Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
As October 31st arrives to Lorsette, people are preparing themselves for an evening of ghoulish delights. Through the day, people prepare themselves for a night brimming with Halloween treats and costume parties. As people dress for the occasion and ready their children, preparation across town have already been made to celebrate the month of horror. Citizens have decorated the outsides of their homes, some proving to be overachievers and others not.
Meanwhile, in the TRS, some prepare to celebrate their day off with friends while others plan on working through Halloween. The request for their assistance around the city has escalated as the holiday draws closer. With the Will-o-whisps having existed last year along with other terrorizing events, the TRS has been told to be prepared. Patrols throughout the city have been made with members being divided into their units and other members on standby to provide back up. In every sector of the city, medical tents have been set up.
Little do they know the malicious plans of the Assembly of Phantoms remain hidden outside most doors in the city. Having prepared prior, the will-o-wisps are already hiding amidst the pumpkin displays, prepared to leap out and cause havoc. In the background, Assembly members have been given the task of distracting the TRS and assisting the terrors in any way possible. For this ominous eve will be filled with misfortunes and endless screams. As the terror kicks up for another day, alarms have been rung through the city and units are quickly requesting back up.
Unit Divisions Unit One - Will be covering the Suburbs & Western areas with a requested fixation on the suburbs area due to higher amounts of trick or treaters there Unit Two - Will be covering the Central & Northern areas. Unit 2 will have the most back-up staff to assist the other units in their tasks. Unit Three - Will be covering the Coastal & Outskirt areas primarily. Due to the lower population of these areas, unit 3 has been asked to use scouts to keep an eye on the wilderness as well. They have received a little additional support from other units.
Will-O-Wisps Will-O-Wisps are a fire manipulating, fear eater type of terror. They have tall, skinny, black bodies with a pumpkin head sitting on top. The flames of their pumpkin heads pulsate to the tune of a heartbeat. They are capable of hiding themselves inside their pumpkin head, making them difficult to spot. They are incredibly dangerous and depending on the abilities and weaknesses of the hunters, can take approximately 3-4 hunters to defeat or less with the assistance of a water manipulator.

This event will be available for participation up until December 4th. At that time, the board will be locked for thread creation. The board will still allow for replying so members can finish their threads. Once the next AC arrives, all threads will be moved to AU to be continued and the board removed. The board for people to use for this event can be found here. With the arrival of Halloween, staff have prepared the Halloween Skin to be up for the entire month of October! Enjoy!
