Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Throughout the spring months, Starlight Beach became a suffocating location. People crowded for the Spring Carnival, overflowing onto portions of the beach as they enjoyed themselves. Some even occupied Starlight Cliff, disrupting the breath-taking view of sun dancing across endless waves. A waltz of light across the liquid surface, glimmering in unspeakable beauty. Alas, the sight was obstructed on this spring afternoon. People had swarmed the magnificent beaches, therefore, Liam retreated from his favoured reading location for a walk through the Calico Forest.
[break][break]
The constant chatter of joyous individuals was pleasant, however, distracting for the cherubim. He desired to plunge into the recent book he purchased, a cutesy romance genre. A little earlier in the day, Liam had packed a sachel with his book, a baggie of goldfish crackers and a bottle of water. Grinning merrily, he grabbed his phone, shoved it in his pocket and headed out the door giddy about reading his book. The back declared it a wondrous work of sugary sweet romantic interactions, from soft cuddling to Eskimo kisses.
[break][break]
Thinking about the romantic work inside his navy-coloured bag made the silver-haired teen's heart flutter joyously. There was a skip in the young boy's step as he weaved through the sidewalks of Lorsette. Sunlight poured down from the sky, creating a magnificent spring day. Birds chirped and cooed through the bustle of city life, soon to become a common noise. The grey-haired cherubim proceeded happily on his walks, strides carrying him closer to the infamous Calico forest. Eventually, sidewalks gave way to as Liam stood at the threshold of the infamous forest.
[break][break]
The young boy's green eyes scanned the area, admiring the elegant branches holding their green leaves. Everything was lively within the forest, from the subtle sways of plantlife bowing to a gentle breeze to the louder birdsong. Slowly, a reserved smile crawled onto Liam's lips. The first steps were taken into the shade of the forest canopy. As he walked down the old dirt path, he admired the nature surrounding him. The radiant beams of light shining through breaks in the leafy roof, the chitter of happy squirrels and calls of small birds.
[break][break]
Curiously, his green eyes glanced around as he proceeded up the path, destination in mind, Cattail Lake. During the spring months where the beach was flooded with people, Cattail Lake became relatively quiet. There would be people attempting to avoid the loudness of the carnival, however, it was limited. Plenty of people wanted to spend their hours participating in games to earn prizes. The soft sound of waves hit the cherubim's ears, his smile growing larger. He began running up the path, hurrying to enter the clearing that held Cattail Lake.
[break][break]
A soft 'awe' escaped his slightly parted lips upon witnessing the infamous lake. Light danced across its surface while tall cattails swayed in the wind, accompanied by their dance partners of tall, slim pieces of grass. There were a few groups of people, talking while holding conspicuous cans of some type of drink. They appeared to mind their business, exchanging hush stories between one another. The cherubim's eyes explored the scene, hesitant to step closer to the lake, where most people decided to station themselves.
[break][break]
The green-eyed adolescent stuck close to the treeline, walking along it until he discovered a suitable tree to sit beneath. The tree was smaller than the ancient oak he read beneath once, however, more lively. Carefully, Liam eased into a sitting position, sachel laying by his side meanwhile his back pressed against the rough bark. The bag was opened as the cherubim searched for his precious book.

There was a vague familiarity about the mysterious boy he conversed with, although Liam chalked it beneath brief passings in school corridors. They appeared approximately the same age and considering they attended the same school, faces could be familiar without a name to tag. Not to mention, Liam personally volunteered himself for the school matchmaker events and witnessed multiple names and faces; including those who regularly avoided sign ups.
[break][break]
Alas, Liam lacked a name to place to the white-haired boy’s face. Grey eyes gazed over the cherubim’s form, anxiety sparking as hairs raised. Intimidation pressured the small, timid student, causing his eyes to initiate a staring contest with the library floor tiles. The green-eyed child’s shoulders raised in an attempt to obscure the view of his face. He always got nervous when people attempted to achieve a glance over of his form, even when it was merely for recognition purposes. When the boy finished, Liam hesitantly glanced up at him, however, his green eyes refused to meet the stranger’s face.
[break][break]
The soft chuckle followed by the curious comment manifested a nervousness in Liam’s gut. Was he supposed to have something in mind?! Inside his chest, his heart anxiously fluttered while butterflies swooped inside his stomach. He wanted to appear normal, alas, his attempts to avoid full truth made things a tad abnormal... Most students could at least provide a genre rather than aimlessly looking around... The stranger continued, inquiring about whether he favoured the horror genre of literature. Immediately, Liam flinched and shook his head ‘no’ in a hasty manner.
[break][break]
“I... I... don’t want nightmares,” he squealed out, attempting to keep his voice hushed.
[break][break]
Romance or adventure books were oftentimes Liam’s favoured genres. Adorable romance novels warmed his heart with the amount of softness and exquisite interpretation of emotions between partners. It created happiness and furthermore gave a slew of date ideas for when he assisted his classmates. Meanwhile joining a hero on their exciting fantasy adventure resulted in him grinning in glee as villains were conquered and princesses rescued. As for horror? A NIGHTMARE-INDUCING SCARE FEST OF ENDLESS ANXIETIES AND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS!
[break][break]
Never would he desire those types of evenings where he hid beneath the warmth sanction of his covers, paranoid about every single noise. Whether it was Belmont Manor settling or the steps of a security guard on his rounds, it frightened him. For years, he swore off of horror movies in a desperate attempt to avoid those sleepless eves.

The seemingly exhausted fellow student was a yawning machine it seemed. Through the answers, Liam watched as the mysterious boy proceeded to yawn. The display of tiredness proved the boy wished that somewhere in the school laid awaiting cot, however, only the nurse’s infirmary held such a luxury. Not to mention, students could not waltz inside and flop down onto the white mattress for a quick nap. The bed needed to be open for sickly students or those who became the unfortunate victims of thrown fists or schoolyard accidents.
[break][break]
Part of him wondered in the stranger stayed up late. There were plenty of high school students who indulged in those practices, Liam not being among them. In the Belmont household, discipline was practiced constantly which included the children being sent to bed on time. Perhaps it made Liam a bit of a goody-two-shoes at times, but he appreciated arriving at school well-rested opposed to absolutely exhausted. Finally, the student stood from his position on the floor, revealing his full height that was higher than Liam's; as a cherubim, he inherited those short genes.
[break][break]
He nodded when the stranger explained he would have woken from is slumber anyways. The young cherubim was relieved he woke somebody with a laid-back attitude. Then books were brought up and Liam recalled his purpose for coming to the library.
[break][break]
"Ah, yes... I almost forgot... but... I don't know what to pick anyways," Liam explained softly.
[break][break]
Plus the unmentioned fact of wanting to avoid his soulmate of a classmate for as long as possible to avoid accidentally falling in love! Cherubims could not be with their soulmates, it was a golden rule. Their jobs were to assist others in discovering their true love while never biting into the sweet, forbidden fruit.
[attr="class","newworldbot"]MANY HAVE TOLD ME ( YET I STILL DON'T KNOW )
The cherubim's wandering through the shelves allowed him to discover the young stranger, although, he wondered if he wanted to be found, to begin with. Initially, Liam's thoughts never crossed the possibility of his fellow student desiring to hide amidst the library shelves. He should have maybe overlooked the quiet young man lying in the corner and instead had focused on "finding" a book. Then again, a distraction was a welcomed existence for the young cherubim attempting to avoid his soulmate at every turn.
[break][break]
The green-eyed boy stood, taking a few steps back to provide the stranger with the room he required to stretch. Silently, Liam witnessed as the stranger's arms moved straight up, a yawn leaving his mouth as he stretched. Oh dear, it seemed his fellow schoolmate was sleeping and he woke them without a second thought... There was a select group who would get annoyed at the short student's intervention to their slumber, hence, he hoped the boy he woke was not among them. There was more relief as the stranger stated he was alright and displayed no expressions of being upset.
[break][break]
The following words caused Liam's eyes to widen as the boy inquired about his well-being and informed him he could tell the teacher. Wh-what if the boy fell asleep on accident? He would get in trouble should he tell.
[break][break]
"Um... I'm fine," Liam began slowly, "and I won't tell. Sorry, I woke you."
[break][break]
The apology escaped Liam's lips naturally, almost as though the saying was automatic. Meekness infected the young boy's heart, thus he would sooner apologize than stir the pot. Avoiding conflict was considered the ultimate goal of surviving high school in Liam's opinion. Therefore, teachers would be unaware of the situation which unfolded in the back of the library.
[attr="class","newworldbot"]MANY HAVE TOLD ME ( YET I STILL DON'T KNOW )
Concern was evident on the grey-haired teen's face as he attempted to gain knowledge about the boy's condition. If the stranger required assistance, Liam was determined to lend it where needed or scurry off to fetch the librarian. The cherubim's large, green eyes watched the white-haired boy, curious on if he would respond to the actions being accomplished. The book on the ground and spread legs suggested the teen could have fallen unconscious and required healing. Anxiously, Liam awaited a reaction from his schoolmate, hoping he would receive one.
[break][break]
After a few moments of shaking, the teenager stirred and began rubbing his eyes with the palms of his hands. Relief showered over Liam similar to a hard rainstorm. There was a calmness that settled onto the grey-haired teen's shoulders, although, being aware did not confirm wellness. Sleepiness was evident in the stranger's eyes, hence revealing the truth about the white-haired kid's situation. He probably dozed off to the world of dreams while he was reading his book. Slowly, Liam released his fellow teen, hand reaching to awkwardly scratch the back of his head.
[break][break]
"Um... are you okay?" Liam asked again, anxiousness still in his voice.
[break][break]
Inquiring a second time was something the grey-haired teen decided there was no harm in repeating. He could at least assure the teen was alright, there was no harm in it.
[attr="class","newworldbot"]MANY HAVE TOLD ME ( YET I STILL DON'T KNOW )
Cold outside weather kept Liam inside whenever possible; he even scurried quickly into the school upon his arrival. He wished to avoid the shivers of a chilly winter’s day. Classes passed in a blur, the young, grey-haired teen going about his work to assure homework would not exist. The sounds of his pencil etching into paper alongside the quiet chatter of his fellow classmates filled the cherubim's ears. Fixation on work allowed Liam to ignore the possibility of seeing Robyn... the individual his thread connected to... the precious soulmate thread which dictated a lover of destiny.
[break][break]
His species forbade acting on those desires for endless romance and happiness. The Belmonts were supposed to be loyal matchmakers who assisted with couples discovering love and maintain their relationships. Tradition existed, and Liam was expected to uphold those values. The constant focus on school work kept his thoughts from wandering to fantasies of holding his soulmate's hand, pulling them into a hug and eventually their faces getting close- no need to speak on those actions! They would never exist between him and Robyn, it was the forbidden fruit.
[break][break]
Answers were being etched until suddenly, there were no more questions to answer. The young boy's green eyes widened as he realized his task was completed and therefore, his distraction gone! He needed something to keep his thoughts off Robyn else he thought of those romantic curiosities, like how warm his hand- STOP! The anxious young man rose from his desk, cautiously approaching the teacher whose gaze was on the computer screen. A sideways glance was accomplished by Liam's somewhat distracted teacher.
[break][break]
"Yes, Liam?" He stated, eyes returning to the computer screen.
[break][break]
"Um... I finished my work... May I go to the library and get a book, please?" He quietly explained and asked.
[break][break]
"Yes, go ahead. Come right back when you are done please," the teacher said, granting permission.
[break][break]
Hastily, the grey-haired teen turned away from his teacher and scurried towards the door. In a smooth action he slipped out the door, closing it behind him. A sigh of relief breathed through Liam's lips as he entered the hallway. Through the corridors he ventured, mind fixating on things other than Robyn. The cherubim hurried down the stairs, entering the hallway which led to the large school library. Softly, he pushed open the doors, entering without anybody paying much mind to him. He began weaving through the bookshelves, green eyes glancing over the spines of books.
[break][break]
A thought occurred as he traversed the book-filled room... The longer he took choosing a book, the less time he would be required to spend in the same classroom as Robyn. With those notions orbiting, Liam slowly walked through the halls, pretending to be uncertain about the book he wanted to read. Moments later, he reached the furthest corner of the library where old textbooks and yearbooks were stationed. He entered the hallway slowly, glancing around to make sure nobody spotted his walk into the section.
[break][break]
Gradually, he moved through the shelves, eyes flitting until noticing a young teen curled in the corner. Confusion flickered before dissipating to worry. Was there something wrong with the stranger? Hesitantly, Liam approached, a hand reaching to softly touch the other teen's shoulder.
[break][break]
"H-hey, are you okay?" He whispered.
[break][break]
Gently, the cherubim gave the mysterious man a little shake in hopes of gaining his attention. He wanted to make sure the stranger was not upset about anything or needed a teacher. It never occurred to Liam the teen could desire some time to nap.
[attr="class","newworldbot"]MANY HAVE TOLD ME ( YET I STILL DON'T KNOW )
Admittedly, Liam was slightly frightened by the man's attitude, however, there was nothing negative about it. The three-eyed seer seemed friendly and kind, albeit, excitable. The eagerness evident in Rajah's voice made it awkward for the shy, quiet cherubim. There was an energetic vibe from the white-haired man, which the high school student would inevitably fail to match because of his personality. The bookworm of a boy remained nestled between the roots of the oak as he attempted to think of methods to properly interact with his acquaintance.
[break][break]
As the man introduced himself, with the addition of other words, Liam embraced his book tightly, struggling to remain calm in the current situation. He was extremely anxious about meeting new people. Expectations weighed heavily on Liam's shoulders, and his parents expected him to be a marvellous child who would one day marry for the future of the Belmont family. They were requested to assist others in finding the people they were destined to be with. Cherubims were created to view the strings which tied soulmates, thus, zodiacs and other methods never entered Liam's head.
[break][break]
Slowly, the teenager nodded at the mysterious man when he stated he never meant to startle him. Unfortunately, the task was an easy one to accomplish.
[break][break]
"It's okay," he murmured. "I scare easy... it's nice to meet you, Rajah."
[break][break]
The words were soft-spoken and kindly, notes of reassurance clear in Liam's voice despite the subtle hints of nervousness and shyness. It was a pleasant mixture of sweetness and anxiety captured in the manner he spoke; it was natural for the socially awkward boy. Only moments later did he detect the man's words, Liam's eyes glancing up through the branches. The mighty oak held several dying branches hidden beneath the thick, dark-coloured leaves. A frown traced across the green-eyed boy's lips as he realized the poor state of the tree.
[attr="class","newworldbot"]MANY HAVE TOLD ME ( YET I STILL DON'T KNOW )
Frightened by the abrupt presence of the white-haired man, Liam kept his back pressed against the tree. Rough bark lightly dug into the high school student's back, the oak's hard surface being uncomfortable against his back. Arms were wrapped around Liam's knees while his heart nervously fluttered over thoughts of social interaction, shyly glancing away from the mysterious stranger. These types of situations were hardly favourable to the grey-haired boy, solely because of his bashful and timid nature. Quietly, Liam glanced at the romance novel, attempting to gather some definition of courage for conversation. An anxious young boy trying to interact with a mysterious and seemingly excitable stranger appeared like a hopeless attempt. Promptly after acquiring Liam's name and zodiac, the rambling from the white-haired man began once again. Everything about the man was a little peculiar, specifically the eye centred on his forehead, or perhaps two smaller ones? The grey-haired student was uncertain with his lack of proper observation. Unfortunately, the amount of nervousness in Liam's veins kept him from properly analyzing the individual.
[break][break]
The descriptors used to describe Virgos were interesting, his self-conscious thinking only allowing a few traits to be acknowledges. Alas, Liam found himself noticing heavy differences, specifically strength of character and shrewdness. He was familiar with zodiac signs, but the matchmaker never used them for his pairings.
[break][break]
"Um... not really," Liam meekly responded.
[break][break]
Zodiacs hardly dictated how people should display themselves, personalities being decided by upbringing under most situations. Years of learning the expectations of a cherubim allowed Liam to be privy to information related to the occupation of his species. As a matchmaker, Liam was required to discover people who would be marvellous pairings as couples. Not everybody would find their soulmate, but some people could create a loving relationship and not be soulmates. Partners in marriage never required a magical connection, since some found love in those beautiful ways.
[attr="class","newworldbot"]MANY HAVE TOLD ME ( YET I STILL DON'T KNOW )
Nose shoved deep into a book, Liam's green eyes fixated on words written on ink across white paper. Everything about the story enthralled the young cherubim. Everything around him was forgotten, the beautiful environment around the grey-haired boy setting him at ease. Birds chirped in the distance while wind rustled the branches above, manifesting a peaceful location for the young student to peacefully read his romance. Tastes of sweet romantic ideas made Liam's heart flutter, a soft sigh escaping the boy's mouth. Sometimes, he wished he could indulge in the notion of soulmates, a beautiful notion involving a magical connection between two people. Unfortunately, being a cherubim made, indulging in those sweet desires was completely forbidden for Liam. It was an upsetting notion, however, a requirement for being his species. A frown graced the cherubim's face as he bookmarked the page and closed his precious novel while pondering 'if only's. If only he was not a cherubim, then he could have the one thing he was forced to fear by his parents and species standing. Alas, the pondering was short-lived as the grey-haired man tensed and squealed in fright, heartbeat increasing, because he was startled by somebody shouting a greeting from above.
[break][break]
The young student glanced up, noticing the individual dressed in white, hanging around the branches of the mighty oak tree. For a moment, Liam breathed, shocked by the person above him. Seconds later, the individual, who appeared to be male, began climbing down, only to start falling. Another surprised yelp escaped Liam's mouth as he tightened the grip around his knees, pressing his back against the oak tree. The young high school student was thoroughly startled by the white-haired man, however, Liam stayed still. Sheepish mannerisms were displayed before a name was provided along with a zodiac and a request for his.
[break][break]
"Um... Liam... I'm a Virgo," the boy explained in a higher pitch voice.
[break][break]
Tones of nervousness were evident when he spoke, the young student still rattled by the boisterous entrance of the white-haired man. He embraced his knees tightly, keeping them close to his chest, his book similar being moved closer. The romance novel remained settled on his legs, comfortably stationed between his legs and chest. The young cherubim was nervous about the interaction, his eyes avoiding the stranger's and instead watched the subtle movements of the bushes in the wind. In all respects, Liam could hardly manage himself in conversation, thus, he remained silent and completely uncertain about what he should say.

700 words for @rajah [break] The thread is here! Viola~
[attr="class","newworldmid"]
Warmer days were disappearing as autumn inched closer with plans of invading and grasping summer's hold on Lorsette. Each passing day resulted in summer's hold loosening its vice grip hold on the weather. Fortunately, there were still some fleeting summer days lingering throughout the numbered days of the warmer months. September would eventually arrive, heralding the expected chills of fall alongside the anticipated return of children to their respective schools. As morning roused Liam that morning, thoughts of the upcoming school year and retreat of summer orbited around the young cherubim's mind. Opportunities to enjoy pleasant outside weather were becoming fewer as autumn tromped on summer's heels. Thus, as somebody who adored warm weather, Liam prepared to enjoy the sunny, summer day. Sunlight was shining through the windows of the Belmont household as the young cherubim hastily readied himself for his afternoon spent enjoying the favourable weather.
[break][break]
Hastily, he packed a satchel with his the book he was reading, a water bottle and a baggie filled with goldfish crackers. A light sweater was wrapped around him, a simple navy colour with a pair of black jeans covering his legs. Once pleased with his attire, Liam hurried out the door for a wonderful day spent in sunlight and warmth. Down the dull sidewalks, the cherubim walked, his green eyes glancing around at the tall buildings, however, avoided anybody wandering the streets. As a timid individual, Liam always felt awkward whenever fleeting moments of eye contact occurred. A quick skip of a heartbeat while fear leaned over his shoulder, close and chilling despite it being a meagre moment of gazes connecting. Thus, whenever Liam noticed somebody else entering the sidewalk, his eyes locked with the bland concrete below his feet. Each step taken allowed him to close the distance between himself and his destination.
[break][break]
Calico Forest, a quiet place surrounded by nature and perfectly peaceful for delving into a marvellous story involving a sweet romance plot. Gradually, the buildings, bland sidewalks and people were abandoned for tall trees, dirt paths and lingering animals beneath the endless underbrush. Immediately, Liam's awe-filled eyes glanced around the area, admiring the beautiful trees stretching up to reach an azure sky. Leaves clung to their green colouring, a telltale signs of that few tourists would be exploring the beautiful Calico Forest, renown for its autumn colours. Birds joyously chirped from the hanging branches, rustling them as subtle background noise to their winsome song. The cherubim's green eyes observed those delightful little birds, briefly walking backwards to prolong his viewing. After a few moments, Liam's gaze returned forward as he relished in the fresh air and breath-taking scenery of nature.
[break][break]
As Liam wandered through down those earthen paths, he closed in on Cattail Lake. The sounds of people could be narrowly heard, something which kept the meek grey-haired boy from proceeding forward. Contemplation was accomplished, a mere few minutes being taken before the cherubim abandoned the pathway. Through the brush, he travelled, slow and cautious as he entered the high grass and bushes. Only a few steps were taken into the brush, enough to make him difficult to notice from the path, but would allow him to navigate back when the time arrived to leave. Constantly, the cherubim's eyes wandered, eventually finding a large oak tree with giant, partially surfaced roots. Instantly, Liam's eyes widened as his jaw dropped at the incredible find not far from the path. A smile emerged on his lips moments later as he giddily approached the amazing tree and settled himself beneath it. Sitting between the large roots was a comfortable experience as Liam enjoyed the shady area. The young boy's bag was settled beside him, his knees coming up as he settled his chosen book on his lap to begin the process of reading.
[break][break]
Hastily, his attention was completely captured by the words on the page, the stunning depictions of scenery and emotion quickly enthralling him in another romantic tale! Excitement filled his veins as he read through the pages, unable to notice if anything was happening around him. Commonly, Liam's mind would be held captive by these stories, thus, he found himself unable to break his attention from the wonderful book.
[attr="class","newworldbot"]MANY HAVE TOLD ME ( YET I STILL DON'T KNOW )
Small is the strongest descriptor of Liam’s appearance because of his cherubim genes. He stands at the meagre 4’8”, but hopes he may gain a few more inches before he stops growing. Due to Liam’s species, he is not expected to get any taller than 5’, which means he is destined to be a shorter man. Delicate and thin is definitely Liam’s body type because of both his age and lack of bulk building. He lacks any muscles remotely, making him extremely weak in physical situations and, furthermore, easy to overpower with physical attacks. There is a gracefulness to his slender features, however, he usually keeps his body hidden since he is extremely self-conscious. Liam’s fingers are quite slender and long, although the young man finds it awkward, thus he keeps his hands hidden by the cuffs of sweaters. His complexion is fair to a borderline pale colour because he finds he burns more than he tans. The softness of his skin is a surprising trait for most, however, this is mostly impart to his upbringing. There are no scars or notable blemishes across a majority of his body, thus his skin appears unbroken and well-cared for.
There are slender angles to Liam’s face, soft despite his thin body. High cheek bones are gentle, leading down to a softly rounded chin. He has a petite, rounded nose on his face, a majority of their features have a delicate softness to them. The young man has a feminine face, his eyelashes being longer, thus manifesting this impression. Across his cheeks and the bridge of his nose are plenty of small freckles. The immortal quality of cherubims maintain these freckles, making it unlikely for them to disappear. Gentle green eyes are placed above these freckles, the light green colour usually makes them not very eye-catching. They lack shine and furthermore, he avoids eye contact with others whenever possible. Messy, grey hair sits atop his head, hasty grooming sessions resulting in a messier hairstyle. Under most circumstances, he nearly becomes late because of how much he reads.
High-quality, casually styled clothing is something Liam wears frequently. While the Belmont family oftentimes prefers formal and professional clothing, they warrant their children to wear comfortable casual clothes when attending public school or going out with friends. Public school is valued for teaching social protocols, however, they feel the need to conform to appropriate clothing trends so their children can mingle without possible bullying over petty matters like clothes. For Liam, he usually picks lighter coloured t-shirts with a pair of dark jeans or shorts. Occasionally, he changes this up depending solely on his personal preference for the day. He adores soft, large hoodies which embrace and maintain warmth. During social gatherings such as galas, especially when it involves other wealthy parties. Dress shirts and pants are frequently worn when these events occur.
When his wings are manifested, Liam has three pairs of elegant, white wings. They are feathery and extremely soft to the touch. He grooms them whenever possible, making them beautiful wings. They spawn a little below his shoulders and are rather large.
Love Sensory -- Mastered The ability to sense how much people love one another, even reaching lengths to know what type of love and see the connections between soulmates. Sensing the love between people is a crucial ability in the Belmont family. They are to provide guidance to people searching for love as expected of their species. As a result, Liam has focused heavily on his abilities to sense those connections between people, even reaching lengths to sense if the love is familial, romantic, platonic, etc. Similarly, he can few the strings which tie soulmates together, even allowing him to play an excellent matchmaker should the opportunity present itself. This being said, Liam cannot predict possible couples if there is no soulmate connection, he can merely assume based on personality, appearance and common interests. Since he can sense love, he can also sense a lack there of affection emotions, allowing him to effectively know how other people feel towards others. He is unable to control these emotions.
Blessings -- Advanced The ability to bless people to give them strength, luck, energy or to promote positive emotions, however, these cannot be used on the user. The support of positive emotions is a crucial tool amidst the Belmonts, especially when discussing sensitive relationship topics. Other blessings usually took a backseat during training sessions for the one which assisted in these situations. Fortunately, this never stopped Liam from learning more about the marvellous ability. He adores blessing others, especially when it helps them succeed. Being a generous soul, Liam would gladly use his ability to bless others. These blessings are minor enchantments, but nonetheless can at times provide the power needed to accomplish the task at hand. Unlike his other blessings, promoting positive emotions tends to take the least amount of energy. This is the result of countless training. Overuse of the other types of blessings can result in grogginess.
Charms -- Intermediate The ability to empower an item with special magic which can help the other person feel more comfortable. Among the Belmonts, charms have a limited use which oftentimes surprise others. Their charms are very minimalistic, usually being a method to make people feel calm while discussing difficult topics. Otherwise, they are rarely used despite their usefulness to others. Similar to the remainder of his family, Liam has limited knowledge of charms and their capabilities. Alas, this has resulted in curiosity over the subject of charms and what they can do. Currently, Liam’s charm abilities are limited to a calmness promoting type as expected of his family, but he has researched more information. Due to lack of training, leaving his comfort zone with his charm-making abilities will take more magical energy.
Light Force Fields -- Beginner The ability to make force fields which are strong against physical attacks and light magic, however, can be weak against dark magic and cursed items. The Belmonts have never been fighters, thus these light force fields have been an ignored ability. As a result, Liam is clueless about getting the ability to activate at his own will. If anything, this ability only manifests itself when Liam is in distress. The shields created are very weak and happen abruptly if he is frightened. Due to lack of proper training, these shields consume lots of energy and are very fragile. At most, Liam can keep these shields up for 1-2 minutes before they disappear.
Healing -- Intermediate The ability to mend tissues back together, accelerating the healing rate of wounds and sickness, allowing the other person to recover fully from those afflictions. Healing was never an important ability in the Belmont family. There were no emotion-based strengths in the ability, therefore it is among the abilities not trained in their family. Since being a young child, Liam was always interested in healing others and making himself helpful. For days, he was forced to read articles and watch videos in an attempt to learn the skill, however, nothing could compare to a hands-on mentoring style. While Liam can heal minor wounds in a few seconds, anything larger takes an agonizing few minutes because of his lack of proper training. Furthermore, larger wounds drain Liam’s energy extremely quickly, oftentimes leaving him exhausted afterwards. He has attempted to better his healing skills since for the time being, his capabilities are limited to wounds. Sickness cannot be healed by Liam because of his lack of training.
Wing Manifestation -- Intermediate The ability to manifest wings when one wills it, allowing the user to fly. The Belmonts are an infamous family of cherubims descending from a guardian heritage. When spawned, they have a trio of white wings, elegant and large compared to their small frames. In the Belmont family, their pride sparks reason to learn the ability, alas, their fixation makes this the final ability learnt in their privatized ability education. Manifestation is gradually taught to be faster, gradually growing more painless as it is learnt. Currently, Liam is slow at spawning his magnificent pairs of wings. The meagre training provided for the time being adequate enough only to spawn his wings for roughly an hour. Once he has mastered the other abilities expected of the Belmont clan, he will receive better lessons in wing manifestation.
backstory
The Belmonts have always been a family wrapped in controversy the moment they decided to maintain a prestigious cherubim line. Centuries ago two cherubims of strong genes merely wedded for the purpose of having children. The tradition was crucial in their family to maintain the genes passed onto them by their guardian ancestors. Marriage were accomplished through information related to the origin of each cherubim family’s genes. They believed possessing guardian genes made them better at their tasks. Thus, the 5th generation of Belmonts consisted of Jacob Belmont who married a young woman known as Lorelei. When they wedded, anybody could notice the severe lack of love in their relationship. Their was merely compliance in their relationship, both parties accepting that their purpose was to produce children for the Belmont family line. The objective should be considered honourable among them, especially considering the prestigious wealth of the Belmont family.
After they wedded, Lorelei was quick to get pregnant with Jacob’s first child. A daughter was born, followed by another until Lorelei finally gave birth to a young boy they named Liam. As the youngest Belmont, Liam was a somewhat pampered child, however, was still modelled by the strict rules his parents implemented. He was expected to be a perfect example of cherubims at their best. The Belmonts assisted wealthy families with marital issues while also acting as psychologists. Thus, the future was paved with a well-paying job, but a variety of downsides. From a young age, Liam learned he would never be permitted to indulge in a romantic relationship. Those notions were never displayed for Liam, his parents maintaining a professional relationship of sorts. All the young boy knew was the parental affection he received and provided, but remained clueless about anything beyond that.
There were two types of schooling expected of the Belmont children. The regular public schooling to assist with both education and social etiquette and the ability training. Additional tutors were provided to assure their children had a thorough grasp on the school materials. Despite his age, Liam bore the expectations of excellent grades and education expansions. They were informed to maintain the impression of professionalism and self-importance. The Belmonts were a crucial line of cherubims in his parents’ opinion, thus they expected the best from their children. Despite these overbearing expectations of professionalism, Liam was always a laid back kid in school. Life for Liam was what he considered average. Lavish home life kept him extremely happy, however, the restricted rules made it difficult to constantly enjoy home life. Constantly, his parents mentioned preparing him for the future, even going the lengths to test what girls their son seemed to get along with. They desired a friendly outcome, however, anything beyond that always resulted in Liam being whisked away and told to never speak with them.
Love was forbidden unless it merely consisted of the familial connections. As a result, his parents were frequently meddlers in Liam’s friendship’s at school. In situations where puppy love was even remotely mentioned, they would tell Liam to cease his affiliation with those people. Each time, the timid child would listen and severe his friendships, even when it would upset him. When Liam turned 13, his parents began explaining how crucial it was to avoid falling in love. They informed Liam his duty was to help people discover their true love, but never to find it himself. Warnings were made about those silver threads which glowed a faint pink, these were the soulmate strings. His parents told him if somebody’s string was wrapped around his finger, he was expected to avoid them, or else, he would fall from Akari’s grace. From there, Liam became curious and started researching love and entering his lessons on love sensory. If his expectation was to assist people in discovering their true love, then Liam desired the knowledge to accomplish those tasks.
Shortly, playing matchmaker became a heavenly notion to Liam, especially when he watched happy couples skip by. Part of him wished he could know those feelings, however, he was happy for them. Although, one morning after his training session with love sensory, Liam decided to finally use it in the classroom. He glanced around, curious, noticing a few faint strings, but there was one more evident. A brow raised as Liam followed the string, heart began to pound as his green eyes ventured closer… until… they locked on his own hand. There, wrapped around his finger was a glowing string connecting him to a mysterious, non-binary student in his class. Anxieties elevated as Liam realized he found them, the person his parents warned him about. His soulmate, the individual he was destined to be with, but forced to avoid because of cherubim culture. From that day onward, Liam attempted to avoid the student known as Robyn Perkins.
Indulging in soulmate relationships was completely forbidden, thus Liam had limited choices. Whenever possible, he would avoid partnerships in projects, Liam limiting his contact with the individual every time. He managed for several years, however, as a new school year approached, the young boy feared the worst. In the same class was his soulmate, the person who fate says Liam was destined to be with, yet, he longed to experience those positive emotions. Alas, he refused to indulge, the forbidden action was against the Belmont family, therefore, Liam would attempt another school year of avoiding.
