Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Zachary couldn't help but feel slightly surprised when the girl had claimed her health was always like this, seeing as it wasn't healthy, she was on the skinny side and if she didn't start eating healthier it wouldn't be long before she starved to death. He listened quietly to Desmond ask the girl questions, slightly disappointed that she hadn't given them a name to go off of. He listened as the girl explained her reason for being burned, he was surprised to hear that she had been one of the mutts the guy had been complaining about when he had checked on him last night. I sort of figured that guy hadn't told me the whole truth, at least now I know what happened to him. It is rude to call this woman a mutt when she is a shifter. If Desmond choice to look his way, he would nod his head as if proving to know what the girl was talking about as to not run the risk of interrupting them.
He couldn't help but wonder who had been the one screaming, most likely the guy who came in with the injured hand but then again he had been getting complaints from his female nurses about the guy trying to smack their butt so as far as he was concerned the guy seemed to be somewhat of a pervert which is why he requested male nurses to attend to the guy as to avoid making the female ones more uncomfortable when handling him. He was pulled from his thoughts when the female had asked her question. "No, as I said you haven't been eating healthy." He paused before adding, "It would also be helpful if you gave us your name so that I can update the medical sheet." He wasn't about to let her go until she became healthier, no patient on his watch was going to run the risk of dying.
The glares shot towards Desmond by the dark haired female were not bothering him remotely due to his immense carelessness. Concerns about the necessary information plagued the scout's mind, making the glares meaningless to the focused thoughts. Naturally, it was the nephilim's job to seek information and his intentions was to complete his mission without problem. Although, the annoyed look the stranger shot Zachary caused the ginger to feel mildly irritated, but he held back. Mentally, Desmond began listing off a number of defenses for the handsome doctor to keep the woman detained in the hospital walls, the most prominent being that her health for poor and he only desired to assist. Noticing his furious mental defending, the nephilim's cheeks tinted a slight pink; he sometimes wished he possess the courage or opportunity to state those arguments.
In this case, however, the scout was attempting to avoid being pushed into a negative opinion according to the shifter who he required knowledge from. When the conversation changed towards what the ginger required, he listened intently, but found himself displeased. His green eyes flitted to Zachary, seeing the confirming nod before hastily returning to the woman before a blush could colour his face. There was no connection towards the Assembly of Phantoms according to both the stranger and Zachary, which meant Desmond had given away his shift for nothing. Being apart of a family plagued by financial issues, the concept concerned him personally and furthermore the information search provided zero results. An annoyed sigh escaped the nephilim's lips as his self-conscious thoughts made it difficult to discover any positive points towards remaining here. Displaying his rather carelessly messy appearance to Zachary made him believe that the doctor not possessed negative thoughts towards him.
More effort could have been taken, although, the nephilim admittedly was aware his hair was bound to be tousled from being airborne. The early hours of the day still remained, but Desmond already felt horrible.
"Then why didn't you just go to the hospital or looked for healing?" Desmond asked, accidentally adding more irritation to his voice than he had desired. "This all could have been avoided if you had done so."
Obvious by both tone and countenance, the annoyance in the woman's recklessness in avoiding a hospital was evident to all. Instead of allowing the other individuals in the room to witness it, Desmond's gaze shifted elsewhere despite his requirement to detect lies. This day was holding the attitude of being a bad one for the nephilim, which remained a concern. Stress was becoming a common in today's events and suggested that more would shortly follow afterwards.
"Isn't it simple?" Riley asked back to Desmond. "I didn't want to be in the same hospital as that other guy and what happens.... Oh I don't know. I END UP BEING IN THE SAME ONE ANYWAY." She yelled the last part of her sentence out. It was clear to her that this guy wasn't likely to let her leave if the good Doctor had no intention on filling out a release form. She wouldn't answer his question for why she didn't seek out healing but her reason was too prideful, it wasn't like she had money to pay for it after all. She rolled her eyes at Desmond before laying her back on the bed, if she wasn't going to be allowed to leave than she would have to wait for them to focus on somebody else before running out by force again.
Except this time, this guy wasn't going to teleport in front of her and catch her in the act. "If you care about my health so much. Than leave me alone." She was feeling stubborn, the last thing she wanted was to be charged for having an unplanned hospital visit. Though she was grateful her back wasn't hurting anymore, she wasn't in the mood to argue with either guy about her reasons for wanting to still leave. To her surprise the Doctor would exit the room, seeming to take her request into consideration.
Zachary listened to Desmond ask his question before the woman had snapped back at Desmond. She than asked for them to leave her alone, though he didn't believe that she would stay if requested he didn't see a point in staying in the room unless the woman was ready to talk. He couldn't help but wish she had complied in giving her name to them though, at least than he could have updated her medical file. He would look towards Desmond, figuring it would be best to give his friend the choice of following him out of the room to give the woman peace and quiet or to come out to join him in the hall instead. If his friend chose to stay in the room, he would walk away after a few minutes else he would be debating on what conversation he could have with him.
It hadn't been that long since he had last seen Desmond, but his friend knew how to look attractive even while on the job and he couldn't help but hope that he would be sticking around just a little bit longer even if it meant avoiding work for him. It seemed like such a selfish idea but he wasn't in the mood to let logic cloud his judgement of wanting to spent some freetime with Desmond while having the chance.
There was annoyance passing through the air over the woman's ignorance to go to a hospital in the first place. The situation, from what Desmond examined, could have turned critical should he had not interfered in saving the stranger's life. The financial problems that plagued his home life would not assisted with relinquishing his shift and bickering with this shifter. When the snapping began, the nephilim released an irritated sigh when the woman insisted about not desiring to be placed in a similar hospital. There was a nasty desire to argue back at the shifter, but Desmond remained quiet since it would likely make the situation worse. At the request to leave her alone, the ginger heard the shifting of Zachary moving to wordlessly leave the room. He glanced at the door that his crush had exited with an inclination to follow; technically he was off duty now.
Slowly, the nephilim began walking towards the threshold, sparing a glance at the shifter who remained on the bed before sliding out the door. Information could not be discovered in this situation which irritated the ginger. Once across the threshold, his eyes remained lowered with a downcast appearance. He felt stressed from the situation, his mind clouded with endless amounts of concerns. There was a sense of failure when the conclusion arrived that he would be incapable of gaining important information was more worrisome due to the consequences that would arrive with them.
