abel's eyes widening as phantom pain ravaged his body, resulting in a gasp of surprise from the intensity.
[break][break]
For years, the golem seldom felt pain, creating difficulty in taking the phantom pains. These were sensations he never grew used to, his mechanical body designed to limit the amount of pain he could feel; pain could be a distraction. The blond's eyes slowly returned to Benjamin, concern captured in them as he noticed the lich had been brought to his knees. Witnessing the display resulted in Abel's heart aching immensely, his desires to protect Benjamin increasing with each passing second. Again, the golem attempted to rise, only managing to get slightly higher before his lack of energy failed. The shocking had caused minor damage to his heartcore, making it difficult for the piece that powered his body to operate hastily. A guilt began manifesting, the blond feeling horrible for being unable to protect the man who continued to treat him sweetly.
[break][break]
"I'm sorry..." he mumbled from the floor. "... I can't get up..."
[break][break]
Listening to Benjamin's speech to the woman as he forced himself to his feet was surprising for several reasons. Love remained a foreign concept since death, the golem never being capable of reciprocating those intense feelings. There was never an instance where he accepted somebody's offer for a date or stated those three words. Perhaps it was because his heart was waiting for an individual who held complete loyalty and who would persistently attempt to obtain his affection, and currently, the mysterious lich displayed it. Despite the hurtful words, Benjamin appeared keen on protecting him, stating his desires to not lose him again prior. Then there were the impressive capabilities of human determination, where despite the direness of a situation, they could hold the bravery to push forward and protect those they cared about. Silently, Abel watched from the concrete as the darkness hid him away, still feeling guilty that Benjamin could accomplish the task of protecting him as a mere human. When the darkness dissipated as Benjamin returned to him, leaning down to assist him back to his feet. The golem clung, his lack of steadiness generating concerns of falling to the concrete again. Once inside, the blond was settled onto the couch, sinking into the cushions with exhaustion claiming him.

"Does hurt pride count?" Abel mumbled.

There was a moment to lazily glance around, the house's interior having a strange familiarity despite Abel never recalling being inside the building; even the way the couch held him was oddly nostalgic. While his eyes glanced, he noticed what appeared to be the handle of a gun jutting out from Benjamin's pocket.

"What's that?" He mumbled, pointing to it.

Presumably, the gun could have been used for protection, but nonetheless left Abel curious to why Benjamin would possess the firearm. A moment was taken to try and reach for it, unfortunately, the bounty hunter could hardly move because of his lack of power.
