Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Willow couldn't help but frown when he asked her why. "Why not?" She asked, confused on why he would ask her such a thing. She could hear something coming from outside, she ducked, listening with the hope of being able to hear what was going on from outside. As much as she disliked being quiet, he was right, if they wanted to get out of this alive, she would have to refrain from talking back to him. Or at least until they were alone again. She slowly walked down the stairs, inching closer to the window before peeking outside. She sighed when she was unable to see any Terrors. Well it looks like they are gone now...
rowan had motioned for her to be quiet and for once she listened to him. he stayed crouched down trying to hear who or what was outside. there best bet was to stay inside. the threat didn't make any attempts to try to get inside. they weren't calling out for any survivors either. as far as he knew terrors couldn't talk.
next thing he knew the door handle started to move. it was obvious that it would take them a bit before whatever was trying to get in would get inside. rowan moved from his spot and headed towards willow."let's go."he whispered, but the question was. was there another exit?
Willow moved away from the window when she heard the door handle start to move. Unaware on if there was another exit or not, she reached out to attempt to grab his hand before walking back upstairs. I don't know if there is another exit or not, but we can't stay here.... She thought to herself, hoping her healing would hurry up so that she could fly again. Downstairs, she could hear the door open, footsteps from down below before they had finally come to a stop. She breathed, hoping they wouldn't check upstairs, going out the window sounded scary even if she could fly.
did fear always bring people together? he didn't think twice about lacing his fingers with hers. after the door started to move he quickly made his way towards her. her hand stretched out towards him. he took it without a second thought."what should we do now?"he whispered quietly. obviously they needed to leave. was there another exit?
they could try to hide, but if they had a good sense of smell they would be found within seconds."a fire escape? maybe there are stairs."he whispered once more. his mind was trying to think of something, but all he could do was try to listen to the intruders downstairs. were they friend or foe?
Willow listened to his question, debating on the window or if they should hide here instead. He mentioned fire escape and she crawled towards the window, opening it slowly, waving her hand at him she crawled out of the window. A fire escape exists here.... Thank god, I don't have to fly right now. She thought to herself as she climbed down the ladder, trying to go faster so that she wouldn't be holding Rowan up if he chose to follow close behind her. There was still screaming from nearby, thankfully not down the block they were currently located in. Now where?
it seemed like they were in luck. his eyes had searched, hoped that their would be a fire escape of some kind. thankfully there was. he sighed with relief and they rushed towards it."go im right behind you."he whispered as he watched willow head down first.
he tried to hear what was happening downstairs. it seemed like there was enough buffer between the two rooms. hopefully they couldn't hear them trying to escape. after willow made it down rowan scurried out. so much for waiting for help. he wasn't sure what the next plan was. he dropped down besides her and without a thought stuck his hand out towards her."you lead the way."
Willow didn't have to be told twice, she didn't waste any time climbing down. The last thing she wanted was to run the risk of holding Rowan up. Once he was on the ground with her, he had reached out his hand and she willingly took it. He told her to lead the way and she glanced both directions before pulling him behind her to head towards once. Of course when they would get to a corner, she planned on peeking around to make sure it was clear before heading across the street. She didn't want to possibly lead them towards Terrors or AP members. "I don't know where to go." She whispered, mostly to herself but he was in earshot.
fear made you do crazy things and even at times the impossible or was that courage? he didn't care. at the moment he just wanted to be as far away from here as possible. fingers laced with hers, he wanted to make sure they didn't get separated. they continued to run."i thought you had a plan."he said as he took a couple of breaths.
"it's okay, let's catch our breath and then decide what our next move will be."he told her with a smile."is there a trs building or something around here? wait did you hear that?"he backed up against the wall and tried to make out what sound like a terror."don't make a noise. trust me."he told her as he concentrated on the darkness around him. slowly they were soon hidden by the dark. he hoped whatever was going to show up around the corner any minute wouldn't be trying to sniff them out.
Willow sighed, "Sometimes winging it, is a good enough plan...." She whispered, not willing to argue with him about this right now. It was nice to hear him say that it was okay, they could figure out their next move later. "Yeah, it is just a few blocks away." She whispered, pausing when he asked if she had heard that. Telling her not to make a noise, earned a pout, she didn't like being told to hush even if it would save their lives. She held her breath as the noise became louder. Hoping that they wouldn't be noticed by who or want was coming around the corner. The noise got louder and she breathed heavier as she realized it was a Terror. Her hand gripped his tighter out of fear.
he felt her fear. the way she was squeezing his hand. he was squeezing back. hiding in the shadows could only do so much. if they made too much noise they could be discovered. he hoped the terrors sense of smell wasn't great. it didn't seem to be sniffing around. just walking around, stumbling around trying to find something.
he wanted to close his eyes, but he didn't want to miss the chance of making a run for it if they had to. he needed to calm his breathing. only then did he realize it wasn't him breathing heavily. he had been watching the terror, but now turned to look at willow. she looked and sounded like he felt. though his fear wasn't as noticeable. he couldn't falter otherwise their cover would cease.
he knew it wasn't going to last forever. at some point they would be discovered. he looked at her and smiled. he knew that they had to some how make the terror head in a different direction. he knew it was pointless to try to push her to safety while he played the diversion. she was stubborn and could already see that plan failing before it was even executed. he searched around for something that he could throw and thus both making their escape.
he dug his phone out and with one hand set a timer. after showing her the timer he motioned for her to be ready. hopefully it wouldn't break on impact, after all he did have his phone in a case. he took a deep breath, got into position and threw his phone."go!"he said even though he was the one that started running.
as they ran he could hear the timer go off. which meant they were still too close. they needed to pick up the pace.
Willow was too scared to look back at Rowan, finding herself staring at that Terror instead. Hoping that it wouldn't notice them. It took a lot of effort to remain quiet so that it hopefully wouldn't notice them. When Rowan had removed his phone from his pocket she had found herself confused, why would he take it out at a time like this? He had showed her the timer before motioning her to be ready. The real question was, to be ready for what. When Rowan had tossed the phone, it had startled her. He had told her to go and she was quick to follow after him. They were after all holding hands, or at least she hadn't been the one volunteering to let go. The phone was still too close and she could hear that Terror behind them. As they ran, she could hear people rounding the corner, they wore the TRS uniform. She kept running refusing to stop even though they had been saved by TRS agents. She would go into the TRS building and hide instead, finally being able to take a breath. "I never want to do that again." She mumbles, breathing heavy, fearful those TRS agents won't be enough to keep the Terrors away from them.
he wasn't sure if his plan was going to work or not, but it was worth a shot. he didn't want to look back. he ran with willow, hands gripping each other's tightly. he didn't want to lose her. not with all they had been through. they were going to make it. or at least that's what he told himself as they kept running. he didn't stop, not even if he wanted to. willow kept going.
past the trs agents and straight into the building. it was like no matter what they did they were never going to escape. that thing would come get them one way or another. after running into the building. hands wrapped around his shoulders. blocking him from going any further."you're safe now."is what they said.
were they really? he sighed and crumpled to the floor. he was so tired he could sleep for days. all he wanted was to go home. get away from all this chaos. forget the screams and how close to dying they had been.
